Sainsbury's Café in Eastleigh

Very little effort put into either service or presentation. 15 minutes to get a soup, which didn't come with the promised roll, and took another two requests from staff to get.

we left after 45minutes having waited for a breakfast that never came. Others around us said they had waited an hour or more for their food. It is a Shame as only two friendly staff on duty. Not enough staff on duty to expedite food quickly for people. Disappointing as it could be a nice cafe.

My son took me out to breakfast, as I had to shop for groceries we went to Sainsburys Hedge End Tollbar Way cafe. The coffee was barely warm you could call it cold. My breakfast bap with bacon egg and sausage was running in grease. It was all over my hands when I picked up the bap, it also was cold and the egg was baked. My son’s bite size breakfast with an extra egg mushrooms and toast was congealed to say the least, it also was cold, toast was leathery as if warmed and eggs baked, hash brown was soggy. My son asked for cutlery as there was only a few dirty bits of cutlery available also dirty teaspoons and was very curtly told “ We haven’t had a chance yet it’s early we still haven’t recovered from yesterday” and we had to wait for cutlery to arrive. Must add the lady that brought out the food was very pleasant if the same can’t be said for the food or the assistant serving at the counter. Come on Sainsburys you can do better than this. This very unappealing breakfast cost £15+. Wicked price for something only fit for the bin.

Excellent value and range of foods.

Thought I’d grab something quick while I’m here, got a cheese and ham toastie a soup and bottle green crisp apple £8.50!!!!! Ridiculous price, especially when the soup took so long by the time it turned up my toastie was cold, probably due to the fact the staff are too busy talking to each other and pissing about. Also the soup tasted like an ash tray.

Good service as usual. Staff are always excellent.

This is God's waiting room with average age of the punters 72, so to make them wait 20 minutes for a coffee denies them valuable time on this earth. Our fish finger sandwich looked like it had been left out in the rain for an hour, also minus fish, butter, and flavour, well done sainsburys.

A screaming child spoilt the atmosphere. I wish I knew where the square teacakes are bought in from. They are delicious but none of the staff know where they but them

Lovely all day breakfast, good value for money. Friendly staff, quick service.

Service from Sebastian was brilliant helped by Mom order an then changed her eggs with no quibble as they put pepper on top. Very helpful

Delicious lunch, friendly and helpful service. We all enjoyed the meal and happy to wait a short time for a freshly cooked meal.

Probably the worst cafe in the UK, lunchtime after being told no baguettes no vegetarian lasagne ordered all day breakfast and chips told 30 minute wait that was a joke , tray drops overflowing tables covered in customers trays and rubbish staff couldn't care less didn't really want to be there ,never again I'll go to marks next door utter rubbish .

A good place for a quick lunch/sandwich and a cuppa or coffee.

25 minutes for a bacon sandwich! Sandwich was ok . But 25 mins seriously, not overly busy. Could have bought the stuff and taken it home to cook myself quicker. Didn't see any tables wiped the whole time we were there. Probably won't bother again

The first time I came here with my son for breakfast everything was fine apart from the food didn't taste very nice. Some of it tasted fresh while other parts tasted like they'd been under a heat lamp for some time. I just thought maybe they were having a bit of an off day. I then went for lunch with my husband. The food was fresh this time but they brought out the wrong meal for me. The person bringing the food out seemed quite rude and abrupt but did look like he'd been having a bad day. My husband had just finished his lunch when mine was brought out. The food tasted okay for the price we paid but the whole dining experience had been frustrating and we both came away feeling it was not worth the price we paid. We won't be going there again.

Got turned away because it was closed, half an hour before its advertised closing time. Only wanted a hot chocolate! 😄

Nice food, fairly cheap food and reasonably nice. Could do with being abit cleaner.

25 minutes wait for food with less than 10 people seated and 3 in the queue.

Very very poor service. Waited almost a hour for any acknowledgement and ended up getting my money back very poor service do not waste your life here

Stood and the counter waiting in eyeline of three chatting members of staff before giving up and walking out. There’s no way they couldn’t see or hear me so I can only assume they couldn’t be bothered to do their job.

Advantage not being as busy at the moment so it was quiet. No hot food (breakfast and hot lunch etc) being served, assuming due to low staff numbers and reduced menu but a some warning from the staff member at the front would have been good or a sign outside before you get to the front counter and then go back through the one way

20 min queue to order ( about 5 people in front of us!), Followed by a 15 min wait for a jacket potato.... Small potato with an even smaller portion of tuna and sweetcorn!! Not as good as it used to be, won't be going back!

I quite like the café. Good selection of food and they do a great cuppa. Can get extremely busy at times. The staff are lovely.

Dont eat here! 50 minutes waiting for breakfast with two young children crying for their food. We went up twice to chase our food which they promised each time would be in 5 minutes. We got a refund in the end and went to Macdonald.

Don't come here if you haven't got a couple of hours to spare! Very slow service. 20 minute wait in the queue and and an hour to wait for 2 breakfasts! Will never come here again! Life's too short!

Not very good, my friend took there for breakfast as a birthday treat..waited ages for it to arrive and when it eventually arrived the bacon was very hard and cold so very disappointed.

New cafe still very slow service for food. New cafe nor improved. only two other couples waiting for food still had to wait half an hour for breakfast which was hardly cooked and barely warm. If they do not have a proper kitchen should not serve hot food. Won't be going again and would definitely not recommend. M&S cafe may be more expensive but at least the food is cooked and hot.

Very slow service and very dark, what are we going to do for the next few weeks, go somewhere else.

The tables need cleaning, stopped going there morning times, minimum staff, no cleaning...

One very polite, but overworked staff member (thanks Andrew). One staff member: taking food and drink orders, preparing lattes et al and running the till at Friday lunchtime. Who is running this place?

If you're expecting a quiet break, this is not the place. If you want a headache this place is BANG on! Continual smacking of the coffee portafilter and the reverberation of the tray trolley, the cafe layout seems to amplify every sound. The staff are friendly though so still 3 stars

Good place to have a lunch before shopping

Spent £4 on a drink and chips. Employee had to be informed by boss that a "chai latte" was not a coffee and when I got it it was incredibly weak. Chips took a long time to come and when they arrived, some seemed stale while others were almost raw. McDonald's is across the road - I'd go there next time.
