Been visiting here regularly over last 2 years, never had any issues. Went today and there was a new girl working there who was extremely rude, looked hungover and complete lack of customer service. Regular customer now gone. Had to walk off as she was so rude.

Came here whilst on holiday in Cardiff. I fancied a sandwich and had seen this stall the previous day so wanted to come for some food. Best toasted sandwich I have ever had. I tried a Cubano and it was packed with filling, lovely and hot and really tasty. I wish there was somewhere this good back home.

This was my first visit to Cardiff, there were plenty of food stalls to choose from, but when I saw the queue at Sage Deli I knew it would be good. I had a Californian soughdour toastie, it was fresh and very tasty and I thought it was a reasonable price. It was well worth the wait. They do have some seats, but I went upstairs to the balcony, where there was plenty of seating.

Purchased two ham rolls (£9 so double the price of all other vendors in the same indoor market). First roll was thrown together quickly but I guess they were busy. Watched in horror as the second roll was being made: she “pulled” the gammon ham apart by hand just after wiping her forehead; she should have either used the proper tools or at the very least washed her hands first or used single-use gloves. Having already paid and been sent to the end of a line to await collection, I couldn’t face a confrontation about it. I did, however, risk taking a bite of the first roll that she used tongs to pick up the ham. The ham was tough and fatty. The roll was one of the cheap, mass-produced variety. I asked for butter but she put in caterers’ margarine. The stuffing (again cheap and bland) was not mixed together properly. After one bite, both went in the bin and I certainly won’t be going there again! Ychafi 🤮

Once again, blown away with my salad box. Currently eating it and had to leave a review. Wonderful staff, wonderful food, wonderful location and very reasonable prices. This is why every visit to Cardiff means a trip to here. Well done guys, your brilliant! Jen

Delicious! Probably the busiest stall in the market when we visited (which is always a good sign). We both had pulled pork wraps which were delicious and crammed full. To be honest I think we could have shared one as we intended to go and buy Welsh cakes after but were too full. Takeaway or got a few stools and a bar to sit up (alternatively head upstairs and there’s quite a bit of seating - plus sockets to charge your phone if needed). Staff were really friendly.

My husband and myself were looking for a lunch that would be fairly quick and healthy. We didn't need to look any further that The Sage Deli in the market. I had a salad, which was delicious and my husband had a pulled pork wrap. Both come well recommended.

We spotted the deli on our first trip to the market and thought we’d pop back if we were in the area. Really pleased we did as the food and service were fabulous. My husband had a pulled pork roll with stuffing and apple sauce whilst I had a Californian toasted sour dough sandwich. These were meant to be snacks but to be honest it was all we needed for the rest of the day (and the rugby match in the evening!!) The girls who served us were delightful and it’s a great place to watch the world go by. Great food, good prices, friendly service…..try it!

We were looking for something fast and healthy to take for a quick picnic while out exploring. We came across Sage Deli while walking through Cardiff's central market. I was drawn in by the fresh salads and a lady at the counter eating soup. It was a chilly day. The soup of the day was delicious, a large fresh chunk of bread and butter came with it. The salad that I ordered to go was fresh and tasty, though a bit strong with mustard seed(?), not sure what exactly, but it was borderline overpowering. Service was friendly.

During a trip to Cardiff, raking up memories from the last 50 years,we took a trip into Cardiff market. We came across Sage Deli, big queues, thought this must be good!We were not disappointed.Lots of people go for a takeaway lunch, but there are a few seats for you to eat at the counter. We were lucky enough to be able to sit.We ordered two wraps, one main ingredient, either vegetarian or meat or cheese and three salad toppings are included in the price, extras can be added and charged. The salads are all very fresh, and constantly being replenished. The staff are extremely friendly and Will toast the wrap if desired.Wonderful taste and great value for a quick lunch. So good returned two days later.

A booking for 4 had been made following our visit to take the 'Pobol y Cwm ' set tour. We were greeted on our arrival snd taken to our table. We were given time to peruse the menu and ordered a bottle of delicious house wine. We all gave our choices from the menu and we were waited on and looked after very well. The food was delicious and will definitely return.

I recently visited this café which not only served a variety of breakfast and brunch options but also offered what I can confidently say was the best coffee I had during my time in Cardiff. I opted for a black Americano, but it was clear they took their coffee seriously, with an evident dedication to quality that shone through in every sip. The beans were expertly brewed, resulting in a rich, well-balanced flavour profile that highlighted the nuances of the coffee without being overshadowed by bitterness. It’s refreshing to find a place that genuinely cares about the craft of coffee-making. The atmosphere of the café complemented the experience beautifully. With its vintage chairs, wall-mounted artwork that added an artistic touch, and an overall relaxed décor, the space had a distinct hipster vibe that made it inviting. It’s the perfect setting for enjoying a good coffee, whether you’re looking to engage in conversation with friends or simply unwind with a book. If you’re in Cardiff and searching for a place that values quality coffee in a charming environment, this café is definitely worth a visit.
