Sainsbury's Café in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Nice friendly staff, the food is okay but a lot of the tables were left grubby with previous customers crumbs & rubbish & weren't cleaned for the whole 1hr plus that I was here. A few customers with food complaints around me & lots of kids screaming & shouting & not being controlled by their parents. Not a place to relax & enjoy the moment. I won't be returning primarily as it's more akin to a crèche. I guess It's more suited for somewhere for parents to take kids than grumpy adults like myself with old-fashioned values that consider how any noise I make affects the comfort of those relaxing around me!

Took my family today 10/02/2925 Quality food had the full breakfast, and it was well presented and taste great . Also service from staff 10/10 Keep it up 👍🏻thank you

We both had a Classic breakfast which tasted lovely and extremely good value for money at £5 each. Well presented too.

All good, friendly staff, very busy but coping well.

Quick service. Sandwich was a little bland, but hot and filling. Staff pleasant but appear rushed. Table clearance was a little slow, but thorough.

Waiting 40 minutes for a breakfast, sorry not good enough

The food, value for money and staff are all excellent. Cleanliness is a little lacking and the men's toilets are disgusting, with the wc's being unusable.

Avoid Saturday lunchtime unless you have A LOT of time to kill. Spent 20+ minutes queueing to reach the till, 8 customers in front. A further 25+ minutes at the table before food arrived. Cup of tea was long since gone. Can't really blame the staff, they were all working very hard, polite and professional. But café management ought to have signage up when you join the queue that it will take an age to get your food. The veg lasagne and salad was nice enough when it got here, though the promised salad dressing wasn't there. But slow service like that is just not good enough these days tbh. Oh... And the toilet was blocked and backed-up, the urinal doesn't drain, and the taps don't work properly. Nice way to finish off.

Thank you Sainsbury’s Cafe , best place in Truro , most places you go for coffee are closed early because of lack of staff , not enough staff serving and takes forever and for sure tables are not tidy or clean but you are always on it x great value , nice food and fabulous customer services , thank you , I’m spreading the word x

Food was good shame the restaurant was filthy woth food all over the floor

Cafe fairly empty, waited over 30 mins for 2 bowls soup and had to ask 3 times where it was. Not good

My Dad took me here for a lunch time meal as a treat, but upon arrival Hot meals weren't available.. very disappointed.. Had to settle for a Tea cake instead.. Not quite the same 😌

Not a bad place to stop and eat/drink prior to a shop. Have stopped here twice recently for food, first time tried the Lasagne and the second time the All Day Breakfast, with my Wife trying the Jacket Potato with fillings. On both occasion the food has been only warm and therefore just about edible. Shame really as the All Day Breakfast is very good and a decent value at £4.85. Also large mug of tea for £1.45 is also good value. Would of rated this Cafe higher if the food was hotter, not rocket science to provide hot food and warm plates instead of cold plates. Visited again 5 months later. All day breakfast now £5.25. Again still good value and food warmer and plates now warmed, so better experience overall hence the four stars instead of the 3 stars I originally gave.

Awful! I ordered a beef lasagne and side salad. The lasagne was a microwave disaster, rubbery and undercooked, the side salad seemed to be a bag of green leaves and nothing else. I took the meal back and ordered fish and chips. Not much better. This place has gone downhill big time.

Very Covid aware, nice and clean and polite staff.

Today I had fish and chips, would have had mushy peas but they've stopped doing them so had a choice of garden peas or beans. Chips were frozen oven chips, nothing special but the beer battered cod was awful. Soggy on the outside and overcooked and dry, brown coloured fish inside. Waste of money. I went back to buy 2 coffees and mentioned it to the assistant, she said they have got rid of the deep fat fryers so everything is oven baked, I expect mine must have been sitting in the oven for an hour or more. She said there have been quite a few complaints. Well there weren't many takers as the place was pretty much deserted at 3pm, 2 or 3 couples that's all.

Food selection and staff are not as good as before lock down

Well food always good value but service and waiting in queue time appalling - was before covid and still the same with restricted numbers when I was here

Had a fabulous all day breakfast yesterday - sausages were delicious as was the bacon - in fact all well cooked. A real treat - thank you 😃

Not bad not great, the earl grey is served in pot with a cup and saucer but the tea bag is not strong enough to brew the tea in the pot so it's just flavoured water, nice.friendly staff

Standard of the food is okay, sometimes I feel I'm a little cheated with what I order. Customer service, especially today with the girl who served me. I said good morning, she saw I said good morning and turned to talk to her colleague. BLOODY RUDE!!!

I used to like going here for meal before shopping but recently they seem to have changed the staff for people who are severely disabled. I have no issue with giving people a lift up and helping folks but some of the 'new' staff are clearly not fit to be working in public environments. My head was tapped while in the queue then the lady who was wearing a sainburys uniform lady ran off giggling. Then when our food was brought over she explained what we were eating while giggling and using raspberry noises what we had, while pointing at the food. The whole situation was fairly awkward and felt like a TV sketch rather than going for a meal. I am in no way making fun or degrading the mentally handicapped, I just dont think the staff fit the role well.

Basic breakfast reasonably priced

Always went here as used to have good choices for vegan food, went today and the menu had all changed and only vegan options were baked potato with baked beans or panini of bubble and squeak, I have a dairy allergy and in small writing on the bottom of the menu they had a statement that said if you had an allergy they recommended that you didn't eat there!! I think in this day and age this is a backward step what have you done sainsburys I for one will no longer be eating in your cafe such a shame as your store has got great sections of free from food so why not in your cafes? Come on sainsburys you can do better than this.

Good value food, but very cold and draughty in the restaurant. Air conditioning on cold in November!

Do not for the love of God eat in a Sainsburys Café, myself, my mum, my brother and my dad have all been really sick eating there, most likely from food poisoning, because we actually do know how they treat the food..

Not enough staff. Wait too long to be served. Young lady deaf, very polite, work well.

It's a supermarket cafe, nothing special.

Sausages mash and gravy, twas ok. coffee twas'nt something I'd go out of my to taste again although it seemed to contain enough caffeine. Price was reasonable

omelette ham one mushroom iv never had a omelette like that must be brought in just to warm chips not good so disappointed after an hospital appointment.

Have visited quite often as although basic food was always reasonable and we'll priced for a fry up or lunch. Last few times I've visited food cooked has been poor standard. My husband and I had the fish and chips the fish had soggy batter and the chips were hard.

Me and one other in the queue, took 5 mins to be served a cappucino. Only bonus was it was cheap and warm. Staff too busy discussing breaks to make eye-contact with customer. Poor.

Great place to meet up for a chat

Typically rather good. Busy around midday but if a nice place to stop off on the way to work for a meal. Sometimes the chips are a little bit poor but most of the time they are fine. 🙂

It's okay. Seemed to have only one member of staff that knew what they were doing. Surroundings were fine and pleasant. Coffee was okay too!

Food order didn't go through, eventually got our order after going up to counter and asking staff. Food ok, but probably not eat there next time.
