Sainsbury's Cafe in Stoke-on-Trent

It’s okay, not the best food and drink in the world. Only ideal if you need a ten min rest from your shopping.

3 staff moving at 1mph A 45 minute wait for avocado (cold) smoked salmon (cold) and toast (2min cook time) Worked in industry for 10 years and really don’t understand how a place could function so dreadfully. Do not come here!

We popped in for a quick lunch. Pros Easy to find Cheap Nice selection of food. Minus A shortage of trays made things awkward. Slow (albeit very friendly) service. Plenty of room. It's not posh and doesn't pretend to be.

This is an inexpensive place to eat. Reasonable food at a reasonable price. Slow service, but a pretty good feed when it eventually arrives.

Only one person on the counter on a Saturday, taking orders and making coffees. Queue sometimes 6 or 7 deep and a 30 plus minute wait to be served. Lady in front of us ordered a toasted teacake. Now 15.mins since ordering, still no sign of it.. Very poor!!!

After waiting in line for 10 mins with only one person in front should have been a warning signal. Order food, wait 35 minutes and it arrives with incorrect order. Sent back to wait a further 15 mins for food to be returned obviously been kept u see the grill (not s hot one) food was cold and rubbery! Will not use again.

I thought I would try out their breakfast so ordered the big one. It was large enough for the biggest appetite and at £4.50 it was pretty good value. Although they were not busy, the food took longer to arrive than I was expecting, suggesting that it was all cooked to order. Everything was good and I was more than satisfied.

Used to go here years ago then food tailed off a bit so stopped going. Returned the other day, out of necessity, and it's certainly improved. Ample seating. Both Cafe style and the more relaxed. Good choice on menu for hot food. Offers various sandwiches and cakes if you just want something more simple. Possible to read one of the papers on hand while in cafe Cottage pie and steamed salmon very nice. Friendly staff and clean tables on our visit.

The place could be much cleaner. The prices are cheap though. Overall, it's just average so it's your choice if you want to come here.

Popped in for breakfast while staying at the premier inn opposite,half the price of brewers fayre food and a very nice full breakfast well cooked and presented with a good menu to choose from,clean restaurant friendly staff.
