Benny and team were fantastic. Super welcoming, couldn’t do enough for us and just a real friendly bunch and the food is out of this world. Wouldn’t go anywhere else now.

Two of us ordered the battered sausage meal and one the vegetable lasagne meal. My wife (Lasagne meal) asked if she could swap her side of peas for coleslaw. The sausage meal comes with chips and a choice of minted mushy peas, peas, beans, curry or gravy. I asked for minted peas, the daughter chose curry sauce. If you look at my image of the menu, you will see the sausage is stated as 1ft long, if you look at my image of the meal, you will see it’s a standard sausage. My wife’s meal arrived and we reminded the waitress it should have coleslaw. Then the two sausage meals arrived. I queried the size with the waitress who said you need to state “Jumbo” this is a lie as nowhere does it state that on the menu meal. I reminded her of the missing coleslaw and we were told there is none left before walking off. Nobody told us this at the start, my wife would have had peas if they did. When the bill arrived, there was an extra side charge of coleslaw. I challenged the price and they removed the coleslaw. I’ve no idea if they try pulling this trick on everyone, I am sending my images and experience to trading standards, it’s a shame as the food they did serve tasted fine

We went and purchased some fish and chips after a 3 hr drive. Asked to use the loo in the adjoining restaurant and was told no! Hence the mark down for service

MARVELLOUS MACEY ..!! Just wanted to share my love and appreciation for Marvellous MACEY. I visited the restaurant this week and I was greeted with such love and kindness from MACEY. I am a super fussy eater and MACEY was very patient and kind to me. Nothing was to much trouble and she really went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. I really appreciate the exquisite customer service I received from MACEY. The other staff Chloe and Sally were also lovely and very family orintated. The food was good fresh and hot. They even provided colouring for the children. The location is great and thr decor was traditional. All in all a SUPERB experience..!! My first time eating fish and chips in England. And it was an absolute blast. I highly recommend this restaurant. The waiters are absolute lovely and my whole family loved it. Greetings from the german family to Benny and the Rest of the service staff. Keep up the good work.

We used to buy from here frequently. 45 min drive for a walk and treat ourselves to food . Sadly we won't bother again . The chips were burnt scraps , veggie burger was grim ( the bun a weird texture and yellow in colour ) not to mention horrible taste . The mushy peas were a revelation..... They were brown . I mean really brown 😕 . I have never seen brown peas before. When we tried to change them we found out they were all the same . It seems they warm them up and put them in individual portions and then incinerate them under the heat lamps until they are a tasty visual treat .... BROWN peas ... Never had that before and never again cos we won't be back not even if I was starving.

Stopped for some fish and chips. Chose the pensioners meal deal but the best part was the nice fresh chips, the rest was quite drab.

Great food Had pensioners special which was good value for money .The brother and sister cannot fault them . Customer service is like second nature to them . Wonderful will be back next time on holiday

Popped in on our way back to apartment which is nearby. Waitress suggested Pensioners deal £10.50. portions for two good size and excellent value. Waitress was very pleasant.

Enjoyed a very tasty Senior Citizen’s fish & chip dinner at a fantastic price of £10.95. Very kind & obliging staff so couldn’t have been better. Always happy to return!

Beautiful Fish & Chips, staff friendly, all freshly prepared in the restaurant, mushy peas and curry sauce all lovely at the seaside.

The haddock was lovely with crispy batter. Chips were also very good.

Exactly how a fish and chip shop should be. 👍 Although it was very busy, the service was very prompt and my order was ready in a few minutes and tasted delicious. 😋 IMO, far superior to Eric's at Thornham and better value!! 💷

Best place for fish and chips in town

We visited Hunstanton and had the great pleasure of eating in at Fishers today. We both had the Cod and Chips with minted mushy peas. The size and quality of Cod with it light crispy batter was perfectly cooked delicious. The chips were freshly cooked and gorgeous. The service by Benny and the team was fast and efficient and we were made to feel special just as the meal was. We can both highly recommend the eating experience and the lovely team were very helpful, polite and made our visit a real treat. Thank you. Dave and Kim Chelmsford

Fish and chips were the best we have ever had. Peas had a bit of mint in them which was very nice. Large cod was a very large cod. We had not seen a piece this big before.

We had a great experience from the moment we walked into fishers. The staff were so welcoming and polite and obviously happy in their job. Special shout out to Barry who was a joy so friendly and chatty. The food was amazing the curry sauce was best we had tasted for years. Even the playlist was happy music. We will definitely be back next year when we holiday here again.

We visited Fishers as part of a day trip to Hunstanton. The service was excellent, from our server Benny, who was amazing and wonderful to talk to. The food was the best fish and chips we’ve ever had, 10/10 will return.

Fish was great but the chips were extremely disappointing. Just a few scrappings. Will try one of the other shops on our next visit.

Went with my family last Friday evening, 2 adults 3 children 9+. Luckily managed to catch the 7:30pm restaurant entry cut off time, however, no time limit once seated, even after the takeaway closes at 8:00. We were greeted by a male server, full of life, soul and cheer. Seated in the window it was perfect to watch the sun set over the wash. Our orders were taken and the food arrived very soon after. We ordered main meals and sides, all of which were hot, fresh and very tasty. The cod was delicious and so white! They had run out of jumbo battered sausage so substituted it with 4! regular battered sausage. Scampi was very tasty and all sauces and condiments were available even real Heinz salad Cream. Price was between £60-80 can’t remember but I do remember what a lovely meal we all had. The staff were 10/10 and the food was 10/10. Thank you.

Not the greatest value 3 quid for chips and I think it was 8.75? For standard cod and £3 for a bottle of oasis ! The thinnest batter I have ever had u could see the fish through it should have taken it back really surely there must be better to be had in Hunstanton . To be fair it was cooked fresh but overall a disappointment

Best takeaway fish and chips in the area

I had Haddock and chips with minted mushy peas, the latter of which was a first for me and the batter is so good. My partner had Cod and chips with a curry sauce which both of us thought was delicious. All in all fantastic food and we will definitely be back, 5 stars are so mean when you deserve 10.

You can order on the sunset wine bar terrace- really good fish and chips, kids size meals were plenty for us..

Have been here many times. Travel about 30 especially for their fish and chips but last time was so disappointing. Queued up for about half hour. Usually fish is really meaty but this time it was a really thin piece of fish with all batter. I emailed and was offered a refund but have heard nothing further. It wasn’t just the money but the disappointment. Won’t be keen to make a return visit.

Can't fault the food. Fish and chips - decent portions. Expensive prices but then it is the seaside and probably have to make their profit during the season. Take away price - £8.95 for a regular cod and £3.00 for a regular portion of chips. (They had no large cod or large haddock when I was there at 6pm ish. We usually share but had to buy two regular fish here) They take your money give you a receipt with a number on and ask you to wait outside. When your order is ready they below the number past the queuing customers and you go back in. Efficient but feels rude. Again the food was good, well cooked and fresh but they were not at all friendly.

We have been many times here over our years of visiting Hunstanton. This time we walked out before we even ordered. We went a few weeks ago as well, and the food is good, but the service is not. Not sure if it’s new management, as they staff don’t seem the same, but the service has suffered and this time round, where we walked out, it was dreadful. It’s a shame as they do good fish and chips. They need to sort out the service.

Went in here as there were queues for the other central fish and chips restaurants and went in with no queue and was seated within 5 minutes. Ordered the basic cod and chips and mushy peas and can honestly say it was the best I have ever had and worth paying a little bit extra for. 100% recommend coming here if you want fish and chips in Hunstanton.

We come to hunstanton yearly and this is one of our regular stops. The fish are huge and really tasty, chips lovely and plenty and the curry sauce is the best I have tasted. Yes it's busy, but that's because it's good fish and chips.

Decided to try Fishers as we were in town. We were part of a group of 6 adults and 2 small children. The queue was long but decided to stick with it. We wished we hadn't. The staff behind the counter clearly couldn't cope with the volume of customers. One of the young girls behind the counter clearly couldn't be bothered and seemed to enjoy telling the waiting customers her sexuality. All the young lad behind the counter kept saying was if anyone was waiting, to leave the premises and wait outside. The other young person behind the counter kept being told to stop taking orders as they were piling up. Eventually, one of our party got served and was overcharged for a small bottle of Dr Pepper. There was another long wait for the next person in our group to be served over 20 mins only to have to wait a further 20 mins to receive their order. The staff were running around like headless chickens clearly not having a clue. The last couple in our group also had to wait for their order to be taken, and, like, all of their customers were given an order ticket with their number on it. So it only goes to show what an inept bunch of staff are behind the counter as another person several numbers on were given our parties order. When they asked where their order for scampi was, they were told they would have to wait for it to be cooked. Finally, after nearly an hour and 20 minutes, we got our food, which included a tub of baked beans at £2.50 but as they ran out of forks, it was a job to try and eat them. When asked about some replacement forks, the young girl just said they hadn't got any. Also the steak and ale pie at £4.50 was luke warm at best but the member of our group couldn't face another long queue to tell the staff. Fishers may be in the top 10 of chip shops in the UK, but they are definitely bottom in terms of serving customer swifty and correctly. The very long wait, a pot of what amounted to 3 spoons of baked beans, our order being given away to another customer made this visit an over priced and very disappointing experience.

The fish was dry and overcooked. The same for the chips. Despite the fact you are supposed to pay and wait for them to cook. The service was relatively fast, probably because the fish and ships were already cooked, God k knows since when. Very expensive. I had much better for 2/3 of the price. The woman taking the order was ok, but the serving woman was quite hostile and unfriendly. God knows why this place has a good reputation and for that we walked a mile to get them. Pretty not worth it experience. Definitely never again.

Absolutely appalling service, waited an eternity for our order, and when it finally arrived, it was clear why it took so long - the staff are completely clueless. The queue was chaos, and the staff behind the counter looked like they’d rather be anywhere else. People coming in after us were served exactly the same thing we were waiting for and when we questioned this we were met with 'yeah we're just waiting for it to cook'. Also, they ran out of forks, what sort of chip shop runs out of forks! Beware if it's a hot day - they can't cope!!

Have visited here before and always found them to be fair price and good fish and chips, this time not at all disappointed, had our Grandchildren with us so it was 2 children's meals, a chicken and a fish, and 2 age related portions of fish and chips for us. Really good fish, staff all friendly and cheerful. Quick service, in all, good value and we'll be back again when next in Hunstanton.

Extremely good fish and chips! Great service; friendly and natural, with a really personal touch. The decor is fresh, modern (but with throwbacks to the heritage of Hunstanton) and pleasant, with energising music (think 90s dance music) at the right volume to be present but not disruptive. Very inclusive feel, with a range of customers across all demographics being made to feel welcome.

That's pure no. Not really polite staff. They give our food somebody else and that nasty soggy bag off disappointment for 40£ was just something. Next to it is hotel whete they cook amazing food, how anyone even go there. Oily fish, soggy chips, the only positive is fresh fish, but preparing fish like this killed her twice. How they saying they are in top 10....they not. Just go eat next door. Even seagulls dont beg this ...

Yup a solid choice for fish and chips. I rarely eat fish and chips as not a fan of heavy oily battered fish, but the oil used was 'clean like / tasteless' making the ingredients of the fish stand out. Chips also good! I suggest ordering online for takeaway to avoid the queues.

Thought I'd update after yesterday's visit. I have removed a star due to one particular girl taking orders who has no manners what so ever. Please and thank you are obviously not in her vocabulary.. just rude! Come on Fishers, sort your staff out! Food was lovely Amazing fish and chips, lovely curry sauce can't fault the food but I don't think non paying family members should take priority over paying customers. We had to wait even longer because the girl gave one piece of our cooked fish to her Grandad who rocked up long after we ordered!

Lovely meals,haddock, plaice was huge,fish bites brilliant, abit pricey main meals £16 each, large coke was a regular anyware else and at nearly £4 should be abit larger.having said that we will be back.

Poor. We went for a meal with one of us having an allergy and we were completely shocked in the lack of respect. We asked for an allergy list ahead of ordering any food so we could check what foods had egg. The waitress then went to go speak to a manager and came out with a reply of “the chef said he didn’t know and just have the jacket potato” we were shocked at this reply. The waitress said it was nothing to do with her as she just served the food!! Was she not the front of your business, the welcome and goodbyes?? Customer service really needs to be looked at. I then asked to speak to the manager as he didn’t come out, he was next door, so we left the restaurant and went to speak to the manager next door in the chippy and express our feelings. We were being spoken about as we spoke to the manager by a group of female staff who thought it something to giggle and laugh about. As a restaurant that says they cater for allergies. THEY DON’T. The manager was polite and apologetic but did nothing to allay our fears of a restaurant advertising, on both sides of their menu, to just ask if you need more info or allergies. He agreed it wasn’t correct and very misleading and finished by saying-it was all down to the owner. You need to look at your menu And the advertising statements You need a team of staff that are proud to work there and take ownership of issues/problems In 2024 -totally unacceptable!

We tried to dine here but as they cannot supply an allergy listing of their food we decided not to risk it. We were recommended a baked potato…as they suffer from cross contamination in the kitchen. Somehow baked potatoes dont suffer this fate. The board outside suggests a top 10 fish and chip shop…with no allergy awareness at the server , and no allergy menu inside , the bottom 10 is a better placing. Other less well known Fish and chip shops locally can identify all allergens in their food. I cannot return here unless a major change in food awareness is undertaken by the management!!

The lack of care and attention towards an allergy at every level of the business- from service staff to head chef was very poor. How the restaurant can advertise the opportunity to ask staff about allergy advice is beyond me, because the answer you will get from anyone is "I don't know". There are no allowances made for any allergies, and no up-to-date allergy list is available. This is not the best chip shop in Hunstanton, nowhere near, thanks to the rude and unhelpful staff and management- we were unable to eat here as a result. However, South Beach Hunstanton's Vegas Fish Bar was far more accommodating to our needs, and well worth visiting!

I came in today for lunch. The food and service was amazing. Benny who served us was very professional funny and friendly. His understanding of the food served was impeccable. Highly recommend coming here to eat and hopefully benny brighten up your day like he did us.

We both had cod chips and minted mushy peas, huge portions and nice and hot. Will definitely recommend this restaurant. We were there at lunchtime so was quite noisy but still worth it for the tasty food and efficient staff 😉

Date of Visit: 05/02/2024 - The Waitress was pretty much on her own tonight apart from a kitchen staff member delivering food to the tables (due to staff shortages) but they both did an excellent job. The food here is always of a good standard with the chips tasting great and the jumbo sausage always being very moreish. They were also extremely generous with the curry sauce portion(s) but perhaps overly so (see photos) My only minor critisism is ‘minted’ mushy peas as standard ?? I personally think this should be a ‘secondary’ option to ‘original’ mushy peas as not everybody likes mint or scented produce - Thank you for your service and my wife and I shall definitely return in the future :)

We love to stop by and get a takeout. This holiday I enjoyed battered sausage and chips, enjoyed in Hunstanton with the views of the sea and gardens (restaurant doesnt alllow dogs). Cooked fresh, thanks.

Our 1st visit with friends who regularly eat here when in Hunstanton. The £10 95. cod chips peas bread and butter and drink, was excellent value, the staff lovely. Would we eat here again. It's a YES from us. Loved it ++

Excellent food and service. The fish was incredible but it was the batter that stole the show. Cannot rate highly enough.

A table of 11 - were seated quickly and efficiently by a very friendly male member of staff. Food arrived promptly and was good. 11 meals and drinks came to about £150. Obviously a very popular place as really busy by 12 noon.

Fantastic chip shop/restaurant. Visited as a family of 5 on a busy Thursday afternoon (during the May break) didn’t have to wait long to be seated or for food to arrive. I personally wouldn’t say the food was overpriced for the fantastic food we was served. Food was fresh and tasted fantastic, even highly recommended from 3 fussy children aged 7,9,11. A big shout out to Benny, who is an exceptional member of the team, fantastic service and personality. We will definitely be back, thank you! P.s, best curry sauce we’ve ever had!
