Sainsbury's Café in Swindon

We were told when ordering there was a bit of a wait, around half hour, but was still waiting after an hour. Could not wait any longer. Asked for a refund which was given, but not an apology.

Great food, great value and friendly service.

Went at 11.30am on Sunday for breakfast told wasn't any left and all the breakfast prep thay had was for Monday only been open for an hour and a half and frankly the catering managers attitude was the worst

Food was alright bacon not that warm, egg not as runny as I like. Cutlery was dirty, had trouble picking out any decent clean knifes and forks, see photo of cutlery, apparently clean.

Lady at the till was extremely rude, she ordered the wrong food item on the till and then tried to tell me that I was the one who got it wrong and not her! All I asked was that I got the food that I asked for and I could hear her complaining in the kitchen about me and saying it’s not her fault. Completely embarrassing, the service is terrible but the food is great!

Yet again coffee machines not working and no brown or white sugar. Surely they can get sugar from the shop 🙁

Not the best experience: 1) charged us wrong; 2) waited for fish finger baby dish for almost half an error!!! 3) all tables are really dirty; 4) coffee machine was broken, so their filter coffee was disgusting; 5) atmosphere is really gloomy - no music, everything and everyone was slooooow. Not coming back here again

Got here for lunch, just wanted to get my daughter a quick lunch and have a coffee. All of the coffee machines were out of order, but the filter coffee machine. Lady at the till wasn't confident with the system and kept overcharging me. Waited for 2 fish fingers, chips, pre-cut carrots and baked beans for 25 minutes, I could've cooked everything from scratch much quicker. Overall we wouldn't be back here and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. But only upside is that it's reasonably priced.

Waited 24 minutes to be served with only 4 people Slow woman on the server till and hot drinks area. Everytime I asked for a food item it’s the dumb expression from her and repeating and muddling up what I said. Didn’t have what I wanted so ordered chips plainly. Had a blonde long hair in my coleslaw. Messed up my drink order. Overall get someone on the till who knows what they’re doing. Didn’t even give my receipt.

We came for a breakfast, they had no hot food. Looking at other reviews, it seems this is a constant theme

Feel sorry for the staff, seems very badly managed. whenever I go there for a breakfast its a reduced menu of not much! ok if you want a coffe and bun but for a meal I would not bother.

Useless place. Never there is food be it adults or children. Sainsbury’s should close the cafe. Waste of time coming to the cafe. Either cook is sick or employees are sick or shortage of staff. Time for management to leave. Someone else has to take Sainsbury’s should receive a 0 star.

Visited lunch time and only one member of staff,hardly able to hear her. Once I got to the counter she showed a scrappy bit of paper and apparently there was a choice of 3 items. Not a lot to choose from so we had ham egg and chips. Rock hard chips,cold eggs and generally dreadful. One large cup of tea with the cheapest tea bag so the tea wasn't great but was hot. I had a Pepsi max and this awful meal cost over £15. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. ZERO STARS at best

Always no Hot Food - every time I try to get hot food they tell me not on today - what’s the point of a cafe that can’t serve hot food!!

The food is served very quick however, the food tasted awful and the bacon was served pink. Food was served just as I sat down but would have been happy to wait longer for the food to have been cooked better.

Staff very friendly and kind . Table service excellent. Okay for a quick bite to eat but Food served out needs more attention.

The staff are hard working and pleasant, but that’s the only positive thing to say about the cafe. Since before lockdown, it’s been running out of food (yes, in a supermarket), suffering broken ovens, staff shortages and goodness knows what else on a weekly basis, meaning we never know when we arrive if it’s going to be open, or if hot food is on offer. The very worst run supermarket cafe anywhere around.

The restaurant was short staffed and a lot of the menu items were out of stock, but the food we did have was pretty good, good value for money and it looked pretty clean.

By far the worst cafe in the town. Never have a full menu and often don't even have chips. Always a queue to get served and after a 10 min wait your to order you are then told food will be 20 - 30 mins. On the plus side it is always clean

Nothing special and a bit overpriced. Food was OK. Came in for an all-day breakfast but wasn't available (which feels odd as the cafe is connected to a supermarket), but not communicated until ordering (awkward to choose something else with a big line behind me). Friendly staff.

Would have been 5 stars if they'd been serving a full menu, but they only did their bite size breakfasts the past 2 visits. Excellent value though and very enjoyable.

I usually have a full English. Food is ok but price is always good!

Nice, very good value for money, delicious food, plus very nice coffee and tea. Polite, efficient staff, everything nice and clean, including Store Loos. The only issue is that it is cold in the Cafe, partly due to it being near to the front entrance, but mainly due to the Air Conditioning, which blows out cool air in the Winter! If they can sort out the temperature in a the Cafe, it will be a completely pleasurable experience, at a very reasonable price!

Tables and floor are filthy. Only ordered a baguette and jacket potato, later told the baguette was sold out so changed filling. Fine, but that was 45 minutes ago and nothing has left the kitchen for at least 30 minutes. Don't think I'll be fed any time soon...

It was very cold in there today

Can Sainsbury's Cafe tell me why they cant reheat or warm my pastry? As a staff behind the counter told my wife they cant reheat pastry (that has been kept on display @ Room temperature) as its on Sainsbury's rule book!! Sad we couldnt enjoy a warm pastry with our Hot Tea! Explain please...

Friendly staff, food okay but the wait for food is up to 30 minutes around lunchtime.

They can vary store to store, they are OK if convenience is your requirement.

I really liked eating here. It's good value, and convenient.

Food is usually good but breakfast has a cut off time and they stop even if you are in the queue.

Lovely staff member on the checkout. Not so good food wise limited choices on main course due to end of day shortages. Come on Sainburys all those love ready meals you have that take minutes to cook. Salad a bit floppy backed potatoes had been done hours ago tuna that I had with it tired looking. Dissapointing.

Very helpful staff , really good value for money. I had the soup..broccoli and Stilton..OK but would prefer their tomato and Basil but that's just personal taste. Bacon was cold in bacon sandwich also air con very cold had to leave my coat on. Hence only 3 stars.

No no-sense cafe inside Sainsbury supermarket. Foods basic but pretty good value for money & is served in good time. One thing that often let's the place down is the cleanliness of the tables and chairs, especially in busier periods. Customers are meant to clear their own food away which a few signs do say, but think the counter staff probably need to remind people about as often people just leave without clearing up. Also there's no cloth or tissue and cleaner system the customer can use to wipe down a table, so generally have to make do with one that's got food/tea stains etc from the last few people.

Good service, very well priced food but freezing as close to the main entrance

The cafe food and service were fine, though a bit slow because it was busy. But wow was it a mess. Floor was covered in rubbish and food, tray stacks were full to overlowig so used trays were being left on the floor and tables. Shocking really how they could let it get in such a mess.

Very dissapointing! Waited half hour for 2 bacon baguettes to have 1 brought out cut in half and and promise of another 2 halves to follow. This branch is always slow as a main shop employee said he had same problem and cafe was only one third full Oh well Stratton branch next time

Slow service and coffee was warm not hot.

Dirty tables, not enough staff, no hot meals today something about a breakdown in the kitchen and when there is hot food it's usually served cold, the staff are always friendly and helpful but you get the feeling they are working uphill all the time, what used to be a good place to eat has gone downhill so fast since the powers that be decided to make most of the experienced stall redundant. You cannot run a ship with half a crew with no experience

It's good value food and a good quality, with lots of basic seating, we have been a few times now, service is good but slow and tables are always a mess as they run a self clear system which noone actually does.... It's great for breakfast if you want a good chat over a cup of coffee but don't expect to run in and out.

Always dirty tables and floor. Usually have a coffee after shopping on a Saturday afternoon but it's getting harder and harder to find anywhere to sit without having to clear and wash the table yourself. I think management need to review this before too many customers turn away.

The service is consistently friendly, so I am rating it highly. The food is average.
