We visited sagars in Blackrod on Sunday 23rd Feb 25.We have been many times before and have never been disappointed. The head chef Omar came out to have a word with us and between himself and David they decided that David would have a sea food sizzling platter which turned out to be absolutely delicious. I myself am not as adventures so I settled on a Lamb curry, equally delicious. As you usual we had a lovely evening and I'm sure it won't be long before we visit again.

Fantastic service …these guys know how to serve customers and set a scene for a great evening ….the poppadums were light and the chutney tray one of the most delicious I have tasted The food was delicious and not over salty /oily like some can be The spicing was delicate with plenty of meat …background music subtle so a great ambience all round. We had the early bird menu which is available Mon Wed and Thursday from 530pm for 16-90 each. Will be coming again for sure thanks to the staff.

We arrived at the Sagar on a very wet and windy evening, the table was booked for four at 18:00. It was already busy in there with diners and also guests for a large birthday party who were beginning to arrive at the same time. Nevertheless, we were seated in the foyer and asked what drinks we wanted while we perused the menu. The choices made were Poppadoms with the Sagar tray. starters 2 x Special Sagar Kebab, 1 x Chicken Zal Zala. Mains 2 x Lamb Sondia, 1 x Tandoori Mixed, 1 x Chicken Tikka Shashlik. Rice 1 x Onion Rice, 1 x Rashun Rice. Breads 1 x Puri, 1 x Chapatti. Despite it being very busy, we were shown to our table at 18:08, impressive. The Poppadoms and chutney trays soon followed, with the Sagar chutney being the favourite as it had a little heat with it. The layout of the restaurant is good, with the use of dividers adding to the feeling of privacy. It also wasn't overly loud, so reasonable conversation could be had. The staff were all very friendly, and not excessively obtrusive. Timely arrival of the starters, the Chicken Zal Zala had a lovely taste and was well constructed, but the best has to be the Special Sagar Kebab, basically a Seek Kebab infused with Cheese. This makes a massive difference and the taste is sublime, with or without any Raitha/Chutneys. Company excluded, this on its own was worth the visit. Then came the Lamb Sondia, which I paired with Rashun Rice. The Sondia is already an Apna Style curry, so plenty tasty enough, with a sharp heat that does not build into something unpalatable, and extra heat can be gained by eating the green chillies if necessary. We had the Lamb version, and the Lamb was well cooked, nice bite sized pieces and no trace of fat. The Rashun Rice is Rice with roasted Garlic, and was exceptionally good on it's own. Paired with the Sondia, they were the perfect match. My friend chose the Onion Rice, and that was a good choice too. The meals, combined with the drinks averaged at £30 per head, which is OK at time of writing, and in all a 5 star experience, with the company, food, and ambience combining to make a great evening out. This is the fourth time I have been to Sagar, and I will certainly visit again. Having been to many restaurants in the south Manchester area over the years, the fact we are willing to travel 33 and 10 miles respectively speaks volumes, and I can't recommend it enough, and a big thank you to all the staff for making it so.

Four of us dined on the Sunday deal which is very good value for money. We all agreed that we wouldn't have ordinarily ordered some of the starters & mains and would have opted for old favourites.Good to try a couple of different dishes. The food was good & couldn't fault the meal for £48.As per previous reviews you receive a very basic bill that doesn't itemise your bar tab.In other words you need to keep a note upon what you've had! That said I am pretty sure ours was right based on my guesstimate!!

Extremely disappointed! We’ve been going to Little India for years and was always our ‘go to’ for takeaway Indian food. Our last meal wasn’t great but we gave the benefit of doubt and ordered again last night. I’ve been ill through the night as I was previously with our last takeaway. Food wasn’t great at all and very expensive given the poor quality and presentation ! That will definitely be our last order as I will not be ordering again. I just wish I’d looked at some of the other reviews before giving them another chance! Very frustrating and annoying given the price we paid 😩

Bolton Halwa provided the catering for all my mum’s Prathna Sabha, Funeral, and Kyria service. Not only was the food excellent but the support that Bharat and his staff provided was brilliant during this difficult time for our family. Definitely recommend Bolton Halwa Centre for quality and service. I would say that Jalebi is a speciality for this place.

I just love Tandoori chicken and it is clear that the kitchen staff love making it. One of the best in Bolton
