Amazing food, the meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned, but the cheesecake was life changing - honestly would come again just for that. Great portion size for all the dishes. The staff were lovely too, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Really just walked in from the street on the weekend, the place nearly empty but lucky for us, right. The food very good, we really enjoyed it. They have a vast list of wines to select from. Tried few reds and whites. All in all the place is recommended.

Food is good despite one of the things I went for not being available. They imply they have something special on their socials but I have had much better steaks. Steak good but nothing out of the ordinary considering the hefty price tag. What really let them down was service. Completely un-attentive. Took ages to clear plates, had to ask twice for toothpicks. Had to ask twice where drinks were and then only one was delivered. Because I asked twice for my one glass of wine they tried to charge me for 2 glasses!! Not only that they blamed me for not checking the bill properly as there was only one glass on there and assumed I was trying to get away without paying for a second. The minute I told the to remove service charge from the bill (because it was so bad) their attitude got even worse. Would never go there again. Just short of £200 for 2 people did not equal a good experience.

Was missing Galician steak and found this restaurant online. It sure did not disappoint - there is not a wide ranges of steak but just exactly what I was looking for and in varying size depends on appetite and number of people. They also offer butcher service but at the same price so would suggest to eat in, steak is charcoal grilled to perfection.

There is steak, and there is steak!!! Sagardi does steak different. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite, every chew. The meat is beautiful done and juicy. A bit pricey, but hey, good food and good ambience is not cheap 😉 Sagardi is niche 👌🏽 Think I need to go back for their seafood offerings too

Very disappointing, this was a Mother’s Day treat and the food was cold, oily and fatty. When we mentioned this to the staff they did not do anything and charged full price, which was very expensive. The food seems microwaved, the pictures look better than the taste. We specifically had the Sunday roast and the Yorkshire pudding came full of oil and not risen. The potatoes were cold and the meat was very fatty.

Great food, we regularly take clients to Sagardi. I'd highly recommend a few tapas plates to start, followed by Monk Fish, with mash and salad to share as the first course, followed by the Steak, peppers and potatoes. Its a feast but I promise you will walk out satisfied. The basque cheesecake is next level as well. We highly recommend Sagardi to anyone, maybe not for the vegans though, but they do vegetarian options for sure.

Amazing Basque cuisine. We ordered grilled Turbot, salted cod omelette and a few other small plates. They were all delish. The only complaint I have about that place is that the front door was hard to open!

This was my first visit to them, for valentines day. Its an intoxicating place, the smell of the food was mouthwatering. We had a big table for just us, which is so nice for more intimate dining. Had no idea about how to order so we were handheld through it. Ordered a 1kg steak....she said we should order more but we though we knew better. She was right! The steak was amazing, and we should have gone for a 1.2 or 1.4kg due to the bone weight. Drinks were great. Sides lovely. Said thank you to the staff and the chefs, which I hope they appreciated. A great find. Would highly recommend.

Amazing 1st time dinning experience at Sagardi’s in Shoreditch. The steak was amazing, one of the best I have ever eaten and the pork ribs were also delicious. The black pudding / sausage is a must to have as a starter. A HUGE selection of wines which range from relatively inexpensive to very expensive, the one we selected (a red) was delicious . Service was very friendly and attentive. A definite one to try if you like your meat (they do also do fish) and it’s a really nice setting/location.

Wonderful experience and great food! Perfect for a celebration dinner. Make sure you save room for dessert. Would come again!

The place was very interesting, although it was crowded, it was quiet, the ambience was very good. They helped us choose very nice drinks including wines and cider. The meat was the most delicious we have ever eaten and it was cooked exactly as we wanted. The salami, grilled artichokes and salads were delicious. The vegetarian among us was equally happy. We had an explosion of melt-in-your-mouth flavors. Thank you very much. We will definitely go again when we go to London again.

Indifferent food in odd portion sizes, inconsistent service, felt too much like a chain for the price point they are aiming at. Now I know why I was able to get a table for 4 there at short notice on a Saturday.

We had a nice night at Sagradi but feels like they are working out some kinks. The hostess at the front desk clearly has no customer service experience. We had a booking on open table which I had booked weeks in advance. She made me look it up on my phone and then proceeded to tell me that open table doesn’t work and that she can “squeeze me in” even though restaurant is 75% empty. The steak was excellent and the sides were also tasty but overall it just felt expensive and just nice. We weren’t blown away. I think if the prices were adjusted and service improved then it could be a really great experience as the concept is really cool and the food is tasty.

Unfortunately I should have listened to the other reviews when it comes to the service. Didn't receive a food menu for 30 minutes and then despite asking twice noone came to take my order in over an hour at which point I left. Food might have been nice but probably glad I saved my money given the price and that service.

Awesome evening all round , drinks starting with lemon drop martinis and followed by great wine. Excellent steak and the fish was so good, highly recommended.

Sagardi, where the steaks are so good, even the cows would come back for seconds if they could! The dry-aged steak was like a flavour explosion – so salty, it made the Dead Sea jealous. The char-grilled peppers were so smoky, they could have auditioned for a BBQ commercial. The gratin was creamy and sexy, making me question my relationship with potatoes. And the mashed potatoes? They were like fluffy clouds sent from carb heaven. If I had to describe the experience in one word, it would be 'meat-licious.' Just be warned: after dining here, your taste buds might start planning their next visit on their own!

I’d give this 3.5 if I could overall. The place was overall not bad, we were there on a Saturday so it got busy but the service was very friendly and our waiters were very knowledgable and helped us pick the meat. The steak was good but the sides were underwhelming. If I compare to other steak restaurants it just wasn’t anything incredible, been to better places at better or similar price point. Desserts were good, very big portions so we didn’t need 1 each! Overall ok, good steak but for the price point I would expected something a little better alongside.

As a massive steak fan, I've traveled Europe and Africa etc to find good steaks, the meat hers is absolutely delicious. Can't fault this place. Definitely try it if you get a chance.

Went as a walk in with a couple of friends. 3 had steak and I had oxtail (mainly because I knew the price of that). We asked what the rough price would be for the steak chosen and was told it would be approx 300g per person, which would equate to £40 each. I assumed it would be a bit more, but was surprised to see that it cost £250 when the bill arrived. Double what we were told. Overall the meal cost over £500 for 1 course with a few (small) sides. Felt super expensive. Most of the items on their menu are charged by weight so you don't have many options if you want to have some certainty over the bill. Not sure what your options are when the price is so much more than you were told, but you have already eaten at that point! Won't be back, nor recommending to friend.

Delicious steak but given the price you would expect it to be. The two sides we tried (Mash and Greens) were small and not hugely exciting. Wine was fairly priced and a very good selection. There is a slightly hollow atmosphere entering the restaurant. No doubt that would be better on a much busier night. Service does requires improvement. Our waitress was clearly the most experienced and had knowledge of the food and wine. However some other staff struggled with even the simplest of requests. All charming and clearly doing their best to be helpful but you do just get the sense they could do with more training.

The restaurant turned out to be a complete letdown. Despite an impressive wine list, beautiful surroundings, and somewhat pleasant servers, the culinary experience was the most disappointing I’ve had in London. The sharing steak was disappointingly cold and chewy, the starters were small and unexciting, and the accompanying sides were notably amateurish. Paying £400 for three people and leaving hungry was far from what I expected, especially on my partner’s birthday. Overall, it fell short of our anticipations.

The food was average at best, the portion size for three people was terrible, and service was very slow with not all items coming out at the correct time.

* Update, went back here for a 2nd time last week and was seriously disappointed. The tortilla de bacalao was a travesty. More revuleto with caramelised onions... I struggled to find any bacalao in the thing. Poor for £15. Basque sideria cooking isn't like this. Txuleton was good but £120. One of the 2 tiny sides was some chard cut with what tasted like boursin cheese. Really guys, you take an ingredient like chard and turn it into a cloying, sickly thing. Mash potato was OK. Had a bottle of Bierzo £50+ Service was friendly but hassled. I know it's christmas season so can't be to harsh. £250 p.s. The peppers were very nice! 3 years ago below Good, but there are issues... First the wine lists. Nothing under £30 and this is a problem because the wines ordered (and enjoyed) a Pruno and a Sierra de Cantabria retail for about €9/10... The Luis Cañas reserva is over £60... I can buy at home for €11/12. Secondly, the piquillo peppers and potato wedges were both a disappointment. The first on quantity, the second on taste. I'd have preferred some sauteed potatoes. The txuleton was excellent. We ordered the less pricey Vaca at £70 per kilo. I really liked the way the meat was butchered, presented and cooked. Also a special mention for the Jamon, not cheap at £26/28 but it was very good along with their sourdough. For dessert the Goxua was a delight. Service very good.

One of my favorite London meals. Had a steak which was delicious, paired with the red peppers was fantastic. Cider and wine pairings were excellent and the service was fantastic. Couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience.

We hosted our corporate Christmas party at Sagardi this year and couldn't have been happier. The food was incredible, the atmosphere unbeatable and the service so attentive and accommodating. Definitely recommend hosting a corporate event here to anyone!

I was really enticed to come here for Sunday roast because of the feel from the website. Basque country chefs, family, bringing people together through food, warm vibe. But when we got there I didn't really feel that energy from the staff. The moment we walked in the host at the front seemed incredibly upset/depressed (perhaps she was having a bad day). The decor of the restaurant has a family feel. I just wish that the servers connected more, and potentially gave us little introduction of restaurant ethos, a simple "have you been here before/is this your first time here" would really add to the experience. I don't drink wine, but they have an extensive wine menu (I'd say catalogue because there is A LOT), so highly recommended for wine drinkers. The Sunday roast menu was simple with only one option, which works for me as I always get beef. If you're looking for something else, the a la carte menu has a variety of options. The food was spectacular, full of flavour and gave an amazing glimpse of Basque cuisine. The cut of beef was fatty and tender, the trimmings were delicious. For the food alone, I will certainly be returning to try the a la carte menu. My recommendation to the restaurant is to think about the service experience more. It could be an off day for staff, but at the price point, with quality of food, I don't think you can afford to have mediocre service on any day of the week. Hope to write a positive update on the future for my next visit.

This is a good restaurant with good food, but the prices are simply unrealistic. A lunch for two should not cost £216. Food is charged per hundred grams and you are not told the weight before you agreed to buy - so when you receive the bill, it is a shock. I asked for a glass of red wine. It came to £17. More information is needed. If prices like this going to be charged for lunch.

5/5 - Brilliant Roast Dinner on Sunday

As a Basque person, I am hugely disappointed with Sagardi Shoreditch and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!! I remember the great experience I had in 2017 at this restaurant. However, with my recent visit I can see that they have completly changed and they've lost their customer focused touch making the dining experience very poor. My main dissapointment lies in the lack of transparent communication. We were 4 people and I told the waiter we were not that hungry. We ordered 8 dishes/starters and we were pretty full after that. The waiter insisted on us ordering two txuletones, as they were "small" , downplaying its size and cost, and not communicating the weight or price which was over 200 pounds on meat. This felt highly misleading. He was very cheeky and the amount of meat was indeed too much for us at that stage and we left with a take away bag for the meat which is a disgrace at that price tag. While the food quality was ok, it didn't live up to the standard set during my previous visit. Additionally, the pressure tactics during the payment process, especially when the Revolut payment wasn't working, felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. Overall, the restaurant seems to have lost the charm and customer-centric approach that once made it a standout choice. For those seeking a genuine Basque culinary experience, I would recommend exploring alternative dining options that prioritize both quality and customer satisfaction. Sabor is a much nicer restaurant. Sagardi una decepción tremenda!!!!!

Fabulous wine list let down by a very average menu and average steak. I was very excited to try this but the food was a let down. The steak wasn't anything to shout about and all the nibbles (we went for the tasting) were nowhere near the quality I'd expect for a place like that. That being said it was reasonable value for the amount of food you got.

The food is incredible here, great selection of drinks, excellent staff and beautiful decoration, only thing I could say negative is a bit expensive, but almost like everywhere in London.

Outrageously good food and outstanding staff. I dropped in on my own during a business trip and was delighted by the duck breast and the wine the waiter chose for me. Excellent.

Really liked the rustic decor in here. The steak was beautifully cooked, the croquettes can't be missed, and as much as you'll want everything off of the menu, save yourself for dessert too. We went for the cheesecake and the chocolate, and both were absolutely perfect. The extensive wine list compliments the food so well so make sure you grab a bottle!

Entering the restaurant, you're hit by displays of butchered meat, which I don't find particularly inviting. The menu is varied and interesting, and the food was indeed very tasty, but the service, although friendly, was a bit overbearing. Actually had to ask them to back off a little as they were constantly topping up drinks and replacing napkins. It got annoying. Prices are on the high side considering the very small portions. Unable to recommend.

Overpriced, small portions, average flavour and bad attitude, the only positive was the decor. A group of 11 of us went to dinner for a birthday celebration, we spent a lot of money and it was disappointing. The food was very overpriced for the quality and quantity, for example we had 4 or 5 bitesized slices of steak each for about £42pp and each slice was one third fat - I've had better quality and a larger amount for less money at multiple other places in London so I definitely wouldn't recommend going here for steak. The steak pictured below was split between 5 people and cost us around £210 altogether as that was the size that was recommended to us to have alongside a portion of ribs each - most of it is fat and there were maybe 4 good pieces that aren't tiny and don't have any fat at all in the top right. The top left quarter of the photo was pretty much 100% fat and inedible. They didn't explain the steak very well because if I knew it'd be 30% fat I wouldn't have got it. The ribs tasted OK but the portion was very small. The oysters were great but you can't really go wrong with them. We couldn't get anyone's attention for over ten minutes despite the restaurant being half empty, the waiters forgot multiple dishes (a starter and two sides) and when asked it took another fifteen minutes to bring out by that point we had finished our food. A group of us got steak and we wanted it cooked different and they said they could bring it out medium rare and then cook some pieces more but when they brought it over they disappeared and we had to look around for someone to cook some of the pieces to medium which took a while even though they knew that's what we wanted to do. When one of us asked if they had any sauce for the wedges they gave us a dirty look and said they didn't have any sauce. When we asked if they do a birthday treat for our friend they condescendingly said "oh so you're not getting desserts?". They constantly spoke to us as if we couldn't afford to eat there. They had a bad attitude at almost every point during our meal and when calculating the bill they didn't add our payments up properly saying we had £300 extra to pay when we didn't and they didn't take off the deposit at the end of the meal which we had to push for. It's safe to say we refused to pay service charge which they didn't even question, they must get that a lot, although we always round up our amounts to pay so accidentally tipped them £20.

Finally back after a year of lockdown and still my favorite steak place in London. Their Basque style has a unique taste you just don’t get from other steakhouses. The appetizers and sides were very good as well and they had a wide ranging decently priced selection of wines. The restaurant atmosphere balances class and coziness very well. Rocio and Guillermo were lovely and made the evening very enjoyable. Am looking forward to coming again

I ate here with a fellow gorgeous big lad. We had the tasting menu plus some sides. The food was all fantastic bar the cheese course, but I do find Spanish cheese is the worst of all cheeses. ManchegNO is what I say. The steak was excellent, maybe one of the best steaks I've had. Enjoyed the cidre too. The staff were attentive and friendly, the food comes out slow, but when spending so much I don't want to be rushed. The atmosphere was strange, I felt like half the tables were sugar daddy kinda couples, white alpha males in banking and bald boomers on the verge of gaut. Nice decor though. It's a bit expensive, and to really enjoy it you need to be spending £100+ per person here. For that money you can probably have a better meal elsewhere.

The meat was very chewy and not warm and the potato uncooked. The starters were nothing special and such croquetes one can find much better in any tapas bar. The dessert was ok. The service was very slow. We ordered dessert wine and it was served when we had almost finished with the dessert, although we asked the service many times to bring the wine. But pricey! There are much better steak houses in town. Not recommendable at all.

We really enjoy everything! The staff was very kind and helpful, the food and drinks were great as well. The meat was prepared well and the desserts exceeded our expectations! We definitely want to dine here again.

I choose Sagardi to celebrate anniversary, as me and my girlfriend enjoyed last visit in this restaurant. I need to say it was the most basic and poor service I ever experienced. Our celebration was not acknowledged, service was not attentive. We were never asked about allergies which is so important.. wine we choose was never presented to us, only bottle was opened, we were serving wine for ourselves, no one cared to check with us if everything was alright. When we asked for the bill and mention to one of the servers that we will not be paying service charge as we were not happy with provided service, he told us that is Sunday and service is like that… Big compliments to the chefs as food was amazing. Meat was juicy and tender and potato wedges were on point. So disappointing that the service is not up to food standards. To finish, Sagardi is not a cheap restaurant and after this experience i need to say it's not worthy. The food is excellent but the service ruined all experience.

This place is great! We took a testing menu, it was interesting experience. The fish was too salty for me, and the potatoes were not very tasty. However they have a best steak 🥩 (and wine 🍷😅) in London! 🫶

Following a friend's recommendation we went there for a spontaneous lunch and were totally blown by the food and super friendly service. We had a couple of starters which were all super fresh and tasty and as a main the black inked squid which was one of the best squid dishes I have ever had. We had to wait a bit longer for our mains and the waiter apologised by topping up our wine with an extra glass of red for free. where do you get that? Will definitely go again!

Mixed feelings about this place. Very funky vibe but when we visited only two other tables were occupied, it was a Sunday afternoon. Seems COVID has had a lasting impact on customer numbers sadly. We were talked out of the lamb trotters by the waiter as bones and jelly but looking at reviews afterwards we would have gone for them. The black pudding starter was very light and a good way to start. We chose the premium beef for the main and this was cooked well and quite tasty. The Basque wine we chose was light and crisp. Staff were very welcoming and engaging. Would definitely recommend this restaurant as something a bit out of the ordinary.
