It's really worthwhile to order a selection of lighter dishes, or starters, and share them. It makes for a really good dining experience at the Giraffe. Have also tried the breakfast, and that was really very good.

So this is G1. Its a training restaurant for all the Giraffe restaurants.Food is so so so fresh and zesty. Very great textures and combos - avocado in my burger? yes please.Service was great. You can tell they're doing things by the book and not freestyling as if they had a lot of experience but the book is written for a reason - its the right way to do it!They give discounted prices due to training staff. You'll struggle to find prices like this for similar places in London, certainly not Hampstead.the place is quite small though. Feels a little cramped. That's my only negative.

Okay so this was the first Giraffe in the UK but has been reopened as G1 with a different menu and set prices. We booked a table online. Reminded via email that we had done so and arrived to a table waiting for us. Restaurant smaller than I was expecting. Service was good and the food was very good. Slightly spicy for my liking but not for the rest of us. The Thai Green Curry was very good and the duck stir fry looked good. Kids had burgers - must try and develop their taste buds!! Drinks reasonable and the smooothies were great. As usual we ordered too much and could have got away with a main course and a desert. Very busy when we arrived and thinned out by the time we left on a Sunday evening.

Hampstead is posh and lovely and has some great place's to eat, I would say most of them are well over priced but not Giraffe. We had lunch and i have to tell you it was just so good. I took the burger fries my friend to the omelette with salad with both had a soft drink each and it was under £20.00 and yes we were in Hampstead. The staff and the service is very good but what's even better the food and the price, so get in there today your going to love it.

Visited GI whilst in Hampstead collecting my daughters Uni stuff. We had a look into Hampstead and walked past GI which I now know is Giraffe. Super cheap at around £7 a main course. I had the chicken club burger. My daughter the eggs benedict which were on the specials board and my wife had a steak burger thing which was on the outside menu but not the one we were given but they said no problem they could make it anyway. Food was really good. The service was really good, really nice staff, the atmosphere relaxed and chilled. The bill for our party of three with drinks was only £30! Bargain. Next time I visit Hampstead this is where I'll eat. I highly recommend a visit. Oh and get the hippy hippy shake, it's tasty!

My third visit solo to this cafe. Warm smiling staff, quick service and a vegetarian 'laksa' - a Malaysian dish, is extra ordinary from the ordinary, is a must try. Not authentic but good to try for a change. A noodle broth with coconut cream as it's curry and loads of veg in there. I'll be back to this cute cafe that lies along branded stores on this street.

After a long walk on the Heath we were hungry and thought Giraffe in Hampstead would be ideal for a late lunch/early dinner. Having been to many branches and enjoyed the food it l seemed a good idea. We had to sit outside as we had our dog with us but we are used to that . The waitress took our order telling her that we were hungry and could the food be made and brought to us as soon as possible The drinks came in a few minutes then the wait for the food (only two hamburgers) began. After 20 minutes I went to the desk and asked when the meal would be ready . It looked like they could not find the details as they had to ask me who took my order. The clowns at the desk said it would be a few minutes. After five minutes I told the waitress I would only wait 2 more minutes as my partner is diabetic and she couldn't wait any longer. As you can guess it never turned up so I went inside and told them we were leaving if the food was not ready at that moment. One clown at the desk said it would still be some time.Apparently they had lost the ticket which they had not mentioned first time I complained so they could cover it up and keep us waiting.Cant really talk about the food as we never got it but I have my reservations about it.Really poor staff that need to sweep the streets as they have no other talents. Tesco should be proid how they have turned a really good place to eat into a no go zone. Avoid at all costs

This restaurant is known as G1, and we took a table outside on the street in the warm February sunshine to do a bit of people watching. It was not until we studied the menu that we discovered that this was a Giraffe restaurant, on the site of the very first branch. It is a training site and apparently they try out new dishes here. We had loaded sandwiches which appear on the normal Giraffe menu at a couple of pounds more - result! Quite small inside, but cosy, with newspapers to read. The staff we encountered seemed to want to be there. It's London, so we checked for a service charge before tipping. Yep, 12.5% - no biggy.

We did plan to eat here for the convenience relating to its location - until we received our first bill.By the way food and service was fine not an issue as was the quality that was good. The issue -- they threw a 12.5% service charge on the bill- we only noticed once we had left the venue so we feel ripped off. The 12.5% on the bill was actually less than what we where going to leave. On principle we not going back and have marked the place down.

I used to visit the Belsize Park (NW3) branch often with my family. My 4 year old daughter always loved it. It was one of the few places besides Pizza Express and Las Iguanas that she would eat without any fuss.Sadly... since the restaurant has been taken over by Tesco, the bean counters have moved in and are gradually reducing the quality of food, cleanliness and customer service. It's a pity, it used to be a nice restaurant chain when it was in private hands, but that's what happens when a big corporation takes over a small chain.

This place looked promising. The food looked ok and prices weren't bad but the customer service was awful. We were left standing at the door whilst the waiting staff chatted. For ages! Then sent outside in the cold whilst a table was cleared. When it was cleared we weren't called back in. We just went in ourselves. Sat there for 15 mins watching waiting staff ignore us and chatting before leaving. Meanwhile we were paying 20p for every 5 mins parking outside. Feel like billing giraffe for £1.20!

The area is one of the more posh areas of London. Nice houses, nice cars, people of the upper class and tourists like us. The restaurant is a concept of Tesco's, a supermarket chain, meant to be child-friendly quite popular in the UK. You'll find these restaurant all over London.Decoration/Atmosphere is rather crowded, loud, with simple cosy decoration.Service was efficient, quick and nice. Keen to know that everything is to your convenience.Foodwise, don't expect anything extra-ordinary, the dishes are somewhat enhanced but rather traditional. In terms of prices, I think it might be a bit expensive, £40 for a family is MAYBE a LITTLE expensive for what we ate, i probably pass my way the next time but again, this can be a last minute solution.

The only buzz in this cafe was from the flies. We were treated by friends otherwise I would have suggested another venue before we had even been seated as the place looked dingy and dirty. Staff were pleasant but chaotic and untrained, unable even to wring out a cloth properly (the fetid, grey, sodden thing flicked across our smeared, lump festooned table only made matters worse) or to deliver 'a round' of anything - meals and drinks appeared singly, at random intervals throughout our 'lunch'. Presentation was risible, but this is not dangerous. Hygiene standards seemed very low, which could be. The glass my juice arrived in was revoltingly sticky, my falafel burger had a sauce which I could not eat as it tasted rancid, and my friend's pudding, which she sent back, had stale nuts on it. Our booth, at the back, was dark, sticky and cramped and subjected to a blast icy air every few minutes because 'the rest of the room was boiling' (though the flies did seem to enjoy this). The state of the ladies toilets left me gagging and I can only hope the staff had other facilities.

If you like 'assembled' food, wrong items repeatedly delivered, a forty-five minute wait, and no interest even in the assembly of the (many) pre-prepared items from the kitchen - then this is the place for you. We went there for a child's birthday lunch and it was not a good experience. So many other better places and we agree with another reviewer - there is a serious chef/cook/kitchen problem.

I have never been to a Giraffe before and would go again. Seating is on shared long tables sitting on benches which is fine for a fairly quick lunch but not for a relaxing evening. Great choice of food and a reasonable lunch special which one of my sisters opted for. I had a really good Mid Eastern veggie salad. Huge portion on a flat bread with a nice selection of veg and chopped peanuts. The description on the menu was "may contain nuts". My view is that it should state "contains nuts". We all had good meals. My only grouse was that my 2 sisters finished their meals before I did and the waitress took their plates away whilst I was still eating which made me feel a bit uncomfortable.

I went to the Belsize Park branch for lunch yesterday. The terrace is wonderful - shaded by trees, and was nicely busy. The waitress came over promptly to take our order. I tried to order a medium rare hamburger but this wasnt possible -I guess Giraffe buy their burgers in from an outside supplier , which is why the wouldnt cook it medium rare, so instead I had Heuvos Rancheros, which was addequate. Just. Much Too much cheese for my liking - in fact it resmebled a thin crust pizza with 2 fried eggs on top! my guest had a salad, which came with too much dressing. When we asked for some bread as the there simply wasnt enough food, it took 10 minutes to bring some toasted focaccia, our comment of " it's a little late now, we've almost finnished" was met with a blank stare and " enjoy your meal" It's cheap, but it feels it...

From tasting curries, Indian and Thai style, to Mexican Enchiladas, Carribean delicacies, or simply an ordinary burger which is far form ordinary in the Giraffe to go with some creative drinks. The only thing is there is not a lot of room unfortunately, so tables tend to be full any time you fancy some food there.

Myself and my daughter went to this resturant after a long day shopping in London. The resturant wasnt very busy at 9 o'clock on a Saturday night and we had the pick of the tables. My daughter had the Steak and I had a Duck Dish. The Steak was ok but my Duck dish was very spicy and I also felt that there could have been more duck in the dish. Also, while we were in the resturant there was another table of girls there and I felt that the guy who was servicing us was more interested in chatting them up then serving. We had a total of 3 people come to our table and take the different orders from us, the icing on the cake was when my daughter had ordered dessert the lady incharge came down and asked did we want to see the dessert menus!!Very expensive for 2 mains, 2 glasses of wine and one dessert approx 56 pounds.

We had not eaten breakfast in our overpriced hotel restaurant and were in the Waterloo area near the London Eye. Wandering along the South Bank near the concert halls and theatres we found the Giraffe restaurant which served a huge and delicious pancake breakfast with a very kid friendly atmosphere and good service. We liked it so much we came back for dinner one night and sat outside . Teriyaki grilled salmon with rice was delicious as were other dishes. A good family restaurant but plenty of adults and young couples eat here as well. Great to sit outside cafe style by the Thames and watch the boats and river scene. Prices very reasonable for London. This is a great area to dine. After dinner you can walk down to the London Eye and towards the more touristy areas further down the pier. Huge bookshop and theatres right next to restaurant. We did not need reservations. I thought food was better than suggested by certain guidebooks.

Excellent food here. If I say this up front, I know that I won’t forget to say it! Ask any ethnic foodie, and they will tell you that when they go out to eat food from their own ethnic heritage, the key thing they ask is whether the food they eat is better than they cook at home, whether it is tastier than Mum’s Sunday best, whether they can get the full restaurant experience. Roger’s kitchen ticks all of the boxes. Throughout the menu, there are modern twists and manifestations of traditional West Indian favourites. This should keep Caribbean heritage people happy! But the menu is targeted at food lovers from every ethnic group. Indeed, the seafood soup itself would have graced ‘The Ivy’. The starters are varied. The mains, fish, chicken, meat, flavoursome, perfectly cooked and excellently presented. The service is attentive. Roger’s kitchen is actually quite new, being on the site of a previous Caribbean restaurant, the Mango Room, but also now appears popular in its own right. We came to eat here as a family, we have been back with friends. And we will definitely be back again. Great food, great value. There is not an independent Caribbean restaurant in London that we would rather eat at. Roger’s Kitchen offers excellent modern Caribbean cuisine for the West Indian, British and International foodie. If you are travelling to London for a week, put Roger’s Kitchen on your “must eat here” list. 5 Stars.

Calidad barata, cara y no alegre.
