Sainsburys in South Derbyshire

The cafe only had 5 people in it when I arrived. No one waiting to be served. After being looked at a couple of times by a couple of girls standing in the cafe area one finally came over to take my order. My order given she said it would be bought over. The food arrived and was left at the table by a second girl who was carrying on a conversation with someone across the room. She didn’t bring any cutlery. I got up to fetch some and nearly picked up a spoon out of a container that was full of dirty utensils left next to the clean ones. I felt I was an inconvenience. However the food and coffee were good and hot. Sainsbury’s could do much better than this. Current staff more interested in their phone than customer service

Why on earth do I keep trying this disaster. Because it's convenient and I just can believe a store of this size has such a terrible cafe. This time, I mistakenly thought they can't ruin a bowl of tomato soup (no other soup choice) you pay extra for a roll and butter. Anyway a nearly empty cafe took 20 mins to bring my soup. To my dismay it was cold. I chased the staff member who quickly said she would return it hot. This happened and only had to wait 5 more minutes. The staff member was very pleasant. Anyway this excuse for a cafe is obviously not improving with time. Although I don't like giving poor reviews, this is my fourth bad review for this establishment. I should actually say that surprisingly the Tesco cafe is much better.

A lovely full-service grocery store, exceptionally well laid out. Wide and well-lit aisles and well stocked shelves with fresh produce and excellent meat and deli selections.

Stopped in for a snack one Sunday lunchtime and it too 20 mins for 2 bacon baguettes. We had finished our cups of tea before the food arrived. Perhaps they were trying to get us to buy another pot! Tables were not cleaned very quickly either. Must be short of staff. Bacon baguette was crispy and tea stayed hot.

Went here for some lunch with my mother, the queue stretched back almost to the doors; 25 minutes before we could even order anything with only 2 staff. Come on Sainsbury’s you can do better!

Called here for a coffee in the newly refurbished cafe the number of people queuing was unbelievable only one member of staff serving felt so sorry for her there needs to bemore staff serving by time I got to place my order I'd been queuing for 25 mins not acceptable

Called in here yesterday for a quick lunch. I had salmon fillet with new potatoes and salad. My husband had lasagne and salad. Both meals were hot and freshly cooked. Service was quick. Staff pleasant. Only criticism is that the floor was messy where a toddler had obviously thrown or dropped crisps on the floor. They should have been cleared up by the staff when they were clearing the tables. Other than that the food was good value and better than we’ve had at lots of pubs and cafes.

Have visited every Thursday for the last few years and have always received excellent service in a friendly clean environment. These last couple of months all the regular staff have disappeared and been replaced by men moaning and not getting orders right, no stock - cakes stands empty, pop machine broken, refrigerator cakes empty and a long list of what isn’t available. The tables aren’t cleared, the floor is dirty and th3 cashier kept wiping his nose on the back of his hand !!! The queue is generally long and slow moving and full of customers debating whether to stick it out or not bother ! Come on Sainsbury’s you can do better than this

Took 20 minutes to be served. It wasn't overly busy and they had plenty of staff on. 15 minutes for an undercooked, tasteless panini that I had to chase up, Restaurant was FILTHY and needed a paint and general brighten up. very disappointed and feel robbed. Stay at home!

There is no problem with the cafe although I wouldn’t visit again after 5 pm as the car park is an area where young people congregate to smoke cannabis. I felt very intimidated going back to my car having to walk past several car loads of boisterous young people and inhaling cannabis on my way, with a 5 month old baby!

Never seem to do the full menu after 5pm always say no hot food just doing cold snacks ‘ not good enough as you advertise the restaurant is open till 7pm very disappointing

Needed refreshments after a mornings shopping so decided on a well earned coffee. Nice big mug full of creamy coffee. Went for a refill but waited ages as at best 2 staff on, at worst only 1 doing everything. Waited a good 20 mins to get served. A lot of tables were left uncleared. Ratings for the coffee.

No, I shopped at the cheese counter today, said HELLO, HI, no response, ordered got what asked, said GOODBYE, no response. How much does it take for people in a shop to say hello or goodbye? Wow the UK is screwed

Always clean and tidy tables cleaned as they become vacant. The staff seem happy and chat with customers. Food is nice and reasonably priced. Only negative is sometimes items have run out and you have to rethink you meal choice.

Sainsbury’s cafe is very big & spacious with plenty of room between tables. Ideal stop off for new mothers and fathers with a pushchair etc. A good selection of hot & cold meals, with a wide selection of drinks too. The free WiFi is excellent which is a must these days.

Went shopping at the Swadlincote store and popped into the restaurant for a quick snack,chose a baked potato with topping.and it duly arrived,piping hot with plenty of topping and a side salad.Well presented and at a very reasonable price.

I get a good vegetable lasagne here, and for breakfast I like the porridge with fruit compote. Very popular at all times of the day.

Great store with loads of bargains to be had. Love the clothing range. Only critiscism is I tend to spend far too much! A clean and tidy store.

Good food great breakfasts and choice , dinners good to, variety hot and cold lunch , descent coffee , lift to cafe for none able to use stairs .

If you want anything from coffee to food be prepared for a long wait to get served even when not busy. Would help if they had a procedure for making a cup of coffee, and spent less time talking.

Cuando tenía Sainsbury's llegan aquí, era bastante pequeña, pero ahora es mucho más grande y mucho mejor tienda.

No ha sido por una w, pero tenía muchas ganas de un desayuno como un regalo antes de hacer mis compras. . . . . Sólo para averiguar que aparentemente era una persona o en días festivos y quede con una señora anciana intentando hacer frente a una cola a medio camino alrededor del restaurante. . . Esperar un enorme. para todo el mundo y no en el lugar de instalación por parte de la dirección de este. ¿Prevé usted No molestes más!

Great little cafe! Always a nice selection of food and cakes. Staff are so helpful. Lovely drinks and a good size too. Nicely priced. Enjoy coming here.

Me gusta comprar aquí ya que creo que la tienda está bien distribuido, tiene un montón de opciones y cumple con mis necesidades. Me gusta especialmente que existe también una sección de ropa y hogar para que pueda conseguir la mayoría de las cosas que necesitas o quieres desde un mismo lugar. He comido en el café antes también y sólo tenía cosas positivas que decir. Yo también soy un gran fan del sistema nectar puntos y ofrece que tienen disponibles. Aunque a veces otras tiendas pueden tener ciertas cosas a un precio más barato que en general siento que este es el mejor lugar para mí.

We nip in here a couple of times a month for an early morning hot drink. Good choice of drinks, hot food and cakes. Usually we have very polite and helpful service, although this morning the lady serving was a little too concerned with finishing her conversation with another member of staff as I had paid, although I was still collecting my tray of drinks and thanking the server, who did not reply. I find this quite rude!

Perfect to stop off and have a quick bite to eat even sometimes in a morning for an all day breakfast beforre getting the start of the day groceries. Staff work hard and are friendly. The prices are reasonably low and the quality of food is far better than Morrisons and the food is cooked not microwaved like some supermarket cafes do.

We often pop in for a coffee or lunch. A good range of meals available and it is possible to buy a variety of single items to make up your own lunch, such as sausages, eggs e.t.c. I particularly enjoy the omelettes. Very generous helping and cooked beautifully. Side salads that come with it are always fresh and, again, plentiful.The cream teas are particularly good value and a good variety of cakes are available. Nice to have more that just one sugar free carbonated drink available.It is also wheelchair friendly, even to access the window tables. The only draw back is that, when it is busy, the coffee making holds up the queue. It needs two people working at the counter and this doesn't always happen.Overall, a good place for coffee or lunch, with very friendly, helpful staff.

Brought my friend here from his care home for a cuppa. He likes to go to a supermarket for a look round. He enjoyed a cream tea....I had a lovely egg custard and a cuppa. He thoroughly loved it and kept commenting on the great views out the window. Friendly service and great value.

Staff helpful, polite and chatty, but always painfully slow. Average supermarket food. Very light and bright cafe in a relatively modern building.

Its great to shop at Sainsburys. you get good food honest helpful staff and a pleasant clean shopping area.

Just the place to stop and have a coffee before you shop. It really helps you stop. Relax. And when you cruise the food aisles. ..There aisles are less impulse buys! Try it!

It's nice to have a place to go and kick back if your food shop just gets a bit much.... Best to pop up before you get to the frozen aisles though.The staff are always lovely and service most often comes with a smile. The food is a little overpriced for what it is though. Although it's streets ahead of the equivalent in Tesco.It's a bit more relaxing if you can train your brain to block out the incredibly repetitive, "prepare to push your trolley off the walkway" annoyance drifting up from the travelator!

Large first floor stocking clothes, good choice for all the family at reasonable prices. Large ground floor with food department and the usual departments like home, toys, stationery. Good choices. Large car park.

We breakfast at Sainsbury's in Swadlincote as a weekly treat before work. The food is great but the service exceeds it! We are treated so well. The staff listen to any requests we may have and always comply - we always ask for very crispy bacon, and we get it! We'd be extremely disappointed to miss our weekly visit, it sets us up for a day's work! Recommended.

Called in for a big brekky with the wife and it was spot on as always.Good value for money and happy staff and lovely snap.Looking forward to calling in again soon.
