Sainsbury Cafe in South Lakeland

This place has no hot food except packed buns with bacon ect. No menu at all. Wanted a toasted tea cake for my wife they said they had supply issues so it's a no-no. Yet in the store packets of them to buy. A hopeless place that's very clean. Go to Morrisons across the road, at least they have a full menu. Just don't bother.

Called in for a lunch, the choice of food very limited, Covid issues I was told. The line to be served was long. We got fed up, so went across the road to Morrisons, great selection of food, decent service, no Covid issues there.

Chiller food selection, savoury and cake choice, minimal and unappetising. Reluctantly, opted for two toasted teackes with two coffees. Teacakes shaped rectangular & flat seemed odd! Taste and texture awful! Dense heavy texture, and off-putting yellow colour, almost paste like! Only redeeming feature sultanas and Lurpak butter! Nothing like toasted teacakes, needless to say, we left half of it, asking the lady why it was so unpalatable? She was very nice and explained that everything served must be gluten free and specially packed from an outside source......not from the shopfloor, due to fear of customers suffering allergic reaction. We understand some may suffer gluten allergy, but why is everyone else limited to gluten free food? Gluten free cakes and bread have different texture and taste! We certainly would not have chosen the teacake knowing it was gluten free! It was awful! Not tempted by the unappetising limited choice! A packet of biscuits would have been more acceptable with our coffee! Get your act together Sainsburys, if Morrisons can do it, so can you!

Mi esposo y yo visitamos la cafetería Sainsbury's para celebrar nuestro aniversario. Pasamos un tiempo maravilloso. La comida fue exquisita, tuve un croissant de chocolate y un café con leche absolutamente delicioso. Personal amable y servicio rápido. Bien hecho Sainsbury's volveremos pronto para el té de mi cumpleaños

Took forever ( 25 mins) to receive meal And counter waiting for drinks also served as ordering and cafe was less than 6 people in? The food was plush however the breakfasts swim in oil Sorry

Visited for coffee and lunch. There was bit of a queue but no more than Costa or Starbucks and the coffee is actually nicer. Ordered fish and chips twice was nice and fresh.

Called today to do the weekly shop and decided to have a bacon sandwich and a brew, waited 25minutes for the sandwich, when it arrived the bacon was cold and undercooked, severed in near stale bread, service so slow, doubt we'll eat there again.Lots of customers waiting for food to be served.

Don’t bother, queued for 20 mins to find out they hardly have any of the meals available that are on the menu.

Nightmare !!!!!!!! The service is some massacre, coffee served sloppy in a dirty cracked mug. I couldn't go to drink it, I just left the breakfast I ordered and left. Never again

Nuestra primera visita al café, y sin duda la última. Solo una chica detrás del mostrador, para tomar pedidos, hacer bebidas, dar órdenes a la cocina.Se detuvo en la cola, 2 personas en frente. Llevó años tomando el orden, preparando bebidas y yendo por más tazas de la cocina.Cuando finalmente llegamos al mostrador, nos dijeron que las papas chaqueta tenían ¡Agotado! ! ! Un letrero en la pizarra nos habría ahorrado la espera.Salimos en esa etapa y nos fuimos a otro lado.Vamos, Sainsbury tiene más personal en momentos de mucho trabajo. Todos se quejaban. No es bueno para tu reputación.

Primero tuve que esperar 50 minutos, seguí preguntando por qué la espera, con poco personal fue la respuesta. Cuando apareció nuestro "almuerzo navideño de sainsburys", estaba en comestibles excepto por el pavo en rodajas. Servido en una ensaladera grande, todo amontonado en la parte superior como un "accidente automovilístico", salsa y arándanos entregados en una taza de café. Fui al servicio al cliente. quejarse. Si el café tenía poco personal en las cocinas, reduzca el menú a bocadillos y bebidas. Para eliminar el problema temporal. No éramos los únicos clientes que se quejarían tampoco.

Mi compañero y yo fuimos a la cafetería Sainsburys hoy y nos sorprendió la cantidad de tiempo que tuvimos que esperar por una tostada de queso, especialmente porque ya estaba hecha y solo tenía que ir a la parrilla. Nos miramos y nadie más esperaba comida, ya que todo estaba en silencio. Las bebidas que tomamos estaban frías para cuando llegó y estaba sin sabor y empapado. Le pregunté a la señora por qué había tardado tanto, murmuró "no sé" y se fue. Incluso el chocolate caliente que tuve no fue agradable. El menú también era limitado y en un lugar difícil donde retendría a la gente mientras pensaba qué tener. Solíamos ir a Lancaster hace un año y fue encantador. Todas las críticas son malas, así que me pregunto por qué no están haciendo nada al respecto, no es de extrañar que sea tranquilo. No entres, no malgastes tu dinero.

Llamado para un desayuno, no estaba ocupado y la Q no era tan larga, pero parecía tomar una eternidad. Se sentó y esperó mucho tiempo por nuestra comida.El lugar estaba limpio y el personal agradable.Un poco Marie Celesteish para ser honesto, así que no podría ser el servicio muy lento.La comida está bien tocino un poco seco.

Not a lot on the menu breakfast wise. They had marmalade out but nowhere did it say they served toast to put it on. Coffees are hot and miss. A latte, cappuccino, flat white, all looked the same, milky coffee. We had drank our coffee and still waited 25 minutes for toast, a bacon baguette and a portion of chips to arrive. Chips were overdone and lukewarm. Just not enough staff and food not up to scratch. So different to Sainsbury's Heaton cafe.

We used to go to Morrison’s but not any more. What a great new store with very nice cafe and good coffee! Can get a cooked breakfast very cheap as well. Just 10/15 minutes from the caravan and camping club site. Lovely clothes section and everything laid out very well. Sainsbury’s from now on!

An early morning shopping trip would be easier if I didn’t see a sign saying cafe. Instantly distracted, we had to go for a coffee.

Exceptional slow service, never enough staff serving. Long queues even when cafe practically empty. Today I visited for a quick coffee and cake. The cappuccino was indistinguishable from latte or any other kind of coffee and my lemon cake was so dry I didn't even eat it but sent it straight back.

Have been before but only for coffee/cake. Today having read some poor reviews I was a little unsure what to expect but everything was very good. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the food was good (it's a cafe not a restaurant), came fairly quickly and was well cooked and hot. Table was cleared for us almost as soon as finishing (they do have tray deposit point for taking your own things way too). The only one issue that maybe is what causes the references in other reviews to the queues, seems to be the limited volume/speed of the coffee machine they but the girl operating that today managed to keep up fairly well. The 3 members of staff today were constantly busy and finding other jobs to do when no customers were waiting, yet dropping what they were doing to go and help if needed. Overall we had a good experience and will visit again. For £20 for 3 meals and 3 coffees the value is great too.

My husband and I had lunch in Sainsburys Cafe yesterday and it was really good. Compared with Morrisons over the road....the food is tasty and 100% better.

All I can say that this was a poor experience, very slow service, quality pretty poor. to be honest just didn't like it at all. Value pretty poor considering the service and quality. Decent access and pretty clean. Slow table clrearing

We've had a few good breakfasts here in the past but today wasn't one of our best.

Awful food burnt sausages plates swimming in oil. Workers not polite middle age women Always moaning and very rude to customers!

After an upsetting hospital trip I called at the cafe for lunch. When staff were asked why the food hadn't arrived after 25 minutes they went to check and immediately returned with my meals...which were cold as they had obviosly been sat waiting. Added to this the order was wrong and when this was mentioned the lady who had served us just said "thanks", took the tray and walked away. The cafe was virtually empty when I was there, so not even that excuse.

Visited on 26.04.2019 and ordered fish and chips for two with a cold drink and a coffee. Paid around £15. Have had the same meal there in recent past and found it to be acceptable. On this occasion, however, when it arrived after approx 30 mins wait, the food looked dried up and uninviting. Thought that it couldn't be as bad as it looked but when I started to eat it it I found that it was worse than it looked.The batter was very hard and brittle , the fish inside was tiny , brown looking and very tough to chew. The chips were hard and dry.Fish and chips are my favourite snack but on this occasion (for the first time I can remember). I left most of them, as did my friend. I should have refused to accept the meals when they arrived as they did not look up to par.

I called in here with a pal for a late lunch (about 2.30) this was our first visit to this new store, there was about four tables occupied but quite a long Q at the serving till. Service was so slow as only one member of staff but he was cheery and had a smile. It got so bad some left the Q, I ordered and to be honest our meals arrived pretty quickly which was great. My fish and chips were a lot to be desired, luke warm wrinkly chips and peas that were hard and wrinkly the fish was fine. My pal had all day big breakfast, he said his eggs were hard and leathery and the hash brown was pretty terrible (he's a chef). The staff were fine and place is new and is clean and airy but the the amount of uncleared tables was realy bad considering it was quite empty as was the store.

Excellent big breakfast to takeaway fast and efficient service considering it was a busy Sunday lunch time

Called in for breakfast and was very pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff and excellent food at good price, quick service. Would definitely go again.

First visit shortly after they opened was abysmal. Missing crockery and cutlery, uncleared tables, this mid afternoon when it was not busy and there were plenty of staff. I emailed the head office and had a reply saying it would be brought to the manager's attention.

Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Food came out promptly and all cooked perfectly. Was all very tasty, keeping in mind it's just a supermarket cafe and not a 5 star restaurant. I paid a fiver for a veggie burger and chips, it was a standard spicey bean burger that you can pick up in any supermarket frozen section. Quite tasty, came with a good amount of chips. Well worth a fiver, pubs around here would charge twice that for exactly the same thing.

Took so long to get served 2 teas and two cakes. It was only 3.30pm and they do not close until 7pm so would have expected a fair selection. I think we had a choice of 5 cakes in total. They charged incorrectly and when they tried to put through the extra items they could not even find them on the till. A complete fiasco!!! Not sure I would bother again.

2 soups took 20 mins to come and the cafe wasn’t busy at all. Staff weren’t very attentive but I understand that it’s their first month. Soup was cold when it finally came and I couldn’t eat it

For start why is menu only above counter have to join queue or lean over people seated to read and it's small. Waited 30 minutes for 2 meals in a not particularly busy cafe and when it arrived it was appalling strange smell, grey fish and tasteless peas. the amount of cold drinks available gets less in every Sainsbury's and coffee is dire.

Typical sainsbury cafe. Arrived early for lunch, paid for two fish and chips meals at counter. Twenty minutes later the waitress told us no Fish could we reorder something else. We explained we had already waited Twenty minutes to be told what the order taker should have informed us instantly. Got a refund and went to Morrisons cafe.

After a 10 hour journey, we wanted a quick break so we decided to stop at Sainsbury's.

1 hour wait to be served food not fit for a dog. After 25 minutes our order was taken again as the printer did not work (how nobody noticed no tickets were being printed in a full cafe i do not know). Another 35 minutes waiting the food arrived. DISGUSTING. Asked to speak to a manager but was too busy??? Left without eating . No manager to refund. Avoid this place until the staff are trained
