Just ordered food. The rice was actually the same shape as the cotton would not separate or clamped together Phone them up to complain. He ended up putting the phone down on me. Absolutely disgusting if the manager can have the strength and the mind to call me tomorrow and offer me my money back. I will be happy, but I will never order from there again.

Always amazing food. Best place in Pontypridd for miles and ive tried many places. The chicken tikka kebab is spot on and sauces are maxed with flavour. Only thing that could make this place better for me is if it did deliver. Pick up only but the estimated times given are quite spot on. Will be back again soon!

Ive had saffron takeaway on two occasions now. The food is hot and freshly prepared which are the plus points. The problem is everything seems to be caked in salt. Ive had two different curries and the taste of salt overwhelmed any other flavours in the curry. I gave it the benefit of the doubt first time but its obviously the way they cook their dishes.

Nothing special here to be found, your very average & basic take away. The lamb was too tough in starters & mains & even the salad accompaniment was not cut properly. Cost was very average. Meal overall was tasty but that tough lamb spoilt it for me. I'll not return in a hurry, they don't even deliver which would help them & other customers.

Starters, mains & sides for 4 was over £90. The lamb was chewy. It tasted ok overall but that's as far as i'd say & there are better Indian take away places in/around Pontypridd.

I ordered a take away with yourselves on Wednesday for my husband birthday, we order with you a few times throughout the year for special occasions and have never had any issues with our food until Wednesday. I had chicken tikka masala and there was a funny taste to the sauce and chicken. Which I couldn't eat it. My husband had south Indian chilli chicken but there was no chili in it and very bland tasting. All the dishes were very poor and tasted old, even the popasoms were burnt. We all woke up the following morning with curry belly, something we have never had before with you. We are very disappointed with the quality of your dishes we had and have put us off from ordering again with you as we are worried with what we will receive next time. It's alot of money to pay for something that we cannot eat, we had previously really enjoyed the quality of your ingredients and cooking but this was quite easily one of the worst Indian take aways we ever had

I ordered today for the first time and will be ordering again. I had a cracking chicken vindaloo and the Mrs had a tikka masala with rice and naans. You can see the cooks doing your food. Only downside was we tried to order online but it didn’t work, it was all sorted over the phone.

I used to be a regular but we moved away. Popped in last light for a Naga curry and a paneer tikka jalfrezi. It was always great food, but it looks like they've upped their game again. I'd rate this over the Cinnamon Tree and the Juboraj restaurants and is deffo on par at least with Gateway of India in Rhiwbina, it's very very good quality food. Thinking about it it's significantly cheaper that GOI, so yeah... going elsewhere is simply pointless. Well done.

Firstly our £60+ order was missing 1 starter. The 2 of us found the lamb was tough/chewy. The sauces were as tasty as they should be as was the chicken but these 2 big fails merit a poor rating. It looks clean/tidy in there but i won't be returning in a hurry. We've only eaten from here twice (& i recall the last time wasn't very good either) because they don't deliver but there are better Indian take aways for sure.

Fabulous Indian Takeaway lovely staff and Stunning Food definitely recommend.

It was really easy to use the online ordering system and the food was ready to collect within about 25 minutes. We ordered poppadoms, onion bahajis, vegetable samosa's, a king prawn biryani, butter chicken, pilau rice, chips and peshwari naan for around £30. The food was great value for money, delicious and freshly cooked. The portions were huge and we had plenty of left overs which we ate the next day. I would definitely recommend a visit, especially as it is such great value for money.

I ordered the Tarka Dal, SaaTikka and Naan. It was quick and easy to order online and the food was ready to collect within 20 minutes. All of the food was really tasty (not really creamy or sweet like some takeaway meals are) and it was really good value as well!

What an amazing little place! They are ALWAYS prompt with the orders, and everything is made fresh. They even have an open kitchen so you can see the food being made (which I love). This is by far the best curry in Pontypridd! Since finding this little gem last year, I wouldn't go elsewhere. They are accommodating with allergies (gluten free) and everything tastes incredible. Thank you for everything you do!

I remember writing a review few months ago and I must say I had to again tonight. It was my daughters birthday and we chose Saffron for her birthday meal. When I called they told me the food will be ready within 25 minutes. When I arrived the food was ready to be collected. The food was absolutely delicious. My daughter said it was one of the best meal she had in a while which was a bonus especially on her birthday. I have been a regular in Saffron and I must say I have never been disappointed. Thank you for the amazing meal tonight and making my daughters birthday special.

Well, I'd put down a visit, since it was a quick one. In an out of the door in about 5 secons flat since the server told me to leave, since was ''scaring away the empty establishment and I'm bad for business''. Lol, bad judgment straight off without knowing me. I'm sure that not using your hair net scares people. Never mind, I'll be back...eventually

Phone orders are very quick, and the food is fantastic. Staff are very friendly and the menu is very well organised. Well worth a visit! (Oh, order a side of chips with whatever you get - the chips are amazing!)

Excellent meal but had to wait 15 mins to be cooked. But they do have everything fresh so can only be a good thing. The chips ere home made cut chips very crispy

Being a vegan, ordering out is a lot more difficult for me. However, this takeaway went the extra mile for me. The staff at the front went through all the items that will be suitable for me which I really appreciated. The food was full of flavour and was absolutely amazing. The whole experience was lovely and once again I thank the staff for being attentive and willing to help me with all my queries.

I ordered an Indian takeaway from Saffron tonight. Can honestly say it is one of the best meals I’ve had in a very long time. I ordered the Lamb Pathia and my wife ordered the Chicken Tikka Massala and both of the dishes had so much flavour in it. I was also impress with the service we received as our food was ready to collect within the estimated time given. Not always a person who writes reviews but I thought I had to on this occasion. We have never had a bad Indian takeaway from here. We ordered by phone and picked it up a short time later.. The staff are very friendly and the food was magnificent.. A family member is lactose intolerant so choosing and Indian takeaway is challenging, but here they are fantastic..

My absolute favourite Indian takeaway. I recommend the Chicken garlic chilli massala or the chicken tikka biriyani. And the naan breads are to die for!

Had our first takeaway from Saffron last night. I don't normally leave reviews but on this occasion I felt I needed to. Ordered via their website and the food was ready to collect within 20 minutes. We live around 5 - 10 minutes from Pontypridd but when my husband got home with the food it was still piping hot. Flavoursome dishes, not at all oily and excellent quality meat. The whole family agreed that it was the best Indian takeaway we have ever had and we will continue to order form Saffron in the future. Added bonus - nice staff :-)

The food is really excellent, but what makes this place is the attention to non-standard diets. They seem to get veganism and are more than willing to adapt dishes to suit. Highly recommended.

We decided to try Saffron back around May/June time, and we’ve had food from there every Friday since! My dad has always loved cooked Indian curries, and has spent years learning and teaching himself. He absolutely loves saffron, as do we all! The food is always of the highest standard, so tasty and the right amount of heat for separate dishes. We haven’t had one bad thing to say in months of eating from here, the staff are always friendly and welcoming and happy to help with anything. There’s not a lot on the menu that we haven’t tried between us, every curry is different, you can really taste the different spices in every dish. We are never waiting longer than what we’re told, We recommend to anyone that we can! Thank you saffron for such amazing service - compliments to the chef! (And the whole team)

Ordered a curry for me and my partner and it was wicked I find myself craving a nice tikka masala and you guys hit the spot it was sweet , kinda different to others more bland yours was sweet I liked it enough to want to come on here and write this give the chef my regards it was the best tikka masala I've ever had!

Fantastic Indian!! Always the first place we think of when we fancy a curry. The staff are brilliant and friendly! Best curry in Pontypridd by far! Try the kebab trays if your not looking for a big meal. (Naan bread wrapped around chicken tikka masala or curry of your choice if you ask the guys! Comes with a little salad and mint sauce.)

Casa curry local mejor 💯 comida es una tontería en mi opinión. Soy un cliente frecuente. Sr. Ceri Curry es el pináculo para mí. Servicio de atención al cliente es en el punto y todos los platos llevan mucho sabor.

Conseguimos algunos poppadoms, pollo tandoori, naan y algunos de arroz. Toda la comida estaba bien preparada y me pareció que el servicio de atención al cliente era estupendo. Sin duda el fin de nuevo si estoy de regreso en la ciudad.

Had takeaway from this place twice, 1st meal was bland and tasteless..gave them another try a few months later...equally as bad. Ordered a madras, really not quite sure what I ended up with, it didn't have have any texture or spice.

This is my favourite Indian take away in Pontypridd, if they delivered it would actually be the only Take Away in Pontypridd that I would (currently) use. Freshness is the key word here.The staff are always very friendly and are happy to suggest and tweak dishes for personal preference.However, it's great to pop in order the food wait in The Llanover for a pint or two and receive a TXT message when it's ready :)

Food here is at a high standard, one of the best I have ever had in Pontypridd. Collection based only takeaway with a small waiting time and an open plan kitchen. From what I can see the kitchen looks really clean which puts me at ease. Watching the chef cook the meal is a plus point and adds to the Indian takeaway experience. Collection only takeaway which has its system set up perfectly. The process in this takeaway is so simple and effective. You simply order your food, they will tell you how long it will be and then you go and pick up your fresh hot food. Normally waiting time is between 15-30 min max depending on how busy it is, even on a Saturday night which is amazing. We order regularly from here and never had an issue with it. You can also see the food being prepared In Front of you which is unique because I haven't seen any other Indian takeaway with the same concept. Honestly even if the waiting time was an hour I would still wait because I rather have a good quality food than a rushed one. Give this a try and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Keep up the amazing work guys

Found myself in Pontypridd for the evening and a friend recommended Saffron to me...turned out to be a great choice!I ordered Poppadoms, Chicken Biryani and Tandoori Chicken. Food was served quickly and stayed warm in the takeaway box, i.e. didn't need warming up when I got back. You could tell all the food was cooked well and the meat was of pretty decent quality for a takeaway place.Tandoori Chicken was definitely the highlight. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

After a busy day, decided on indian meal, not are regular take away.Ordered a Korma kebab, When I opened it at home, it was a sloppy tasteless mess, covering a equally tasteless chewy nann bread :/ No chunks of chicken, no salad. it was disgusting. We rang Saffron not for a replacement meal or refund, they were not interested, so well used to complaints. We wil l go elsewhere in future.

Had a meal which I had frozen for a couple of months from here tonite..lovely..unlike the meal I had on Friday..same meat but it was awfully.tough to the point of inedible..anyone else had this experience from here.sad really as we use this place now and then.

I wonder whether this place has been taken over? Gone are the celebratory newspaper clippings from the wall, I didn't recognise any staff and the uniform was different. Having been taken over would certainly chime with the standard this time. Although the food was nice, the order was 20 minutes late, 2 out of 5 dishes included the wrong meat, and the meat portions seemed smaller than before. Time to find a different takeaway methinks.

My husband & I have been regular customers of Saffron for a few years now, and are continually impressed by the quality of their food. Coming from the North of England, my husband has long running experience of Indian cuisine and is difficult to impress; he has never had a meal from Saffron that hasn't met his exacting expectations, and they are always ready to customise a dish to someone's taste. I'm the boring one that always orders a Chicken Tikka Masala, but it's always full of flavour. I will admit that you will never have a dish that tastes exactly the same 2 times running as the taste will vary due to the chef who has cooked the meal that evening, but to me, that proves that the food is freshly prepared every time.

Always look forward to a Saffron takeaway. Good portion sizes too. Would recommend the mixed grill. Have been here loads of times and never had a bad meal.

Very tasty meal, the food is cooked perfectly and is clearly of a high quality compared to other Indian take aways. It may cost a bit more than other places, but it's well worth it. Food is fresh and the spices are unbelievable. Pay the extra, eat quality.

Have had takeaway Indians from Saffron a few times now and have always been pleased. The portions are a good size and the food all very tasty. Service is friendly and the kitchen always looks clean from what I can see. The only downside is it's a little bit more pricey than other Indians, but the quality of the food justifies this!

I used to love this place, the food was fresh amazing and plenty full, the service always top notch and attentive. Now however on my last few visits the food is just smothered in oil and tastes like something they would serve up in a weatherspoons on a bad day. The service has suffered as well (i think this is due to a change of staff) on my last two visits they forgot to add cans of coke to the order but charged me anyway and on my last visit when i went to collect the missing cans the chief just looked at me stupid and said wait there 2 minutes with a rather impatient tone. I waited only to be waved at from a distance and told to take my own cans from the fridge. Think i will give this place a miss for a good 6 months and see how it does.

Good food and excellent value for money as I find the portion sizes are easily big enough to share. Just wish they delivered.

Visited by saffron indian lots of times and always enjoyed the food. Visited today and the food Tasted awful. My chapatti tasted oily. Chicken in currys was dry and the massala sauce left a funny taste. The mint sauce had past its useby date (not labelled but being a chef I know when things aren't how they should be) over all very didisappointed. Wont rush back...

Visited Ponty over the weekend. The Saffron was recommended, so we thought we'd give it a try. I had a Bengal Shai Chicken madras hot. Lovely dish which is cooked with minced lamb, onions and spice. My daughters chicken tikka starter was a big portion with good quality chicken chunks. The onions seemed to have minced garlic and ginger - mmmmm. Very nice dish and very good for a takeaway. I had a sag aloo side which again was far bigger in size than normal and was spot on quality. Even the mushroom rice portions were bigger than usual.I'm looking forward to returning to Ponty soon - just to have another Saffron meal!

I ordered:Flamin' Goan Chicken: Had a good gentle heat, lots of flavour and great texture, chicken on the dry side but the sauce was very tasty.Pilau Rice: Great colourful rice cooked just right.Jalfrezi: Lived up to it's 2 chilli rating, quite hot, good for those who can handle it, personally I found it too hot but wouldn't have ordered a 2 chilli meal for that reason! However it did have a nice taste, like a hotter, more "grown up" version of a tikka massala.Keema Garlic Naan- A Bit soggy but possibly due to the garlic paste, but tasty enough and made with what seemed like kebab meat.I will be returning next time I fancy Indian food, the phone handler was friendly and the value for money was okay. I will only buy from here as a treat rather than when feeling lazy as it is slightly expensive. Could do with offering a student discount or *get free rice with 2 mains*- some offer of sorts as none currently exists.
