What an excellent restaurant. The food was cooked fresh and made to order, so my wife wanted her dish not as spicy. They were happy to accommodate this request. The staff were friendly and pleasant. The food was excellent. On top of this the price was incredibly reasonable. We will be travelling here again. Really really impressed.

I absolutely look the food and atmosphere at Sahibs, I would probably say it's in my top 2 of local curry restaurants. I use curry and not Indian as Sahibs is Kenyan or Punjabi where my other one is Pakistani. Always a good reception, great starters to the point that we rarely get to order multiple curries. Being a fan of the heat I probably overdo the chilli but their chilli fish, chilli paneer, chill mogo and turbo nan's will warm any winter evening.

Sahibs is our go-to curry house. I’ve visited more times than I can remember. Fantastic starters and delicious curries. Highly recommended starters: chilli garlic mogo, lamb chops, chilli chicken (off the bone but with on the bone sauce) and chilli lamb. The loveliest curry on the menu that I’ve tried is the Ku Ku Kenya. The entire experience is always made better by Sunny - he is an asset to Sahibs and delivers the best customer service possible.

I just visited Sahibs for the first time for my friend's wedding dinner and as I have Coeliac's I am always nervous about eating at places I have never eaten at before but Sunny put my mind at ease, showed me that they use gluten free soy sauce for the gf options and assured me that all precautions will be taken to minimise cross contact with gluten. Food is fantastic and will defo visit again. Sunny is a true credit to Sahibs.

I've lived locally my whole life and have heard of Sahibs from friends a number of times. To start off as we walked in it looked a dindgy pub rather than an Indian restaurant (nothing like the pictures). they didn't have our name listed even though we had email confirmation of our booking. After standing for 10 mins by the door with my pregnant wife we were eventually seated. Drinks and food came out very quickly buy the food was really poor and rushed out. My 73 year old father in law told one of the waiters that the mogo was a bit bitter and undercooked and overly sweet and he just waved his hands in the air like he wasn't interested and rudely walked away so we asked for the manager from another waiter and 20 mins later the manager still had not arrived. The manager eventually walked past and I called him over and he said no one had passed the message on. We asked to the mogo to be taken off the bill as we hadn't eaten it and when the bill arrived it was still there with an extra service charge. The food was terrible, service was non existant and when we left and told the I spoke to a waiter who serverd us (on your way out) that we did not have a good experience and he looked at me blankly like he didn't care what I was saying. Possibly it was because the were understaffed but still no excuse really. Definitely not for me!

Just adding a review as I forgot to do so when I was last there. This restaurant always serves up amazing food. The menu is quite small, but that's okay as everything on the menu is so tasty. My favourite is the 'Chilli Chicken' OMG! The staff are really friendly and although sometimes it is very busy, that's what happens. I have never had a bad meal or a less than good experience and I typically visit Sahibs every 3 months or so (over the past 8 years) I would thoroughly recommend this place for dinner - 5 stars from me :)

Came here on 26th November 2019. I thought this place was going to just be a posh restaurant for people trying out the "Indian" cuisine. As I entered the first thing that came to mind was how large the place was. As I sat I was eager to look at the menu to check if it was overly priced junk or alright. Most items were reasonably priced and some were incredibly cheap such as the popodums. In most restaurants it is £1,20 per popodum but here it was £1 per plate. The service was incredibly good and the waiters were checking on us regularly but not to the point that it became annoying. The food was decent but in my opinion they did add a bit too much lemon to some of the dishes and they should have marinated the paneer and prawns in the curry for longer. Other than that the food was good. They werent giving us a ridiculous price and stupidly big or small portions. It was just right. Lamb chops were big and very tasty, masala was very good. I dont think this place is very baby, toddler friendly but is good for adults. Id reccomend this place to anyone looking for good food.

We've been here many a time and the food always hits the mark. I have yet to find a dish here that I don't like - for both the veg and meat dishes (starters and mains). As I type this I realised I still haven't made it to desserts! The service can be a bit of a mixed bag, as the main waiters knows us ordering and receiving our food is usually decent. But, sometimes be prepared for your food to be slapped on the table and a rushed announcement of what it is.That aside the food is always really good whether it be eating in or taking away. The pool table is great entertainment for the kids whilst waiting for food.

I went here with my cousins and friends for a birthday meal. After the meal, we tried to pay by card. The card machines didn't seem to work and we waited for approx 30 mins to try and pay, retrying the card machine around 10 to 12 times. We found out it was their server that had gone down. We had some cash but not all, so the management asked us to go get cash out from across the street. We obliged but the cash machine was out of service. At this point, the difference remaining was 10 pound but despite spending soo long trying to pay, the manager asked my cousin to prove the machine was not working and made him walk further to get money. After all this, he still argued that we have to pay the 5 pound in service charge!!! As we obviously refused, he escorted us out by shouting at us!!! Unbelievable. He didn't apologise for the inconvenience but instead kicked us out... Don't give your money to such a greedy business.

If you enjoy large portion sizes with the option to take half (applies to starters only) then that’s one good thing here. In terms of quality not great. Didn’t feel like anything was freshly prepared. The chicken was rubbery and dry, clearly not the greatest quality. It was well flavoured though. Masala mogo was done in tamarind sauce so again not much flavour at all. I don’t think I’ll be going again. Staff was friendly

The food at Sahibs is great. Well the starters are anyway...since you have to have the patience of a saint in order to actually ever receive a main course. The service is truly awful, it has been very slow on a recent occasion but i thought that was a one off - it clearly isn’t. This is such a shame as the food has a great reputation, but there seems to be a reluctance to invest in some waiting staff or ability to retain them...and it will probably end up in many more reviews like mine.

I told them I’d booked in advance and showed them my booking in their bookings book...but they just shrugged and said they didn’t have any tables available. I was told I could wait but they couldn’t tell me how long. I found out there were 2 other parties whose tables had also been given away. This is an awful way to treat customers !!!! Went with some lads from work but would be happy to take the mrs as it provides a good curry and drinks. The flavours were good but it loses a star as we did start to feel all the flavours merging into one despite ordering varied dishes. Maybe we made poor choices? Prices are average, not cheap. We went there as a family on Saturday evening. It was a. Ice enough atmosphere, the kind you would expect from a family pub converted into a restaurant. Staff were generally friendly too. The food was decent, I think we enjoyed the starters more then the mains. The deserts were served cold and we had to ask for them to be heated which was the only negative in terms of food and service. The price however was a lot more then we expected. As a family we eat out often enough and depending on where we eat the average price ranges from £80 to £120 (sometime more if we drink more but on nights we only have a drink or 2 each that is the normal price). Our bill came in at over £170, which weren't expecting.Overall nice enormously gah venue and food, but your pricing has put me off returning anytime soon.

What can i say, I called the manager over to advised that 2 teenagers in our party have allergies to Nuts. They acknowledged this, and when the OWNER (guy with the beard) came to take our mains order, he failed to advise that the Chicken Tikka Massla contained ground Cashew nuts. One of the 2 girls had already taken a mouthful and was rushed to hospital, only for the OWNER to tell me off that i hadn't advised them that the kids have allergies. He shirked all responsibility, showed no concern for the kid having an anaphylactic shock and kept on telling me it's my fault!! I called over the manager and asked him to confirm i had indeed mentioned the allergies, only for them to say YES I HAD, but i need to mention them to ALL STAFF and that they have NO PROCESS to manage people with special dietary requirements. What an awful experience and whats worse, the staff and owner were more concerned about blaming me, didn't apologize or ask how the person who was ill was. There have been a few things that have let the experience down, for example, stating that certain food is available, only for you to order it and be told that it's no longer available. For me personally, I feel that it is a little too spicy, it that is just personal preference. My partner loves heat and tells me it's very good so that counts for something. Overall, a good Indian restaurant.

Sahib's is one of the best North Indian restaurants we know. We go there since more than 10 years and it got even a lot better and consistent since Surinder took it over many years ago. The food is reliable, home cooked style. In fact, since we work long hours, almost 24*7, we use it often instead of cooking ourselves because we know it is so good and reliable - and my wife is Indian, is a great cook herself and comes from a Gujarati family where all the women are amazing cooks, so the standards are high!Frankly, it is much better than a number of expensive, fancy Indians we know in the West End. The owners and staff are super friendly and helpfull. If you go several times, they will remember alll your little preferences and make a point of giving a personal service. In our case, often we do not even have say anything and all the usual drinks and food we like, with all the little custom details like extra lettuce, thin and crispy naan, fresh green chillies, etc alll arrive at our table all by themselves. In fact, as we walk in, the chefs notice and already start preparing our food. They do not just do this for us! This is the hallmark of a well-run place coupled with great chefs, with no attitude problem, happy to serve. We are veggies and go to Indian restaurants alll over the world. We have our favourite places in all the big cities across the world as because of our work, we live our lives on a plane. But we wish there were more places like this across the world.

For guaranteed good food, Sahib's is the place. We were originally put off by it's blacked out windows and 'members club' sign above the door but it's the best Indian food we've ever had. Always a great meal and always great staff.

Was left waiting forever for food and after several reminders we didn't even get our drinks at all. The waiters and waitresses just shrug their shoulders when we reminded them that we were still waiting. Even a simple request for a jug of water they couldn't carry out despite us asking all evening. Spicy indian food without any drinks! The opposite end of the spectrum to the customer is always right, avoid going there unless you bring your own food in. Needless to say after previously being regular customers we won't be back.

We often go to Sahibs and I must admit we always regret it. The service has gotten worse over time. Staff taking plates away while some of us are still eating and whilst there's still food/dishes left on our table. On one occasion we had to tell the waitress we weren't finished and she had to provide another clean plate for one of our group. The staff and owners generally just don't care. It's a shame as it takes more than food to make a restaurant.

Toilets could be a bit cleaner but apart from that solid service and great food. One thing they should have is maybe something on the menu which would point out dishes that would be appropriate for kids.

I've been to this restaurant now twice in the last 6 years on 2 separate visits to London. The food here is of a solid quality, decent service and atmosphere. Make sure to make a reservation on busy nights/weekends and try to get the booth near the aquarium, great if you have kids. On this occasion we ordered three very good appetizers; the Maree Aloo (spicy potato in crushed pepper), always faithful Chili Paneer and Chili Mushrooms. Dinner items were also good with great drinks and service. The atmosphere was lively and pleasant especially for families. I'll probably go back to the UK in another 3-4 years and if this place is still around I'm sure we'll make time for a meal.

Looks like a gentlemen's club from the outside with blacked out windows but on the inside is my favourite Indian restaurant. Great food, good atmosphere with Bollywood music videos playing on the big screen. Too many good dishes on the menu to choose from.

Dined at Sahib's based on a friend's recommendation. I was unsure initially as the front of the restaurant had black out windows and had a sign stating Sahib's gentleman's club. That was rather confusing and intimidating.First thing to say is that there are plenty of locals dining in it. So that's a good sign for authenticity. We dined on a Friday night and we were lucky that I reserved a table. The restaurant gets really pack by 8pm. There was plenty of variety for vegetarians and meat lovers alike. We ordered the mix grill to start and it was delicious. The lamb biryani was also yummy and so is the garlic naan. We ordered a lamb karahi and that was also delicious. Would definitely recommend if you want authentic Asian food. Good portions and good value for money.

Had some lunch with the Mrs and friends at this restaurant. The salted lassi was really good, nice and chilled. The starters I had was chicken shish kebab which was good. The fish special wasn't that great, it looked so oily with a sea of orange liquid, that I couldn't tell whether it was fish or cooked paneer. The simple naan and lamb biriyani was good, but I certainly wouldn't call the food in the restaurant as special, but then again it wasn't too bad. It's not the place I would come again to eat. Customer service was good nonetheless.

An outstanding meal with good friends to say farewell. We had the mixed grill starter that was totally amazing, the lamb chops were to die for. Chicken and fish and lamb that came with it were also of a very high standard - it set the bar for the main, and we were not disappointed! We will definitely be returning - and soon!

Have been eating here for many years now Once upon a time this was the place Lately I've noticed the food still has good moments but the service has gone faded q.badlyTakes a while to even get a servers attention and when you do he is clearly rushed of his feet Also we sent a dish back for the first time because it was cold and didn't taste fresh at allPerhaps the downhill slant has begun for Sahibs ?

We have frequented this restaurant for a number of years and sometimes come as a family of four or six and service is always friendly with a homely feel, not pushy or overbearing. The mains in the food is with out exception always spot on in terms of flavour and taste. We usually book but I think you can get a table if you are prepared to wait a while except on busy days or if a big sport match is on eg England / India cricket. Still you can always get a take away. The food is Punjabi style which suits our palate it seems very fresh and always gives a great taste but not too chilly that might cause burning or upset stomach , this I find is the case in most other Indian eating places around town.We have had a works do with 12 people everyone commented on the tasty food some had never eaten here before and also there is a room at the back for bigger private parties . On many occasions we have a take away and once again it is always as expected and as requested tasty to our liking medium spicy and always a treat. We order from these items for mainsBhangan ( aubergine )Tara daal orBlack daalBhindi Allo ghobiButter chickenMethi Chicken Saag / planner/alloAlso sometimes afghani chicken wetNann / garlic nannPlain riceAll items are how you might expect to be home cooked so I can only say the chefs are properly trained and very able to prepare fab food.I would recommend without hesitation you will not be disappointed .Sahibs is the best proper Indian restaurant this side of London .Price wise take always are about £40 that serves 4 with enough over for lunch the next day for 1 or 2 family members.Eat in is about 15 -£20 per head depending on if you have starters and drinks etc.Super value you won't beat this place.

Nice friendly staff and good service. Great variety of food and generous portion sizes. Some of the fish dishes are really tasty especially the chilli fish. My only criticism is that the menu needs to be updated as some of the dishes are no longer served and a takeaway menu would be useful. Good idea to book first as its always busy at weekends. Highly recommended!!

This is a Kenyan Indian restaurant the food is good especially the amratsi fish it is all decent food the service is good and it shows sports. It has been a around ten years and has a good beg and non-veg menu. It is always full but at weekends it's worth booking. The food is well cooked and prepare and a favourite of the Indian community. I've been going 5 years now and it's sublime food. A little on the price side but well worth it. Lovely exquisite food and a good varied menu a must for spice lovers. Well worth a visit and the cost, you'll go back again I promise!!!!!!!

Beverages are very expensive. Food is reasonable priced. Tried the butter chicken and tandoori roti and it was amazing on that particular day.

Had our NYE meal at the Maharaja having not visited for some time. The restaurant is under new management now. The food was excellent and plentiful, whilst the service was great. A number of ‘on the house’ extras really made a difference and enhanced the experience for us. Would definitely recommend a visit to the Maharaja!!
