The very best Indian Restaurant in the area. Great food, top class staff and easy parking. June 2021 Update: The food is better than ever, and the friendly, professional service, is unparalleled. Xmas 22 - the quality continues and the staff excel. August '23 - thoroughly enjoyed our group meal for 10 people. The Spice Ambassador is still the benchmark for quality Indian food. March 24 Update - premium quality food and service, as always. August 24 - Always excellent plus if the restaurant is not too busy, they will cook a unique dish, to your specifications. Nov. 24 - Tuesday evening and not too busy, thus we were able to go "off menu", with individual dishes prepared to the taste of each of us - even better than usual. A fantastic meal and a great evening.

We are regulars here now for a while. It’s the best Indian anywhere, the lemon chilli masala is our favourite but everything is so tasty we have tried a lot and nothing that’s not nice. The service cannot be faulted at all on any occasion we’ve been. 10/10 as a genuine review!

We only found this lovely Indian restaurant because the film we wanted to watch was only on at the showcase cinema. Excellent food, lovely service. I think we will venture the 40 minutes to come back.

As always, this is the place to go for curry! Just had a takeaway for 6. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and there was clean plates all round. Brilliant prices and good portion sizes, only half hour from order to pick too well worth the travel if you are outside the catchment area for delivery.

Visited Spice Ambassador tonight on the off chance, there were 4 of us and we were celebrating a birthday. The food was fantastic, so was the service, very friendly and welcoming will definitely be visiting again and we highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys excellent food and a friendly atmosphere!

Reasonably priced and the staff are super friendly and nice. Food tastes absolutely banging as well. Highly recomended

My family were at a concert in Ainon Church, Tongwynlais and in the interval we were served with meat and vegetable curries with saffron rice from the local Spice Ambassador Indian Restaurant.. There were over 100 people being served. It all came heated up and I have to say that I have never had such tasty Indian food. Not having been to their restaurant in Taffswell based on this meal I shall be booking to go there very soon. Full marks to them all.

Always a fabulous welcome by Sam, Milad & Hal. Food is fabulous & very tasty. We've been lots of times & working our way through the menu. Worth asking if they have any specials on too.

The best Indian food I have ever had

Ordered chilli garlic chicken and the sauce was like water, we also ordered a tikka masala and it was so sweet we couldn't eat it also over priced and when we complained they said that that's what it is supposed to be like. I'm 45 and had Currys every weekend since I was 16 I have never tasted anything so awful from a takeaway.

One of the best Indian/Bangladeshi restaurants I've been to for a long time. Very friendly welcome on entry. Menu has the 'standards’ on it but also has a good set of special and unusual dishes. They're described well and are well worth trying out. Staff were knowledgeable and attentive without being in your face. On a Saturday night, the restaurant was almost full by 7pm, so phoning to reserve a table makes good sense. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The quality was excellent and the portion sizes were generous. Food was really tasty - nothing was left at the end of the meal,, always a good sign!

We’d been an infrequent visitor for a number of years but recently noticed a significant drop in quality all around, it went from being our favourite to one of the lower quality options for us. Have found on recent visit: - Curries much more watery - Chips stale - Much smaller Naan size - Flat fizzy drinks (using older opened bottles) - Popadoms less fresh tasting - Less flavour & more sugar in some dishes (Korma & Pasanda) - starters smaller & lower quality Yet the prices are much higher than they used to be (understandably). It’s a real shame. When a member of our party tried to give feedback the Chef was rather defensive at our table, which made everyone else uncomfortable. Would recommend the extra cost of Purple Popadom in Canton.

The best Indian in Wales by far. I can't rate this place high enough. Deserves more than 5 stars. The service is beyond amazing.

Had a lovely family meal here and was blown away with how good it was. Very tasty, reasonably priced and the staff were fantastic. Very welcoming and friendly. Will be back. Some really good signature dishes too if you’re bored with the old traditional dishes!

Fantastic Indian! We had the chicken tikka masala to share and it was out of this world. All of the sides were also extremely fresh. On top of that, the service was one of the best I’ve ever experienced, so smiley and friendly! We can’t wait to go back.

We booked this restaurant last minute and they managed to squeeze us in. When we got there we was greeted by friendly staff. I asked for advice regarding a dairy allergy on the menu and couldn’t fault the food that was advised. Can’t wait to come back. Only regret was that I ate too much to have dessert.

We have been visiting The Spice Ambassador for almost 2 years. Mallard, Hal, Sam, and the staff are lovely people. food is fab. Great atmosphere. Probably the best restaurant for miles around.

Myself and my partner are especially difficult, vegetation, downright snobs with impossible standards and unfairly unrealistic expectations that can’t be happy unless the TV volume is on our specific desired setting. We have just moved a stones throw away from the spice ambassador and feel like we’ve hit the jackpot. Classic British Indian done exceptionally well. Only had takeaways so far but they’ve been consistently fantastic. Can’t wait to visit the dining room 👍

Absolutely superb. One of the best currys I've ever had.....cannot recommend highly enough and the staff are great.

The food is always amazing! Their lamb is the most tender. My go to is the lamb Pathia and it’s my favourite. The service is good and price is reasonable.

I can't say enough about this restaurant. I have sat in the restaurant a number of times over the past year. While the place needs a bit of refurb it is clean and cosy and the food makes up for it. Everything we order is always fresh and delicious. The table service is commendable all the staff are super friendly and simply can't do enough for you. The price is also extremely good in consideration of everything. I also order a take away from them when I don't feel like going out and its always nice

Returned here after 6 years, the last time I wasn't fussed but to be fair they were closing, tonight's food was fantastic. Best tasting madras I've has in a very long time. A piping hot and fresh. Superb

This place is absolutely fantastic. I am vegan and I have never tasted a better vegan curry in my life. They are the most friendly, accommodating currey house and I would never order from anywhere else. The portion sizes are massive as well. You won't be disappointed or be left hungry!!

They've really thought about making their takeaway covid-safe, which is great. Food's lovely, some really nice dishes, mid-week menu is a bargain.
