What an enjoyable dinner for our group at Salotto! Great meal and excellent service!

I had an incredible experience at Salotto 31! From the moment I walked in, the service was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. The food was absolutely excellent—each dish was prepared with care, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. You can really tell the kitchen takes pride in what they do. What truly impressed me was the wine list—an exceptional selection with a wide variety of high-quality wines to choose from. Whether you're a casual wine drinker or a connoisseur, there's something here for everyone. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a top-tier dining experience. I’ll definitely be returning!

A truly excellent Italian restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere. The service was really professional and friendly. They also offer authentic Venetian specialties that I haven’t found anywhere else in London.

Despite the restaurant’s stylish appearance, the food is very low quality. The calamari starter is listed at £17 on the menu, which made me expect something special and flavourful. But what I received was no better than a roadside diner dish — just at a shocking price. The menu is extremely expensive, but the food is very ordinary and lacks quality.

We had a wonderful experience at Salotto 31! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the staff, who were attentive and friendly throughout the evening. The ambiance was elegant yet relaxed, with a beautiful interior and a charming patio area that made for a lovely dining atmosphere. The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the burrata and deep-fried calamari—both fresh and full of flavour. For mains, the homemade lasagna and the spaghetti with Dover crab were perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The wine selection was excellent, complementing the meal perfectly. Service was prompt, and while the restaurant was busy, the staff made sure we were well taken care of. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into both the food and the overall experience.

We have been to this restaurant several times for private events and always loved it. It is a lovely family run business with fantastic atmosphere, great hospitality and lovely food.

I came to this restaurant and had the pizza with Burrata... I must say a wonderful discovery, very good pizza and I say this as an Italian! Beautiful, elegant and welcoming place! I would go back!

Hidden away down a quiet back street, just by Monument station, this is a lovely restaurant. There are so many chain restaurants in the City, it is great that there are still some independent establishments like this! Delicious food and such kind, welcoming owners.

I have attended a private event at this venue. The atmosphere and service was really good. The food was really tasty. I sampled a variety of pizza and canapes and they were all delicious 😋. It's an Italian family run business, so expect that Italian feeling, which I really enjoyed.

Great restaurant. Went recently for a friend’s birthday party and everything was perfect. Best of all are the amazing hosts and staff. Highly recommend.

We came here for casual office lunch, actually second time so I knew it is expensive. It is a traditional Italian ran old fashioned restaurant and food is quite good (little portion and expensive) but since it was just colleague lunch we only had water and no starter, this is probably not what they want. Ok top of what is already expensive bill they kept pouring bottles of mineral water, first kitties naturally we did yes to water but second and third bottle they didn’t ask us if we want more. So in the end we h were charged over £18 for 3 bottles of water which is not acceptable as it’s a minimum courtesy to check with customers. It is very cheeky way to make sure they increase the bill as they expect the city customers don’t normally care the bill.

I've worked in the city of London for 40 years and this is the most expensive lunch I've ever had. I wouldn't mind but we didn't exactly go crazy. Not going there again!

Food and service were decent, but be careful when asked if you want starters. We said no originally, then said yes the second time when asked if we wanted some bread and meats to pair. The starters then brought out totalled £80 which was a surprise when the bill came. We should have checked prior!

Prices are ludicrous, I spent £38 for a plate of pasta and a Coca Cola. The pasta was ok, but not great. Some pasta dishes are over £30 each; I understand the cost of everything has gone up but I did not expect to see such an increase from the last one I’d been there. Service always a bit too “old style” and stiff. Although it’s an easy choice as meters from where I work, I’ll be going elsewhere in the future

We stayed in this beautiful place last December during a weekend in London. The environment is unique, it feels like entering a friend's living room and the warmth, kindness and professionalism of the owners Alvise and Eliana make it a magical place. The food and wine selection are of excellent quality. Each product is the result of the selection of the best excellences of the Italian territory! Definitely worth trying and coming back!

Ok pizza / Italian restaurant. Enjoyed pizza, red/white wine and a salad ( no real choices re: salad). Service was ok and ambience ok - it was a quiet Saturday night. Would dine here again

Really enjoyable meal just before Christmas. The service is amazing - other restaurants should take note. While it’s not the cheapest place to go the food justifies it. The pizza I had was well worth the extra. Recommended.

Best Venetian and Italian food in town!

We went in earl evening so was quiet but staff were very good. Food is excelllent here as is the service.

I'm extremely furious with this restaurant. I came here for dinner with my 10-year old daughter who suffers from celiac disease and a couple of friends. Before we sat, I specifically asked if there were gluten -free options available explaining the waiter how important it was for my daughter 's health, the waiter was quite reassuring and assured us that gluten -free pasta was on the menu. Feeling confident we sat down and placed our orders. My daughter got her free-gluten pasta with tomato sauce. Yet, once dinner over and out of the restaurant, my daughter started feeling unwell. She experienced severe stomach cramps, followed by vomiting and diarrhea that lasted all night. It is clear that the pasta wasn't gluten -free as I expected. This is a serious error that obviously endangered my daughter 's health. This lack of seriousness is unnacceptable especially for such a severe allergy! This experience ruined our stay, I'm outraged by the staff's irresponsibility. Therefore I strongly advise against this restaurant. TO BE AVOIDED if you care about your health!!!

Food was good but the prices are very high (e.g. bread was £10) and strange (e.g. £27.31 for lasagna). Friendly and efficient service but it's overpriced. Won't be going back.

Excellent service. Interesting and delicious food. Only gripe is that we had a very small table, playing tetris with plates. It's also very expensive, even for the City

I recently visited Silattos Pizza and had an incredible dining experience. We tried the Margarita and Luigi’s pie, and I highly recommend adding Parmesan cheese to them—it really enhances the flavor. We also enjoyed the lasagna and calamari, which were both delicious. For dessert, we had some lovely ice cream with fresh fruit, a perfect way to end the meal. Alberto was an exceptionally gracious host, and as a lifelong New Yorker, I was blown away by the quality of the food. Silattos Pizza is now my favorite pizza spot in London. 10/10, highly recommend!

visiting London for the first time from New York and missing pizza! decided to take a chance and stopped in to Salotto 31. Better pizza than I’ve even had in some New York spots! Thank you, Alberto for the wonderful service! Can’t wait to come back to London and come here again!

A taste of Venice in the heart of London! If you like authentic Italian, Salotto 31 is a must. The warm & elegant ambience was a nice retreat from the busy city. It was the perfect spot to reconnect with friends and enjoy a delicious meal. Alberto went above and beyond to welcome us for the first time. The tuna tarte & lobster linguine were mouthwatering! Can’t wait to go back!

Took me back to my trip to Rome. The lasagne made me think I was there and visiting a friend.

Having reached the end of my stay in London, I came across this wonderful place. I was impressed with the quality of the food. Many places here in London (but not only in London) have undeservedly appropriated the title "Italian restaurant". Salotto 31 truly deserves to be an ambassador of Italian cuisine abroad. The quality of the ingredients is the secret, in addition to the experience of the chef. Burrata that arrives from Puglia within 24 hours of production. Alvise makes you feel immediately at ease with extreme kindness. The pizza dough is so good that it would be the envy of many pizzerias in Italy. The octopus sauce for the paccheri was so good that I made my stomach!!! I highly recommend it to anyone who is in London and wants to eat Italian, real Italian.

An excellent restaurant even compared to restaurants in Italy, very good food, very nice location, very friendly owner. Although the price is a little above average, the quality of the products is perfect, fresh and coming from Italy. The very friendly owner even showed us the upstairs closed for dinner. I didn't expect to find such a good Italian restaurant abroad

The service at this restaurant was appalling. Knowing we were tourists, they accused us of consuming items we hadn't ordered, which were outrageously priced. They seemed to think we weren't spending enough, and the food was mediocre at best, absolutely not worth it. I strongly advise everyone to think twice before dining here; I cannot recommend this restaurant at all. To make matters worse, they even delete customer reviews.

Do I have to give 1 star??? Most obnoxious staff member I have ever come across. Despite ordering wine, when we asked for tap water he refused, saying they didn’t offer it. On receiving the bill it was pointed out that it is illegal to refuse tap water when requested. This was accepted, but NO offer was made to deduct the charge from the bill or reduce service charge. If in the city of london do yourself a favour and avoid this obnoxious restaurant and make your way to Georgio’s in Leadenhall Market - superior food on every level and friendly staff, no Arrogance and obnoxious

The ambience of the restaurant was cool. The menu prices as stated on Google are simply WRONG! Double the price and you may get there. Wine good. Staff efficient. Would I visit again - afraid not.

I had 2 children that wanted to use the bathroom during a time that was not busy. They said no.

We were welcomed by the owner Alvise, who pampered us throughout the evening. The environment is refined but at the same time familiar, research and attention to top quality products. The homemade desserts made by the owner's wife are definitely worth trying! Super recommended. Adriana

We’ve regular used this bar/restaurant over the years but never reviewed. Tucked away off Eastcheap in City of London, it offers a wide range of wines and drinks plus good selection of food. Service is always excellent; cheery and welcoming. Decent little place which has been consistently good over many years (not easy to achieve!).

The food is really good but there is a Italian Creten with bad teeth who works as a waiter. He belongs in a faulty towers episode not working in a restaurant

I was here two times during my last visit to London and without a doubt, here I had the best food - the best sea bass ever, divine parmigiana, and heavenly deserts. Also, the owner is a really nice, attentive host, and staff is very professional. I will visit again, for sure.

Shocked to see this rated at 4.0. I am picky about Italian food, but I love this place. The passion they have for quality Italian food and ingredients really comes through in each dish and even through the wait staff. I found them welcoming and really warm. This place is a 5.

Great Italian food but slightly overbearing staff. We use for business lunches often and can't complain too much. One occasion when they knew it was a corporate lunch we noticed they would pour the wine to 3/4s then ask if we want another bottle, knowing we wouldn't ask about the remainder of the last bottle. Left a bad taste. Atmosphere is crowded but fun. Sometimes tough to get service or a servers attention. Would recommend the lasagna.

Was walking on our way to the hotel and everything was closed, The Italian Owner was really kind and even though the kitchen was just closed he managed to order us a take away pizza!!!! The pizza was really Italian style very tasteful and the atmosphere inside the place felt really warm! On my next trip I will definitely visit it and have my dinner there

We walked into the restaurant and were greeted by a rude host who sat us. We didn’t think much about it, but in retrospect, it set the theme for the meal. It was difficult to communicate with the waitress, the tuna in the tuna tartare was not fresh and tasted fishy, the baby chicken tasted “off”, the salmon was cold in the middle and we had to go to the bar to order drinks because the waitress could not communicate what drinks were available. We would have tactfully mentioned the issues; however we were not asked how our food or experience was. I do not recommend this resturant.

I must say I enjoyed a lovely evening last sunday at this lovely Venetian/ Italian restaurant. Alberto was a very charming host to my evening alone and when I asked for the signature dish, he suggested the sole and I ordered it with the white wine suggestion. I was very happy with the food and wine suggestion delivered. For afters I enjoyed the cheese with a delicious red wine. I will certainly suggest this restaurant to all who want to enjoy a lovely Italian dinner in London and will go again if the opportunity arrives! sehr laut, zugig, Wein für 60€ verkauft und nach 10€ geschmeckt, bruschetta wurde 35 min zubereitet obwohl das ja nur Brot mit Tomate ist, geht lieber in einen süßen Pub

Another fabulous evening at our favourite Italian restaurant in London orchestrated by the ever amazing Alvise. The food and wine were stunning as was the service! Absolutely first class in every way! Grazi mille!!

We tried this restaurant after poor quality food and overpriced. Stuff of the restaurant look very bad trained and their manager quite embarrassing. There are many more Italian restaurants near much better like Scarpetta. So I will definitely avoid the place.

Stumbled into this nice place while looking for a birthday dinner. Good food, nice atmosphere, broad wine selection and very friendly staff. Would recommend.

I had the Tagliolino Cannaregio (gratin with bechamel & ham) and it was great. Sister had the Salmon and said the same. Atmosphere was nice, staff very attentive and wait time for the food wasn't too long. For reference, they no longer accept the Tastecard for 50% discount.

My third visit (first post-pandemic) and the food remains a delight. On this lunch occasion I enjoyed their fantastic Pappardelle Montalcino (slow braised wild boar, olive taggiasche, tomato sauce) accompanied by a glass of red recommended by the staff.

Always wanted to try this out and eventually managed to do do. Not disappointed. Excellent wine choice and lively knowledgeable staff to complement a wide range of beautifully prepared food. A really enjoyable experience.

Amazing food at this place, been to Rome and this place beats it!! Absolutely amazing food! Wife had the ham and mushroom pizza and I had the baby octopus with home made pasta. Will definitely be going again.
