Sams Chinese Takeaway in Milton Keynes

The worst Chinese I’ve ever had 😞 I couldn’t eat it and it tasted like it was cooked in really old oil and tasted off

Not even a star, customer service was awful I have never ordered from here before and I will never do it again. Food was smelling off.

It's been a few times now that I have ordered a take away from this place, all food are ok but specially Pork ribs, It's a shamble, a very low quality and awful. They use lots of soft bone awful ribs poorly cooked, every time I see the quality is going down hill. Also prawn dishes are very low in quantity compare to its price.

Ordered "sweet and sour chicken balls and egg fried rice TWICE" and a "Chow mein and egg fried rice". A simple order that they got wrong (missing one of the chicken ball meals). Chow mein and rice was acceptable but the chicken balls were disgusting, overcooked crunchy and very greasy. Shall NOT be returning here.

Good food and good customer service

Quick and polite service. Never been here before. Ordered chicken with bamboo shoots and water chesnuts and pinapple in syrup. The bamboo shoots were inedible, the texture of chewing wood. The rest was delightful.

Order takeaway from Sam's and sit on the bench near the lake and have the food. Pure bliss. Highly recommended.

The great reviews confuse me. Was I just unlucky? I've been eating Chinese food for over 40years now and I can say without doubt this is the worst I've ever eaten. Firstly, I ordered 'chicken chow mien' (£7.20)and 'Sams mixed starters for two'(£11.00). When it turned up it was lukewarm, at best. It came in 2 small containers. Firstly the mixed starters box. The two ribs in the container were dry and 'old' tasting. The smoked chicken was rubbery and tasted of nothing. The spring rolls tasted reheated as did the tiniest samosas I've ever seen. At the bottom of the container was the seaweed which was ok. Now for the 'chow mein'. Where do I start. It was dry, no juices of ANY kind. The chicken was barely noticeable. The noodles were over cooked. I'd say the overall dish compromised of, 92% stodgy noodles, 6% chicken and 2% bean sprouts(if that). Didn't notice any onion. I only managed 1/3 of that dish. Truly awful meal. Will never return.

Update: for our 2nd deliveroo order, we had lemon chicken, sweet and sour prawn balls and vegetable fried rice. My friend was impressed by the portion size of the chicken. I was impressed by the presentation - it looked beautiful. The prawn balls were great again and went very well with the veg rice. The delivery service was also better than the first time, as they put it on my doorstep as requested. My 'atmosphere' rating is for the delivery. Total: £22.50 -- Tasty Chinese meal for 2 for my first order from this takeaway. Great prawn balls - 10 in a light, crispy batter with tails left on for presentation, with a rich, sweet sauce supplied in a separate container. Mixed veg Chow Mein had crispy fresh veg and noodles in a rich, smokey sauce. Roast Duck Chinese style - looked great but my friend was disappointed that the duck was only on the top layer and the rest of the container was bean sprouts. My friend expected more meat for their money and topped up with some of my prawns. Prices: Sweet and Sour Prawn Balls £8.20 Roast Duck Chinese style £8 Mixed Vegetables Chow Mein £6.60 Total £22.8 + fees = £23 Deliveroo driver arrived on schedule and food was hot. However, we were upset that they ignored instructions on order and wouldn't leave food outside door. Instead they wanted us to take the food out of the Deliveroo box, so no social distancing at all. Great food but disappointing first experience of Deliveroo.

Visited this place for the first time and it's literally the best Chinese I've ever had. Chicken satay, egg fried rice and curry sauce was 10/10

£61 takeaway - with friends, Tasteless chow main - hardly any chicken in, same as special fried rice - nothing special about it! bland! Chicken balls over fried - & runny sauce really disappointing! - sam’s use to be good!! portions size are good if it was edible !

This is by far the best chinese I've been to in milton keynes . the food is amazing and as I walked in I noticed they have had some famous customers by the signed photos of michael caine , philip schofield and Chris tarrent . This is my new favourite chinese . I'm definitely going back here .

Returned after lockdown 23.7 to find that the food was tasteless but the service was reasonable, sorry but won't be returning to this establishment.

The customer service here is delightful. Unfortunately I was too poor to give them a tip. Yes, that's how good their customer service is. The food was well balanced, incredibly seasoned, and full of flavour. Would definitely recommend coming to this fine establishment.

Ordered food. Got home no Egg fried rice. Not driving all the way back to get it. That was going to be for my son. Food wasnt bad. We had the same order about 5 months ago. And it seemed to taste better the last time we had it. The crispy seaweed was far too salty. I had 2 spoon fulls, very very salty.

Love Sams, never been disappointed by the food, staff are always friendly the only draw back is they are cash only otherwise I'd have given 5 stars

One of our meals was tasteless and the other was extremely salty inedible. There is no point in complaining as the young lady that works in there is not interested. She would rather be somewhere else she hates her job !

Collected a meal this evening from Sam's Chinese takeaway peartree bridge Milton Keynes and my wife was eating when she started to choke on something. She coughed up a long piece of metal that was in the food. I phoned the restaurant to complain and was told there is nothing they could do. No refund AND no apology. I offered to send a photo but was fobbed off and they were clearly not interested. Very disappointed in this takeaway. PLEASE AVOID. I have left a photo of the piece of metal on the photo section of the Google page.

Really nice Chinese food. Very tasty and ample portion sizes. I had the Sechzuan beef and it has a nice spicy kick.

I struggled with the food here. I found it far to salty. To me it was almost inedible. My use of salt when I cook is probably on the low side compaired to most but when I eat out I am normally fine with what is supplied. On this occasion no. Clearly if you like a lot of salt it's probably fine for you.

Food was delicious, we will definitely be going back to them.

Overall, food was OK, portions were good and the staff seemed friendly. Would probably go back. The seaweed was uncomfortably salty and over priced for what it was. The chicken balls were also very greasy than expected. The prawn crackers lacked flavour. I would have liked it if they did deliveries and accepted card though.

Nhs discount available. Always enjoyed it.

Had a takeaway tonight from here tonight for first time. In all fairness, service was good and very quick....however no flavour whatsoever. totally bland. Worst Chinese takeaway we've ever had.

Very very poor customer service. Ladies who take orders have really big problems with math. Was charged too much. When i tried to explain that they were wrong it was waste of time..... Just paid extra and did not want waste my time trying to explain that they were wrong...... Do not recommend.

My choice of Chinese any day such a shame they don't deliver I'd love to eat their food more often. Can't recommend enough!

Got special rice. Very little meat, just a bowl of rice.

Sam's is an awesome chinese takeaway. Friendly team and terrific food. There are takeaways much closer to where I live but I only ever go to Sam's even though it's a 5 mile drive. I recommend the Mongolian roast pork.
