Sainsbury's in Derby

This is my local sainsburys store. Very convenient for shopping, however if I attend there at the end of a shopping trip at the retail park, I dread the thought of having to use the Ladies restroom. If I am really desperate and needs must, I have to ensure I have my own tissue due to the paper roll dispensers regularly being detached from the wall, with the paper roll often on the lower side near the floor. Toilets are often filthy with discarded paper etc on the floor. Hand dryer is often out off order. Why is there not a paper towel dispenser for hand drying as in other stores ? Its sickening to see wet disintegrated toilet paper on the side of the sink !!! Even chewing gum in the sink......... WHY ARE THE TOILETS NOT MAINTAINED AND CHECKED HOURLY LIKE IN OTHER SUPERMARKETS and Establishments!!! REPAIR YOUR TOILET TISSUE HOLDERS So paper is stored safely. MOP THE FLOORS REGULARLY!!! PUT A PAPER TOWEL DISPENSER ON THE WALL For hand drying AND FILL IT!!! This toilet is a potential Public Health, Public safety and Hygiene Risk. Paper tissue not stored appropriately could cause Urinary infection!!! This has been an ongoing issue at Kingsway for years.... Why ??? I now take a detour out of my way and go to another Sainsburys Store where the standards are way way higher. I can tolerate odd visits where the facilities aren't but its been EVERY TIME I've needed to use that restroom Come On Kingsway Housekeeping Management and maintenance. If I Don't feel safe and clean in your Restroom, I don't feel comfortable in your store. Ironically and socially I judge a Restaurant not just by their food and the ambience of the main eating areas, I judge it by how hygienic and maintained the restrooms are....

Coffee shop is now an Argos store, because of road works and traffic it took 2 hours to get out of the car park. I will not be going back again!

Long time closed due to lock down............now open.......awful. Shouted at to do track and trace rather than a polite invitation. Had to go back and ask for sugar, then back again to get a fork for my cake. Disinterested staff need retraining and to be reminded what being customer focused is and how to give a warm welcome back.

Visited yesterday and the customer service was so bad the women on the till was so rude and no smile the waiting times were crazy and I Defo won’t be visiting here again

Food is delicious especially the fish and chips and the bangers and mash. The staff are great. Unfortunately yesterday the tables were filthy and we struggled to find a clean one. There was food scattered on the floor which wasn't being cleaned immediately surely this should be the case as it would attract vermin! Clearly understaffed as when my mate wanted to be served there were no staff at the counter at 3pm as they were all at the back washing up. Please make it a priority to keep the floor and tables clean, not with dirty dishes on the table which I had to move. Plus where has the spicy bean burger gone?

I've been quite a few times. Often seems short staffed and food can take a while to be served. Today's visit capped by the bowl of chips I've had for ages. Well cooked, nice brown colour and hot. A welcome change from previous visits.

Called in for lunch. Was looking at lovely jackets but decided to have the salmon, potatoes and green beans. Very good choice. Staff friendly and helpful will go again

Sat here had s lovely coffee latte and bacon cob cooked lovely with my shopping at my side what lovely staff and very helpful and friendly

Having used Sainsbury’s cafe round the UK for breakfast this is definitely the worst. Grumpy faced staff food slapped down service with an attitude. Not what I expect Would not like to experience when busy only 6 tables occupied out of about 40 tables

Visited Sainsburys Kingsway for a lunch on a Saturday. We chose hot chicken baguettes with a pot of gravy, sounded lovely, only there was no hot chicken. We changed our choice to hot beef baguettes but we were told there was no hot beef. We finally went with sausauge baguettes. There seemed to be a despondency about the staff, there was certainly not a buzz to the atmosphere.I can't actually fault the food, they were lovely sausage baguettes and the latte was good, the prices are also more than fair. I don't like giving a poor review and I will visit again as generally the food is very good at a good price.

I've always been a big fan of Sainsbury's Cafe's - they've always been consistent, but this was different. The lady behind the counter was pleasant enough, but lots of little things were wrong. My roll was slightly stale (maybe been in the chiller too long), not enough to not eat it. there wasn't an awful lot of choice! The menus seemed to be a little elitist. My daughters panini didn't come until we asked what had happened to it. The place was pretty empty - so which came first the chicken or the egg? It used to be a bustling, thriving place!

Left a good review a while back but today something was a miss. Ordered the veggie breakfast and chips. Eggs were almost raw and the chips were hard as nails. Inedible meal. Toast was served buttered, soggy. Wonder if they have a different cook now?

This café has a good selection of food choices and we often use it for lunch whist visiting the store to do our weekly shop. The prices are very reasonable and the food is tasty and served quite quickly.

Decided Sainsburys Cafe would be better than sitting in traffic, not many people in so served very quickly by pleasant staff, had coffee and nibbles. We had a job finding a table that didn't have a draught coming from somewhere. The whole Cafe is dark, depressing and generally not very warm. Would not anticipate coming here again.

Went here with my 9 year old, chose sausage sandwich off the menu (it just said breakfast sandwich).. on arrival it was lukewarm and on very seeded bread! Needless to say my daughter didn't eat it. Asked the staff why is was on seeded bread and was told it was the norm. They should state this on the board! Awful attitude from staff. Never again.

Friendly staff, consistently Ok, tasty food, clean, affordable and satisfying amounts - who could aske for more!

Recommended by my Mother, so we popped in for lunch. I chose the Stilton bake. The waitress cheerily brought our food. Customer service top marks, she was chatting to customers with a smile. Shame I didn't catch her name, she was taller than the other waitresses and dark haired.

For a Sainsbury's café it was pleasant enough. Just had a coffee which was pleasant and read their newspaper whilst waiting for house sale completion. Could do a lot worse in waiting!

Well laid out and airey restaurant which is not connected to the main store. Great value breakfast which was served quickly by the friendly staff even though it was busy, good start to the day before doing some shopping.

This has all the usual Sainsbury's menu but it is large and well spaced out. The staff are very helpful too.

Called in for breakfast on the way to a funeral. Strange little cafe, outside of main store. Very dated and shabby looking, but food was ok.

Sainsbury Cafe, we go here regularly, to meet up with family and friends, and whether you want fish,chips and a cup of tea, or a large piece of carrot cake and a hot chocolate, I can highly recommend this place, for great reasonable priced food, and friendly staff.
