Sainsburys cafe in Central Bedfordshire

Consistently awful! 20 minute wait to be served. 20’minute wait for food. Soup eventually arrived without roll and butter as advertised. Too long a queue to complain !

Had a very good Brunch here today. Omelette with choice of fillings, hash brown and beans for £4, excellent value. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Well made omelette.

We came as a family, for a nice lunch out. There was a big queue as no one was serving anyone. We finally got served and i ordered my food ( a toasted sandwich ), which was just sitting on the side still in the packet for 20 minutes. The rest of my family had already finished their food. I asked where mine was and the man just nodded and said it’s coming, without making eye contact. It finally came and wasn’t even toasted properly. I asked for cutlery and he just pointed to where it was. Shocked by the rudeness and how unorganised the staff were! Won’t be coming back.

Took mum for lunch after our shop, we ordered and was told 20 minute wait. We waited longer and had finished our drinks. Our meal finally arrived with no apology and the man never acknowledged us as if ignoring us. Also there was one lady clearing the tables but not very well. So cutlery, cups etc were running low. Sainsburys need to up their game and improve their service. More staff on the floor clearing the tables and improving the cleaniless. I certainly won't eat there again as I was very disappointed. Where was the Manager at the time, could not exactly complain!!

Just stopped by for a snack. Food passable but not special. Had Ham, egg & chips which was ok but chips were a bit hard.

Called in for a quick cuppa on Sunday after shopping, never known such bad service waited 15 min just for them to make one tea and one coffee it needs a manager to sort it out it's a disgrace. Come on Sainsbury's you can do better.

No hot food today & we were told it has been the same for a week. Will not be visiting again as there are other places to eat close by.

The new and improved cafe at London colney is terrible. The tables are all full of cups and plates that haven't been cleared up .... The floor is filthy . No one is cleaning up . It is disgusting !!! I thought there was supposed to be a new menu ? Looks like the same old menu to me .. We were told that our waiting time for food would half hour ... 50 mins later we are still waiting !!! .***avoid ****

My wife and I recently popped in here for a quick bite. She did not find it very easy to see the menu board behind the counter from her wheelchair. We had toasted baguette which were over £3 each, and not very big plus green tea at I think £1.50 each (a tea bag and hot water!) you would think a large supermarket chain could do better than this at the discount they must purchase their food at, especially since the people they want to use the cafe are shopping there anyway. That by the by, the worst thing was the dirty cutlery, I took out knives for our baguettes and spoons for our teas from the cutlery tray only to find residue of food on several of the knives. I chose the least soiled and rubbed them down with a couple of paper serviettes. There is no way this cutlery was ever checked for cleanliness or wiped after coming out of the dishwasher. I wont be going back here again. The baguettes were actually quite tasty but our experience with the cutlery has totally put me off, yuk!

We often go for breakfast. Good choice of food , at great prices. However dining area is quite small and gets full quickly. Quite often can't get in! However there is one in Luton!! Staff always friendly but service is a bit slow!

Lovely food, always fresh or just cooked so hot. Very clean. Good prices. Good variety to choose from on the menu.

Rude staff! Feel like they are constantly talking about you too. Always looking over and talking and laughing. Not only to me but to others sitting around. Horrible stale food took ages!! There was one boy who was really nice. But all the rest were just young and rude. Sainsbury’s get some decent staff!!

This restaurant is brilliant for what it is, a supermarket restaurant, not big and only a small menu but great for what it is.

can get a good meal and its not expensive, would recommend this place to get a quick meal Ive had a few good meals here and the chips are lovely

Stopped here for Breakfast on the way to Milton Keynes for a family get together, we got here just before 10am on a Sunday and the cafe was quite busy. We queued up behind several Sainsburys staff members, and regretted it as each one paid separately, and each one tried and failed several times to use their staff discount cards! we ordered 2 big breakfasts, a vegetarian breakfast and a breakfast omelette. We waited quite some time for the food to come out and the cafe was so cold we all kept our coats on. When it did arrive there were a few mistakes, no toast with 1 breakfast, only 1 hash brown with the omelette but these were corrected quickly. Unfortunately the food was not hot and looked as though it had been thrown on the plate. Having to wait behind staff members as they all chat to each other (which would be fine if customers were not forming a long que ) meant we didnt have time to stop and buy anything in the shop itself, and to be honest the food wasnt worth the wait.
