The Gin Tub in Brighton and Hove

Phenomenal service and lovely drinks.

A venue that I've often looked out from outside, wondering what the experience would be like. However, being a resident of Hove that resides within 5 minutes of the venue, that makes little difference to the allowance of attendance. The 1 star is that it does not allow me to put less. Does not want any locals. I will not comment on the short sightedness (or extreme rudeness) of the staff here. So sad. Wish this business all the best. Could be sooooo much better if it accommodated locals. Perhaps I've given myself a reason, this evening, why I avoid the place at all costs....Sad for them. As the business sees itself somewhat in a different way than locals do......

Always my favourite spot to go to for Cocktails in Brighton and Hove. The atmosphere is amazing, service is second to none and the cocktails are divine. I love that when the bar closes I can go down to the club underneath Miss Debbie and carry on xx

I heard such great things about this place. However I went in January when it wasn’t that busy and ordered the “You’ve got mail” drink which was £15 and included a Polaroid picture which they send to you in the mail. The first Polaroid turned out bad as the staff member quickly came over and didn’t let us get ready so it was all of us getting ready for the photo and turned out very blurry. The staff member then came back and said they would take another one and this time we were ready however we did not get shown the Polaroid that was going to be sent in the post. I have just received the envelope with the Polaroid in to find it is completely black and the only thing visible in the Polaroid is the light. I find this appalling that they have the audacity to send a Polaroid picture which is completely black yet I paid £15 to have the Polaroid picture included with the drink. I do not recommend getting this drink as it will be a total WASTE of money.

Great concept with the telephones on the tables, relaxing with music upstairs with the option to go downstairs for a boogie (even for us oldies!). Great atmosphere, fantastic cocktails, service always with a smile. Steve the owner is a great host and makes sure everyone has what they need and are enjoying themselves. Went 2 nights in a row and definitely go again next time I'm in the area. Thanks Steve!

Seemed quite expensive and was quite cramped. Didn't really enjoy it. Didn't have food, just drinks

Came here yesterday and I saw that there were creepy men following customers around and the drinks were overpriced. The new bar has lovely staff, and the gin is great! But the atmosphere was terrible.

Came for the first time last night as I was in the area with my other half. Service was perfect. I think it was the owner was very kind and even gave us a free shot as it was our first time. Had 2 cocktails both was very nice including the candy floss one. I would highly reccomend this place if you are in the area 10/10

Came here for a quick drink with my mates and the place was looking immaculate. The cocktails were beautiful and Ella’s service was amazing!

The drinks upstairs are delicious and beautiful to look my personal favourite of the night was the toblerone martini! To make the night even better we headed downstairs to the underground club and the atmosphere was electric. I have to give a special shout-out to Isaac he was fabulous! Best bar in brighton and Hove will be returning asap.

I love the concept of the gin tub and atmosphere with the club downstairs for dancing as well but unfortunately on the two occasions I've been (for birthdays) I've found the staff really rude, mainly the manager. Both times as a group we've spent a lot of money and always not felt very welcome and an inconvenience. Due to this we won't be coming back again.

Booked a table for Saturday night for birthday celebrations and everything was excellent. Service was attentive and the novelty of ordering your drinks via the telephone on the table was so good! Cocktails were prepared expertly and all our drinks were delicious.

Good atmosphere, confusing drinks menu and service was a bit iffy. Great place for something different however we only got half the drinks we ordered and charged for ones we didn’t order. In fairness they did sort it all out, but was a bit of a pain. YOU MUST BOOK!

Great cocktails, a little on the pricey side but you are paying for what you get. Big range of cocktails as well so lots of choice. Beautiful interior decor. Lots of fun for a night out, hen do, work event.

Went for birthday cocktails yesterday and it never disappoints. Absolutely amazing! Small garden area too which is a lovely sun trap. They've got a wicked downstairs area too. Well worth it if you're celebrating or just a night out.

Great place, the variety of gin is ridiculous! Really friendly staff and a great atmosphere, I would recommend the 'Elephant Germany' and 'Lavender haze' Gin cocktail.

Very fun little bar and I love the little bath tub cocktail. Calling the bartender on the phones at the table was a cute extra touch.

Great fun, great service, brilliant atmosphere and, more to the point, absolutely banging cocktails. Will definitely be going back. Make sure to book, space is at a premium and remember that it's in Hove so allow time for a decent walk back to Brighton's bright lights.

The Gin Tub was a fabulous spot, especially during their happy hour. We all enjoyed our cocktails thoroughly. My cosmopolitan was the best I've ever had!

Quirky and very Brighton. Calling the bar to place your order and receive delicious gins and cocktails. Always fun to bring someone who's new to the city. The music always seems to be banging too. Deep in Hove so plan that if you're heading for a night out. Lots of nice backdrops and photo ops!

Had a chilled Saturday afternoon in here. Nice set up and lovely variety of gins and cocktails. Only thing let it down was grumpy waitress. Don't like the toilet arrangements and no loo roll.

Great atmosphere but the space is tight. Good Dj at the basement bar. I think his name was DJ Desire. Overall, not a bad experience for a middle to upper-class part of Hove. This isn't a luxury bar/lounge/restaurant. It's great for a night out.

Dropped in twice this week for their Gin Happy Hour. Service great & we were, actually, happy, which is unusual for my partner because she's a terribly miserable woman.... Lovely staff too...

This is the place that has become the background of many photos online and you always wonder where is it. I found it. And It's fantastic. 10/10 for the decor. A swing outside the loo. It's perfect.

Excellent cocktails, Amazing decor & Staff very attentive.

First time in brighton. Big gin fan, closes late as per door notice. She looked at the clock 10:40pm and at my indian face and decided on a rule that they do serve drinks but only to those inside. So wanted to try a gin cocktail and was recommended by many. My bad...won't set foot again. I have amended my review but a wise note : please add on your website that single entry's are denied access it is that simple. It would have been better for your staff to be like : "sorry we are about to close and we have already made the last call. You are welcomed to come and see us tomorrow. Please note its best that you are accompanied". The look she gave me, no smile, did really make me feel I'm unwanted and I should look elsewhere.

Super nice place and amazing decoration. It's a place where you can discover inside a lot of things.

This place is unviable you can't go there alone because you are alone they even don't ask you if any one will join you etc any way if l want to have drink do l have to go with 10 people what happen to pub culture

Great atmosphere and decor. Music a stylish mix of genres. Staff motivated and attentive. Huge drinks menu, but only one served in a bathtub, sort it out Gin Tub!

Friendly enough but really slow service and also the worst old fashioned we've both ever had. Do not reccomend.

This place really went downhill. Shame. The hostess (older blonde woman in her late 50s, or 60s) was super rude. I have no idea how she thinks it’s okay to talk to customers like dirt for doing absolutely nothing wrong but I definitely won’t be returning. The place is full of 18 year-olds anyway. There was a girl in front of us buying drinks when she looked about 15 (plus heavy make up) and no one thought to ask her for an ID.

Been a couple of times. Pricey. Bit the vibe is fun calling on old phones for a drink. Starting to look a bit shabby round the edges if toy go for a day drink. Waitress was very friendly and helpful.

Cancelled my booking for a cocktail making class without telling me (even though I called to confirm everything). Ruined plans for my friend’s hen-do. Need to change their booking system.

The staff here are so lovely and helpful, could see the bartender making all of the cocktails at lightning speed but every single one was beautifully done. The menu is incredible, so much choice and so many interesting gins you can’t find elsewhere! It’s so fun to call the bar from your table on the old school phone. The playlist was also fantastic, we had an amazing time.

Fantastic little boutique bar with interesting decour and lovely cocktails

I was there on my birthday about 2 weeks ago and I loved it. I go there from time to time. They have happy hours where you can get 2 cocktails for £12. The rotary phones are sooo cool. Our waitress Tia was amazing, funny and we had a lovely time. I very much recommend going.

Staff were alittle forgetful but very lovely, I think it's tough for everyone getting back to work after covid. Bit disappointed that they add 10% service charge when it's just a bar, would be better to include that in the prices on the menu. Still had a fun night.

Me and my friends absolutely love this place. The staff really make it, they’re so friendly and chatty and helpful and love a bit of banter! Huge selection of gins and cocktails, and the decor/vibe is great too. Lovely unique edgy place to go for a drink or 12 xx

Quirky place to go. Great fun if you're with a group. A telephone on each table for you to phone your order through to the bar. Your can also ring other tables. The drinks are ok. Very highly priced for the area (London prices and above!!) The staff are great. Happy to serve and good at recommendations. You need to book a booth which is a two hour slot. 4 of us spent £110.00 on 8 drinks so you can work it out. No food available when we were there three weeks ago so not sure if food is an option. Worth going for the experience but fill your wallet first. We enjoyed it though.

Love this bar! Such a quirky little place with amazing decor and lovely staff. The menu is huge, so many different gins to choose from and lots of yummy cocktails too. Would highly recommend!

Loved this fun bar. Order your drinks by using the vintage telephones on your table. Lovely cocktails, try catch "Happy Hour" 2 for 1. Ideal for Birthday celebrations & Hen Parties...would advise to book first.Staff/Service good, no hanging around for drinks. I'll be back for sure as it's just round corner from my favourite Hotel where I always stay when visiting Brighton.

Funky and interesting..the telephones on the table, so you can ring your order through, are a nice quirk. Only problem is that it's so noisy that the bar staff can't hear you so they have to come over anyway 🙂

Baroque, overstuffed, but great fun. Phoning your order in to the bar is a godsend when it's heaving, but feels deeply weird when it's just you and the barkeep 6ft apart. Great selection of gins as you'd expect, super garnishes. Could do with a little imagination on the snack front, but people are not here for the nibbles... Decor is 1920s Paris salon and all the better for it. Go for happy hour: two large gins with Fever Tree mixers for £12 between 5 & 7, worth dialling long distance for.

Cool bar. Huge selection of gins, not so much choice of other spirits but nice cocktails. Music is varied and the whole idea of ordering by phone and been able to call other tables makes it special and fun

If you love gin you will love here. A bit pricey but worth it.
