Came across this place and was very pleasantly surprised. The service was polite and friendly and the place looks inviting.The burrito I had was well sized and was delicious. Could've maybe had a dash more flavour, but overall, very enjoyable meal.Highly recommend this place!

Despite booking in advance, we were asked for photo i.d. As a group in our 50's this felt unnecessary and had not been communicated in advance. On reflection, afterwards, we realised that we were relieved not to have entered a venue that is so dangerous it needs everyone to have photo I.d. and scanners.

Extremely slow service, staff don’t seem to know what they are doing. We ordered our food and drinks with one member after over 30 mins we was still waiting for the starter(nachos) then had to order from another member. When we got our bill which should have come to £78.50 they put a service charge on of £19.01 , which I find a lot for poor service.

Drinks were tasty but the tapas we got was delicious! The bar staff were good however they did serve others first even though I was waiting there the longest.

Delicious food and cocktails. Waiter was lovely but under pressure covering in his own so didn't get planned second drink. When the salsa lessons start it's really loud, could do with turning down teacher's mike a little so non dancers can still enjoy their evening.

Had a generally good time but only realised after that I had been charged full price for some cocktails during happy hour.

I attended with friends for a birthday, and despite the food being nice, it was almost impossible as someone with an allergy. I don't usually write reviews, but I feel it is important to make others who may be visiting with an allergy aware. When ordering my food, I told the waiter I had a nut allergy and we had a full conversation about the menu and my allergy etc, leading me to believe this would be sufficient warning that I could not eat nuts. We were eating from a set menu which included a 'welcome cocktail' which arrived soon after. My friend drank some and said it tasted overwhelmingly like it had almonds in it. We asked the staff who then confirmed it did indeed have almonds in. My friend went to speak to the woman in charge on the night to question it, and was met with a very defensive conversation, calling my friend aggressive and criticising me for not raising the issue myself. I was then told that I hadn't informed the waiter of my allergy (I, and everyone else on my table, could confirm this was untrue) and that I would be safe to drink it. I told the woman that having lived with the allergy for 23 years, I am the person who would know what I can and can't drink/eat, and that I would go into anaphylactic shock if I had drunk the cocktail. The waiter himself apologised profusely which was appreciated, but the manager was incredibly defensive and aggressive toward us from then on, and it tainted the rest of the evening for us. I felt uneasy about eating the rest of the food and drinks, something allergy sufferers will be all too aware of. The atmosphere and food was lovely, and most of the staff were too, but anyone with an allergy should think twice about eating/drinking here.

Came here for wife’s birthday food and drink. The food was delicious and great portion sizes. Really cannot fault the food so delicate and flavoursome. We arrived what looked like shortly after opening. The gent on the floor was great host. The cocktails in this place are exceptional actually. We took advantage of their happy hour as any good person would…….. amazing flavours and my wife in a piña colada connoisseur she’s had them from all over as she was very impressed. My drinks are equally as tasty and such a good size too. We had small plates for stats and main food too. Wish we could have stayed for desserts. The back of house team you are doing a great job. Your hard work is paying off. Very happy couple and I can only imagine how lovely this place is. Great vibes. Well done team

The DJ ( José Luis) was super rude with me I came to ask for one song he directly said to me not asked me because not . And personally he can do a better remix not only the reggaeton and salsa . This bar is more than , is a Latin place so is supposed to play more music than that. I’ve been before here for the last five years and they always play a better remix and the dj always super kind with everyone. I am thinking not to come here and go to the other salsa place where is better music than here . And is the second time

Popped in for a drink and a dance on a Saturday evening- we hadn't booked so we had to pay £5 on the door which I thought was very reasonable for London in 2023 (I'm sure I was paying that in Southend in 2003!) Bottle of prosecco was £25, which, again, I thought was very reasonable given that down the road 3 hours previously I had paid £40 in thirst! Venue was reasonably clean, music was good- they were doing some Salsa dance class but I did not partake as there was no glasses on the dance floor. Overall a nice venue and would return.

This place used to be nice not sure what has happend here however it was too busy and over crowded. Everything was great except the Asian waiter supervisor with the walk-in talking was arrogant and rude. All Other staffs were friendly and amazing. He didn’t want to listen to the food request, could not communicate properly and then it took so long and then came to disturb and harass us during the dance lesson to say we couldn’t leave food on the table. What an idiot and a loser cause we so enjoyed our night, so much so that we given the overall place 5 stars and 1 star for the food and service.

I went there with 2 other friends and we had a great time. The bartender who served us, his name is Edis, was amazing and really friendly. We will definitely go again as soon as possible!!

Service was awful, demanded ID when we got in, didn’t have our passports on us so we were turned away. There is no mention of this when booking - shocking communication. Do not recommend they were extremely rude.

We turned up to our booking to eat and turned away because we did not have an id in person, but on a photo so to not lose it in busy London, whilst I understand needing to show proof of age this was NOT well communicated on the website when I booked over a month ago. When looking at our booking it does say that you need your ID, but it is small and at the bottom of the page which you have to scroll to see and I did not look at when seeing we had a confirmation, this needs to be better . Real shame as was really looking forward to it

This place is really nice, cheap drinks, tasty food and incredible atmosphere with dance classes!! Ideal to come over with friends, we had so much fun!!!

My friend and I booked a carnival package for the evening. We got there and was given a table extremely close to the dance floor. We asked to sit in one of the empty tables at the back. Was told a blunt no. I queried this again to witness the manager strop over, roll her eyes and say flat out no. I asked to speak to the manager personally and again she replied no with a disgusting attitude. I pulled her up on her attitude and I got a half arsed sorry, but we still sat where we was told.We went to order our food which we had pre paid for to be told they weren't doing that offer that night. We was expecting a free cocktail and a shot along with a 3 course meal but was told we couldn't have it all.Got the bill and they tried to charge us £83 on top of what we had already pre paid. Again, I queried this and they changed it.But overall a stressful evening. We left after eating. Couldn't wait to get out of such a hostile and unfriendly environment.Such a shame. They only needed to explain, we are quite friendly girls. But unfortunately rubbed us up the wrong way with their appalling customer service.

Booked and pre paid for their £25 early bird.Greeted by a very rude front desk girl who demanded ID , (youngest in our party 32)no mention of this on their confirmation .Shown to a table that no matter how many menus were put under the table leg still rocked like a boat in a storm .Eventually got seated elsewhere .Food and drinks order taken.Starters arrived ( very nice ), waited and waited and waited for drinks ,one missing when they eventually arrive .After an hour our desserts were bought out , errr hold on what about our mains .The waiter then apologised and said they would start cooking them .FFS.Ordered another drink mains arrived followed by desserts , still no drinks even after repeated requests .Paid and left 3 hours after arriving , would have walked earlier but having pre paid felt we had no choice but to bite bullet and staySUMMARY ... rude front desk , inept bar and waiting staff on the plus side the food was tasty and good value

Awful service, rude and unhelpful. Very bad cocktails, all just milk. Booked a table for a birthday, didn’t find out we had to sit outside in the freezing cold until we arrived. Finally fifteen minutes after ordering we were told lots of our food was not available.Would not reccomend to worst enemy

this was literally the absolute worst experience i’ve had in a restaurant. we were sat outside in the cold even though we had a booking now one informed us there was a party booking which filled the whole inside, the cocktails were so bad we sent them back, after around an hour after initially arriving we were told a majority of our food wasn’t even available so we left the restaurant. a truly awful experience.

I visited this place as part of my partners 30th birthday celebrations meeting 2 friends. I had high expectations it would be a good night however i was dissapointed. The drinks (2 cocktails and 2 soft drinks) too half an hour to come! The starters came before the drinks!! The mains i wanted a chimichanga was out of stock as was the tacos i then changed too! I then ordered 3 tapas bits one of which the meatballs were cold. The waitress got the order for food all wrong. We then ordered more drinks and 40 minutes later we were STILL waiting for them! After that terrible service they added a £12 service charge!!!! My personal opinion i wouldnt go again and i wouldnt recommend it. Service is terrible, food average, drinks take AGES.

We went on a Sunday and had the best night ever! There were these dancers getting everyone to dance and the atmosphere was amazing! We’ll be going back again :)

Tried to go to this place with 2 work colleagues whilst down in London, as a dancer I’ve never had a problem getting in but tonight we were told it was £5 each to get in (they subsequently let a fair few people in without paying) plus they wanted full photo ID despite the fact all 3 of us were obviously over 25, I can only conclude we didn’t fit the profile of clientele this time. None of us were intoxicated so what was the issue?Went across the road to a very nice pub and we must have spent around £100+ so Salsa Soho have missed out on trade due to biased rude and obnoxious door staff, my advice would be to go elsewhere.

This place has the best vibe ever! Amazing music playing and the best staff! Bilel was so much fun and was so attentive! He made the night so fun, by far the best waiter I have ever come across, GO BILEL!

1) NO 'FREE' SALSA LESSONS ON THURSDAYS:* I made a booking in Salsa Bar Soho on Thursday 07/10/2021 for ten people to celebrate my work leaving do. Salsa bar advertises on the website the picture that I'm uploading to this review, saying that they have a 'Free Intro Salsa Class' at 07:00 Pm. and the 'Cross Body salsa' begins at 07:30 Pm giving the impression that you'll get a 30 min free class.* The man they featured in the ad is the person coordinating the class, and I had to chase him between 07:00 Pm until 07:20 Pm for the lesson. But he was claiming that they don't give free classes on Thursdays. I had to explain that I had invited ten people to my leaving drinks and persuaded them for the free class. I had to show him a picture of my booking, and while giving me a terrible attitude, he said that he would use the image for the club to pay his class and acted like he was doing me a favour. In the end, my friends got a 10 MINUTE 'free' class, only because I chased the man.2) TWO PEOPLE SERVING DRINKS DURING HAPPY HOUR:They only had two people serving drinks during the happy hour, and even though we arrived at the club at 5:30 Pm. we had to do a massive queue to get drinks because there was too much demand for the number of people serving. After the happy hour, there were more people serving drinks.3) IF YOU BOOK THE BOOTH NEAR THE DANCE FLOOR, YOU HAVE TO ORDER FOOD FROM THE BARIf you book booths near the dance floor, they don't take orders at the table, even for food. So, if you want to order food you have to make a queue of hundreds of people to order food too.4) THEY DON'T COLLECT EMPTY BOTTLES OR GLASSES FROM THE TABLE:We were ten people sitting in two booths. We arrived at 05:30 Pm. By the time we left at 09:30 pm., nobody had bothered collecting them even once. We left because we had so many empty bottles that we could not put anything else on the tables.5) YOU CAN'T USE THE DANCEFLOOR UNLESS YOU PAY FOR THE CLASS:The lessons take over the dancing floor, and if you just want to dance on your own or with your friends for fun without following the class, the teachers keep badgering you to prove that you had paid for the class.

It's Saturday - 7:30pm. We arrive, the excitement is palpable. We walk down the stairs and through the crowds into the restaurant, a skip in the step of all eight in our group, excited for the evening ahead, here to celebrate our friend's birthday. The waitress arrives, we order our first drink each - here we go. It's Saturday - 8pm. We're still waiting for our first drink and they haven't come to take our food order. I'm beginning to get nervous. It's Saturday - 8:30pm. Still no drinks, and finally, after asking three separate waiters, someone takes our food order. It's Saturday - 9pm, our first drink still hasn't arrived. Whilst the others may have ordered a fancy cocktail, I ordered a corona. A corona that I can see in plain sight, sitting behind the fridge door around six metres from the table. I ask the waitress if I can fetch it myself, seeing as no one in this restaurant is capable of opening the fridge door; maybe I am the special one, maybe all my training has prepared me for this? No, she says. Only she may do it. I wait ten more minutes for her to open the fridge door. It's Saturday, 9:10pm - the first set of drinks have arrived. Almost in disbelief we stare at them, unsure whether they are real. Tears of joy glisten in our eyes and we sip on them, only to realise that the straws have already disintegrated and do not work.It's Saturday, 9:40pm, and here it is, the food. We wait, ravenous, for the waiter to unpack the tray as he, a man of skill, balances it half on the table and half over the edge - playing with us. In an attempt to defy gravity, he removes the half of the tray balanced on the table first; but physics fights back, throwing the remaining plates to the floor! Three of us watch our meals lie splattered across the floor. At this stage I am unsure what's worse - to wait further or have to eat the food served? Half of those about to eat realise that the order they have been served is incorrect, and they dutifully send it back. It's Saturday, 10pm - miraculously we all now have our meals; you'd have almost thought it's a microwave job with the speed they reappeared? Keeping up with service standards, the food quality remained shocking and three of the orders were still incorrect, but we ate them anyway; the shitmunchers we are. It's Saturday, 10:30pm - after three attempts at asking for the bill - clearly they just wanted to keep us there forever, purgatory for our sins - the bill is served, delightfully overpriced and wholly unrepresentative of the service and quality. Raising our concerns that perhaps we had not been treated seriously as customers, we were told that the restaurant was busy and that they frankly didn't care. Their generosity extended to taking 15 British pounds off the bill's total; a feat of kindness that deserves national recognition. Monday, 10:45am - I can't stop thinking about Salsa Soho. Please never make me go back there.

We visited Salsa! on a Friday evening, seeking a place to enjoy some food before an evening show. We were fortunate enough to stumble upon this place, even more so as it was Happy Hour. We managed to down some very tasty cocktails at discount prices, along with two tasty mains. I went for salmon, which was very nicely prepared. My partner indulged in Cajun Chicken, and very much enjoyed her meal also. The staff were excellent overall, and were very pleasant. It was altogether a very pleasing experience!

I tried to avoid submitting this review by contacting and liaising with manager Tonino, at Bar Salsa Soho but sadly he decided to ignore my experience.I feel this review is necessary for other people of colour who should be aware and vigilant to disparate standards of service at this venue.I attended the salsa bar on 11th September 2021 and the cloakroom attendant Lumia, was the rudest I've ever encountered.She threw my bag down, lied about her name when asked and called me a stupid woman in front of another customer.This alone would have been cause for complaint, but what galled the most was witnessing the same attendant serve a white customer, seconds later with 100% attentiveness, smiles and politeness.Lumia did not know me and yet for some unbeknown reason she was unable to offer me that level of service.I've attended the salsa bar many times over the last 20 years (for salsa lessons or just nights out with friends) so for context and in a desire to be objective, this experience was not typical and previous attendants have been lovely.Sadly, the response from the management means my relationship with this venue is at an end as racism should never be condoned or excused under any circumstances.People of colour are often told we are too sensitive.. The reason for disparate treatment I was told, was not race (in this case a bereavement was blamed) however this undermining of our lived experience has to stop!I am forewarning all - go, have a good night out if you wish, but if you notice the way you are treated differs to those with Caucasian hues.. don't be gas lit... call it out!

Food & drink is good but the service is so poor.

Really poor quality from start to finish.We arrived at 1655 for a 1700 table. The host at the front desk looked at us like we had three heads, then told us she would have to "check". She came back to advise us that the restaurant was closed, and opened at 1700 so we had to wait upstairs until we were called.We asked to sit outside at street level, and were advised that this was fine, but to order drinks downstairs and food upstairs. We were there for tapas, but when I went to order our first few dishes from the host, she included a £4.15 "service charge" (for ordering our own food) and when I questioned this I was told it was applicable each and every time I ordered from the outside seating area!! At this point we reverted to eating downstairs in the restaurant.The restaurant staff were courteous but the food was poor. The "reggae" sauce was just plain BBQ sauce, similar to McDonalds - not jerk flavour. The Gambas Pil Pil was plain prawns, with salad and bread. Etc.There are also many signs touting 50% off drinks, but some of them (not all) have small print saying "up to 50% off". There is no further information, and (unsurprisingly) not a single drink that we ordered was 50% off - all were a smaller discount.We were the only diners in the restaurant - perhaps that should have been a red flag.Avoid.

Amazing place with great food and atmosphere. The lovely team make each of my visits pleasant and super good, more than 5 stars every time!!
