Had a fantastic night food is brilliant we have been a couple of times now same standard every time thay do not rush you on an out staff are really helpful

After visiting this restaurant for over a year and previously leaving a very positive review last year on their FB page I'm sorry to now say that I won't be going back. My husband and I have been enjoying the food here since around March last year and have been back many times. However, the last couple of visits have not been good. A few weeks ago we asked for one of the meals without mushrooms as my husband can't eat them. At first it all seemed fine but when my husband was over halfway through his meal he found bits of finely cut mushroom, very small so he hadn't noticed up until this point but they were there and he had obviously eaten some. We did tell the staff who told the manager and we were told that there had been a mistake and they would sort us out with a free main for my husband on our next visit. Seemed a bit odd that they wouldn't just refund for the meal at that point but we agreed. Luckily my husband wasn't ill but obviously if you ask for something without an ingredient it's for a good reason and carelessness could be serious for some people. We went back with some friends and my mother in law a couple of weeks ago. Upon asking for the bill we asked about the free main for my husband, the gentleman serving us remembered the incident when we asked about it but said he would need to speak to the manager, it wasn't sorted by the time we left so we just paid the full amount. One of my friends really needed to leave as she had started to feel unwell with bad stomach pains. We were meant to go out for drinks afterwards but her and her husband ended up having to go straight home. My mother in law who is 85 and still enjoys a curry was staying with us that night, I heard her several times in the night being violently sick and she told me that she felt poorly and had really bad indigestion. She couldn't eat anything the following day and had indigestion for several days afterwards. My husband also had indigestion which he has never had after eating there before and I had a really upset stomach all day. Our friend rang my husband and said his wife had been poorly and had spent the following day in bed. Clearly there was something linking all of this to where we ate as it was the only common factor. I contacted the restaurant via their FB messenger but it's now been over a week and I have not had any reply whatsoever. I don't leave bad reviews lightly and I have given them a chance to reply before doing so. I'm not sure why 4 out of the 5 of us were ill after eating there, I'm not sure if they have started to use different flavourings or additives of some kind however, it was very unpleasant and they needed to be made aware so that this doesn't happen to anyone else. This on top of the mushroom mix up is just the nail in the coffin, I accept mistakes can happen but it's how you deal with them that can make a difference and I feel that there is now just a lack of customer care at this restaurant. Sadly we won't be going back if this is their attitude and to be honest, we don't want to risk being ill.

Ordered today for the first time and wow !🤩 I’m a little bit fussy as I have to have my chicken abit well done. And it was done perfect not many people do it how I like it!!! Will definitely be ordering again! Also very polite on the phone ! All round very happy 😊

Please tell me what has happened to this place. God damn awful .With the refurbishment expectations was high . I wondered why it wasn't heaving like in the good old days. Had a patia never in my life have I tasted something so vile. That sweet you would have put a diabetic in a coma. Travelled all the way from Derby back to my old haunt I should have saved the diesel money . Sorry but not what i remembered. So disappointed. Didn't eat the food as was grossand no apology as the waiter didn't understand my complaint. Bring back the booths, old chef and decor .No wonder the place was empty.

Simply the best local curry house. Only marked the atmosphere down because it's a quiet night.

Had a lovely chicken tikka balti with a party of 9 was about £22 a head with drinks. Curry was great naan breads were good

Came over to visit my daughter and decided to have a takeaway so ordered from here after reading the reviews When the food arrived it was cold but after travelling all afternoon I was just grateful for some food . The food tasted great tbh but my self and my daughter have now been up most of the night fighting for the toilet ( both ends 🤮💩) . My daughter is now still in bed feeling really bad with her stomach still having cramps and I’m looking forward to a 4 hour trip to get back home (NOT ) . So thanks Bekash for making myself and my daughter ill and ruining our evening together

Starters were excellent, main course was bland with very little chilli

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. We had the set meal for two which was amazing for the price. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

Staff are attentive and service is quick. Staff cannot do enough for you. The food is beautiful and plenty of it. It really is a lovely place to eat and I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again. Very clean environment as well.

If I could leave zero review I would do! We ordered and they sent a keema naan on a vegetarian menu order!! They said on the next order they would send a free one, upon ringing for the next one they said we won’t deliver to you again as you lost us too much money … really?? You send us a keema naan on a veggy menu! Absolute disgrace, was better when Masook had the Bekash! These are not the real, honest Bekash! Avoid!!

My partner and I have been coming to bekash for 10 years and we hadn’t realised it had been taken over, we walked into town and in the restaurant and could see it had been “done up” the whole restaurant feels very clinical now all white. There was us and one other table and the staff were not really interested in us it was like we were a burden being there, we asked after the previous staff members and that’s when they said they had taken over. The food was not flavoursome in my case the spice took over and my partners was bland, I will not be returning.

Been going here for years and years. The quality and price have always been amazingly good. Love it here.

Visited The Bekash recently, and both my wife and I really enjoyed the food, good service, and atmosphere, too.

Arrived on time but had one wrong curry. Called and this was replaced with 30 mins but just the curry no rice, meaning some people had eaten and finished and they had a hot curry but cold rice now. The chicken was also extremely dry and “old” and the masala tasted like a sort of tomato soup. £32 for two curries, rice and popadoms wasn’t cheap and expected better than this. I have had better microwave curries if I’m honest. Would be returning or recommending to anyone.

The food, staff and friendliness were spot on. The decor has had a much needed face-lift and it looks much more modern, it has lost some of it's atmosphere and it felt a little clinical. It won't put us off going as the food is great, just personal preference to the decor.

Good food. But extortionate prices. Charge £20 for a £5 bottle of wine. Will not go again at these prices. Had starters for 2 main course for 2 .One rice between us. 2 beers and bottle of wine. £72. Will not be going again.

Last meal was full of cocconut but tonight Carnt happen lamb phatia don’t have cocconut it’s medium and sweet been having it for alot of years been a custom at bekash for 30yrs but was full of cocconut rang and was told next time ask for no cocconut maybe time to go use another Indian 😩

Loafs better now after the refurb Been a while since I was in here because it went down food wise and looked old. Fab food now, clean looking very smart. I'd reccomend it now. Treat yourself.

Loads nicer now its been done up. The food is back to a good standard too. I reccomend going again if you stopped before. Worth it. But the website needs the set meals taking off. Not available anymore.

Delivery driver rang us and clearly had been told the wrong address and was somewhere else....20 minutes later he still wasn't here so the food would have been cold...rang them and they put the phone down on me

Excellent meal here. The place has changed hands and had a refurb which was well received, nice clean place and the meal was some of the best Indians I have had in a long time. The owner even gave us a lift home! Don't miss this place, and if you have been before but not recently, then give them a try!

Nicely renovated restaurant, food was excellent

Been coming to this establishment for well over 25 years, the old owner had it for 35 years I believe. After reading the menu on the website we decided to revisit, I dont live in Sutton any longer so it was a car journey. Unknowing to me the restaurant had been took over. On arrival gone was the flock wallpaper and dark wood, the new look is modern and vibrant (Well Done) My husband wanted a meat Thali only to be told they dont do it anymore, needless to say their online menu said different. Im a creature of habit so ordered a chicken tikka dry, popadums & pickle, veg rice and a garlic naan. The pickles were disappointing, and the naan had no garlic,my husband had a chicken jalfrezi a pint of Kingfisher at £5.50 ! I had to ask were my side salad and mint yoghurt was for my tikka, the service was lapse, such a shame this restaurant was obviously doing something right to reign 35 years. The bill came to just over £40 was it worth it ? In a nutshell - NO Yours disappointed

Our food was late being delivered. It was cold and extremely tasteless. Really poor quality. We were appalled at the low quality. The worst meal I've ever had.

Absolutely terrible meal. Ordered three lots of chicken. And I think you could have made one lot out of the 3 as the chicken contained in all three portions.was minimal. Contained mostly korma sauce . Looked like it was out of jar. tandoori mixed grill at 10.95 is a rip off . Was filled with a large piece of so-called chicken. Which was more like a carcus than chicken. Also ordered dips for poppadoms which were tasteless. And the food arrived cold..will never be ordering from here again. I could have done better my self.

Excellent take away meal on a busy new years eve.

Just eat menu had no specification of what came with the meal, if you're getting tikka masala you're getting it on it's own and it came with hardly any chicken. The chicken was dry and weirdly hard. it arrived very quickly which is a plus, and the chicken tikka masala was decent but not worth the price. Won't be eating here again.

The service was good and the food was delicious. I had Tikka Paneer and vegetable Tali. Good food, good atmosphere and good company.

First time we have had a takeaway certainly won't be our last. We ordered a meat thali and vegetarian thali. All dishes tasty portion sizes large. Properly one of nicest man breads we've had.

Having used this restaurant takeaway over many years I am sad to say they have declined badly in their quality of food. Had a takeaway (over £20 worth) on 7/12/19 delivered. First of all it was tepid to almost cold. Secondly the saag Bhagi (spinach) was oily and completely bland.nextthe two main dishes were just a mess of chewy meats of lamb and chicken and the sauces you seriously wouldnt give to someone who hadn't eaten in 7 days as even they would reject them. Tasteless and full of oil or ghee it was the most disgusting I had ever had the misfortune to taste. We certainly wont be going back there after pretty much 17 yrs of loyal custom as the last few meals we have had now have declined from average to diabolical. Sincerely disgusted Peter and lorraine

Food was nice until i found a large artery tube within a piece of lamb tika. put me off the food and had to put it in the bin. was so disappointing. Simon

I’ve lost count of the take away meals we’ve had delivered from these guys but tonight’s 27/9/19 was abysmal. End of an era, very sad but won’t go back. Lord knows what’s happened, couldn’t even be bothered to call and complain as we all totally devastated.

This is the best curry that I've had, anywhere. Been many times to Bekash and also to many places around Britain but still rate this the best curry (for me)

The outside and internal decorations may seem a little tired, however the food is most certainly not. Quick service, tasty food...and reasonable portions. First time there with a friend and we will be returning.

Visited for a meal with my parents and wife - first visit in at least five years for the family. Look past the decor and you will find excellent food, great service and cheap prices for food of this quality. My wife is vegan and she was easily taken care of. We ordered pickle tray, curries, rice and naan and had beers and other drinks and it cost less than £70 for all of us. Great value! Would recommend the garlic prawn bhuna and garlic chicken bhuna. Cannot wait to visit again.

Waited 1.55hrs for delivery, told it was on the way then half an hour later it arrived for it to be stone cold, rang up to complain and was told the owner would ring me back, heard nothing, so the customer service is just as bland as there food, definitely avoid this place

This is the first visit my wife & I have had in over 20yrs to this restaurant. As it was a Tuesday evening it was empty, only us two in. I think which is quite normal nowadays. The waiter was friendly & loaned my wife a pair of reading glasses as she had forgot hers. Wasn't rushed in ordering food & it came hot & lovely. Would go back again.

One of the best Indian restaurants we have visited in a long while. Clean and tidy with a very friendly atmosphere and the food was outstanding. Pleasant staff who looked after us very well even tho the place was full.

12 members of the extended Tomkins family sat down for another great meal , no problems and empty plates all-round £148 plus drinks very good value and great if a little rushed service but i have never seen the Bekash so busy !!

Visited today with my daughter. Popadoms tasted like old oil and smelt the same, main meal didn’t look very appetising and tasted even worse, and peshwari naan had no sultanas or almonds and coconut just fell out when we picked it up. Restauraunt cold and depressing. Overall disappointed.

Great staff, lovely food and you get a discount when collecting your order! We have a takeaway from here most weeks.

I do not expect to get better value for money anywhere else this year. Two beers, two starters, two mains and two accompaniments for £26.15, absolute bargain. I’ve paid a lot more for food that wasn’t half as good. Yes they could have better wallpaper and swanky lighting but I went for a curry not an episode of Changing Rooms. Bit of a wait between starters and mains but they were busy. Service was good and for the price you just can’t knock it. Well done, I will be back.

An excellent Indian restaurant, a cross between 1970s booths and modern style. Food always excellent, and staff friendly and helpful, prices are reasonably.

The menu has a wide variety to choose from, nice portion sizes and plenty of taste in the dishes. The venue seems well maintained and the staff were polite and welcoming. Only problem was one of our side dishes was missed both when the food was first brought and then when we mentioned it had been missed but there was no issue, we'd had more than enough food anyway and it was knocked off the bill without hesitation. Would be happy to visit again, thanks for hosting us.

It was like a travel back in time to a 1970s/early 1980s Indian restaurant. Certainly the decor was. The staff were very friendly and the good was good, and certainly very good value.

Estado viniendo aquí durante años, no como un adecuado regular pero cada seis meses o así. Buena comida no nadando en aceite, pan naan delicioso, personal amable, gran ambiente, a medio camino entre las cabinas (recuerda que ellos? Papel de pared) con cromo/grey y luces brillantes. Una muy buena selección de platos inc. para ventiladores algo picante. Recomiendo que pruebes.

Food is crap don't order from here

I was not happy at all and neither was my work colleagues who came out of area to this restaurant. Waste of a trip and waste of our money. Impolite staff and the portions of food were tiny and cold. We ordered for 14 people and each one of us agreed to never return.

First visit for a long time and not disappointed. Brought a family party of 10 and all enjoyed the service and food. Would definitely visit again.
