Sadly this cafe did not reopen after Covid. A lot of people used to meet up there and there is no similar venue within a mile.

extremely rude staff, unreasonable. All togheder first and last visit. Strongly recommend anywhere else.

I have visited this cafe a few times now. I do say, this cafe in the north of Luton isn’t too bad for what it sells. Despiting it being January on a Monday afternoon, this will be the one chained cafe I will not be returning too after this.... I usually set foot to this supermarket regularly, and to get a spot of lunch. I do agree with the previous reviews, this cafe takes the mic! I arrived here mid afternoon, fairly busy, few staff in. Quite a queue to order. Does do decent food, hot food, cakes, drinks. At first, I do believe the staff do need better training, as the lady behind the till, clearly didn’t know what she was doing, going slow and questioning other customers and staff on what needed to be done. However, when I came to order my take out, the woman didn’t seem to be understand what I meant??? I repeated myself five times, ‘could I have take out please’ it got so bad that the woman had to come right up to me.. whilst other customers and team members seemed pretty embarrassed! Clearly the staffs customer service skills have seriously gone down hill(can’t even communicate properly) When she gave me the sign to wait for an order, I do must admit it, service was slow as anything... staff seemed to have no interest or no enthusiasm... quite a lot of hot food coming out, mine took a while! This cafe does seem a bit disorganised and very slow service, I think this is something that the company needs to look into!!!

My husband and I go for breakfast quite regularly, there is a great selection of food and it very nice, especially the sausages!! The lunches ,salads, sandwiches& kids food all look very nice & good value for money. Great selection of drinks & beverages .

This place just gets worse and worse. Slow service, miserable staff, stock outs, dirty tables and chairs, no crockery, no cutlery. Does any body in this organisation care what their restaurant is like. This is not a one off either its always like this. It is appalling.

So many issues on this visit. So many issues with the food and having to send it back etc and the staff just aren’t great. It’s gone down hill so much in recent years.. total avoid now

The breakfast at Sainsbury is Excellent value for your money always done as you like it if you want your egg hard it is done hard or you can change it for scrambled egg

Awful. Staff more interested in talking to each other about clocking in then engaging with us during the order. Served by 3 people during the time there not a single smile among them. When the food arrived I can only say it was plonked down without checking who was having what, no interaction at all and a swift exit. The food itself is poor. Granted it's a supermarket cafe not fine dining but my breakfast was cold bacon barely cooked and bland. The omelette was limp and tasteless and honestly looked like it was cooked in an airplane microwave."microwaved scrambled egg with ham shoved in it" was the description.A Few dirty tables around and saw one woman cleaning her own before sitting down. Just nothing there that would make me think it was worth returning again.

This place needs a lot more care and attention. Invariably the floor is dirty and the tables are covered in finished plates and unwiped. The staff work hard but usually look stressed.

8 of us to eat lunch all served at the same time l, good menu lots of choice food very hot and good size portion. Restaurant could do with a good clean though and tables cleared very slowly

The restaurant is filthy and the floor around the tables littered with food. There did not appear to be anyone to clean up. Knives and forks were filthy. We waited forty minutes for two meals to arrive and then gave up and requested a refund. Worst place we have ever been.

More about quantity than quality Plenty on the plate but pretty tasteless. Toast was soggy. Rest was average.

A limited but edible food. Nothing fancy but wholesome food. Good for a reasonable price food. It is always hot/ Eat there at least once a month

For a supermarket restaurant this really is difficult to beat. Unbelievable prices, really good coffee and food is pretty good too. The menu isn't huge but a full English including a veggie option, omelette, bacon and sausage door step sarnies and various egg options is a great way to star the day. There are free news papers to browse through while you wait but it's never very long. Good quality, good value and clean. I could probably find something to moan about if I tried hard enough but what do you expect from a supermarket restaurant. I would go every weekend if my body could take the calories 😢

We often eat at Sainsburys as the food is fine and very tasty. But last time I ordered a big brunch and did not want baked beans. I asked for another egg. This would make three on my plate. I was told I could not have three eggs but could have a mushroom or tomato. I have since found out that the till will not process another egg on this meal. I do not expect anybody let a lone a till to decide what or not I can eat. Apparently the staff are not happy with this situation. I would suggest they leave it to the customer to decide.

I had lunch here a couple of weeks ago. The staff were just lovely but there weren't many of them. The food was very late, and in some cases, cold.

Was in for breakfast Sunday morning. Lovely meal. Hot fresh food. Clean surrounding. Tables nice and clean. Lovely displays in the cabinets. Lovely service by the staff. Seamed to want to serve with more than a smile. Keep up the good work.

Me gusta llevar a mi nieta allí para ella té. Pero he tenido que parar porque tarda mucho en llegar la comida. Cuando se trata es más caliente y fría.

Buen lugar para descansar antes o después de las compras, la comida está bien, pero no genial. La mayoría usan pensionistas para atrapar durante el día, pero es un precio razonable y conveniente, así que vale la pena utilizar si estás en la zona. No esperes servicio aunque Silver.

Disappointing...... Coffee was only luke warm, more forth than liquid. Only ordered a portion of chips, such a long wait, eventually when they arrived they were over cooked !!!!!!! Could do so much better, especially as there were some many staff present.

Experiencia horrible. El desayuno estaba anunciado hasta las 11. 30. Llegué a las 11. 28 pero el servicio se negó. Me llamó mentiroso y públicamente el asistente dijo que no estaba en la cola cuando la junta fue cambiado. No importa que no sirve si el restaurante era demasiado ocupado (como ocurre a menudo) pero para ser públicamente avergonzó en esa forma era espantoso. La comida es mediocre en el mejor de los tiempos, pero es conveniente para donde estoy. Pasará más tiempo lejanos al lado en la búsqueda de un buen servicio al cliente. Lo siento Sainsbury's - acabas perdido otro cliente a la competencia.

La comida siempre es bueno, pero con frecuencia la espera es de por lo menos media hora. No sé cómo lo hacen. . Conocen la cantidad de personas que llegan la mayoría de las mañanas, pero no cocinar la comida? Quizás es realmente el pedido pero media hora?

Este es un lugar conveniente para mí reunirme con la familia para una taza de café rápida y quizás una tarta cada ahora y entonces, pero no es un lugar que elegiría para el almuerzo y la cena, ya que el ambiente no es tan...

It's a well run clean eatery . Very good food not fussy but hot and cooked on site. I go with grand daughter at least once a week she love the children's menus X but I always save her some of mine well done keep up the good work

Took my grandaughter to cafe today order child's portion chicken nuggets meal we were served three over cooked burnt dried up rock hard nuggets when I returned them to the waitress and showed her they were so rock hard you can't even bite into them she just laughed. Five minutes later she retuned with three slightly better but no apologies at all. Shame on you sainsburys for your poor restaurant we will not be returning to eat or shop.

Food is okay if you can wait that long. We queued for nearly twenty minutes, then had to wait another 25 minutes for the food to come out. Tables were still dirty with used plates etc. Had to clean table ourselves. When we tried to complain we were told it wasn't their fault, they were short staffed. When the food eventually came out it was good.

Going here less and less as a last resort option for breakfast. Cheap ingredients and I can guarantee that at least one item on my plate will come out cold.Dirty tables and tarnished cutlery.

Took my daughter for a quick tea prior to shopping. Tables dirty needed clearing, signs say 'self clearing' if the customer didn't clear them then they sat there. Meal was OK I suppose generally. However my main gripe was that in a bid to make a healthy choice I requested that the chips were swapped out in favour of a jacket potato no butter. I was stunned to be told that I could only have HALF a potato to replace a portion of chips! What, I hear you ask happens to the other half? Well it might be sold but if not it is thrown away! Never in my long years have I heard of a restraunt giving an adult portion as Half a small burnt jacket potato. Shan't be going back.

We often visit the Café as it is so local and very familiar to my dad who has Dementia. He loves their bowl of chips, pot of tea and custard tarts, simple things in life but to him a joy!!!

They think of their customers, providing lifts etc. Service is sometimes quick, sometimes abysmally slow (half an hour!!). Food is normally great but sometimes not the best (stale, cold and cremated sausage sandwich, anyone?)Overall, handy if your there, but don't make a special trip.

Decided to have a late lunch at this cafe, on entering I discovered that all the tables free were still full of past customers meals and drinks a pile of pizza boxes on one and the other the remains of half eaten food and discarded drinks, I asked if these could be cleaned, I was told blandly "they should be" on my food being brought I was given the tray as no room existed on the table as it was still full of food, I then asked could this be cleared and was told it's a self clean cafe, I asked where is that information and pointed to a sign that simply said self clear tucked away from most of the public view. The peas were stop cold that looked like they had been laying around several hours.. Extremely disturbed at the hygiene and utter chaos ..

We usually have breakfast here most Sundays before my weekly food shopping, i always have a veg breakfast and its pathetic really compared to what our veg breakfast is at my cafe in Bedford but its just convenient. Also im assuming that they dont have enough equipment in the kitchen because as soon as they get a little busy you could be waiting for your breakfast over half an hour, and there's one lady in the cafe that likes to collect the sauces off the table whilst you're still eating, i find that very rude personally, other than that its a supermarket cafe and i suppose you couldn't expect 5 star service :)

Not that good and certainly not worth visiting if you just want a meal or snack. It is best viewed as a convenience if you are already there doing your shopping.Food is acceptable and seems rather costly for what you get.The service is appalling, long delays as it would seem that the logistics of the kitchen operation is hopeless. Your ordered meals come in dribs and drabs so by the time you have the complete order the hot drink is now cold and also some of the food is cooled off as well.

had ham and mushroom omlette with salad, egg was rubbery with 1 slice of ham and 4 undercooked mushrooms thrown in the middle, bland, tasteless and cold, only ate the salad as the omlette wasnt fit to eat, staff didnt do any checkbacks and made no attempt to ask how our so called meal was, totally spoilt our day and was furious at lack of customer service and dreadfull food!!

My husband and I took our two children there for breakfast today. I had scrambled egg, bacon, tomato and mushroom. The egg appeared to be made from dried powdered egg, the bacon was cold, the mushroom was soaked in oil and the toast buttered whether I wanted it buttered or not. Why can't they use fresh eggs - it only takes a moment. I presume this is about maximising profits. We all left all or most of our breakfasts. I felt sorry for the staff - the hot drinks machine was on go slow and a huge queue. But why make the pot of tea first and leave it to stew while making coffee and hot chocolate when you know the machine isn't working at normal speed. We haven't been here in years and won't be coming again.

The food is much as you would expect. Standard cafe fare. They do have special offers which make eating there attractive for young families. Avoid early evening unless you like young children having a good run about around your table.

We occasionally use the cafe for lunch after a shop. The restaurant is always clean as are the toilet facilities. Staff are friendly and helpful. The cafe has a good selection of hot and cold foods, desserts and drinks. They also cater for children with packed lunches or hot food. There is plenty of seating and free newspapers to read whilst you wait.The food we order is always tasty and portion sizes are good too. My small children actually enjoy lunching here.

An excellent full English breakfast for just £3.99. Sausage, bacon, egg, tomato, beans, hash brown, 2 slices toast. All ingredients were nice quality. Great value. Overall cleanliness and appearance of cafe is good, light and airy. The only minor negative would be the pile of trays could be cleaner.
