Probably the best quality Thai food I’ve had , fantastic service , unfortunately I don’t live in Poole or this would definitely be one of my favourite restaurants !

10 out of 10. The best authentic Thai restaurant in Poole. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Food amazing and just like eating in restaurants from Thailand. Fresh ingredients, extremely tasty and well worth a visit. Prices reasonable for the quality of food served. When in Poole we always visit this restaurant where it's easy to relax and eat fantastic Thia food. Would always recommend this as a place to enjoy fabulous Thai dishes. Worth a visit any day of the week. You must book to guarantee a space at the table. Do it..........! August 2024 and 6 months on, STILL definitely recommend this FANTASTIC restaurant. Just back from Samui and the food at Sakuna as good as any restaurant I went to in the last 4 weeks. Don't waste any time and book your table today!

Check your bill! Know what you were supposed to be being charged and check that you were charged according to the menu. Ever since I was cheated on another trip, I always get my receipt especially if it's the tap your card and go. This is the second time I have found an anomaly, and it's funny how it's never in the customer's favour. Always take your receipt and review it before you leave. There is no atmosphere to speak of, but The food was delicious. Watch out for that chili pepper. Almost killed me if I hadn't had some milk on the table for my tea. The reason the review is mixed is because when I ordered, she assured me that the mixed vegetables would come with the shrimp and that price was 8.95gbp. When the check came, it was 12.95. That is a 33% increase and would definitely have affected my choice if I had known. Even if I had known the price, I might have been ok with it, who knows. But just as money is important to them, it's important to me. I went from wanting to eat there every other day, to feeling deceived. Check your bills everybody.

Never disappoints. This is a top eating establishment with excellent quality food in relaxed environment. Staff very pleasant.

This was not our first visit and certainly won’t be our last. The staff are attentive and friendly and the food is always excellent and very tasty. At key times of the week it is advisable to book to avoid disappointment. It’s a very reasonably priced restaurant and I personally recommend the Sakura Roast Duck dish!

This is a fantastic little Thai restaurant that we have used before it was really busy but they managed to fit us in. The food was delicious. Tempura veg and Thai spicy fish cakes starters. Tofu stir fry with peanut sauce and tiger prawn get drunk in jungle spicy curry with sticky rice and mushroom rice. All well cooked and presented. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Thank you again

love Thai food normally but this experience has really annoyed us. Only just moved to the area and wanted a good Thai restaurant to go to will be trying others anyone reading this don't bother coming rude service, bad food and argued with us when we asked for it to be taken of the bill.

Excellent food and service at a very reasonable price - the thai red and Green curries were great , the Singapore noodles also . Great tempura prawns and pancake rolls - wish we had this one in Devon

Hadn't been here in years and it was a welcome comeback. I had the prawn crackers (dunno why, I'm not that mad on them) but that was just to snack on. The waitess recommended the Pad Kapow and it was absolutely tremendous, loads of beef and veg in a spicy sauce, with fragrant, fluffy coconut rice. The whole lot with 2 beers was cheap too, very impressed.

This was the first time of visiting this restaurant and wow at every level. The waiting staff were attentive and polite the ambiance was friendly. The food was on another level l had chicken satay to start and chicken Thai curry for my maim meal. It was cooked to perfection and the flavours were lovely. I have travelled to Thailand before and l would say the food is just like you would have there. Not over priced but well cooked food. I will definitely be going back Thank-you

I eat a lot of Thai food at home as I have a Thai girlfriend. We chose this place as it looked like it was a proper little family run Thai business and wanted to support it. We were not disappointed, great service, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, fantastic food, one of the best restaurants we've been to in a long time. Lovely little place, will come back when in Poole next year.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay, and we are still convinced the green curry and the soups are the best in town.

Spent only two days in Poole and had dinner both nights at this excellent restaurant. Best Pad Thai we have ever had. What a pleasant surprise as we have holidayed in Thailand for many years. So good the first night we returned for another great meal the following evening. Service, decor and staff added to pleasant evenings.

What a fantastic restaurant in Poole, just off the Quay front. Vegetable tempura and vegetable spring rolls were delicious, as were the mains that included Lamb massamam curry. £72 for 2. We managed to get a table as we walked in at 1730. After 1930 only one table for 2 available.

The food was alright. The people I were with far preferred the food to me. I felt the red and green curry did not have the depth of flavour I like. The sea food pad Thai was a little heavy.

Always have to have a meal here when we visit Poole. The food is amazing and the staff are lovely.

Absolutely tremendous authentic Thai food. Booking recommended as it's always full. Very lovely atmosphere and the staff are kind, funny and knowledgeable. The salt and pepper squid was beautifully done, so tender and the "get drunk in the forest" was just so very tasty. We've been here a few times and are unlikely to try anywhere else. It's a perfect experience.....oh and the desserts are delicious too.

This lovely restaurant has become my firm favourite when visiting Poole. It’s a small restaurant so be sure to book ahead otherwise you’re likely to be disappointed. The staff are so lovely and the food is top quality, freshly cooked and very tasty. If you book a table the staff won’t rush you which makes for a good, relaxing dining experience. I highly recommend the Chilli, Garlic and Basil Chicken stir fry but then again every meal we’ve had in there has been fabulous. Can’t wait to return

Great place to eat freshly prepared Thai food. We've eaten here many times & the quality of food, prices & service are excellent. Last week we booked late & were found a table. Would highly recommend.

Came here on the off chance as original plans turned out to be a bit too pricey. Glad we did as it really was cheap and cheerful and really authentic. There was one table and they needed it back within hour, no problem for us as we are quick eaters lol! Ordered coconut soup, mixed fried rice, chicken peanut sauce, slow cooked ribs and rice. Food was really tasty snd authentic and could definitely recommend. Service was friendly and efficient and appreciate being fit in. Only friendly advise I would recommend is I saw them turn couples away when there was a two person sitting at a four table which table could have been separated. All about earning more peas right 😇

What a find! My go-to is a Thai green chicken curry....I've had many....this was by far the best! My husband has also had many Thai curries...he also declared his choice (can't remember exactly which one...2nd page with 2 chilli heat!) Was the best he'd had.

Very tasty food and very nice service. They have chairs outside so you can sit with your dog and eat something good.

This Thai restaurant is as close as the real thing .I’ve been to Thailand 🇹🇭 many times and Sakuna Thai has to be one of best meals I’ve aver had ,the ingredients and flavours are so authentic ,the service is second to none a little gem of a place !

Fantastic, fresh food with lots of fresh vegetables in the dishes. Something you don’t get everywhere. Keep in mind the Jungle curry is extremely hot, from someone that regularly orders the hottest on menus!

To be honest I'm not thai food crazy but my hubby loves it... but to be fair what we had was good....I had king prawn pad thai hubby had sweet and sour chicken..starters were good as well

Absolutely sublime I couldn’t fault it I got the Duck dish and it was melt in the mouth and absolutely delicious . The papaya salad was so fresh and tasty 100% recommend

Best Thai restaurant I’ve been to in England. Run by a hard working husband and wife pair. The head chef used to work in Dusit Thani hotel in Bangkok and it clearly shows in the food. The quality of seafood was spectacular, very fresh, and flavours of each dish distinct and authentic. Very reasonable prices for the quality and huge portions.

A popular small restaurant so advisable to book. The food was delicious with a wide choice. Staff were very sweet and looked after us. Can recommend this, a nice relaxed environment to savour good food.

As always, the quality of the food and service is exceptional. Sakuna Khrua is with out a doubt the best restaurant in Poole. An absolute must for anyone visiting.

This was an impromptu visit on a very windy, wet night, but what a treat, food absolutely delicious, great selection, large portion and the service was brilliant, very reasonable prices, definitely recommend this place and we will go back. Photos are not great as we could not wait to eat as it looked amazing and tasted delicious.

Amazing! The loveliest staff, fantastic experience start to finish! Massive portions at a reasonable price too. A great authentic Thai. The best lamb massaman curry I have had in the UK, if not in the world! We also ordered amazing starters, Singapore noodles were the best we have had. Peanut chicken and pad Thai were delicious. Can’t wait to return. Small restaurant, visit early or book to avoid disappointment! Every table was reserved so we were lucky we got in early! Can’t rave about this place enough.

Food is good and they have pineapple fried rice which is not common in other Thai restaurants. Food can be served a little bit slower than expected.

Been there twice, very friendly service ,food very good, can be very hot if you don't check the chili signs. Good thing is you can sit outdside weather permiting. Try the ribs, they are a knock out, to be honest thats all you will need...

This place might be small but the food is mighty! Myself and 3 work colleagues hadn't eaten in Poole before and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious and plentiful. The service was fast and the ladies where very attentive and water and drinks were topped up quickly. We all had 2 delicious course each, with 4 beers and the bill was less than ninety quid, bargain! It's in the street behind the quay but I advise you book so as to avoid disappointment. Absolutely wonderful food and great service. Can't wait to go back next time I'm working in Poole.

A week ago we tried to do a ‘walk in’ to be told the restaurant was full for the evening. A summer Tuesday eve and a restaurant full? Yet all the other surrounding restaurants were barely half full. So we reserved for this week, and...

We stumbled upon this place while out exploring. We was early so got a table but I would book because quite a few got turned away. Good menu, lovely food and lovely staff. Had a nice time and would recommend it

Really lovely food, everything we had was delicious.. you must try the drunk in the forest stir fry with seafood - it's amazing! The service was excellent and the staff were lovely. The only negative was that it was far too hot in the restaurant, this left us feeling like we needed to hurry our food and couldn't stay for more drinks because it was just too warm to drink alcohol in there. Would definitely visit again but request a table by the door.

Visited on a Saturday night and were lucky to have booed as the restaurant soon filled up. We had Thai crackers, dumplings, Penang and Thai red curry and all was delicious. Would definitely visit again when in area!
