I visited the cafe with quite a few members of my family. I was a little flustered as I collected all our orders together. The lady who served me was so kind and patient. She never looked anything other than attentive and welcoming. I thanked her for making my experience enjoyable. The food was great! I hope the manager sees this. Your staff are appreciated.

Sainsbury's used to have a very nice restaurant with lovely food and very reasonably priced. On visiting today, it is now a cafe with very limited choice. Pre-packed toasties, sandwiches, etc. No choice of bread, only white, and a sliver of ham and a little cheese. The latte was much too strong and undrinkable. I certainly won't be visiting again. Such a shame they have ruined something good.

Well, what a shocker! The once excellent battered cod has been replaced by an inedible triangle purporting to be cod in batter which was revolting! And I waited 25 minutes for this yuk. When questioned a member of staff said the item had replaced the original one - tragedy. Before the crisp wonderful real batter on real fish was excellent and fantastic value for £. If they don't change back to the original version - no longer a place for me to grab a 'quick good value' meal :(

Made the mistake of ordering a "Bigger Breakfast" on Wednesday (4.3.20.) at around 8.00am. Having waited for 25 minutes (I kid you not) my coffee was cold and so was most of the food. Soggy hash browns, overdone eggs, wet white "toast", boney sausages, cold beans, half a raw tomato and a giant uncooked mushroom were all virtually inedible. Sainsburys, you need to fire whoever is working that kitchen and get someone with at least basic cooking skills in.

Popped in for quick breakfast as we were passing.. cafe was quiet about 30 people .. ordered 2 breakfast ..got our drinks ..sat down .. and waited..and waited .. drinks drunk...still waiting .. 40mins later our food arrived, should of learnt our lesson last time .. needless to say won't be going back it's a shame because a supermarket breakfast is very convenient.. try Morrison's next time.

We only stopped here for petrol and then decided to get a coffee and use the toilets. Very large, spotless area with both chairs, tables, small sofas and coffee tables. Ideal ‘man crèche’.

Stopped off at Sainsbury's Supermarket Cafe in Alphington Exeter today. Good facilities and accessible via stairs or elevator. Friendly staff and good selection of food and cafe drinks. Their roast dinner looked lovely and was only £5, cakes are £2.35.

I feel strongly that the staff here do a great job,and like many supermarkets they will all be on minimum wage. They work politely, and are always pleasant The food is brought to the table, which are not always cleared,as are requested to do by the customer! I think it's great service.value for money

I’ve always liked the big cafe in this Sainsbury’s with the massive windows and a sunshine piling in, but recently there’s been a decline in standards. We went at 13:00 on Sunday. It didn’t look busy. Apologising in advance, the assistant said food would be 20 minutes. But it arrived after 45 minutes, and it was adequate rather than good. I don’t know what’s happened to the management here. We go to some of the other Sainsbury’s cafes, and they’re sometimes so quick to deliver the same type of meal we’ve only just sat down!Perhaps staff morale here is low; perhaps they cut down on staff numbers and training to cut costs. It’s a pity that the management have stopped caring. A visit from Gordon Ramsey is called for. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Obviously a suitable stop for lunch in particular which, although a little noisy was just what we needed at the time.

About a quarter full but half an hour wait for food, even just to heat a panini. No apology. Staff never know how to work the till properly. Dreadful service. The could at least give free drinks refills while you're waiting.

Food is good but Probably would have been quicker to go downstairs, buy the food go home and then make it. It’s unbearably slow service, I tried queing again a few days previously and gave up and then left on that occasion. Needs serious improvement

Came here are ordered 2 coffees and two breakfasts. Coffees were great. Staff came over with 2 plates of toast and said for us. No we replied. I showed the receipt and was told there had been an error. Fine, things happen. Then came back with 2 small breakfasts, so showed receipt showing 1 small and 1 large. Third time lucky? Noooo. Right orders but food lukewarm at best. Given a refund but that was a palaver. I'm afraid that is the last time I'd order food from here.

I went with my sister and brother-in-law for an early birthday celebration. When we arrived, there were a few tables and chairs outside in the sunshine. As I’m not allowed to sit facing the sun, because of my health, I was able to sit with the sun on my back and part of me was in the shade. They had a cappuccino each and a bacon blini and I had cress and egg sandwiches with a mango and passion fruit cooler. I found mine to be very delicious, though I thought a tad expensive for their coffees and my meal. One of the male staff cleared away the dirty plates and drinks on the different trays, as we sat there. He took ours away, when we finished. I’m not sure if I’ll go by myself to have lunch here.

Visited early on a Saturday morning before it was really busy, and had a friendly welcome and quick service. The shop was clean and comfortable. Not sure what it'd be like once it gets busy, but my experience was good.
