Right by the Thames, this place has a great outdoor space with plenty of tables, even when it's busy. The food is very underwhelming, but grabbing a pint here with view is worth a visit

Although the setting was really nice, sitting along the water, the food was very disappointing. I had a BLT (minus tomatoes, which I don't like) which was very lacking. There were three strips of chicken on each side with a tiny piece of bacon on what appeared to be thin white bread, not the farmhouse loaf as advertised. I added on sweet potato fries, which were good. My friend had a burger which seemed decent and which came with fries. I guess my suggestion would be to avoid the BLT.

Exceptional service with great staff and delicious food. The location is tremendous view with Thames River beside it.

I have visited Salt Quays a few times for project meetings, and each visit has been a delight. The atmosphere is amazing with beautiful scenery, making it a perfect spot for a lunch meeting. The staff and service are outstanding, always exuding positive vibes and being extremely helpful. Shannon, in particular, is wonderful to communicate with. She understands when I’m in a meeting or viewing self-tapes and always offers great interpersonal skills. Shannon, along with the rest of the staff such as Helio are truly amazing and very helpful, makes visiting Salt Quays a pleasure. Highly recommend!

Salt Quays location next to the Thames is the standout feature and add to that the free parking for customers and it has a good recipe for a decent night out. However the food was nothing to shout about, my pie, mash and gravy was a bit sad. The consistency of the mash was that of wallpaper paste. Everyone in my party either didn’t much like their food or described it as just edible. You can tell it was frozen and definitely not fresh. Drinks were fine I had a nice caramel apple cocktail which I loved. Service was ok, just annoying to be told multiple times that we needed to finish our food and leave the upstairs dining area by 5.30pm when we first got there and throughout our time when it was over 1 hour away yet. We were trying to celebrate a friends birthday and leaving do ffs.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner from the friendly team, near the River Thames. We celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary here.

We had our mums celebration of life here in the main bar area and from start to finish the staff was brilliant they could not have done anymore to make the day any easier for us as a family. I came here on a summers afternoon and had a really great time! The beer garden over looking the river is fantastic and the whole place had a really good atmosphere. The staff are very friendly as well and were doing a great job despite how busy it was . This is the perfect place to come with a group of friends for a drink and some good pub grub. I’ll definitely be coming back!

My family and myself have Just come away from having Christmas Dinner here for the 6th year! I can’t believe how lovely dinner was today, the portion sizes was unbelievable! I have never been so full in my life 😂. The staff absolutely worked their butts off, we can’t thank you all enough. Shannon thank you for fitting us in as we left it so late this year to book, we will see you in the new year and look forward to spending it with yous again next year. This pub is directly on the Thames around the corner from my Mum’s flat. Awesome fish and chips; a huge portion of wonderful flaky fish, with perfectly cooked chips. The steak and ale pie and mashed potatoes were delicious; with a yummy crust, lovely beef and potato filling, ale gravy and the perfect mash. The interior is filled with wood paneling, big tables, with huge windows to view the Thames, decorated all over for Christmas! Amy the barmaid, was very warm, and our food arrived very promptly. Was a wonderful meal and experience. Have visited many times and have always left full and happy, also perfect to spend the afternoon in the summer sipping on pints or glasses of fizz!

2nd time visiting here and the staff were great! We ordered from the new Christmas menu, didn’t have the Turkey dinner available which is fine as we had the Turkey pie instead which will suffice. Always a good atmosphere in here and it’s dog friendly.

Staff are always exceptional, so friendly and attentive. Didn’t get food this time but their mulled wine is definitely my favourite so far. Will visit again.

Just went for Sunday roast as it’s our local pub and we have been a lot for drinks before, it’s a great location and has a nice atmosphere. HOWEVER the Sunday roast we just had was dire. I don’t know how they can charge people for this abysmal food. The meat was precooked, dry and leathery. We ordered extra pigs in blankets which were served cold, both bacon and sausage were undercooked. The roast potatoes seemed like cheap part-cooked packet spuds . I’ve never tasted cauliflower cheese in my life like this before, it didn’t taste either of cauliflower or cheese! On the plus side, the staff were lovely. It’s just a shame they are made to serve this crap. They have lost a customer!

This has always been an excellent location along the river and the food has improved to a very good standard recently, however to order the food you have to deal with the bar staff who, as many reviews have already noted, are very rude and seem to go out of their way to be unpleasant to customers. This ruined our Sunday lunch experience and we will not be returning.

Many options of beers on tap, bottles and cocktails. The view that Salt Quay has from the river is quite enjoyable, worth a few drinks.

We really wanted to like this meal. Our daughter lives next door and we visit for one month yearly. It is such a pretty location but she and her friends warned us about the food. Went for Sunday roast as the latest reviews were pretty good. The sirloin roast was not edible. What wasn’t fat and gristle was shoe leather. Hard to cut into. Had to leave most of our dinner. The staff was very nice but so disappointed with the meal. We will not be back.

Unplanned impromptu stop at this lovely spot during our walk along the Thames Path. Very impressed with the food, staff and service brilliant. Toilets very clean to - amazing experience thoroughly recommend. Good value

Very good meals and good attitude of the floor waiters, but the bar service is terrible, there was a female bartender who one of the others bartender comments was the manager, she was very rude and with a bad attitude, we ask for a Virgin Mary and other drinks and she almost thruth the drinks at us , later we spill the cocktail without trying and we ask kindly if she can give us another drink and her answer was not nice. I know this is not a five start hotel but manners should always be apply. The place hace an amazing view and great location. I recommend a bit of customer service training for the bar staff.

Great Sunday roast , large portions also lovely outdoor beer garden overlooking the river. Child friendly too , the children's roast dinners were a good size and at only £4.50 worth the price. A lovely birthday meal and drinks with the family ❤️

Friend and I went for late lunch on 13 April. Service originally was reasonable with quick service and the waitress asking how our food was. We had ordered food together with 2 glasses of wine - a red and a white. After taking several sips of the red to ensure we weren't being unreasonable about it, I subsequently brought it to their attention that the red wine tasted off. Without even tasting our glass of wine (perhaps there was health and safety concerns) the lady at the bar insisted that it was from a new bottle and that there was nothing wrong with it. Suffice to say, I did not get a replacement, we ended up wasting £8 on a glass of red that was off and a bad taste in my mouth (literally and figuratively). I appreciate management strives to provide good service. However, I would strongly recommend, perhaps, that bar staff get given additional customer service training particularly when handling genuine customer complaints. And that when it might be difficult to identify a genuine customer complaint (which ours was)- to give the customer the benefit of the doubt instead of making the customer feel like a fraud.
