I think it is excellent cafe value for money, and would hate to see it close down it is thriving and there staff work extremely hard and it is a lovely meeting place for friends

I visited today with my children and it was awful. The cafe staff clearly didn’t have a clue how to work the till. I was charged over £6 for a salmon fillet dinner. The salmon was fine but the green beans and potatoes had been obliterated in a microwave and we’re shrivelled and soggy. The French beans hadn’t even been trimmed and were soft. The portion sizes were minute. The two childrens sausage meals were literally one sausage and a small amount of baked beans. Will never be going again.

I had an all day full breakfast at Sainsbury's Stroud today and it was excellent. Tasty, well cooked and plenty of it, and such good value. My only concern was I did not see any tables being wiped and sanitised, otherwise it would have been marked at 5 star. The last meal taken at this restaurant was before Covid struck.

It's OK, it's what you'd expect, heady mix of grannies and mummies having wholesome food. Nothing memorable here at all, but you know, that view of the fresh food is one to savour.

The queue is normally horrendous in the cafe. This time however it wasn’t which was great. However we waited almost an hour for our lunch to be served as did other people in the cafe. There are never enough staff in the cafe but clearly today not enough in the kitchen either. A real shame.

It's a good place to go when there's a lot of people waiting. If it is, the staffing levels just aren't suitable. The staff are competent, just not enough when the restaurant is very busy.

Tables, chairs and floors sticky and covered in various crumbs and food waste. Ordered a cappuccino, both the coffee and milk were burned (milk was resteamed three times before mine was made). Smoked salmon and scrambled egg bagel was incredibly dry, the bagel was not buttered which wouldn’t have mattered if the scrambled egg hadn’t resembled the scrapings off the bottom of an omelette pan. Although expectations are low when visiting a supermarket market cafe, on this occasion both drink and food were not fit for purpose, therefore a waste of my money and their resources. A simple bit of barista and food prep training and a cleaner should be a priority for whoever manages this cafe.

We are regularly here or stopped for coffee. The quality has declined dramatically and the staff seem to have limited training/experience. Getting served is slow. The staff are always friendly but seem unable to manage. Shame as it’s a nice cafe that is no longer on our list to visit!

Visited several times for a quick lunch - ham salad, butternut squash noodle with bolognese sauce, bacon sandwich all good at various times. Good selection of food hot and cold, plus the usual cakes and drinks. Always busy (sometimes 20 minute wait for hot food is a pain if time is limited). Free wifi. Reliable quality and good value.

Very surprised to be served quickly with hot food at this cafe, as our local Sainsbury's are woefully slow! Great staff, food good.

Breakfast for £4.25 came out cold, missing hash brown which I then had to ask for. Service staff were fine. Won't go again

Sainsbury's cafe is extremely good value for money so nice after a long day at work to be able to enjoy a cappuccino and a scone before the onerous job of the weekly shop. I have also been to the cafe for lunch the menu is excellent with a variety of hot meals, sandwiches and cakes etc and also a very good childrens menu, there is a very good seating area and tables have always been cleaned promptly while I have been there, however you are expected to clear your own table which we have never found to be a problem .

Some great offers and meal choices, we came in today for some light lunch, served promptly by a gentleman (assuming the manager) very polite and funny. Made to feel welcome and relaxed. It was very busy we waited no longer than 15 minutes for our food and it came out hot 🔥 and tasty! This place I cannot recommend enough! I thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Lamb shank was tasty and my partner said his risotto was very good.

We celebrated my Mum’s 80th birthday here. Arranged a table of 15 within the library area of the restaurant. The food was fantastic and the attentiveness of the staff was without fault. They made it a very special occasion.

We arrived in Stroud mid afternoon on a Saturday. The kids were starving and every other place we tried to get into was in the process of shutting. Despite Stroud being packed, Milano appeared to be the only place open that was still doing lunch or any type of food for that matter ! The lady behind the counter was super friendly and everything that we had to eat was tasty and really good value too. My youngest especially liked the Spag Bol and the proper milk shake made with ice cream. Don`t be put off by some of the reviews on here, it`s a nice place and really friendly. Just don`t go in expecting a restaurant, the clue is in the word cafe !

Popped in today with a few friends for brunch. I expected amazing things but was left with a sour taste. I had the Avocado with poached eggs. Unfortunately, the toast it was served on was very hard, making it difficult to cut, and the avocado was either a pre packed kind, with lots of citrusy preservative or they something to it which makes it tastes as such. It was sour and bitter and really just not that nice. The full breakfasts looked much better, I have to say. Another unfortunate incident was being given a 3-shot coffee. I have a pet-peeve about large coffees that don’t have extra coffee compared to small versions, so I asked the server if the large has extra coffee compared to the small, and I thought he said ‘it has en extra shot’. A little while after finishing my coffee I suddenly had heart palpitations, when the bill arrived I realised why, I had been charged for an extra shot. I’m not blaming him necessarily but it was so loud in the cafe that I’m assuming he didn’t hear me correctly and me him. I think it would be worth mentioning to the staff that it’s worth repeating the order to a customer because if he had said ‘a large cappuccino with an extra shot’ I would have very quickly corrected him. I did mention it to the woman taking payment and she thankfully took it off the bill, so at least I didn’t pay for it. So I left the cafe with a bad taste from the avocado and heart palpitations from the coffee. Such a shame.
