Good quality good value Ely takeaway. Turned up on spec but didn’t have to wait too long. Friendly service

Ordered a take away for 7 of us on Friday night, we we not disappointed with what arrived. Quick, hot and delicious. Would most definitely recommend and use service again.

I was very interested to see proper Indian dishes on offer at the new Ely Spice takeaway in Broad Street... rather than the ubiquitous Bangladeshi cooking. Flavours of the Special dishes are truly different and delicious .. but the green curry in particular is almost inedible because of the over-use of chilli. Too much salt also. Shame...as Ely needs more authentic, independent ethnic eateries.

The new owner doesn’t feel the need to reply to constructive criticism of their takeaway service, so hence why I’m reiterating it on here. We spent £30+ on 2 meals, the samosas were really spicy which isn’t a big deal, that’s what raita is for! However, what was a big problem was one of the “mild” mains were extra extra spicy, as an Indian myself I know when something says it’s mild that it shouldn’t be too spicy to eat! The other main was just not what I ordered, I always have the same dish from Indians but never had one like that. However, the manager or owner (whoever gets the reviews through their ordering system) couldn’t be bothered to follow my complaint up with anything. He just acted like he knew better or whatever his excuse was. Over the last few years we have spent hundreds with this company! If he treats everyone like this, Saffron won’t last long. The previous owners were heads and shoulders above these in customer service, cooking dishes to their own specifications (e.g if its mild, they used to cook it as a mild!) and quality too. Shame. We’re never spending another penny with Saffron now... thankfully Ely is not short of takeaways!!!

Not bad food but the take away dishes weren't even up to the half way mark. Feel a bit ripped off. It also arrived late. Will not go again.

I phoned Saffron twenty five minutes before they closed on the off chance that I could place an order and they could not have been more helpful. They placed my order and had it ready by the time I had walked there. The welcome was first rate and we in no way felt hurried despite it being their closing time. The food was full of flavour and obviously had good quality ingredients. I would highly recommend it.

Dropped in here on the spur of the moment to order a curry after a visit to a local public house. I had heard that the owner, Kam, used to own an Indian Restaurant of high repute in the past and had recently opened this takeaway. The meals served on this occasion have to rank amongst the very best curries I have ever tasted. Top Notch....Fragrant, flavoursome, fantastic....will be returning with friends soon.....

Family curry night for 4. Booked online via their website. Warm welcome, clean & tidy restaurant and pleasant staff. Attentive but not overbearing, orders taken, drinks, poppadums etc. Excellent menu, good range with a few different dishes on there. All food was very good, tasty, well presented (table needed to be a bit bigger!) and good portion size. All in all, a great first time for us but certainly not the last. Would highly recommend.

We parked across the road, outside the church(popped into the church to explore for 15 minutes as the restaurant had not opened), opened on time at 5pm. Very friendly and engaging staff, excellent menu and we ordered takeaway although the restaurant itself looked inviting. The cuisine was so delicious. We had each ordered a main dish each and added extras to supplement and to share. Different Naan bread's also. My special biriani was so enjoyable and all dishes ordered were subtly spicy. Fantastic value for money, this was on a level par to what we are used to at our local Indian back home. Great meal whilst on vacation in Cambridgeshire.

Very authentic food with a pleasant atmosphere. Curry’s have loads of flavour and the pricing is very reasonable considering the current situation. Definitely recommend this for the surround area.
