Salutation Inn Restaurant in West Lindsey

I went with my wife and Belgian Malinois dog to this pub that did food, the menu is good and not overly complicated, some good hearty food available that is freshly prepared for you, this means you are waiting a little for your meal but if you want fresh food this is what happens and we did not mind at all. The hosts are very pleasant and attentive, I found the drinks extremely reasonable and the soft drinks as I was driving below what you would normally pay at other venues which I think is great for the designated driver. The food we had was lovely, I had a freshly made steak and ale pie with mash and vegetables and my wife had scampi with chips and a salad accompanied by tartar sauce. They meals are plentiful and filling but if you can manage a starter or pudding these are available too. It is a very dog friendly pub and the lady behind the bar gave our dog a treat after asking if it was ok, I think she made a friend for like lol. If you are at the watermill leisure park it is less than 5 minutes drive and is well worth the visit. There seems to be quizzes on a Thursday and Friday and Bingo on a Sunday, there seems to be a lot of locals that is always a good sign, locals call it the Sali, well worth a visit if in the area.

Terrible food. Starters Had soup served with a burger bun. Prawn cocktail was served with the end of the loaf. Main meal 2 Lasagna ordered one was freezing in the middle and the other was boiling hot. Lasagna was more like tomatoes and beef with pasta on top. Tasteless! Also chips were horrible very crispy and tasted like oil (none of us could eat the chips). Asked for a middle steak but came out raw so they put that back in the pan to cook while warming up the other lasagne. We also had the gammon and asked for pineapple but came back and said no pineapple. In our opinion all the food tasted like microwave food not homemade. Staff were very friendly & restaurant, toilets very very clean.

Situated on the main road with a large car park ideal place to stop for something to eat and drink.Sunday lunch was great the food was delicious and well presented we opted for the burgers and were not disappointed they were very tasty, the people on the next table had Sunday roast which looked really nice and plenty of it. The price is reasonable, helpful and pleasant staff definitely would go again if we were passing.

Very nice pub grub , loved the chips excellent Haddock Steak and good quality slices of Ham. Excellent service , will be back .

A really lovely pub to visit. Warming reception, nice attentive and friendly staff, and great food. A lovely location in a typical country pub. Will be visiting again They also have a really nice little snack shack next door, which does ice creams and cups of tea etc- ideal for people out walking

When we went last was just after Covid a bit disappointed , the food wasnt as good as before Covid. The Yorkshire puds were thick. I dont know if they had another chef. When I mentioned it, "oh sorry '. I didn't want a refund but it was though it didnt matter.

Very friendly welcoming staff. Eaten. Here several times and have never been disappointed with the food or the service. The menus caters for all dietary needs. The pub has recently had a refurbish and has brightened the place up.

Came here twice first time was lovely on a Monday we sat outside an older lady and young lady was serving .. second time on a Tuesday afternoon we were greeted by a moody multi colored haired lady and shown to a table inside .. the pub was empty basically an we didn't get asked if we wanted another drink once .. the rather larger lady who was also miserable as sinn didn't ask us if we wanted another drink or clear our table the whole time even though she walked past alot and we had to ask for them to clear the table but was quick to tell us when our son was sitting at another table ..we had to call out for a drink each time as they seemed in their own miserable little world's felt like we were putting them out .. was In a good mood before I stepped in there .. a smile wouldn't go a miss ..

As we hadn't prebooked the welcome was very unfriendly, being told that people with prior bookings would be given priority over orders. Service slow, we had a cheese ciabatti with cheese and onion chutney as little or no choice for veggies.Only positive was that it was half price under government scheme. Don't go if you are feeling low!

I went for a meal on the Italian night on Saturday 8th Feb, excellent food great service and a welcoming atmosphere. Reasonable price for high quality food freshly cooked. Will definitely go again, would recommend the Salutation to anyone.

We came here a couple of times during our week long stay over New Year.On both occasions our food was well cooked pub grub which was served without having to wait very long.The beers were well kept and the staff were really friendly (and hard working).On the the Thursday night we joined in with the quiz which was very informal and good fun.

The service was very very friendly,relaxed and humorous. The setting was quiet and clean. The food was tasty and chips great real ones. Portion size was really good. Would go back and recommend it to anyone

Fish and chips very well cooked! Desserts at £5.50 very over priced as Etonian mess was one small piece of meringue some frozen black currants and cream!! Maybe it was an off night but disappointed.

The bar service was confusing! Arrived and told where our table was, was unsure whether to order at the bar or table service. We went to the bar for drinks, one staff member, who was obviously stretched! We eventually got served drinks and told that food was table service. The table service was very slow and so was the food, which was average. (Sunday lunch)It is dog friendly and offered our dog a bed, which was a nice touch, although all dogs were grouped together. Our dog is good with others, however he was sat close to one who attacked him and kept growling at him throughout our meal. Decor was dated, and atmosphere was odd. Just didn’t feel comfortable. Perhaps because of the constant watch on a nasty dog!!!!

Spent 2 nights staying in the Snugs and attending the Nettlfest event on the weekend 12th to 14th July 2019. Absolutely fantastic. Snugs are clean and comfortable and well decorated. The food as usual was high quality don't listen to miseries who complain about freshly cooked excellent food, perhaps they should go to a fast food outlet. The staff are great and nothing is too much trouble, well done everyone. The atmosphere was fun and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves; we did. Good friendly staff, but poor management, I haven't eaten there recently as it has been poor in the past, however I have heard that the weekend Italian menu is very good

went at lunchtime and opted for specials board.portions a little small but well cooked & tasty.all in all a pleasant experience & will use again,

Wasn’t happy at having to wait an hour and a half for food. Food itself didn’t really fill me with the “wow” factor. There were 6 of us in total out for a birthday meal. Took the shine off the evening really. They did try and compensate by offering a round of drinks for free which we accepted but it still doesn’t take away that we had to wait the length of time we did. If it had been my night I would have left a lot earlier.

Had a birthday lunch here on a Saturday and needed to take our dog,the owner and bar staff gave us a room to ourselves which was carpeted and made us feel very welcome and were lovely and friendly. We had starters and main courses which was available from the full menu,the portions were very generous and arrived promptly from ordering. Would recommend if a traditional pub environment is what your after.

very good food and service pub food but very good very friendly atmosphere and drinks are real ale etc

Its a strange quirky place regards decor etc, it also has a Mini Shop inside (really mini as it a couple of shelves behind the bar.

Went for our daughters birthday, The steak and Ale pie was the best iv'e tasted.. All the meals were good quality and the service was brilliant.. Really relaxing and enjoyable.

First time visited tonight.. Steak and ale pie wasn't good at all soggy bottom rock hard top.. waited 45 minutes for dinner.. Then after ordering pudding another 30 minutes to be told they didn't have wat we ordered..

There is only one Salutation Inn in Nettleton. It is both a restaurant and an inn, and also a village shop!

Came here after a short walk from the caravan park, owner was really nice brought a bowl out for the dog, loverly atmosphere :)

We visit here quite a lot and I have already posted one previous review on the actual pub but this review is on the food side. We stopped here last weekend for food, decided to eat outside as a nice day. Had Cajun chicken burger served with chips, onion rings, coleslaw and side salad and a choice of sauces. I opted for the spicy hot sauce and my husband had the garlic mayonnaise. Food was delicious and tasty. The chips were light and fluffy and the sauces were tasty. All homemade produce and will definitely return for food. Always a warm welcome given and friendly staff.

One of my favorite places I love the staff here the food and drinks are excellent priced gorgeous to eat well cooked well presented the staff are wonderful and very helpful and friendly and nothing is to much trouble for them. I had a cuppa here some years back it was lovely in a porcein mug served with a biscuit and I could have much tea has I liked . The staff are always happy to help and serve customers. The loos and bar are spotlessly clean and plenty of soap hand wash towels etc. I felt comfy and safe while I was having my drink of tea no one bothered me and when I left I had a door opened by a gentleman which he went out of the way to open the door for me very sweet and kind. I was told goodbye thanks for coming and we hope to see you again which I thought was lovely way say to a customer. It was good old customer service which you don't get much these days just purely wonderful wonderful staff. Thank you

Called for a drink and ended up staying for lunch. Friendly staff the food was good and home made. Modern decor inside. It wAs a sunny day we sat outside it was on a made road so happy to watch the world go by. The pub had accommodation in the grounds some new wooden pods which looked very nice and modern and comfortable inside and a little village shop inside I presume for the people using the pods accommodation .

This used to be a lovely friendly restaurant/inn.

Surprised by this place as others have said the decor looks a bit old but the staff are all lovely the owner went out of her way to make sure all was good. The Sunday lunch was very good. reasonably priced so I didn't expect the kind of quality we got

We often eat in here when we are staying at our nearby caravan. They are happy to let us have a table in the bar if we bring the dog. Good honest British pub food with a good choice for the children. Nothing fancy, plenty of it with good beer.

We called into the Salutation for something to eat on our way through.
