Coppa Club, Brighton in Brighton and Hove

7/9/24 Lovely place tucked away in the lanes. We had booked the outside space, though weather had different ideas. We had a good table inside our waitress (red DMs) looked after us and made us feel welcome and at ease. Great personality. 3 of our party of 4 ordered the steak. Which was very tasty. Unfortunately one of the steaks was a fatty cut. This meal was taken off the bill and my friend didn't want an alternative. We ordered dessert and this was offered at no charge in addition to the steak. We also had a second dessert for the birthday boy reading Happy Birthday (also no charge). A great start to our day out in Brighton. Thank you Coppa 😊

Ignored by the waiter who knew we had sat down outside with menus. He decided to serve the couple who arrived after we did. We walked out after 25 minutes of waiting. In 40 years of dining out, we have never been deliberately ignored by waiting staff before.

Went twice, 1st time we were late for breakfast but they still did my wife poached eggs on gluten free toast. 2nd time we got there in time for breakfast. Very good food. It is an excellent location in the middle of the south lanes jewelry quarter.

Food and drinks are great, service is better.

Took ages to get served my coffee, which I can understand as they were understaffed. But it was pretty expensive for what it was - like over £4 for a cappuccino.

A charming place to grab a drink. Surrounding the old fountain in the middle of the lanes, it's a shame it's locked away in this cafe now. But a very trendy but pricey place to sit. Coffee completely unremarkable but mocktails were delicious.

Nestled within the charming, narrow streets of Brighton, Coppa Club stands as a delightful haven amidst a plethora of global eateries and charming businesses. Our early evening visit to this oasis, complete with a cooling fountain, provided a refreshing respite and an opportunity to explore their menu. The ambiance at Coppa Club is inviting, with its alfresco dining area surrounding the iconic dolphin fountain, creating a serene and picturesque setting. The menu, while reasonably basic, offers a good selection of dishes that cater to various tastes. We found the choices to be satisfactory, with something for everyone. The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the service. The gentleman attending to us was both helpful and polite, enhancing our dining experience with his courteous demeanor. However, one aspect that slightly marred the experience was the automatic addition of a 10% surcharge to the bill. While the service was commendable, the £11.30 tip felt a bit steep for the overall experience. In summary, Coppa Club Brighton offers a pleasant dining experience in a beautiful setting. The service is excellent, and the menu, though basic, provides good options. The automatic surcharge, however, might be something to consider before your visit. Who receives the tips?

Perfect from start to finish - Service fabulous food great - lovely atmosphere

A few friends and I had the pleasure of visiting Coppa club in Brighton over the weekend. We were able to sit outside in the terrace, which I would definitely recommend if the weather is good! The atmosphere was lovely, all the staff were super attentive and looked after us really well. We weren’t left waiting around to be served, always had a drink in hand and were given some great recommendations for food choices. The cocktails were unreal and our meals were realllyy good! All amazing quality and at an affordable price too. Overall I would definitely come back and would recommend this place to anyone!

Expensive and small ready meals from the freezer, then to serve a meal without any sauce and charge £2 for tbsp of aoli is terrible, staff had no idea what they were serving and the tables were filthy, a beef ragu with literally 3 bits a beef and hard pasta that hard clearly been over microwaved.... will definitely not be returning

Lovely carbonara and the best espresso martini i’ve had ever! Staff were so lovely and chatty would deffo recommend!

Sat in the sunny terrace for a dinner. Two people £102 Beer, wine, cocktail, dinners and deserts. Good food, good ambience, would recommend.

Very nice restaurant with a lovely terrace and extremely friendly service in the middle of the lanes. The only shame is that the bar closes at 9 p.m. during the week.

Great restaurant with garden outdoor or indoor dining. Very cosy chic ambience. Really enjoyed an excellent buratta salad, rib eye with bearnaise sauce and baked cheese cake. A few glasses of Montepulciano helped it down nicely. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

It’s a nice garden but the food size is too small and salad is awful also still hungry after meal so won’t recommend at all.

We have coffee here most day and the staff are always pleasant and has a very warm atmosphere Ellis is exceptionally good makes beautiful coffee latte can't praise him enough best in the city worth a visit if your in Brighton

Sat in the attractive courtyard, next to the fountain. Lunch was excellent: a glass of prosecco, a burrata salad, zucchini fries and a sweet potato with feta and hazelnut salad. A really cozy place with delicious food!

We had today amazing experience having lunch at Coppa Club. Folks from service did everything and beyond to make sure that we had great experience.

Good and large starter, but a minimal main course. Thought they had made a mistake and served us appetizer size. The taste was ok, but just as hungry afterwards. Good beer, they should have that.

Lovely vibe for drinks in both the sunny summer and cold miserable Brighton winters! Friendly staff, clean, good drink selection. No pressure to get food as well, making it the perfect place to swing by for a cocktail or coffee.

It's always lovely to stumble across little gems like this one. The staff couldn't be friendlier and more welcoming and my Mum and I actually visited twice during a Brighton stay - once for coffee and again for dessert and drinks. The vibe is kind of lounge, meets hotel lobby meets members club but in a really friendly, relaxed way. There's also a really gorgeous outdoor seating area if the weather is nice. Thank you again for looking after us Coppa Club Team!

From ordering coffee 25 mins. The food was ok .toast not on a side plate. Looked like it had been under a heat lamp for a while.

I personally don't recommend the gluten free carbonara, as it is really salty (and I'm usually heavy on salt), but I appreciated the change in dish when I pointed it out. Staff were nice and accommodating.

We called into the Coppa Club on Bank Holiday Sunday and ended up staying for over 2 hours, such was the warmth of welcome and the overall lovely atmosphere. Our son loved the garlic pizza and we enjoyed some amazing cocktails. It was very busy but even so, the service was superb and all the staff were so friendly: when the cocktail ingredients started to run out due to high demand and there was a small mix up with our cocktail order (nobody's fault, just one of those things) Bianca the Manager insisted on us having a couple of cocktails on the house! Needless to say, we left with big smiles on our faces. Thanks to all at Coppa, a really lovely place hang out in The Lanes. Plus, serviette's the size of towels which came in handy back at our campsite! 😂

The main part of the meal was great I had the steak and it was lovely just not enough of it my wife had the prawns that was nice but two or three more prawns would have been nice,, the main we both had the chicken which was absolutely delicious but the accompanying sides just felt lazy red cabbage reminded me of a kebab shop side and the fries just seemed like a easy option, will definitely eat here again but hope the main parts of the dish get the sides they deserve

The igloo was dusty with cobwebs, had chipped paint, only one blanket for the entire eight seats in there and zero heating. The food was very expensive but was tiny portions and little taste. A huge nearly £9 in service charge which was automatically added so if you dont or cant pay that, you have to go to the embarrassment of asking it to be removed. Waited ages for food to arrive and the heaters didnt work so it was freezing inside the igloo and the waitress tried her hardest but others she brought in also didnt work. £66 for two people who ended up having to get fast food after as they were still hungry. £8.50 for a tiny pudding was also unbelievable. Such a shame as I saved up for my partner's birthday and we would have paid half as much in a standard restaurant, eaten quicker, been fuller and kept warm!

Went there this morning for the early lunch, food and service was great, we had 2 little children with us and they made us all feel very welcome, we will totally recommend this place.

Lovely bar but service terrible and had to wait over 25 minutes utes to get our drinks!

We waited just over an hour for our starters and we never even got to eat our mains , after 2 hours we said guys we have to go shortly as we have cinema tickets,. They went to check in the kitchen and just come back and said alright!, we asked if we waited how long it would be and they couldn’t say but said it wouldn’t be much longer and that was after 2hours! On top of that draft beer had run out a good few starters and main course they were out of as well. Funny thing was there was only three other tables sitting eating in the whole restaurant and it was only 2pm, reckon by dinner time there would be no food left, crazy, very polite waiter and pleasant interior but if you can serve food it all wasted. We had the kids with us, they then had to wait to after the film to eat by which time they were all past it and spoiled out afternoon deeply disappointing

I would give this place under one star if there is the option the service was so bad the waitress was so racist and rude

The one star should only go for the sweets, But if you wanted to face such a rude attitude this is the right place. We all have worked once in customer service but never treated anyone like this 🤡

Nice food shocking service. Some nice staff but not trained so trying but failing. Got asked numerous times for order then when you asked for more drinks or water you had to ask 3 times at least! One snooty waitress seemed not to care until it came to paying bill then the fake smile came out. Didn't spoil our evening because we wouldn't let it but wouldn't rush back for sure. Shame.

Food always fabulous. Called yesterday Sunday lunchtime. What made this visit beyond fabulous were the staff. What a brilliant team. Friendly, smiley and really helpful. The young staff who served the outdoor pod yesterday, bravo, you made the experience brilliant, even for my very fussy soon to be 80 year old mum. Thank you Karen

Cosy place, friendly staff...overall a pleasant experience

Drinks and atmosphere here are great. The service is friendly, but a bit slow. However, I don't like the mandatory 12.5 per cent tip added to every bill. The business should pay its employees a living wage. I like to leave a tip as a thank you for excellent service, not as a requirement.

Contacted the venue as requested following my initial review for them to resolve - over a month later and no reply still. I'm unsurprised given the dreadful service on the day we visited to be honest. We'd previously visited the Guildford branch and had a wonderful meal, excellent service and found it very family friendly, therefore we'd been looking forward to our visit to the Brighton branch. Unfortunately it didn't start well, we were escorted to a table in the back corner where remnants of a staff meal were still on the table, and were told the cleaner liked to sit at that table. This was despite this being before 12pm in a virtually empty restaurant. It felt fairly obvious they were trying to keep children as far away from other people as possible. We were then quite clearly forgotten about as nobody took our order for a very long time. The food was on the whole ok, but largely dissapointing compared to our previous experience. The sourdough bread was more like heavily seeded rye bread, dense, incredibly dry and barely warmed, certainly not warm enough to disguise the dryness, I sent it back in the end. The pigs in blankets looked to only just be on the cusp of being properly cooked, they were pale, to the point we wondered if they were chicken sausages. The kids garlic bread was very dry, my daughter found it hard going and I suspect only ate it because by the time food arrived, she was very hungry. The service wasn't fantastic, nobody asked about allergies, which I think is fairly standard these days, were were left a long time before even a drinks order was taken and out starter's were flung at us by a member of staff who was either annoyed to be there or incredibly disinterested. The ladies toilets weren't very clean or tidy and there was no soap available at all. In fairness, they removed the cost of a starter and I think we were expected to be more appreciative that the service charge had been removed without us having to ask. Given this was meant to be our main family meal out over the festive period, we left incredibly dissapointed, and without any sort of festive cheer unfortunately. We won't return as clearly we weren't welcome with children and the food and service didn't live up to the expectation set by the Guildford branch.

Really friendly, lovely atmosphere

I've been here twice recently for drinks and the service has been very slow. Last time the staff were all stood around the bar chatting and we had to go up and collect our own drinks and ask for the bill. We certainly would had more drinks in the time if they had of been quicker.

Been for dinner twice this week. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, great food, fantastic vegetarian choices and dog friendly!!

5/5!!! Where to even begin? Me and my 3 friends came here for our New Year’s Eve dinner and it did not disappoint. Food was spectacular and the staff were amazing, so attentive and generous. One of the waiters Joseph was amazing made us laugh our heads off and the Manager was anything you could ask for whilst also being super busy! Amazing dinner for those special occasions. Will be back very soon.

We popped in for an afternoon cocktail & snack. The atmosphere was lovely & relaxing, the vibe very chill. The cocktails we had were very good & I would highly recommend. We had some buttermilk fried chicken & olives for snacks & both I couldn't fault. Would recommend if you're in the area.

Popped in for a drink on Xmas Eve, great atmosphere, the service was brilliant. The prices were reasonable as well. We didn't have food but it looked good! Will be definitely coming back.

Clearly a place for tourist. Went today and it is very average…and I’m nice. Salmon super dry with no salt no pepper no herbs, just a lemon and some greens. Fish cake seemed bought from aldi… and on top of that we waited 45mn to get our mains…

The venue overall was good but the igloo we were in for our meal felt a little cramped and door didn't shut fully. Temperature outside was -2 and we did feel it even with the heater on! Food, again overall good but the steak Pasta Ragu was a little underwhelming and not as hot temp wise as was expected. Was warned prior that the meat portion wasn't great and true enough, it wasn't! Service however was impeccable with lovely student from America taking our orders and serving up, making our evening stay a little more enjoyable with good, friendly banter!

Finished the meal feeling a bit disappointed. I ordered the steak frites which was very well done ( I ordered it pink). The portion and quality is something I would expect from Wetherspoons. My wife ordered the beef ragu pasta which was luke warm served in a cold bowl. I do recommend this place and I won’t be returning.

Some interesting things on the menu. Food was tasty and hot and it has a nice atmosphere about it. The service was good but not too intrusive but it isn't a cheap place to eat. dinner and wine for three was around £100.

Visited on Sunday evening and there were quite a few dishes out of stock. However, the server was extremely kind and friendly and explained which ones weren’t available. The buttermilk chicken wasn’t great. The pieces of chicken used were cheap and gristly but the siracha mayo sauce and pickled cabbage was nice. Disappointed they didn’t have the roasted pineapple! Relaxed vibe and great service.

Smashing evening at coppa .. staff were lovely and on the ball , all 4 of us had lovely meals including steak and chips , parpadelle ragu and carbonara all delicious 😋

If relaxation's your thing, then this is the place! 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Really comfortable interior 🛋️, with a well thought through arrangement of seating areas 👌🏽 ranging from living room style sofa corners, to diner-esque tables and 1:1 tables as well. The staff that served us was super lovely. We had a little spillage and without question the person serving us got us replacement cappuccinos ☕

Really poor quality service . Booked for birthday meal the table wasn’t set up so we waited 15 mins . The restaurant was empty and it took 20 mins to get our drinks because the staff where chatting , the food was fine but not what was ordered , really disappointing experience.

We are currently 1hour and 15 minutes into our wait for food. I can't be bothered to wait for the main before reviewing this restaurant 😩 We have my wife's brother visiting from Korea, and prior to taking him to the airport, we thought hiring a pod and having some nice food before taking him to Heathrow would be nice. When the starter took 45min I asked why such a long wait, the answer we are busy. On arrival there were not many people inside and we ordered all food and drink straight away. The starter was nice but this wait is unreal, we just want to enjoy the time we have before he needs to go to the airport but we find ourselves stressed at the wait.

Amazing service from the staff who were extremely funny personable and fun. We did have to chase up some missing food and wrong items served but everyone enjoyed their food, Altho they had run out of a lot of the popular options. My sausage ragu however was rather bland, could barely taste the fennel in it or any flavour other then the pasta it’s self and lacked any sausage meat really. My Creme Brûlée Cocktail was amazing though!

While exploring the Lanes, we discovered this restaurant. The outside space, featuring a fountain and igloo-like pods, offered a cozy and enchanting atmosphere. We dined in one of the igloos, much to the kids' delight. The food was enjoyable, satisfying everyone, with the Mackrell salad deserving special mention. While the staff was exceptionally friendly and cheerful, we noticed a bit of inattentiveness, perhaps this was related to the number of guests to serve, as the place got busy. Nonetheless, we had a fabulous overall experience and can't wait for our next visit!

The service is terrible. In a completely empty restaurant it took over 45 minutes to get drinks. Then when the food eventually came, it was wrong and less than average. Don’t waste your money.

The central courtyard is lovely as an atmosphere. The staff are friendly but my God the food and service are horrible. The food has no taste and is a joke in terms of portion sizes, and we had a pretty funny but inexcusable matter that happened : we ordered the garlic flatbread and the one that arrived to our table was the cheese flatbread by mistake. We had already eaten a slice of it when the waitress took it back to take it to the other table and took with her own hand a slice from our flatbread to put it instead of the missing one for the other table !!! Proper food service training and tasting needs to be properly given to a food outlet.

Had an afternoon cheeky drink did not eat but the food looked fine. Very impressed with a waiter that spotted a problem and acted without being asked. Not rocket science but surprising rare. Well done that man.

Just a shame the service does not stack up to the nice food and decor.... Had to chase staff repeatedly to come to our table.... including paying the bill. Not good. They weren't even that busy considering it was bank holiday Monday.
