I have always been impressed with Sagar but sadly this time my curry consisted of very small uniformly chopped frozen vegetables. Not what I expected. A bit bland.

My other half had been to this resyurant the night before with a friend and as he enjoyed it so much we returned to meet with friends who were on holiday visiting London. The staff are friendly and the food delicious.

I visited Sagar in Percy street London for the first time having travelled from Nottingham to meet a friend! We ordered Idlis and Vada for starters and Dosas for our mains. The service was friendly and personal and the food was absolutely delicious. We didn't feel at all rushed and we were happy to be left to catch up with each other after the meal was finished.

The food is not tasty compared to the usual Indian food. Portions are small and price is high. Not a good choice for Insian food and not a good value for money.

Tucked away, just off Tottenham Court Road is this little unassuming gem serving authentic veggie and vegan delights from the Indian sub continent. The interior is modest, the staff all incredibly friendly and the food was outstanding and most reasonably priced. If I lived closer, I'd be in here at least once a week as the menu deserves thorough exploration. A real gem! And highly recommended!!

Excellent quality Indian vegetarian food. I have been coming here with my family for many years and I am pleased to say that Isak and his colleagues continue to serve fresh and tasty dishes.

Food is okay, there's a lot of it with each order. Restaurant is small and staff are friendly. Moderately expensive, not much mild stuff - not good if you're not great with spice. Recommend if you just need an Indian fix.

Myself and my Partner decided to pop into the restaurant as we are both fans of South Indian Cuisine. Ordered a Vada Starter and two Masal Dosa's Vada - Quite hard. Almost burnt Dosa - Basically insipid. Potato filling was bland. Not spiced at all Very soft / almost runny Portion of Sambar - VERY SMALL. Watery consistency. Same for the chutney which was almost thimbleful. What can you say to the waiter who asks you if everthing was ok ? Advice to the restaurant - You may be resting on laurels ? Only for a limited time now. At this rate, I am surprised you get any or many repeat customers My advice to the restaurant - Visit others. See what they do. Increase your miserly portions of Sambhar and Chutney Anyone going - Try other places. This is very very poor value. If you want taste and authenticiy - This is not the place to be

Came here again with friends recently. We were seated quickly. Service was relatively fast, the food tastes good, and the prices are fairly affordable too. A better experience compared to my first time visiting a few years ago, which is always nice to see! Overall, a pretty decent experience

The staff were friendly, glad to find all vegetarian restaurant. Reason for three stars.. The food was mediocre, the price was expensive. There were special offers that were not on menu or advertised in restaurant and not mentioned to us.( found out when customer asked when we were finishing). 3 star because of staff being pleasant otherwise I would have given two.

I got a big PAPER CLIP in my dish. The waiter did not apologize, just put on the spot that they would bring me a new dish. And who cares that the desire to eat (at least the same meal) disappeared after that. No discount was made as well.

Visited this long serving restaurant with my work colleagues for lunch for a team get together. We had such a great time ( the vegetarian dishes were amazing) that we stayed on all afternoon. The staff and the owner were so attentive to our requirements. Thank you so much.

Went to this restaurant the other day based on very positive reviews. Overall I was somewhat underwhelmed. The service was good and very friendly. The food was quite good, but that's all really. I have not been to a South Indian curry house before and I love the fact that it is vegetarian and vegan only but I just didnt find the food very exciting. I had a rasa vada for starter with lentil 'doughnuts' that were a bit bland - the soup itself was quite nice and very hot. For main I had a masala dosa - quite bland Im afraid. Overall, the environment and service was good, the food wasnt very inspiring.

Very poor service and the main I ordered was completely inedible. The waiters appeared rushed and inpatient even though the restaurant was not very busy. We had to ask several times for the bill, as we wanted to leave, but we were kept waiting for an unnecessarily long time. Needless to say I will not be visiting Sagar again in the future.

An excellent value Southern Indian Vegetarian restaurant close to the heart of the West End. A short walk up Tottenham Court Road. Simple decor. Wonderful, authentic southern indian food, the majority vegan. Friendly and efficient, very good value for the centre of London. We have visited on two occasions recently and everything we hve eaten has been excellent. We will be back!

Sagar had a wonderful range of South Indian vegetarian food which was different from what you'd usually see. The food was so tasty and what impressed us as well was the restaurant's sensitivity towards the recent virus outbreak. At the entrance there were a range of sanitation wipes/lotions and the restaurant was pristine throughout. There had clearly been a lot of care taken to make the restaurant a safe environment. Visit Sagar for wonderful food in a clean environment and support local businesses!

Really enjoyed the Dosa from this restaurant. I would eat here again as they had lots of great options for vegetarians. My friend who is gluten intolerant was also able to find plenty of options on the menu which was all labeled very clearly.

We were up in the West End for a couple of quiet beers, trying to avoid the pre-Christmas crowds. Someone had recommended Sagar for a curry later on. The menu at Sagar is fairly standard South Indian style veggie with popular items such as dosas. We were full of anticipation. We chose Bhel Poori and Dahi Vada to start (crunchy snack with puffed rice and rice flour doughnuts in yogurt) and Muttar Paneer and Veg Kootu with rice for main (Indian cheese in a creamy sauce and mixed veg in a coconut sauce) for our mains. Very disappointing. The starters were bland and over-sweetened and while the mains were slightly better in spicing but not much. Being polite, perhaps they are aiming at a certain market. If you like curries with excitement, go somewhere else.

I’d heard lots about Sagar and loved that our Airbnb was literally a 3 minute walk from the place on Percy Street! Went in tonight with my almost two year old son and was greeted warmly by the slightly older gent. He brought me a menu as I tried to park our buggy, then guided me to the desk to order.

I love Indian food and eat it quite regularly so I just thought I was going for a standard curry. After the first mouthful, I realised that this wasn’t the Indian food I was used to but possibly one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to. Food was super flavoursome and service was great.

Our fantastic waiter made some recommendations which we are delighted to have followed. Superb flavours and so fresh. Lucky vegans and vegetarians would be well served coming to this restaurant.

We ordered 2 starters, onions bhajias and Bhel which were okay. we were disappointed in the mains as we ordered paneer and it wasn’t spicy and it was bland. We found it strange how rapidly I starters came unless the onions bhaji were re-heated I’m not 100%.. I would advise maybe stick to trying South Indian varieties like the masala dhosa, idli sambhar instead of the curries. The paratha were made from dhosa flour which was different and batura was a good large size..overall it was average meal but not fully satisfying

Our first visit. We absolutely love South Indian food. This was pretty good but not spectacular. We ordered 1 x plain dosa, 1 x masala dosa, 1 x plain uttapam and 2 x mango lassi. We thought the sambal and the potato in the masala was too watery and therefore lost the richness in flavour. The mango lassi, dosas and coconut chutney all superb. Very clean, great presentation, lots of tables, extensive menu, prompt and friendly service and reasonable prices. No need to book a table before 1pm on a Sunday.

A quiet, neighborhood restaurant with traditional Indian food. Good curries, appetizers, and especially the lemon rice. The only disappointment was the bread- the pooris were bland.

El menú libre de cebolla y ajo por separado lo hizo tan simple. Todos muy sabrosos, pero definitivamente podrían haberlo hecho con más verduras en el curry. Sorry to say that this was a very disappointing experience from start to finish. From the unwelcome arrival to the poor service and even worse presentation and taste of food.... We won't be back. At no stage were we made to feel like a customer and despite not eating hardly any of the food served, the waiter never once asked us if the meal was okay... Maybe he knew already? I am sorry to say I would not recommend.

Good taste, authentic flavour. Busy restaurant. Staff need to be more in numbers. Clean tables. Dosa potato masala needs to be less meshed, it was like paste of potato - not good. Allergy information and knowledge - staff must be aware of these information.

We had a midweek lunch. The place e was busy and had a nice bright atmosphere. We shared Idli to start, having only had it once before it is difficult to say how authentic it was but certainly can say it was very nice. Masala dhosa was very tasty, the texture of the dhosa was great although filling whilst having great taste was a little too smooth.

I was coincidentally working in London at the same time as my daughter was there to see a show. She is a gluten free veggie. This restaurant is ideal - everything vegetarian, including (very unusually) wine options. The menu is clearly marked with vegan, gf etc options. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. There is a good range of drinks including a delicious homemade lemonade and a range of juices including passion fruit. They were also reasonably priced and served at a nice cool temperature. The staff were knowledgeable about allergens and my daughter felt totally safe and confident eating here.

Sagar does the best thali anywhere in London. The vegatables, like sabji, are done to perfection and the roti just right.

Had the udipi thali a bit expensive but considering the location and only vegetarian South Indian restaurant at the locale so price is justified. No formal offer of more rice.

Not only that two out of four guests had problems for the rest of our (vacation) day, the food was generally simple and bad. The Lassi tasted bad, the Chai was not a masala tea, no spices, the masala dosa filling was boring and re-warmed, the dhal tasted not as it should be and the uttapam was the worst on my life. Very disappointing and not without consequences for our bodies. Will never come again, for sure.

While the menu relies a bit too much on root vegetables as well as its superior dosa presentation, Sagar on Percy St is a dependable lunch or dinner when you really really need a place for a vegan to get some decent nourishment.
