All Gauchos are good, but this one is really good, excellent food and attentive service and very attentive to allergies

Last night, my two friends and I were treated like absolute royalty at Gaucho Hampstead — it truly felt like a “princess treatment” from start to finish. We called on the same day requesting an outdoor table, and to our delight, we were given a beautiful spot right by the fireplace. The ambiance was perfect, and the service was beyond exceptional. A huge thank you to the wonderful manager Fation, our lovely waitress Sylvia (whose wine pairing recommendations were spot on), and the charming Italian hostess — I’m so sorry I didn’t catch your name, but your warmth and professionalism didn’t go unnoticed. From the moment we arrived, the entire team looked after us with genuine care — attentive without being intrusive, friendly without being overly formal. The food was absolutely superb, every dish cooked to perfection, and the wine paired beautifully thanks to Sylvia’s excellent suggestions. I have never been treated so well at a restaurant before. It was our first visit, but it certainly won’t be the last. Massive thanks to the whole team and the talented chefs — you made our night truly special. Can’t wait to come back!

Amazing steak, even the one included in the lunch menu, excellent service, and super dog friendly.

He was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. His recommendations were spot on, and his warm personality added to the fantastic atmosphere. Absolutely breaks my heart to leave a bad review for Gauchos. I usually LOVE eating here but the food and service yesterday was not good enough for the standards I’d expect with the money we spent. I understand it was Mother’s Day and it was a full restaurant but that should have been taken into consideration when planning the day. Our waiter was friendly but it took a while to get his attention and we ended up using 3 different waiters on the night which became really confusing and some of our orders kept being forgotten because of this. As the designated driver, I was not drinking alcohol and the Diet Coke glass bottles were so tiny and became flat quickly. They were 200ml mixer bottles rather than a standard 330 size bottle. Charging £4 for that little amount of Diet Coke felt like a scam. Not to mention the drink or price was not even on the drinks menu. The bread basket was the second tragedy of the night. We loved the bread baskets Gauchos did but last night what we received felt like a cop out to save some money. Instead of freshly oven cooked bread we received slices of a loaf of bread that were grilled - I could make this at home for 1% of the cost. The Beef Tacos we had did not state on the menu that raw beef was used and we did not enjoy it for this reason. As our waiter was busy taking orders from other tables and we could not get his attention for about 10 minutes we called another waiter over. This waiter insisted that everyone should order themselves so they know the order of food - fair enough but it came across quite blunt and cold. After about an hour wait from ordering our main dishes arrived and another waiter brought them to us and gave us all the wrong plates which we then switched over amongst ourselves. 3/5 steaks were cooked wrongly and we did send one of the ribeyes back which was rare. The two fillets which were meant to be medium were also rare. We did not want to send back too many dishes as we were hungry and tired from the waiting. The steaks were very lackluster for the price. My fillet looked so dry as if it had been sitting out for a while and there was no sear on it. My partner makes a better fillet at home for £6 from Tesco so why should I spend £38+ Service for this one. The broccoli side dish used to be so delicious with notes of garlic but this time around tasted like nothing. The mac and cheese was horrible - the old truffle recipe was FAR better. The chips were actually the only good thing of the night. Let’s not forget how you’ve also ran out of sautéed spinach. The dessert was okay, nothing really special either. I tried the apple crumble and it was way too much apple and not enough crumble - the ratio was completely off and it ended up being quite sickly because of it. Overall, spending £550 for what we received was very heartbreaking especially as it was Mother’s Day and my mum was also very disappointed. I felt like you tried to maximise profits and quality went down hill. I feel really let down by Gauchos…

Today, I had the delightful experience of dining at Gaucho in Hampstead. The food was simply spectacular, but what truly elevated this meal was the exceptional service provided by our server, Gaz. Gaz expertly explained the menu and the various cuts of meat, leaving no doubt about our choices. Between our starter and main course, one of the managers, Daniella, came over to check on us. Her warm and friendly demeanour was evident as she packed up my starter, allowing me to save my appetite for the main course. I was particularly impressed by Daniella’s attentiveness and teamwork. She efficiently cleared tables for other diners, showcasing her ability to create a positive and efficient dining environment. This exceptional service and food make Gaucho one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the eight years I’ve lived in England.

Petrit our waiter was exceptional. Explained and recommended which made our dining more enjoyable. Good, service and atmosphere were lovely.

Doggy Saturday has lost its touch and no longer feels like a special day out for our fur babies. There was no sponsor, no doggy gift bag and the dog meal was average. Gaucho had organised dog yoga at 11am however this was not communicated clearly and the day out certainly didn’t feel worth the money. In the past this was an amazing day out with the dogs, but sadly no longer so.

Amazing food and great service! Was really good atmosphere! I recommend to book a table rather than walk in. The only reason why I don’t give 5* was because I didn’t like much the hosting.. We had mine and my husband’s birthday dinner, we walked in and they told us that wasn’t any table available this was on valentines night and we completely understood, they invited us to sit on the terrace.. and after few minutes they found a table that was available for 3hours which I found more than enough time frame to have a dinner.. Anyways, All gauchos are amazing and the food always 10/10 ! We had a great time and definitely coming back soon as is the closest we have around home! ✨

Wow what can I say after dining here for over 25 years yet again another 10/10 steak 🥩 Huber made us feel totally welcome with 5 star Service. I had the ribeye and my husband had the fillet it was unreal, literally like butter!

En primer lugar, debemos mencionar que el nivel de servicio que recibimos fue el mismo que el de todos los demás comensales, lo apreciamos mucho. En segundo lugar, la comida era brillante. Para empezar, mi compañero tenía el taco tártaro de ternera y yo los langostinos... sabor increíble y sabor limpio. Para la red los dos tuvimos la estaca de ron de nuevo, ambos filetes se cocinaron perfectamente a como pedimos, las patatas fritas y la salsa en el lado era brillante. Queríamos también señalar la calidad del filete de nuevo encantador, sin grageas ni grasa. El restaurante, los baños y nuestra mesa estaba limpia y cómoda. Cada miembro del personal que pasamos a nuestro lado en nuestro camino decir adiós también ... esto fue un toque muy agradable, gracias a todos. For starters my partner had the beef Tatar taco and I had the prawns ..... amazing flavour and clean tasting. For mains we both had the rump stake again, both steaks were cooked perfectly to how we asked, the chips and sauce on the side was brilliant. We wanted to also point out the quality of the steak again lovely, no gristle or fat. The restaurant, bathrooms and our table was clean and comfortable. Every member of staff that we walked past on our way out say bye as well ... this was a really nice touch, thank you every one. Lovely branch of Gaucho's we we defiantly be coming back here!!!!

Fast service, and delicious fillet steak ( medium rare) , with a complimentary birthday desert to finish off… a very lovely touch….. Nice decor , though some upholstery could do with some updating…. plus some light background music in the afternoon would give a special/exclusive touch !

Absolute diamond of a place to go to eat , our party consisted of 4 and our booking wasn't until 3.45 but we got there well early and they were more than happy for us to be seated and to order when ready. We ordered off the set menu and the food was ace, defnitely the best steak I've had, it was followed by the dessert as opposed to having the starter and mains and i couldn't fault it a single bit, all the staff were pleasant just unfortunate I didn't get any names to give them a specific mention ..thank you so much.

I went to Gaucho in Hampstead with my daughters for a birthday dinner. Upon arrival Hiba on the front desk immediately wished my daughter happy birthday and proceeded to ask her how her celebrations have been. We were then seated and our waitress Sinziana also wished my daughter happy birthday and asked how her day had been so far. We felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant with so much attention, the food menu explained in detail and a special happy birthday dessert for my daughter. My daughter felt very special but above all this dinner was exquisite. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Hiba and Sinziana for making our dinner such a special experience.

The service was excellent, and the Prawn Chicharron on the set lunch menu was hands down the best fish I've ever had and easily one of the best dishes I've ever enjoyed.

Fantastic steaks cooked to perfection. Service was very nice and food very good. Sides were nice too- loved the tender stem broccoli and the chips. Pity they’ve taken the spinach and the humitas off the menu as those were always my must haves previously. The mocktail was overpriced at £9.50 for literally a small cup of liquid. However, overall lovely food, service and ambience.

I don't think this restaurant deserves this rating. The price is very high for the very little and ok minus food that you get. £35 for a 200 gram steak sirloin? really? I had to go for the set menu and took the rump which is definitely not my favourite to make this meal somehow rewarding for the price. Very not flexible in terms of the choice of sides in the set menu. Try flat iron - half the price, double the quality.

Ordered on Deliveroo just now and the meat smells rank, threw it in the bin tried eating the mac and cheese it’s the worst I have ever eaten now waiting for my new order. Gaucho used to be amazing not sure what’s going on with this brand it’s going downhill very very quickly

Burger not hot enough so it was replaced but I ended up eating at a different time to my family and there was no offer of a free drink or anything . Would have been nice

From the moment we arrived, the front-of-house team welcomed us warmly. The service throughout the evening was nothing short of outstanding. Special recognition goes to Chad, the restaurant manager, whose attention to detail and genuine care for our comfort made all the difference. He checked in regularly to ensure we were enjoying our evening, always with a professional yet warm demeanor that set the tone for an exceptional meal. We started with a selection of starters, including the scallops, which were a true highlight. The quality, taste, and presentation were impeccable, leaving my mother amazed. The Winter Rum cocktail was another standout—rich, warming, and perfectly balanced. When it came to the mains, each of us chose a different steak, and they did not disappoint. My mother, who was initially hesitant, was absolutely thrilled. She declared it the best steak she had ever eaten, a sentiment that truly made our evening special. Seeing her joy brought immense satisfaction to us as a family. Daniella, another manager, was equally delightful. Gaucho Hampstead gave us an incredible evening! The food was delicious, and the service was spot-on—friendly and attentive throughout. What made the night unforgettable was the amazing Tango Night with professional dancers. The energy and passion they brought made the whole experience so special. Overly a very poor experience! Having requested upon my booking for some space for the buggy of our newborn, we were told by front of house that they did not have any space inside to accommodate us and suggested to use the outdoor space, that although is a heated space is still an outside space. We refused this option, and a space under, and as requested, was found for us. When we walked around the space we noted a few areas where a buggy could be accommodated. Just bizarre behaviour from front of house. Regarding food, we went for the roast, and could not be more disappointed. Beef was well cooked but tasteless, potatoes not probably baked, and no apologies sent when we pointed this out, just sent us more potatoes instead, also poorly baked and hard. The gravy was more of a jus and with really no flavour. The best part were really the vegetables, which is incredible disappointing when you have a roast. Was the first time we went to Gaucho and after this have to say will not go back again. Very disappointed with the overall service.

Where to start. We cannot praise this restaurant and their staff enough. We dined with our 9 month old baby and also our dog. The staff pulled out all the stops for us and they couldn’t do enough. We felt special the moment we walked in, right through to leaving. The food was incredible and came through piping hot. The sommelier talked us through the wine list and recommended an incredible red to compliment our food. We would like to thank all the staff as they went above and beyond. We told the staff it was our dog’s 4 year birthday; to which they brought out a lit candle and some dog treats. Our dog was over the moon! A completely unexpected surprise and gesture. Gaucho has certainly got the right idea being dog-friendly; as we will be telling all of our friends about this and feel we’re able to return without worrying about child and dog care. On top of this, your wonderful sommelier could see that our daughter was getting a little restless as our food arrived, to which she then occupied her so that we could eat our meal. Our baby then went straight down to sleep in her pushchair after cuddles and a tour of the restaurant. You gave two new parents more than just a rare night out as a couple; you made it completely stress-free and gold-tier standard. We’re looking forward to returning again soon.

Gaucho’s doesn’t usually miss the mark but we were pretty disappointed with out experience. It was for a special birthday and I’d called ahead to ask for a nice table.. when we arrived the table was between the kitchen, coffee machine, next to the door and right by the toilets and so felt quite hectic to really relax. We complained and the staff to their credit did their best to make it up by providing aperitifs on the house. The meal was great. The bill however had over charged us with drinks we hadn’t ordered. Although once we noticed the staff were apologetic. It was a lovely evening but small touches could have made for a better experience.

The food at Gaucho was excellent as usual. The bread was warm and fresh. We sat outside and for a while were the only table there so would have been nice if we had been checked on a little more often but otherwise the service was great.

I recently attended the cigar tasting event at Gaucho Hampstead, and it was an amazing experience. It was my first time at the event, and I had the opportunity to meet some like-minded individuals, which made the evening even more enjoyable. The event itself was well-organized, and the cigars paired perfectly with the atmosphere. Gabby, our host, was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the night. Overall, it was a memorable experience, and we’re already planning to return for another tasting. Highly recommended for both cigar enthusiasts and those looking for a unique, enjoyable evening out.

Outstanding steak. Amazing service. Nice decor. Bit pricey but was the perfect place to go before the boxing it Wembley Stadium.

Never going to Gaucho Hampstead again. We were almost only ones in for lunch on a Tuesday and even then overcooked meat that cools down too quickly on unheated plates, dry chips, mean portion steak tartare, massively overpriced.

My go to restaurant when I'm craving tasty food, exceptional service, and relaxed environment. I must have visited Gaucho restaurants across the country over 100 times now over the years and they never disappoint. But the Hampstead branch in particular will always be my favourite. The whole team, from the warmly welcoming front of house, skillful bartenders, knowledgeable and perfectly attentive wait staff, and consistently talented kitchen staff just work seemlessly together to ensure me and my guests repeatedly recieve an amazing experience. The loyalty offers and generous discount is also a lovely touch to make me feel valued. Can't wait for the next visit. Thank you all as always 👍🏽

Este es un restaurante que nos encantaba hace años cuando vivíamos en el barrio. No ha pasado mucho tiempo y realmente ha resistido la prueba del tiempo. Tuvimos entrante de lubina cervichi y muy bien cocinado veta argentina. Tuvimos una agradable charla con el personal y hablamos sobre cómo había cambiado el lugar, dándonos cuenta de que de hecho eran 20 años desde la última vez que habíamos estado. Mientras disfrutaba de nuestro vino espumoso inglés, el maître d trajo un enorme plato de queso y galletas con una nota escrita en chocolate que decía “bienvenido de vuelta”. Ciertamente no lo dejaremos tanto tiempo la próxima vez. Una experiencia encantadora hecha aún mejor por el personal atento.

Came midweek at the beginning of September with our youngest daughter and had the best Gaucho meal ever. Everything was perfect, the steak, fries, peppercorn sauce and salad. We've been coming for the last twenty five years and love the ambiance and food. Service was excellent as usual. Well done!

Wonderful experience. Went for my Dad birthday. He never had steak before and the waiter explained the different cuts of meat with examples. The food was delicious, they gave us a really nice place to sit and the experience as a whole was excellent. I would go back in a heartbeat.

This Goucho in particular has exceptional service. They are always so accommodating. We have all of our family dinners here, big and small, and we are always looked after by the staff. Doesn’t hurt that the food is AMAZING as well! I highly recommend this Goucho! Thank you!

I came to celebrate my mum’s birthday and the staff at Gaucho Hampstead did everything possible to ensure that we had an incredible experience. They made my mum’s special day spectacular from start to finish but especially by bringing out a cake with “Happy Birthday” written as well as a card for her. Superb steak, superb chimichurri dressing, great attention to detail by the service staff including the wine steward, the maitre’d and manager (who was an outstanding host by offering us a discount as welcome back to Gaucho). Great location and I encourage Gaucho Hampstead to get their license sorted out for the their outdoor area so I can enjoy a decent cigar with my meal! 🥩🍂💨
