Just the perfect restaurant for quality food and service. The lobster and prawn risotto is a must, the seafood curry is excellent and the Korean ribs are so tasty, you’ll want again. Great value for money.

Just a lovely evening out. Absolutely delicious food - prawn and lobster risotto, salt cod fritters plus great desserts. Charming staff and a warm and friendly atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend any higher.

Our fourth visit over the last couple of years when we've been down in the St Merryn area. From a warm welcome to a fond farewell the evening was perfect. For a couple of reasons I'm unable to eat large meals these days. So the Current Mrs C. (40 years and counting) shared four starters as a tapas like meal. Crab, Salt Cod, Cornish Fish, Scallops and Octopus fitted the bill perfectly. Al the waiter is a lovely bloke, even Nev the medium sized ginger dog who's usually very fussy as to who he'll talk to, warmed to him. Best wishes to Dave and Gloria for the imminent arrival of a bundle of joy. We'll be back when you resurface.

Return visit to this wonderful restaurant. The food was fantastic, tasty and beautifully presented. The staff are warm, knowledgeable and very friendly.

Such a relaxing venue. Made to feel welcome by the staff. We brought a dog who was not a problem. The food was excellent with the potions on the large side. We had the Lobster, Prawn and Crayfish Risotto and the Confit Belly Pork. Both were superb the only negative was we both liked the look of the gorgeous puddings but we're too full to have any. We will certainly return here on our return to St Merryn next year.

Absolutely wonderful food. We had starters, mains and dessert. Stand out dishes were the mussels starter, steak (one of the best rib eyes we've ever had) and theo lobster, prawn and crayfish risotto. Portion sizes were spot on. Certainly the beat restaurant of the area and well worth a visit!

Absolutely gorgeous town restaurant. Super lovely staff and the food was incredible. All three courses were delicious and presented perfectly. The ribs literally fell off the bone and were to die for! Will definitely be coming back next holiday!

We were so pleased to be back at Salt and Samphire - a year is a long wait! Our meal was absolutely delicious, fantastic menu and beautifully cooked food. We were a booking of 15, celebrating our mums 80th birthday, right from initial contact, David couldn’t of done more for us he accommodated special dietary needs, he created additional dishes for us which was much appreciated, the food was delicious we would definitely recommend Staff were all lovely thanks to everyone for a great night

Lovely meal, had the Korean ribs and honey parfait dessert- that was the star of the show. Great to watch the chefs in action. Bought my dog who was given a water bowl and his own little plate of treats, so he was pleased! Everyone was very friendly and being a solo traveller, it was a nice evening, where I felt safe. I would definitely eat here again.

We had our first, but not last, meal at this fab place whilst on holiday in nearby Padstow. What a great experience it was. The food was outstanding and the staff were so helpful and friendly. The chefs are on hand in the open kitchen in case we had any questions and they were happy to explain how they produced their exceptional food. We had Korean ribs and Durban curry. Both were unbelievable and like nothing we had tasted before. This restaurant is a must for foodies! We can't wait for a return visit.

Have been meaning to try Salt & Samphire for ages! Why did I leave it so long!? Really interesting menu choices & lovely staff. The food was amazing … muy rico!!! Wonderful food with an interesting wine list and literally just round the corner from our holiday home. The lobster bisque (on special) and sea bass with chorizo and clams were particularly good. Our Cornish favourite

We weren’t fantastically famished so went for some olives to share as an appetiser. Probably a poor move as it seemed they just been tipped from a jar to a serving bowl! Not particularly tasty and no sauce or juice to enrich flavour. My steak with chips, tomatoes and mushrooms was ok! My wife fancied the tamarind and ginger ribs. These were served very well done and she was disappointed! The dog enjoyed the leftovers! Waiting staff were attentive and pleasant! Probably somewhere we won’t return to, which is a shame!

Living locally, I had been told I should try this restaurant and can report that I was pleasantly surprised. The staff are charming, the food good and well presented and I liked watching the chefs at work. The prices were on the high side for a regular meal out but we shall visit again in due course.

We were on holiday and this was our first visit. From the minute we walked in to when we left we were looked after so well. The staff members were really knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The food was the best we’d had in Cornwall. The seafood risotto particularly stood out. But then everything else, including desserts and wine were very good too. We will definitely return when we can. Thank you.

My second review in as many years – because they’re worth it! Again we ate here 3 times during our 2 week stay. Food still amazing. Last year Goan curry – this year Saffy’s Durban curry – just as good as the Goan. And can highly recommend the Sweet potato and spinach tikki for starters – I had it each visit! Desserts differ each night, but the Biscotti cheesecake was to die for. Added to that, warm and friendly hosts and lovely atmosphere. What more could you ask for? Other than to have them on our doorstep!

Really glad we booked this quirky restaurant. The staff were lovely, and the food made the tastebuds tingle. I had mussels with a spicy twist to start followed by bass with creamed celeriac, and mango panacotta for desert. My husband had seafood risotto. My only regret was that we didn’t find the restaurant earlier in the holiday as we would have booked twice.

The owners are really lovely people, always very welcoming. We had great service and a delicious Megrim sole. Good value for money as the headline price includes all veg. The white Rioja is also delicious. If you are holidaying around St Merryn I would definitely choose to go here rather than shlep into Padstow.

The best meal we had in Cornwall! The durban curry was delicious, and the Korean Ribs were melt in your mouth fabulous! We’ve already recommended this place to family who live in the area and we’ll definitely return the next time we’re down.
