Saigon in Suffolk Coastal

Went to the Saigon again as friends were going, the first visit was terrible, this second visit was worse as the chilli beef that was nice last time is no longer on the menu. It's an expensive place to go and the food is bland and tasteless. Again we had to wait nearly 3 hours for food,leaving you time to order once before they want to empty the shop. Order your drinks 3 at a time as this is the only way around the shocking service.And try to order as many dishes as possible for the same reason. Now instead of letting you order the food you want to eat they just bring you a heap of stuff-if you have asked for something specific you may not get it because instead of serving you your order they stick it on a plate to be shared! A sure fire way to make you angry as you'll be starving after the 3 hour wait for food. The chilli beef is gone,so they no longer have that tasty dish,they cannot do curry-it is awful,the noodles are a similar sad story, and the fact they cant make curry to go with your noodles means its just a bland dish-like having a roast with no gravy. There is only 1 place to go for this sort of meal in the area and that is in Ipswich. I will just turn down the next offer to go there as it is just a frustrating,hungry,bland and disappointing night out.

Decided to book a table last minute; so glad we did as it is always full. Sharing platter to start, curries and noodles for mains. Food is excellent, service swift and friendly. Considering the quality of the food the prices are extremely reasonable. If you’re more concerned about the decor of a place than whether the food is top notch then maybe you should choose somewhere else; our experience-along with many other 5-star reviews- is that if you appreciate really tasty food then go here!

Last meal with the girls before I retire at the end of Jan. 23 and the Saigon did us proud great time and one to treasure.

This restaurant has been very nicely refurbished since my last visit and now has beautiful screens. The lazy Susan and round table made for great conversation and the ability to order and try different items on the menu. The dishes were very tasty and for £22.50 per person, you can order as many as you wish. Staff are friendly and efficient and we did not feel rushed at all. A very enjoyable experience

Went with the family including the grandchildren. Warm welcome, food was outstanding. We had starters and then main course, because we had enjoyed it so much we opted for more starters instead of a dessert. The seabass was to die for, scallops and prawns, mmmmmmmmm. The children from 2 to 10 ate everything and can't wait to go again. Service was friendly and extremely efficient. When the bill came I couldn't believe how reasonable it was. I cannot recommend Saigon highly enough. Thank you Punka

Got served twice in 2 hours, food took ages to come out, kitchen shut early with no heads up before we even finished food, Mentioned this and wasn’t offered any discount or even sorry, went home hungry still. Then rang next day to explain that I wasn’t happy with the service, to then get shouted at on the phone, told me to shut up, and hung up the phone. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, POOR SERVICE AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER !!! Do not go here! You will be disappointed ☹️

Starters great, duck is good, main course the same just different meat. Toilets Disgusting needs updating can’t even wash your hands properly because there is no way of drying them . PLACE NEEDS A UPDATE

We haven’t eaten here for a few years but the evening didn’t disappoint. A good choice of starters, a fairly small selection of main courses, however, everything is freshly cooked to order and is hot and tasty (really lovely sauces). The ‘all you can eat’ option is great value for money - we couldn’t believe the crispy duck was included, and a good portion at that. The restaurant was heaving - at least 4 big tables - and service was understandably quite slow. This actually worked well, giving us time to digest the starters. The young waiter and waitresses were polite and helpful. We will definitely return! Next time we need to once again sample the soft shelled crab and garlic scallops.

We are lucky to live close by, and have eaten here a couple of times. This place has lovely food, very tasty! Both times we have been are on the all you can eat at set price which is nice because you can try food that you wouldn't normally order. It's usually busy here, so booking is advised. The decor could do with a little sprucing but all in all you won't be disappointed. The sharing platter with shredded duck and wraps with dips is just delicious and so are the ribs!

Lovely food here not cheap but you do get to taste lots of dishes which is the way the menu is here buffet style amazing food.highly recommend

Went on a Wednesday night for a friend’s 60th birthday, table of 12. There was only 1 other table occupied. The food was delicious. I only had the Saigon platter to start as had to leave early, but the rest of the table opted for the all you can eat buffet, with lots of choices. Half way through the meal they brought out shredded duck, dipping sauce and pancakes. All freshly cooked and hot. Would recommend the spare ribs. Modest decor but flavoursome Chinese food. Only downside, is on the previous occasion we visited, we had felt pushed out when the waitress thought we had ordered enough. But, still went again and would recommend.

We were taken here vwith two of our friends we had all you can eat at a set price it was a Saturday night and although every table was taken the service was great not rushed and the food was delicious! We had two starters each, there was 4 of us lots of choices and we had ribs prawns and lots more this was placed in the middle of the table and we shared it out ,,,it was so tasty half way through the meal they brought out shredded duck with dipping sauces and wraps,,,we then picked a main course each and once again these were shared out between the four of us ,,,,this was more than enough for all four of us and great value,,,the reason for the 4 stars was the toilets need updating badly especially were food is being served and lots of customers using them,,that was my only gripe apart from that,,,,, first class food and we will probably be going their again this year ,,,thank you to all the staff Good health to all

The food here is superb.Lovely owner and lovely staff. Always look after us so well even get us a table last minute when busy. Friends when visiting Felixstowe always choose this restaurant. Delicious and fresh. M. Richards

Had another really lovely meal at Saigon with friends and family, food wonderfully fresh and tasty. Always would recommend the Salt & Chilli Aubergine. All of us really enjoyed the food, and were very well looked after!

We recently visited Saigon with some friends for the first time in ages. The food was very good and the all you can eat buffet menu was great value. Mixed hors d'oevre starters, plenty of duck pancakes, and great selection of mains. My favourites were the prawns in a really light batter and sweet and sour chicken, but everything was good and they were very amenable to the gluten free dietary requirements of two of our party.

Sorry not for me im affraid. I ordered beef curry with fried rice it tasted like Kraft cheesy pasta was also a yellowish colour. Staff pleasant enoughsorry but wont be going back. Sandra

We love to book this restaurant, great value for money the set menu all you can eat. Never disappointing, flavored food and friendly staff. Modest decor but definitely good food!

Very good family meal, good choice, good portion size, not bad on price and the service was very good.

Went in on Saturday night (we have been many times) we chose the eat what you wish option , we ordered two plates of mixed starters all.of which was delicious and beautifully served then duck and pancakes lovely. My main was beef with chilly and lime this is amazing it has a lovely hint of mint . All this totally stuffed 4 adults £100.00 brilliant value...........I will.one day get the recipe for that beef!!!!!!!

I would definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant. The food is always freshly cooked and you have the choice of choosing individual items from the menu or eat as much as you can for a set price. The food is delicious and the service is great.

We visited on Saturday and went for buffet 16.50£ pp.Starters was very small in portions so would recommend to order more.

Food was ok but slow and the management and customer service was shocking! Will be telling everyone not to waste there money there ! Came away disgusted

Great service, food always really hot and tasty, lots of choice - the mixed starter platter is amazing and love the satay chicken!

Food not bad but not great either. Small portions for a family group do suggest you order double. Also only 3 waitresses on so food service was very slow.

Good quality food, but it felt more like Chinese than Vietnamese when I visited. There were many traditional Vietnamese dishes that were not on the menu at all and the desserts were definately western style not Vietnamese

Came here with family for buffet on Christmas eve. Enjoyed the starters and duck. Kids chose more starters instead of main dishes which Saigon doesn't mind.

We visited this restaurant a month ago and to be honest it was very poor, the food was very bland no flavour and the decor needs a major makeover, it's dull and dirty outside and inside not much better, the staff could do with cheering up as they look like they do not want to be there, standards have dropped .

Nos encantó, disfrutamos de la 'todo lo que pueda comer", ya que queríamos una selección de aperitivos. Todos eran deliciosos y los platos principales estamos muy rico, aunque el huevo frito arroz era un poco de zapallo para nosotros, tenía un sabor floury.

El personal era encantador, al atender la llamada de teléfono de reserva y flexible ya que hicieron cambios en nuestra reserva original.

Así que fuimos un par de veces para visitar Saigón después de una recomendación.

La comida es increíble, el personal de sus pies apuraron, ya que era un restaurante, pero no impida el servicio de primera clase o la comida que recibimos recomendaría encarecidamente este restaurante, no ring reservé, que podría ser con antelación ya que tiene un puesto que se trata de un lugar muy popular.

Not been here for a while, and decided to have a family gathering. Opted for the set meal for all of us and it didn't disappoint. Great food, more than ample portions and good friendly service at a great price.

10 of us ate here on Sat night ! A yearly reunion of friends !Circular table which is fab when there's a group of you as you can all chat !You can go for the all you can eat buffet ! Which is not as you would expect a buffet to be as it's cooked fresh to order and you just keep ordering if you want more or from the menu !All our table went for the buffet ! There was too veggies ( me included ) and they went out of their way to cater for us !We enjoyed starters ! Followed by a massive plate of crispy duck ! Veggie dumplings for us ? Then we all,ordered from the menu ! Really good food ! Most people went on to order more food and we didn't leave much !There was a considerable amount of alcohol drunk and the bill was reasonable !Service was good and attentive !This isn't my favourite type of cuisine but I enjoyed it and everyone had a great night

We were a group of two couples. I have food allergies and struggle to find somewhere to eat. I phoned ahead and was informed to "just let the waitress know". Having heard this many times in different places and been disappointed I wasn't that confident. We arrived to find out booking wasn't confirmed but they found us a table quickly anyway. I explained to the staff again my allergies and she went off to check with the chef. Again this is something I'm used to... Also finding I have a choice of one or two dishes. She came back and listed loads of dishes I could eat. We had the all you can eat menu and each time a dish arrived she confirmed clearly whether a particular dish was suitable for me as we ordered a mix of dishes. They were attentive without being intrusive. The food itself was amazing. I had the Aubergine and sweet and sour along with potato patties noodles and rice also some beef and mushrooms. Other dishes we had on the table included a beef with chilli and lime, kung po chicken, butterfly and sweet and sour prawns, crispy chilli beef, dumplings.... It was all delicious. The plates were all empty at the end which says it all. Two also had desserts which were also lovely (albeit many of the choices were not available). This will now become my restaurant of choice in Felixstowe.

Plenty of choice on the all you can eat buffet, we had mixed platters of starters to share with a group of 11, then duck pancakes followed by our pesronal choice of mains. It was all very tasty and hot but not quite spicy enough for my tastes. Service was prompt and friendly. All in all a very enjoyable evening..

Went in a group of 10 and had a great meal: unlimited food for £16.50 a head was superb. Hard to fault and very pleasant staff...

This small restaurant serving different beautiful Asian food run by a family who make you most welcome the set buffet all you eat is cooked fresh to your order sue is most pleasant and helpful very busy weekends but open in week the food is fresh and very hot not a big menu so good well cooked food we have used Saigon for many years so if you Chinese Thai food give it a try but be patient as the food is prepared and cooked fresh

We visited as recommended by friends while on a brief break in the area and were not disappointed. Fantastic food served by friendly efficient staff. They food was tailored around the various tastes of our group.

Always welcoming,attentive staff,food yummy and excellent value on the all-you-can-eat menu,huge choice too. Never had a bad meal there. Service on the ball, just the right gap between courses.

Dined with family at Saigon for the first time. Despite the external scaffolding and the ageing facia, the restaurant has a nice welcoming feel as soon as you walk in. However, on closer inspection, you feel that the venue could do with some refurbishment. Especially the toilets, which have been allowed to deteriorate and restaurant owners should always remember that diners (especially reviewers) judge a venue on its toilets. On the big plus side, the food is very good - fresh and tasty. The 'cooked to order' element is a great way to get good value and fresh dishes throughout the night. Food service was a bit slow and the waiting staff could have been a bit friendlier, but were efficient. Overall a recommended place to eat in a town with quite a choice of Asian cuisine.

Don't be put off by the look of this place the food is lovely, especially the soft shelled crabs and very reasonably priced.

Love this restaurant. Good, authentic Vietnamese food. Their eat as much as you like buffet deal is well worth the price (approx £16pp weekdays). This deal includes starters, duck pancakes and mains (drinks and desserts are extra). You can have as many rounds of everything as you want. We thoroughly recommend asking the waiter/waitress to surprise you if you aren't fussy and can't decide what to have because we have never been disappointed yet! Thoroughly recommend.

Visited on Saturday with friends, host was able to fit us in without booking. Friendly, welcoming service, delicious piping hot food, on this occasion we tried more dishes we hadn't tried on previous visits and were not disappointed. Always good value, will return.

Have visited this restaurant many times and can definitely recommend it. The food is wonderful and cooked to order and always plenty to eat. The service and ambiance are excellent and we thoroughly enjoy evenings spent there. I can definitely recommend this restaurant.

Searching Felixstowe's main shopping street for dinner there is a little group of restaurants, a variety of the worlds cuisines! On a Saturday night this Vietnamese one only had a couple of tables still available, so we were lucky. The staff were efficient and welcoming, the décor restrained but pleasant and the tables have beautifully laundered tablecloths and napkins.The food was most enjoyable and reasonably priced, served on plates placed on heaters with table lights, to keep it warm. We had a plate of mixed starters which were tasty and interesting (spare rib, spring roll etc), then a main course (seafood with coriander and leeks, and beef in black bean sauce) each and a sticky rice between us, and felt pleasantly well fed. The little touches- my requested tap water was served with ice, hot cloths after the meal to clean our hands, and friendly waiting made the meal even more special. We will definitely return.

Its our 14 year old daughters favourite place to eat. She has been coeliac for 5 years and Sue the restaurant owner brings Lydia all her favourite dishes adapted to suit her diet. The starter sharing platter is divine and the pork with leek and corriander, delicious. We visit about every 6-8 weeks and have done for years. Highly recommend.

The table was booked for 7:30pm - It was a good job we booked as upon arrival there wasn't many empty seats. A good mixture of couples out for Valentines along with larger family/friends groups.The 4 of us in our party chose the buffet - As long as you don't waste the food this is a great way of testing items you've not had before. But really there is no chance of leaving anything as everything we had was spot on. The alcohol prices were also reasonable compared to some restaurants. Overall a good night out for both food and drinks. Highly recommended.

The best Chinese & thai restaurant in felixstowe by a mile . Excellent service food and price . Never let down .

Visited with my daughter for her birthday. Lovely meal, on a very quiet Thursday night. Good food and the staff are lovely.

Great food and lovely staff who didn't laugh at my ability to use chopsticks. Had interesting dishes and enjoyed things I wouldnt usually try. Would make sure I was hungry next time and take the all you can eat option. Worked out a main and service each would be cheaper and was the perfect amount that day. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Our visit was for our company Christmas Dinner and we had visited twice before for the same reason. Our table was well positioned and service was quick and friendly. The menu allows for a la carte or set meals and we chose a mix of both. The menu did appear to be different from our previous visit, but the set meal did not disappoint in quality or quantity. The atmosphere is good we enjoyed another great night out as a result.

This is not really a Vietnamese restaurant and if that is what you expected you could be a bit disappointed, although talking to the helpful and friendly staff I understand that they do not have enough demand for this locally. It is however a very nice place to eat. The appetizer menu is the highlight with a wide choice including quite a few interesting things you would not find in the majority of Chinese/Asian restaurants. The main courses are mostly more familiar Chinese origin but still very well cooked and presented. I am always searching for authentic restaurants in Suffolk and while this is not really like eating in Saigon it is certainly now on our list.

They offer an eat all you can menu which is all freshly cooked and when you are with a group so easy to split the bill! Lighter than Chinese and so much to choose from. They also offer the menu plus chefs specials without being inclusive. Lovely restaurant, nice ambiance and happy staff.

Both my wife and i have been here several times over a number of years, the food is good quality home made. We both went for the buffet style meal where you order all you can eat. What is good here is it is freshly cooked to order nice and hot and fresh. We both love the starters... Sweet potato patties were really good, my wife's favourite.An enjoyable evening good food in a relaxed atmosphere.

This is a lovely family run restaurant with friendly staff. There is wide choices of dishes to choose from and in the end decided to go for a buffet style between all of us. Everything was perfectly cooked and arrived piping hot. There is a good beverage list which is reasonably priced. A really good time was had by all!

Booked table for four, early, seated promptly and efficiently, menus, variety of drinks, starters arrived quickly, freshly cooked, hot, light, very tasty, generous portions, second round of starters (soooo very tasty) and some mains, pudding. Friendly service. Highly recommended.

Took our friends there Saturday 29/8/15 there 1st time & they loved it. Food cooked fresh so piping hot when received it. We tried 16 different starters & all shared. Main meal was fantastic. 3hrs of eating & chatting great night. Service was excellent. .

Visited with friends earlier this week. I had been several times in the past but this was my first visit for a few years. The food was very good - we had the buffet and ordered a wide selection of starters supplemented with crispy duck and some delicious scallops. Our hosts were regulars and that may have ensured attentive service from the owner - whatever the reason we were very well looked after.

Went for a meal with my wife to celebrate our wedding anniversary! We have been here many times before, normally with a group of friends & have always been impressed with the quality of the food, & the size of the portions! Our latest visit didn't disappoint! If anything, the food appeared even better than I remembered! The crispy Peking duck was exceptional! A fixed price of £16.95 for all you can eat! Superb value!

Brilliant yet again went as a mixed group from work none had been before but they will all def be back Food was excellent we had the starter platter 3 times ( dan ) Was cooked fresh each time as were the mains and crispy duck can't fault it at all Thank you

Went here 2 years ago, was really good. However, when we went here last week, we were very disappointed. We choose the all you can eat, as we have before. The starter menu was ok, but for mains there was a choice of curry, curry or curry. And rice not included? Very odd. Decided to have some more chicken satay on skewers, got 1 each!! Just not worth the money it costs. 2 girls were serving, one was smartly dressed, the other came straight from potwashing and was not interested at all. All in all a very disappointing evening.

Very good service and great food. A Saturday night meal out with the family and was treated to a superb meal.The restaurant was full, but the service was prompt and friendly, superb choice of food, my personal favourite was the prawns on sugar cane followed by the salted and chilli crab.Well worth a look.

First time at this restaurant but won't be the last, As previously reported a wait between courses but worth it for the freshly prepared and tasty food. Had the ''all you could eat'' menu and really good value for money,

A last minute decision to try this restaurant as the neighbouring Blue Naan was full.The food ( soft crab was gorgeous), however it was an age to wait for any food. Most people seemed to be waiting too. Also it was a 'shock' that we were not having the 'all you can eat' buffett as we ordered a la carte. Maybe it would have been quicker to have the 'buffet'.???Question; why oh why do so many Chinese/ oriental establishments have such harsh lights??? Please someone tell me. Ambience is part of the dinning experience. I do not need to see everything in harsh light, especially my wrinkles!!!!

Went in at 8 pm on a weeknight. Restaurant was quite busy but not full. It is billed as a "buffet" experience despite no actual buffet display of food and having to order in the conventional fashion from waiting staff..Did not finish main course until just after 11 pm 3 hours after we entered. Don't know about you but I don't like going to bed on a weekday night feeling like a python that has just eaten a goat. The food was just about ok although precious little evidence of authentic Vietnamese cuisine as opposed to fairly standard Chinese style staples-duck pancakes with hoisin sauce, spare ribs etc.My main gripe is that the £16 50 all you can eat buffet label seems to be a front for keeping you waiting a long long time for your food and hence selling you loads of alcohol whilst you are held captive. In the end as a couple we spent an extra £25 on drinks just because we were so bored waiting for the food.Service was ok to indifferent and ambience is pretty ordinary. I went in expecting to like the place and enjoy the experience and the food. In fact I feel that I have been treated like a cash cow under their agenda of making you wait and capitalizing on drink sales. To my mind this is unethical and basically a rip off tactic which makes me feel quite alienated and angry. Hence very poor review.

Cannot fault the food, it was very good. But there was no mood lighting, just bright full lights. The staff were not friendly and we had to keep asking for everything, no offer of service. Plus one member of staff, who was serving us food, had an old red jumper and jeans on! Considering it was not busy, we felt bad asking for more dishes. Could be lovely with the right management.

We have visited this restaurant many times and it never fails to please. Family, friends, special occasions-- or just me and hubbie--just because we know we will have a great meal with good service and friendly staff.

Recently visited Saigon Restaurant in Felixstowe with our grandchildren. The food and service was excellent. We ate relatively early so the restaurant was quiet but filled up as the evening went on.No complaints about the food at all - everything we ordered was tasty and well presented and the buffet is great value. All of it freshly cooked and brought to your table, not like some other "all you can eat" options where you help yourself from a buffet and aren't sure just how long the food has been left out. The service was professional and friendly.My only slight issue is with the ambiance of the restaurant. Perhaps more subtle lighting and background music would help? The venue is a bit stark and 'cold'. The staff are friendly but this is not reflected in the surroundings. However, don't let this put you off - the food more than makes up for the lack of atmosphere - we will go back!

I am Vietnamese and had been to this restaurant because I thought they offer authentic Vietnamese food but was very disappointed that the food was more like Chinese . I don't know why they call themselves Vietnamese restaurant and don't offer Vietnamese food , they are misleading their customers who don't know the different between Chinese to Vietnamese food. If you want to experience authentic Vietnamese food , Saigon Restaurant in Northampton offers that.

We visited this restaurant again, with a large group of friends. We always elect for the buffet, owing to the vast array of delicious starters that are on offer. Starters are followed by the obligatory crispy duck and pancakes, closely followed by the main dishes. We never get around to sampling their desserts because we are so full. This is one of those rare restaurants where we have never had a bad meal. Wine list is limited, but we primarily go there for the food.

We were well looked after during our time here. The food was excellent . We had the buffet and between three of us we has a platter to start . Followed by duck ( there was loads) and then chose our main courses . Kung po chicken . Chilli beef etc 5 main courses in total with rice and noodle . Enough for us to share . Well worth a visit and great value for money .

Lask Thursday our monthly dining club met at the Saigon Vietnamese restaurant in Felixstowe. We had great food and great service. They are not the best at marketing so you may have to be persistent to get a telephone booking but, I am confident you will enjoy the wonderful freshly cooked food with their truly amazing array of flavours.I for one will be going back again soon.

Went to Saigon's for a family meal. Had no problem in booking a table, we had very good service, had the buffet which there was a good wide selection. The food is freshly cooked and ordering extra dishes was no problem. I would recommend a visit and a meal here, which I think was good value for money. We look forward to our next visit.

We ate at this restaurant last night and had the £18.50 buffet where you choose the food that you would like and it is all freshly cooked. We had a delicious starter platter, with mussels in salt,pepper & chilli. Following this 1/2 peking duck with pancakes, and then lots of other main dishes to follow. The service was good and the staff very friendly. You do wait a little while for food but it is well worth the wait and it is nice not to be rushed in and out of a restaurant. We went in at 7.30 and came out at 10.30 pmI can thoroughly recommend this restaurant, and we will certainly be returning and also recommending it to friends and family.

Found Saigon hard to book a table due to the hours they open.when popping in found the stall to be unfriendlylooking at the menu you could see they were not offering any tasty food you would wantwhen brought to the table it was very plain,boring and flavourlessdisappointing,unbelievable prices,you can easily make tastier at home or just get a takeawaynot in a rush to return

My wife and I opted for the 'All you can eat' option on a Friday (more expensive on Fri & Sat) evening at 8pm. After selecting our first course at 8.15pm, we were served at 8.50pm with very tasty and hot (and definitely non-greasy) platter and some patties. Realising that 'all you can eat' is delayed by the cooking time, we ordered the main course immediately after the first course was delivered. The challenge was to attract the attention of a waiter, three of whom rushed busily past our table. We chose spicy egg noodles, duck with leek, chlli aubergines and Kung Po Prawns. Again, the food was cooked to order and we received the food ~9.20pm. Again very tasty and hot. Anything else was going to be even later, so my wife quit after eating what was delivered while I ordered just one item - delivered ~10pm. While I disagree with the negative reviewer, the challenge is to order all at the beginning while knowing what and how much you can eat. They will penalise you by fully charging for any dish that you leave more than 50%.

We were pleasantly surprised by this unassuming, quietly busy restaurant. Unfamiliar with Vietnamese food, we were going to play safe with a set menu, but a comment to our waitress, who turned out to be the owner, gave us the option to try a wider range of dishes for similar cost. We were impressed by the very tasty, freshly prepared dishes, especially the chicken curry and hot chilli garlic prawns.Service was a little slow at first but the atmosphere was relaxed and unhurried. We want to go back to try more, and plan to take our forthcoming visitors along to enjoy the experience.

I visited Saignon for a birthday meal on Saturday. We ate from the buffet menu which was reasonably priced and afforded us as much food as we cared to order from the menu. It excluded specials but there was still the majority of the menu to pick from. The food itself was delicious, particularly the duck and the starters. The mains were served in quite modest portions but considering you can simply order some more it's no issue and allows you to sample a wider variety. The restaurant isn't the most salubrious but staff were polite and attentive. I'd certainly recommend Saigon and I'm sure I'll return!

Good food and good service. Food came all night until we were ready to burst. The only extra I would add is a better wine selection but what they had was ok - just not very interesting. All in all though, a pleasant experience!

Heard good reviews of the Saigon, and went on a Tuesday evening with a business college. The staff were very friendly and the meal arrived in great time.Having the Spring roles to start with was a great choice, four very big and tasty roles came with a good side dip.The main course, I went for the the beef and mushrooms with a side order of egg fried rice. This was very tasty and great portions of meal and rice.Very good prices for the food and well worth a visit.

Passing by this restaurant on Hamilton Avenue in Felixstowe you could be forgiven for not taking a second look. It is not flash and blingy - it is a straight forward, honest eating house serving a good menu full of excellent dishes. The authentic cooking is done freshly for all orders.The service is very friendly and they are more than happy to spend time answering any questions you might have about the dishes. Sadly, to date, I have only been there three times but I'm looking forward to increasing that number substantially.

My boyfriend and I had a delicious dinner last night. Everything cooked to perfection with bottle of wine next to it.Staff very friendly and the restaurant is clean.Would reccomend!

Visited in the early evening - so early that it perhaps surprised the owners.We took the "fixed price for as much as you can eat option" - which seemed well-judged for those who have relatively normal appetites.....we were pretty full afterwards but probably enjoyed a discount of about 25% over the menu price and (all-in including beers) it was a perfectly reasonable cost for a decent meal.Excellent crispy duck and curries - and several of the other dishes with a Vietnamese twist.Good service. All in all it was well worthwhile - and we'll be back s bit sooner than the last time.

We had booked a table of 17 for a 30th birthday. Staff were very pleasant and turned out the lights of the whole restaurant just for our birthday cake! The food was all delicous and the staff were very helpful in the best ways to order when there was such a big table :) will definately revisit soon x

Lovely food cooked to order and served very efficiently, good quality although perhaps not the cheapest in Town. Staff always try their best to make you comfortable.

This used to be one of our favourite restaurants with good food and friendly service. We hadn't been for a year or so so were somewhat disappointed with our recent experience. I don't know if it has changed hands recently or not but in my view it has gone downhill. The welcome was somewhat indifferent and the general service made us feel that they weren't bothered whether we were there or not. No prawn crackers as an appetiser (they used to be free) and a long wait for our first course. We chose the all you can eat option and had a mixed plate to start. This was very unattractively served on a sparse bed of limp lettuce. What happened to the carved vegetables I seem to remember? The selection was poor with no prawn toast or crispy seaweed which you might expect. The next course of crispy duck and the mains were just average. The wait between courses was unacceptable and it wasn't at all busy. Not once were we asked if everything was OK and whether we wanted any further courses. It's not cheap at £19 a head for the all you can eat. I don't mind paying that for good food and service but neither were on offer on this occasion. Also, the place is distinctly grubby with thick dust on the plastic plants etc. and the toilets are very sub-standard.Such a shame as we really used to enjoy coming here. Will not be returning, that's for sure.
