Saffrons in Brighton and Hove

My go to place for authentic Indian comfort food. Daal was delicious and so was Bombay aloo. Lot of options for vegetarian food for reasonable price. Friendly staffs!

WOW.. incredible chefs here... if your really hungry.. hard day at work etc.. you have to try the Mix Grill.. even the curry you can taste the passion they have.. 🫶.. These guys are worth the money considering other local Indian takeaways are quite bland... please do not hesitate ORDER NOW..😋..

Ordered a Vindaloo and Peshawari Naan, GF had Tarkar Daal and King Prawn Puri. Vindaloo was really spicy and tasted great, Naan was good too. GF really enjoyed her meal. Curry comes with rice included. Prices are very reasonable. Food was ready fairly quickly for a Saturday night pick up and the staff seem nice. First time going to this Indian in Whitehawk, and would definitely go again.

Delicious takeaway curries are highly recommended and don't forget to order the naan and onion bhajis.

chicken was dry hard and chewy, popadoms were stale and all tasted like it had been made the day before and reheated dissapointed as its normally my favourrite indian takeaway

Curry was extremely watery. Chicken tasted like a plain chicken breast had been thrown in after and wasn’t very nice. Was a very plain and boring meal. There was also a thick black hair in it…

Got very authentic excellent Indian food locally , two people £20!! For Brighton this is great as the quality and price are usually bad in Brighton

ordered x2 Cheese Naans did not turn up with my order.. the chicken Korma was watery & very very cold, pilau rice had no flavour what so ever!!, onion bhaji were oily. very very disappointed!!

Used before but this time really bad. Waiting over 2 hours! Told just after 1 hrs Waiting for a driver to deliver! 1 hrs later driver rang. Told him to take it back. Asked for refund. No contact. Do not use!!!

Usually their food is great but they served me spicy dansack when I clearly ordered mild.

My food was cold and soggy and water filled my plate( have photos for proof) and when I called to tell the restaurant he implied I was lying and the water was condensation where it was hot.. yet the food was cold the rice was stone cold and the water was too much to be condensation even if the food was hot.. it turned my rice into mush and my naan soggy.. I’ve used this restaurant before and never had issues

Very good take away, food can be simply ordered online, in person or over the phone. Quick, tasty food and the chef is great too. Very affordable and good quality during my short trip to Brighton.

This is such a lovely place with an extremely delicious taste of Afghani and Persian cuisines and excellent service. I recommend it.

Whole family struggling with colds. Saffrons with a fab mix of spice and heat has cut through it. Veggie Balti hit the spot.

Great on time hot and so tasty

Loyal customer/waited an hour and a half. No apology. Delivered extremely hot overly reheated meat. Chewy, no taste, badly seasoned and not up to their usual standards. Standards seem to drop Mondays, I think it’s lazyness or lack of staff. But I had another order previously on a Saturday and it was perfect. So I don’t know what’s going on but embarrassing presenting this to my friends and family. As a recommendation for a takeaway meal.

Chilli chicken is more Sweet Chicken. Not Chilli chicken at all! Very disappointed.

Awful. Soggy chips and Naan bread. Curry Sauce was so sweet. Had to bin most of it. Had a dodhu Madras last time, but thought I would give them benefit of the doubt. Not again!

This was our first order from this takeaway. If you’re expecting popadoms and onion salad, this is not included. I would expect it to come with an order over £25. That aside, the chicken in my chicken naga (under the chef’s specialty section) had a very strange texture, like it was very dry, possibly overcooked. I couldn’t eat it. Unfortunately, we won’t be using this takeaway restaurant in the future.

Food overcooked, cold and lacked flavour!!! Such a shame as we’ve always loved Saffrons. Also curries were not labelled so we didn’t know which curry was the one we ordered.

I always enjoy their indian dishes. Their service is always very kind. The menu has a lot of options, and to be honest, all of them are good enough. Their service is take away or delivery only though, so done in is not possible, unless you want to eat without a table and seating on a waiting room sofa 😅. Chicken Tikka Masala, the just baked Naan and the Onion Bahji are my favourites there.

That’s the only Indian restaurant I normally use, it’s always good but this time the even better… was delicious I think the chef is different from my last order. Everything tasted 5 stars!! It very well cooked, meat very tender and fresh, and was still very hot upon its arrival! I definitely will order again!

Ordered a so called curry from here last night what a disaster had family round and this place was a wrong move no curry sauce more like tomato sauce everything was bland tikka had not been marinated just a slope of some kind of flavouring before cooking one of the family had 2 mouthfuls and threw it in the bin never to use this place again

Awful, the chicken tasted like ruber and the rice was bland. Make sure not to order from them every week because then they will start taking advantage.

We had multiple things missed from our order including popadoms, drinks and rice . Extremely disappointed and when it arrive also it was cold.

Cheap, good portions, tasty food.

Over a hour waiting no call couldn’t get through on phone had to walk to shop and collect. Chef/owner said his delivery driver had a emergency and had to leave. Just a call would of been nice. Food was excellent quality so will use again

Retract my 1 star,as delivery drivers wife had a stroke and the the guys were struggling to deliver. I ordered at shop and loved The smells and the customer service skills A*

I've tried a lot of local Indian takeaways and I think I just found my new favourite. The order was right, which seems to be a rarity on here (no matter how simple an order), and the food was incredibly tasty! The keema naan especially, was out of this world and the best I've had in years. The lamb was really tender too (it's so often chewy with other places).

Food did not turn up after waiting nearly two hours

This was really disappointing and we very nearly sent the order back. We had the mixed starter which was barely there….the smallest 3 pieces of meat I’ve ever seen and half a potato cut in 2 with a couple of onion bhajis. The curries also were not good. I never leave reviews but the reviews I read were nothing like what we received. I would not order from here again.

We have been going to saffrons for years our most recent order was disappointing and we are so sad about it. The prices have been increased but we are okay with this as we understand prices need to be put up every few years. The usual things we get didn’t taste the same :( the Dhansak was too sweet and way too much coriander!! - there was too much corridor on everything, it’s okay if it’s places on the top as I can remove it but when it’s mixed in I have to go through ever but trying to remove it as it tastes like soap to me, there never used to be so much!! All the dishes tasted different, please please go back to your previous ingredients as it was perfect before.

Placed order 6.20pm received 7.40pm. The popedoms was stale and I found a hard piece of wood or metal? In food, maybe a one off but I wont be ordering again.

First time trying Saffs. Let me tell you all this is very good Curry. Had lamb vindaloo, Lamb tikka balti. Onion bhajia sag aloo. Was very very good. I’ve been to Bhindis, shahi , this is up there with them both. Try it you won’t be dissatisfied.👍👍👍
