Saffron Indian Takeaway in Wiltshire

Delivery was good. Curry was not good Lamb so tough was inedible, paratha very stodgy. Chicken curry quite tasteless. Very disappointing will not order from there again 🙁

Very dry with no taste, made us feel ill

Delivery was prompt and earlier than expected. The curry tasted good and the flavour was nice - but the lamb was so dry and tough - tasted like it was old which was really disappointing.

The prawn madras was very watery. Sauce wasn’t very tasty. Our popadoms were also not whole and we didn’t get two whole ones. Rest of the food was good.

Was cold, and not very flavourful sadly Chicken pakoras had quite wet, floppy batter, naan was good though. Rice was cold and full of water Just all lacking in flavour

Tasteless, chewy and the garlic bread was tasteless and seemed old. The popadoms were soggy and the food in general was tepid if not cold. Very disappointed.

Very disappointed! It’s not very often we have a takeaway but tonight after a bad week we thought we’d spend out. Saffron in the past have never disappointed. I really can’t say the same tonight. I ordered chicken madras and mushroom rice. My curry had 6 pieces of chicken in a very runny sauce. No flavour at all. My daughter who only likes korma tried it and asked what it was! My husband had a lamb tikka Pathia. That would blow my head off and I’d literally try it on the end of my fork. I’ve just asked him and he’s said 3/10 it just tasted of tomato with a massive lemon tang! Saffron. You are not cheap. We will not be coming back.

Absolutely awful food. The food was cold on delivery. The rice was so wet that the plate was swimming. The chicken was overcooked and dry. The naan bread was very tasteless. Our order included garlic rice and garlic naan yet you couldn’t taste any garlic at all. So disappointed. Will never order from here again.

I don’t believe I received the correct Naan bread which then spoilt the rest of my meal.

Good delivery, decent price with discount, but average food. It was palatable but nothing that stood out. The price reflected the quality.

I usually really like Saffron, and I ordered Fruity Murgh. However, the sauce tasted literally like nothing, the chicken looked like leftovers and wasn’t even tikka as described, and a few pieces off fruit chucked in. Extremely let down.

After working in an Indian take away as a teenager I’m a bit of a curry snob! I’ve lived in Salisbury for 6 years and have consistently had amazing food from Saffron even on busy bank holiday weekends. We have occasionally tried other curry houses and are always disappointed and realise saffron really is the best in the area! Our family who visit from Dorset often ask for a saffron take away as it’s even better than places near them! Thank you for the consistently alway cooking an amazing and super tasty curry!

Sadly not as nice as it used to be. Both our curries were bland and tasteless. A real shame as have had lovely food from here in the past.

I ordered biryani from this takeaway , and it was a disaster!!!! The biryani lacked any aroma or flavor whatsoever. It tasted like cooked plain rice with a few pieces of unseasoned meat thrown in. It was a complete disappointment, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for authentic biryani.

matar paneer had very few pieces. chicken korma had very few pieces. Raglan josh was ok.

Generally Saffron is the only takeaway I get that is usually hot and it was this time. Food was decent as ever too, and it was within the scheduled time slot.

food was terrible and took two mouthfuls and chucked it in the bin and went hungry. chicken was hard and chewy sauce was not great rice was not great mushrooms were not cooked and nan was under done. Not good as it was not cheap.

My favourite was the starter, garlic prawns — the flavour was delicate and delicious, not too garlic heavy and it tasted like it also contained other aromatic spices which made it absolutely delicious. The prawns were cooked perfectly. Next time I’d double up and have this as a main unless it’s also on there as a main dish! To follow I had garlic lamb which was also very nice. Delivery was quicker than the estimate, by a very friendly person. Definitely recommend! 😊

I’ve given it 4 stars because the quality of food was good but it was the worse chicken tikka I’ve tasted. It had a weird flavour and I think what was a ton load of coconut flakes in the sauce + only 4 chicken pieces in it.

Got a takeaway from here last night, a chicken korma had been added with spicy bits and tasted very different, chips were not cooked enough still a bit soggy and worst of all was the naan bread completely burnt, was rock solid could hardly break it up, very sad as i was getting a takeaway from here weekly and now this has happened, i will be moving to another restaurant.

Had a wonderful meal from here tonight! We ordered a selection of dishes and all were full of flavor and cooked to perfection! I recommend this takeaway if you are looking for a tasty indian!

Disappointing meal. The onion bhajis and samosas tasted like they were cooked in old vegetable oil. The meat was quite dry, however, the vegetable biryani and sag aloo were good. Such a shame as was looking forward to it.

Food was cold and not it’s usual standard. Bit disappointing this evening.

Do not order a takeaway from this place, they are rude and the takeaway doesn’t even turn up, promised on way for nearly two hours, never arrived, terrible service.

Chicken was very big and full of brown veins and tubes. sauce was watery no taste. Real shame as I loved this Indian

Sauce was very watery compared to normal and the onion bhaji were very spicy which they usually aren't. We order here all the time so unsure if the chef/management has changed since our last order

I have had butter chicken from several indian restaurants,but this was totally different.It was too sweet,yellow and had to throw away.

The food turned up it was luke warm

There was a mistake with the order but they apologised, gave free popadoms and were really upset. The food was excellent and I will order again. Really good communication and a super tasty evening. To err is human and I will not mark them down.

Normally rate Saffron 5 stars but unfortunately this time the chicken was dry. Flavour of the curry and the rest of the food couldn’t be faulted.
