Laura served me at the Starbucks counter and from start to finish she was happy, friendly and very helpful. She was also very kind and caring as she could see I was in pain. She had a smile on her face and served me like she wanted to be there and loves her job. I said to her that I wished all customer service people were like her as I left. Laura definitely needs acknowledging for this as a valued and excellent employee.

This was a lovely cafe, so clean. The only complaint is I visited the cafe with my grand daughter who is one year old and still in a pushchair on Wednesday 15 February. I purchased a cup of tea and biscuits. I asked the lady who served me where the highchairs were, she pointed to them. I then had to push my grand daughter over to an empty table, then go back and get the high chair and then back again to the counter to pick up the tray of food. I did feel that somebody should have helped carry the tray over to the table for me. It was not busy and there were three assistants on, one served me, the other two just stood there. I used to work in a Cafe many years ago, and if anyone came to the counter with a pushchair or a wheelchair, we would ask if they would like us to carry the tray over. Sorry everything was lovely, just felt I had to mention it.

Popped in for a quick lunch. Wanted a hot baguettes but was told they had run out of baguettes, so would I have a roll instead. I did, but was rather disappointed to go into the store and find a bakery full of said baguettes. Is it not possible for the bakery to send baguettes over to the cafe, when they are advertised on the menu?

After fighting our way round Cheshire Oaks and finding no parking, we decided to park in Sainsbury's car park and had a cake and coffee in their cafe. The service was average, food was nice and coffee hot with prices reasonable.

Standard Sainsbury’s appearance maroon and orange cafe - bit gloomily-lit. Hungry family, not really needing a massive meal - a sandwich or a soup sound quick? One star rating for the speed of being served at the till. The four missing stars due to the 20-minute wait for two bowls of soup and two hot beef baguettes. Seriously, how long should this take? Pick up ladle, plunge into tureen, pour into bowl. Repeat until full. Less than a minute, I guess? Beef baguette? Nuke boil-in-the-bag beef and gravy then place on slightly-warmed baguette, carefully avoiding buttering baguette and failing to provide butter for same. Pot of gravy for baguette on menu not applicable, as it would be difficult to scrape it off the beef slices and put into pot. Three minutes, at a pinch. Going to the counter to enquire - blank incomprehension, then slight panic (‘it’s just on the way’). Food started arriving very shortly afterwards. Baguettes pretty tasteless. 12-year-old son’s comment on soup - ‘this is bolognese sauce!’ It wasn’t busy. And it won’t be returned to. Sainsbury’s Rice Lane is like a different universe by comparison - clean, bright and efficient.

We often pop into our local Sainsbury's café with hungry children and expected this to be of the same standard. We placed our order quickly, but that was the speediest part of the visit. We waited at least 20 minutes - we only ordered soups and two baguettes. When we asked how long they would be we were told they were on their way. Some minutes later the baguettes appeared. They looked like the part-baked baguettes you can buy in the supermarket. They weren't buttered, neither was any supplied, and the beef looked like, and tasted like the processed 'boil in the bag' type. The gravy promised on the menu board was put on the baguette - presumably to moisten the bread. The waitress serving the food had her hands on the sides of the plates - no food hygiene gloves, and I've just had an unpleasant trip to the bathroom! Coincidence? I won't be visiting again.

Friendly service but not much choice available for children. No crisps or choice of juice when we visited and soft seating area was falling to pieces; sofas torn and peeling didn’t make you want to sit and enjoy a coffee. We frequently visit Sainsbury’s cafes when shopping, but this one lets the side down unfortunately.

Breakfast not as good as it used to be as they have removed the big breakfast from the menu so had a normal bacon sandwitch that left us dissatisfied as not much bacon on it. On the plus side my nephew enjoyed his scrambled eggs.

This is a great supermarket with short distance to Cheshire Oaks where you can also shop till you drop. Only issues I have found with this Sainsburys is the traffic can get very heavy leaving at certain times and the car park is not the easiest to get round. There is an argos inside the store which is handy if you want to pick up something there and shop at the same time. The bread and fresh cake selections are amazing and they have a well stocked meat counter where I picked up some amazing fillet steaks!

We were here for breakfast Monday April 11th before going to Chester Zoo.The service was just plain old....slow. Took nearly 10-15 minutes to get breakfast after ordering. We ordered....a bacon buttie, a sausage buttie and toast. There was maybe 1 person waiting for food in front of us so it wasn't as if lots of people were waiting for food. since when was a buttie served on sliced bread?? a buttie is a bun/bap/stottie, not plain old thick sliced bread, that's a sandwich....so I was already disappointed with the wait, and then the food was poor. as we left there was confusion over orders as people were getting the wrong food sent to them, people were coming out asking every table what food they ordered as they had an order that nobobdy claimed as what they had ordered lol......and there was one lad in there with a friend who had ordered together, he never got his food for 40 minutes, in the time he waited, his friend had ate his breakfast and the other lad had to go and complain.poor from Sainsburys

Visited the cafe for tea and a bacon sandwich prior to an early meeting. After travelling almost two hours I called at Saintsbury's Cafe for tea and a bacon sandwich, I had limited time and could see that I would be served quickly. The sandwich arrived an the outer 20mm around the edge was dry and totally inedible, the centre was edible and as I was short of time I ate what I could and returned to the counter to make the staff aware of the problem. The assistant said that if I had immediately returned it they could have done something about it, however, as I explained I didn't have time to do that and had to make my appointment. I was told that I could fill in a comments card, a refund was not offered, I had to leave but decided to call the store manager (Tony), I explained the situation and expressed my dissatisfaction again a refund was not offered and I wasn't asked for my details. Sainsbury you really need to nip this kind of poor service in the bud, supermarket financial performance and success will inevitably be decided through customer service. Maybe you are too big to control the customer facing side of the business. What would I have expected; I should have been given a refund, the evidence was presented to the cafe staff and the food quality not disputed, after calling the manager he should have taken my details, investigated further and got back to me, this he didn't bother to do and so I was left with a feeling of having been ripped off and that Sainsburys couldn't care less. This is not the first Saintsbury's cafe review and not the first where problems could have been addressed. It's not about the few pounds but the principle, I paid for food of a reasonable standard and that standard was not met, neither was my complaint dealt with in a satisfactory way. Still annoyed and you really deserve this review.

while doing a bit of shopping i said to my husband whats for dinner, he said no idea, so i said lets have a look on the sainsbury's menu board, i chose lasagne, and hubby chose wiltshire ham and chips, our meals took 5 minutes to arrive, mine also had the traditional garlic bread two slices, plus chips, it was quite a nice meal, and cost only £4, john really enjoyed his wiltshire ham, [his favourite ] it came with chips and two eggs, nicely cooked, the cost , £5, we have paid as much as £12 in a pub restaurant for the same, all finished off for me with a nice hot cappuchino, and an orange drink for john. an enjoyable meal all round. total cost £12.65, plus 24 nectar points earned and 1 active kids voucher,, value for money, and an enjoyable meal as well, we will be going again.

We always pop in here when visiting cheshire Oaks. You can easily walk to it from the shopping centre and the prices are a lot better than those in the eating places at Cheshire Oaks! We had breakfast here the service is good and the food is freshly prepared and very good. My only moan with it now is that i think you are supposed to clear your own table which to be honest i dont expect to do when i go somewhere for food! So i have to admit i didnt clear my table and it appeared that most people didnt as the tables were in need of clearing! Would i return yes would i recommend yes.

Extremely disappointed tonight which is unusual as we really enjoyed going before refurbishing. Food was not good a all. 3 cheese burgers one plain and 2 with one piece of lettuce and a chunk of onion. The fries on all three plates were overcooked. The onion rings were overcooked although we did eat some. The carvery was nice except for pigs on blankets as they had been left under heat lamp far to long inedible. The fried chicken sandwich was tasty.but again fries overcooked. The young lady gave me a box to bring the full burger home to put in the bin. This is unusual so not sure if they changed the chief or they were having a bad day. Tripped over the side of the chair and hurt my leg and informed the young lady it was a safety issue she said she would inform the manager but didn’t take steps to remove the hazard. ( not sure yellow and black hazard tape is adequate if it’s covered by the arm of the chair that’s broke ?) this time wasn’t value for money and we left feeling dissatisfied. Felt like they just couldn’t be bothered . Sad really as we have loved eating here 😔

A friend took me for lunch at the cafe yesterday. We were both impressed by how welcoming it felt, how friendly and pleasant the staff were and the quality of the food. So I was surprised to see negative reviews and felt I should express my opinion. I wouldn't hesitate to return, especially to sample the scones and cakes.

Lovely staff and atmosphere. Very welcoming place. We have visited the cafe regularly for the past 6 months and cannot fault the place. We watched a few bands there too and they have been brilliant. My only complaint is the site has let the trees grow a little and hinders the of the lovely view of the fields beyond.
