Prior to covid we always used the local McDonald’s in Otford for a burger take away although 50% of the time they got the order wrong. So, I had to always unpack it in the store to check it out. Post covid we had got out of the habit of using McDonald’s and welcomed the opening of Sainsbury’s food court. Initially for the first few take a ways we chose the Harry Ramsden’s cod, chips and mushy peas and it was excellent value for money. However after the first month the price of this rose significantly so then we chose the Gourmet Burger option. In contract to McDonald’s, amazingly the staff got the orders right every time and the burgers themselves were great if a little expensive. However, all this changed in the first week in July. I specified my usual take away order ( a burger meal plus a plain burger) with the burgers being medium cooked. The server told me it was no longer necessary to state this as ‘medium’ was now the default. OK, I said then on the burger meal I didn’t want any bacon or cheese - which is the option they always ask about – just the salad. Also on the single burger I only wanted meat on the bun – nothing else. When I got the order home I found the food was now McDonald’s standard and not Gourmet Burger. The burger in the meal option was smothered in cheese and bacon and came without salad. Even worse was the fact that the meat in the bun was now totally different. It had shrunk in size to that of a McDonalds quarter pounder and even tasted like it having lost its previous distinctive delicious smoky flavour. If this is to be the norm then it obviously begs the question as to why use the food court when similar sub standard service and food can be purchased significantly cheaper across the road at McDonald’s.

Was really looking forward to trying out the cafe since being refurbished. However, it was a very disappointing experience. The atmosphere generally was grumpy and unwelcoming. The food was okay however, us and other customers in the cafe had food missing. When enquiring about missing food, the staff were a bit rude. Our drinks took forever to come and they were only lattes, one was the wrong order when it came. Wouldn’t return

Went up to the cafe for a hot drink. Multiple advertising for tea and a mince pie. Queued for five minutes to be told pies out of stock but I could have a different mine pie. I said fine, the girl says £2, the adverts say £2.60. She won’t match the price. So I asked for s coffee instead. She tells her colleague to pour it and tries to charge me for the larger size. I say No I want regular. She cancels the order and starts again. No wonder there’s a huge queue!!

Decided to have late lunch today .... had to wait nearly thirty mins for our soup and chips ... whilst we were waiting we witnessed a staff member being very short temped with other customers over a mixed up order ... when our soup and chips eventually turned up the roll and butter was missing when we asked where it was we was told very abruptly they had run out .... I said this wasn’t good enough for somewhere such as Sainsbury’s and asked to see the manager or be refunded for the roll and butter ... was a little taken back when the young girl replied we haven’t got time we are busy ..... eventually a more professional member of staff (lovely chatty lady ) who was also trying to sort out other complaints came over and said to the other member of staff there is one on the counter .... just plate a roll with some butter and went off to deal with other complaints ..... this young girls attitude and demonstration of customer service was appalling .... well done to the other member of staff who was trying to sort out at least two complaints involving two separate members of staff ..... won’t be having lunch there again in a hurry ..... local resident

I would just like to say that the coffee shop is ok to visit but for the last 2 visits the coffee machine has not been working which is quite ridiculous waiting for a part. I am quite sure a business the size of Sainsbury's could afford to always have a back up machine. Quite disappointed as it's the girls and boys behind the counter that get the grumbles and it's not their fault. Sort it out Sainsbury's.

This was a handy stopping place while I waited in the area - but I wouldn’t rush back. The staff were fine, food mediocre and moderate value. I was there for an hour and noticed how chilly it was - strangely more so than the main shop floor; hopefully this isn’t a cynical tactic to deter lingerers.

It's cheap canteen food. I find it pretty tasteless but my elderly mother likes it, so we go. Nice coffee though. It needs to be more aware of the dirty tables. I have had to ask for them to be cleaned on numerous times and a couple of times, I have been handed the cloth and cleaning spray to clean it myself. A few times my mother has been unable to eat her carrots as they were too hard so she tends to leave them off now. Coffee is good though. Did I say that before ? It is what it is, canteen food and cheap.

Popped into Sainsbury’s ‘cause I’m fed up with McDonalds Breakfast ! The staff are friendly enough but the cooked food was not up to scratch! Dried out baked beans, toast that was not buttered & really dirty cutlery, which was taken by a member of staff, who then had to find clean cutlery elsewhere! The Latte turned out to be cappacino All in all really disappointed 😟

Visited the Sainsbury’s cafe for. Coffe with my parents. We were only there for coffee but I was pleasantly surprised to see that they also have quite a range of cooked meals - fish & chips, lasagne etc - which I was not expecting. Plentiful seating and space to keep your shopping trolley nearby. Nothing out of the ordinary but exactly what you would expect from a supermarket cafe.

Lots of parking. On the first floor with lift access. Nice layout with views across the car park or to the store underneath. One drink out of four wasn't the best with it not being as hot as it should be. Two out of four of the meals weren't hot just warm with toast over done on both. Was ok for a quick lunch but would not overly recommend.

With a supermarket full of fresh food to choose from, you would expect something good and you won't be disappointed. I've only been twice but intend to become a regular.

I’ve been going to this cafe on and off for 10 years. I have to say my experience has gone downhill since Covid. My recent visit has been very disappointing . I ordered a Spinach and Mushroom Quiche with salads. First of all, the Quiche was still frozen in the middle. Secondly, I didn’t even have time to argue because my daughter has been stung by a wasp. Totally understood this is normal in warm weather but the Cafe’s reaction has been shocking. I went to the counter to ask for some ice. It took at least 5 mins for the waiter to get it despite I can see a bag of ice lying on the table with 1 waitress standing next to it chatting to another lady. I asked can someone just give me the ice as my daughter is crying in pain. I was told someone has gone to get first aid and they can’t “just give me the ice”. After another 5 mins, the first aid has finally showed up. After asking what happened, his words are: oh…..I’m afraid there is not much I can do. I said can you grab me some ice please? It is at that point we finally got the ice!!! I washed my daughter’s wound with some soapy water after a quick google on what to do. I’m not a fully qualified first aid by no means. The cafe has an outside sitting area and wasp sting would be very common. Pleas train your staff on what to do or get some wasps trap like Polhill did. Very disappointing and I would have to end my visit after 10 years. Service standard has gone down too. Most of them look like they don’t want to work there and have a terrible attitude.

I had a couple of hours to kill while on business in Sevenoaks, and fancied an all day breakfast. I googled and found this little place off the beaten track (didn't want to pay for parking!). Really tasty full English breakfast and a good cup of coffee, and ever so great value at £8.00. Maybe not the greatest venue, but definitely worth it for the food.

Add coffees before we went around the house and there were plenty of tables both inside and outside. Having visited the house we then went back for some lunch and had a variety of items from the menu. All items were very tasty and well presented. The staff on the counters were fine. They could’ve been a bit more efficient doing hot drinks when there was a big queue, else food and service was really good.

Costa Café is a gem! From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by the friendly staff, especially the one with the amazing tattoos, Nina--they were so warm and attentive. The atmosphere felt relaxed and inviting, with locals chatting and even offering great suggestions on places to visit and things to do in the area. The coffee was perfectly brewed, and the treats were delicious, making it the ideal spot to relax and recharge. Highly recommend stopping by for a cozy, welcoming vibe and top-notch coffee!
