Saffron in Ashfield

We live locally and decided to try this place as it has fairly recently changed ownership and had heard good things about it. The decor is now really lovely and the place warm and welcoming. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and made us feel very at home.. We were a group of 6 and we all agreed that the food was delicious - as was the red wine!! Great to have such a good place in walking distance and we will definitely be going back soon.

tried this restaurant under various names, this is the best, greeted and seated straight away, unobtrusive conversation, with nadhib (hope i have name right) very helpful. Had poppadoms /pickle tray, big portions, one hot (was warned) 3 others in big portions. main tandori sharing platter (came with exellant naan) had combo potato portion with it £1 and cauli, tats gorgeous/unusual you must try, cauli not needed on dish. plenty for 2, was not busy, so chatted with nadhib like he was a friend, great .total cost with drinks £31 good value. menu varied and very well explained, coming back for a venision dish, next week, highly reco.

Do not order a delivery. We waited and waited, by the time our food arrived it was cold. No refund offered. Very poor customer service.

Really good portion size on all dishes and excellent quality meat! I have been to 20 different indian restaurants and this is now the only one which i'll be using as it completely stands out from the rest. Friendly staff too who you can actually have a conversation with!

A beautiful restaurant with outstanding food and service, thoroughly enjoyed our visit tonight and will definitely be back
