Very helpful staff. Had sausages in a bap but the sausages were poor quality. Hot drinks and ice cream very good. Don’t allow dogs so had to have a takeaway.

Relies heavily on being in an elevated situation above the cliffs. I live here but rarely go there. It has floor to ceiling glass on 3 sides It has great views across the Wash and a bowling green, at the Northern end of the Promenade Gardens. The floor is bare tiles and the furniture functional and metal framed. It has a very clinical look about it. I had a coffee and paid a little extra for a mug. But still a small measure and relatively expensive. Had to ask for sugar and service wasn't very smooth The door was left ajar, presumably because there was a slight odour of fried food. I'm not tempted to return

The salad bowl is in a prime location, it has lots of potential, some chairs had tears on the seat , and counter service was a bit slow, but the menu is varied and not expensive and gets busy so not a bad place to eat.

Stopped here as lovely view, looked modern and clean too. Ordered coffee and bacon roll….. we are a patient couple…my wife has ten times more patients, we drank our lovely coffee slowly to the results last mouthful was cold…still no bacon roll!…looked around and they didn’t seem full and half were already eating, check payment time and 22 mins it took for the rolls to arrive, it was tasty but wasn’t worth £4+ only 1 slice of bacon in it. The delay and price is the whole reason for this poor review…. Wouldn’t say we won’t go back but it won’t be top of our list.

This cafe is right on the sea front and is very popular. If you are lucky you can get a table next to the sea wall and watch the activities with the boats and other craft on the water. Sometimes you have a little wait for your food as they can be very busy but it is worth waiting for and the prices are reasonable. Would definitely recommend it.

We recently visited the Salad Bowl Cafe and although we only had drinks, the experience was delightful. The drinks were competitively priced, offering great value for money. The service was very good, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring we were well taken care of. The location is absolutely brilliant, overlooking the cliffs and beach in Hunstanton. The stunning views add a special touch to the overall ambiance, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a drink. While we didn't try the food ourselves, the dishes brought out to other customers looked amazing, and we are eager to come back and sample the menu. Based on what we saw, it seems like a great place for a meal. We will definitely return to try the food for ourselves and enjoy the lovely setting once again. Highly recommended!

The best thing going for this place is affordability and the views. Position wise, it's not the best, and access for wheelchair users is limited. I overheard a wheelchair user having difficulty getting into the restaurant. I had fish and chips here just because the wife did not fancy anything on the seafront, so she had a healthy salad. I risked the fish and chips. They were as I imagined. The fish, I think, was from the freezer, and the chips were average. I expected it to be so, as this wasn't a fish and chip shop. I would go again, but maybe not to have the fish and chips :-)

We came to Hunstanton for a day trip, and we walked along the beach and spotted the Salad Bowl Cafe. We fancied something warm, especially since the weather was quite bad, and I opted for a Sultana Scone with Clotted Cream and Jam with a Horlicks drink. The staff serving me couldn't have been friendlier and made the drinks perfectly while being very polite. We sat down, and I was amazed by the views. The scone was the last two, but they tasted incredible. There was WiFi here, too, which was helpful since the area had quite a wrong signal, meaning I could catch up on my emails while having a delicious scone. There were many tables, and it was spotless.

Food good, service terrible, staff all seemed so uninterested. Seems so badly organised, many staff, most wandering about, kitchen staff and waiting staff seem to be same people, hair hanging all over faces when prepping food. Had jacket potato and prawns in maire rose sauce and cottage pie. Tea, milkshake and lemonade. Told when ordering would be 25 mins, was happy they said and sat down to wait. People behind me ordered three hot dishes after us and were served 15 mins before us. Eventually after 35 mins my meal arrived. Tiny portion of prawns and barely any sauce, small spud and salad. Cottage pie came out nearly five mins after potato and only when I asked - seemed they just forgot. Don’t know how, I saw it sitting on side in kitchen 10 mins previously. Had such high hopes, really disappointed. Views lovely but experience spoilt on the whole. Such a shame.

We'd been looking forward to a Sunday lunch at The lodge for a long time. The trip had been planned months in advance. The service we received was warm and prompt. Very friendly. The food, however, made us wish we had eaten at the Le Strange Arms hotel we had stayed at down the road. The pork my wife had was a massive steak (rather than slices from a roasted joint) and the fat was not rendered at all. The pork steak looked like it had been flash fried and was so underdone it had to be left. The roast potatoes tasted like they hadn't been re heated enough. Clearly not freshly made. The roast beef was so tasteless I wondered what meat it was. The Yorkshire pudding was clearly reheated but not enough. It was not crispy nor was it hot. All in all my wife and I agreed that it was one of the worse Sunday lunches wed ever had. We had considered staying at The Lodge, but after eating there we have vowed never to return. So sad, as we had SO looked forward to eating there.
