Just had a delivery food was piping hot and absolutely delicious well worth getting again loved it will be ordering again

Just been for the first time for a meal and a bottle of wine. Meal was lovely and service great. Very friendly staff.

Have been coming here for around 8 years now and we have never had a bad experience. Whether we have the £5.95 lunch meal or go for something more substantial the food is always amazing and really good value.We had sirloin steaks last night and they were cooked to perfection. Staff are always friendly and the cleanliness I observed was excellent, after every interaction I.e food/drink to table the staff were sanitising their hands.Also throughly cleaning tables and chairs.

Food was nice apart from the hair on my pizza. Service was terrible. Questioned if we had booked and had to show on our phone that we had rang this particular sambucas. As previously stated in another review. One of the waitresses had a stinking attitude and made us feel like an incovienience for being there. That waitress needs sacking. The eat out to help out was on and they basically cut all usual offers so they could double there money without passing on the scheme to the paying customer unlike others within the chain. Won't be going back again. It's worth travelling to go to another one in the chain.

The best Sambuccas we have been to. The food is always delicious, the staff are extremely friendly and excellent service. Highly reccomed.

When we first walked into the quiet restaurant with about maybe 10 people in a restaurant of about maybe 60-70 covers.we where told to sit and wait to be seated on a bench beside the coffee machine.That was fine not the end of the world.We were taken to our table by a nice enough guy(he had no name tag on reason I didn't say his name).Within about 30 seconds the lady who told us to wait came to the table and asked if we would like drinks so we gave her our order and waited for our drinks.After getting our drinks the same lady came to our table and abruptly asked us "if we where ready to order."So I said "yes we are" so my daughter ordered her meal, my wife ordered her meal and then I ordered my meal my friend said can I have the same as him to which she replied "yes OK!".I noticed that she had not wrote down the same as what I ordered and asked her "if she understood what he had said" and she snapped "yes same as you".So I said "but you have not added the garlic bread cheese that I had ordered onto his meal"...she snapped and said "I have put 2 garlic breads down". I had to explain to her that my daughters garlic bread was a different order to mine..to that she snapped I will get that sorted.At this point I am saying to my wife "lets just pay for the drinks and let go somewhere else I don't feel comfortable in here".My wife is not like me she is shy so she's is telling me "to just to eat fast and then go".So begrudgingly I sit and eat my meal not enjoying my experience at all.The entire time we were sat at our table she would not smile and just stared at the table waiting to remove our plates(I think)She was clearing a table at the back of the restaurant and 3 old people came in she shouted across "how many for". the answered 3 and she nodded to a table beside her saying "sit their".The truth is the food was not bad but this lady has made us feelvery uncomfortable..not going back there.

last time I went there, the service wasnt particularly good - had to wait a long time before anybody came to take the order, then it took ages for the food to come. Bill was also wrong.

A nice working lunch the other day. Didn’t bother with the three course lunch as didn’t have too long. Pizza was the order of the day and it was nice enough. I normally prefer my pizza sparse rather than American style loaded, but it was a bit too sparse! Only a few bits of pepperoni. And no fresh chilli just a pinch of flakes. The marinara looked a better balance of topping to base ratio, as did the Napoli.

Super front of house, great staff, superb food, awesome quality, friendly prices, great find. Feels genuinely Italian. Will certainly be going back when I'm next in the area.

Called in on spec and having been here about 18 months ago, I was happy that the food and service remain excellentWe started with our favourite Mussels to share that came in a delicious tomato and garlic sauce. The mussels were juicy and a good portion. Wide choice of fresh daily specials. Had the scallops which were very good. The pizza here is also very very good. Lunch time specials are like £6.95 excellent quality and can’t wait to visit again very soon

Went to this branch of Sambucca for lunch with my daughter. Food was delicious and so reasonably priced. Served by attentive pleasant staff.

Really good meal it was there offer 3 course for £5-95. Starter potato skins with 2 daises then I had lasagna then ice-cream or a cup of tea / coffee. Cakes looked good to just to much.

We are regular visitors to sambucas and are rarely disappointed the food is good for what you pay and Saturday lunchtime at £5 for a starter pasta or pizza main and coffee or ice-cream is a steal, staff are good and attentive and if you don't want the specials there is a good choice on the board all in all can't fault the place

Great food at a great price friendly staff and good atmosphere used this place for a few birthday celebrations always happy to help and make it a great occasion.

Went for a family meal and I could be happier, service was amazing with very polite staff food was incredible especially for the price. Can not go wrong. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a cheap but fantastic meal.

Very disappointed with the quality of the food. Tasteless and bland. Garlic bread tasted like cardboard. Pizza was a oily puddle.

As ever we love Sambucca at the Tyne Tunnel. Lovely staff, lovely food and well priced. We love the informal, yet professional service. It’s one of my favourite restaurants any where.

We tried this restaurant on impulse as we saw it when we came out of the Tyne Tunnel, and we were hungry! The service was friendly and efficient. The selection of food and specials was good, and all very reasonably priced. I can't fault it. We'll be back!

Went without booking on Saturday 17 November @ 7pm. We were seated at a table quickly enough and drinks ordered promptly. Between the two of us, we had Starters of Prawn Cocktail (£3.50), King Prawns (£5.95) and Mains of Spaghetti Bolognaise and Altonno Pizza - Tuna and Garlic (Both £4.95).

Great meal deals, great food & prices but feel a bit rushed out every time when i’ve been. However it is a small Sambuccas compared to others

3 courses for £4.95? Yes yes yes ! The soup is legendary and pasta or pizza too, coffee or ice cream to finish. Or choose from the special menu or the daily menu and you wont be disssapointed as all the ingredients are fresh and local , winner winner fishy dinner !!!!

I was visiting Newcastle to stay with friends for a night. This is one of my favourite haunts in this part of the world. It is so damn cheap! I lovely fresh pasta, made by real Italian chefs and on a plate for 5 pounds. I had tagliatelle with seafood, the only criticism I would make is there was not enough seafood in it, probably only one tiny prawn.

Service good, staff friendly and food presentation very good. Good quality food. Very clean throughout and a decent sized outdoor area.

We eat here regular and can't fault the place. Great food, service and price. The kids actually refuse to go elsewhere.

You can't beat the 3 course deal. Less than a fiver for potato skins and any pizza or pasta. The pizzas are always lovely and the pasta too. Staff are always really bubbly and friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you're on a budget!

Excellent value and the food is always great! There’s a lot to choose from and the specials menu is great value and never disappoints! Staff are great and always helpful! Great for family’s and couples!

I had fillet steak with Diana sauce ( I had to pay extra for the sauce ) It was excellent. My friend had tuna steak which was also excellent.

The quality of the food here is fantastic value for money! Especially the specials on the blackboard, always worth looking at as I have had some absolute gems from here!! Quick service too, such a good alternative for when you can’t be bothered to cook at home!

I know this is known as a cheaper place but I've been to "posher" places, spent triple and enjoyed Sambuca's far more. Great value, I even found myself eating all of my partner's crusts from her pizza

A colleague from work booked this place to celebrate another colleague leaving and we were a party of about 30 and spread over 2 long tables. It was quite late on, 7pm and this place closes at 9pm. The staff were friendly and it appeared that they had drafted in some support in the kitchen because i saw only 2 people in there at the start of our service but towards the end there were at least 4 meaning that we didn't wait too long for our food which was good. I had the king prawns in garlic to start which were big and tasty, could have been a little hotter but still nice. For main I played it safe with lasagne which came out with very little sauce. Luckily another colleague ordered the same but he was at the bar when it came so I switched mine with his as it was swimming in tomato sauce and it was delicious. The rest of the group all seemed to enjoy their meals too some taking leftovers home to have later. The only downside to the evening was a female colleagues chair broke and she fell to the floor and she was very embarrassed about this and to make things even worse the head waiter/bar man tried to make a joke out of it saying he was going to charge her £10 for breaking the chair, absolutely ridiculous! No offer to record the incident in the accident book or apology or any discount on her meal which for me is totally unacceptable but this is my experience not hers which I'm sure would be totally different. The overall meal was nice and I would return as the bill for the food only came to £10 for what I had only next time I will test the strength of the chairs before I sit down......

Had another calzone from this place seems like every time I go I have to have one so good go on and try one you won't be disappointed

Today I visited the restaurant and was quite disturbed at how a young member of staff was treated by another member of staff, this said she left the premises and was clearly distressed.

We went last night my daughter had a teenage birthday meal with friends in their back room whilst I stayed in the main restaurant. Lovely atmosphere and staff are great. The girls had an excellent night food very reasonable and they had a grown up party with a parent nearby. Well worth a visit I had a portion of mussels in chilli and tomato and a calzone pizza which were cooked just right. No room for dessert. Being a Friday evening it was busy but the staff were there when needed. Well done to a lovely restaurant.

I have been comming to this sambucas since opening. Its by far the nicest and best portions. We tried the new menu, the beef was amazing i dont know what they called it but it is a must! Waiters i find very pleasant, not over the top and loud like they are on fish quay. Well done guys and to the amazing chef ‍

Friendly staff who want you to leave satisfied and they definitely do that. Great value on lunchtime meals or go all out with the family without breaking the bank. Great with kids, so no excuse to leave them at home with a pork chop in their pocket so the dog will play with them them for a few hours.

Back to Sambuca's again for my Birthday treat. Four of us enjoyed a Sunday Lunch here. We all chose the same main course, Belly-Pork with Yorkshire Pud's and a good selection of Veg and it was delicious.

We were on a mission well I was match day I had to get prepared for kick off so off we went to Sambucca. The converted pub was awash with the Atmosphere of families having a Sunday lunch. So when we arrived service was quick and efficient taken straight away to a table. Food was plentiful what you want from a Sunday lunch roast beef cannot knock it. Plenty of choice on the menu boards if you want something special.

We had a special and it was value for money. Set menu but for the price we paid the quality of the food was good but basic Italian Pizza/' Pasta.We would visit this pub/restaurant again

My wife and I decided to go to Sambuca Tyne Tunnel as we have been there on many occasions and thoroughly enjoyed it. We decided to eat a la carte even though they offer a steak special on a Monday evening. My wife had the scallops to start, I had the pigeon breast. We both had the fillet steak with tempura king prawn, confit cheery tomatoes and a choice of sauce. When the waiter came to take our order I asked which sauces are available? To which he replied 'all of them' quite rudely, I mean seriously I wasn't asking for a free meal! Surely the secret of good service is being polite, informative and friendly to your customers. Anyway to the meal, my wife and I both think that the starters were cooked by a different chef compared to the steaks. Although both starters were tasty, both the scallops and the pigeon were over cooked. However the steaks were both wonderfully cooked and the confit cherry tomatoes were a revelation.Also my wife and I were quite concerned about the amount of fruit flies that were buzzing around our table. All in our bill including a glass of wine and a diet coke was £50.00, not a large bill. Mind you even if we'd paid far more or way less we would still expect the waiter to be polite. As I've previously said we have eaten there on many occasions in the past, having previously filled a loyalty card, but we will not be going back. The food was good, in fact very good in the case of the steaks but I don't expect to feel uncomfortable because of a waiters rudeness and there are plenty more good restaurants in the area.

Been here loads of times and to be honest could never fault it but today was a different experience altogether! I don't want to go into great detail and start nit picking as I hope this was a one off, the service was poor and all of the dishes we ate from the lunch time specials were tasteless to say the least! I just hope it has not changed hands as this is how it felt.... fingers crossed.

Back again for a Family Birthday. One of the young girl waiters was a bit dour and short on the usual friendly chat, first time we've seen her. Maybe we caught her on a bad day. Food was good especially the Steak our Grandson had, one of the best he's had.Only gripe I had was the music that was far too loud. We were to the rear of the busy restaurant and with the music being so loud people were all talking louder to be heard. Why do restaurants do this??? Groups usually go for a meal to enjoy the company and the food and the chat not to compete with MUSAC. I sometimes think the staff feel it's what they want rather than what the Customer wants. Suggest the management should consider this.

With a lot of sambucas around not all are the same but this is one of the good ones.steaks are fantastic value for money and service is spot on not much to say apart from I'd definitely come back so that says it all

Ive visited a few sambuca restaurants and this is by far the worst available. There is an awful stench of sewage outside. The food is microwaved within an inch of its life. The staff were quick and polite - the only good part of the visit. Alot of the food was left, we were asked if we would like a doggy bag.. needless to say we declined. Food wouldnt even be suitable for a dog to be honest. Avoid!

Regular visitor to this Sambuca's, there are 2 closer to my house, but we travel here instead because the food is cooked nicer, service is better. The pizzas are tremendous, well worth the money. Can get quite hectic but because the food is lovely.

Great reasonable priced food . Extensive menu. Lots of choice.. Had a good atmosphere .. busy.. The staff were very efficient & helpful . Didn't have to wait to long in between courses. The food was nicely presented & was good .

We were staying at the Premier but unable to get out for a meal that night. Contacted Sambucca's in Percy Main and ordered two pasta's and some garlic bread to pick up. It was absolutely delicious. The pasta was so tasty and cooked to perfection.

Gezellig restaurant. We hebben hier geluncht. Twee personen hadden kip. Ik had Penne arbiata. Lekker hoor en goed pittig.

Quality food at very reasonable prices, table for 4 , we all had starters and mains , I had pate and the stroganoff plus cheese cake from the specials menu for just £10.95 great value and good quality , service was very prompt and didn't feel rushed , this is a little gem of a place with much to offer for everyone and also won't empty the bank.

I went with my husband and we both had steak which was quite fatty, i didnt think much of the meal . If you just want a drink this is not the place for you they tend to ignore you and concentrate on people having meals. Would recomend if you want pitza but not for steak or drinks.

Food was at a standard level and was nothing really wow, Sambucas down the fish key in North Shields is better

This was the busiest visit yet. In spite of the hectic pace the staff remained cool-ish calm, friendly and coped with the usual happy atmosphere maintained.We had to wait a little to get seated but understandable with the number of people in the restaurant, they all did very well.We missed the special traditional Sunday lunch but what we had was very good with "Mother" happy which was the main thing. We'll be making return visits.

We had two specials, the mixed seafood grill and the mixed steak grill. I can honesty say this has for be the best stake - dare I say, that I've ever had ! It was juicy, and cooked perfectly ! The seafood mixed grill was also brilliant. I think that's enough said - would recommend if you're in the area.

Great little find. Excellent value with a 3 course special lunch during the week at only £4.95. Lots more to choose from on their menu and specials board, and an absolutely fantastic Sunday lunch. Really friendly staff make you feel extremely welcome, and the décor and feel of the restaurant is great since their recent refurb - lovely garden area for when the summer is finally here - recommend this Sambucca !!

Food was good quality and very short wait even though the place was packed Staff very helpful and friendly. It's a bit out of the way but well worth it and very reasonable price.

The dinner time menu is worth going for its 3 course for 5.95 and the Sunday lunch is excellent but you have to book sundays

We use this place a lot it's nice and roomy the staff are always polite friendly and most helpful. They always have specials on and the food is second to none, can honestly say we've never had a bad meal there and apart from being great food it is also good value.

Went with the family. Great food, great staff and great value for money. We will for sure go again no matter what the occasion.

This restaurant is quite easy for us to get too and meet friends half way. It's got excellent priced food so you can go for a meal that doesn't break the bank. Food has always been well cooked and tasty. Staff are friendly and welcoming and it's a comfortable little place. Only issue is that on one visit there was a lot of flies and we spent a lot of the meal swatting them away from our food which totally ruined it. Think this is due to the location.

First visit here although introduced by family member. Visited around 5.30pm and still quite busy then - obviously very popular! Good range of food and service to match. Good range on menu and would come again.

After the family enjoyed a brisk and refreshing seaside walk we decided to drop in at Sambucas.Staff were very friendly and warm, we're attentive to our needs and made the younger children feel welcome and valued. Good was very good, tasty, presented in a reasonable time and very welcome.Puddings are varied and scrumptious. The key is great value for money.

A lovely warm and friendly restaurant. Plenty to choose from witha specials board. Great wine and beer selection, and all at a fantastic price. I've been to a few other Sambuccas but this is my favourite.
