Jamil Indian Restaurant in Rhondda Cynon Taf

Fabulous restaurant. A warm welcome on arrival (waiter even opened the door for us!), staff very friendly but not overbearing. The food was delicious and portion sizes are very generous. Can recommend the mixed kebab starter and the chicken makhani! Will definitely be back again.

Just had my first takeaway from Jamils and all I can say is that it didn't disappoint. All food was very tasty, however I have now realised that the supermarket jalfrezi are mild compared to an authentic Indian one.... My mouth is on fire but it was worth it. Would highly recommend this restaurant

Regular customers and will not be returning sadly I can't believe how much the standards have dropped why are you letting customers enter the Restaurant in work clothes and tracksuits ! Hygiene ? We come here on banquet night and the food was awful and it's always pretty good not this time around we always take some home but not on this occasion we just wanted to leave and go elsewhere to be honest Chips rock hard dry Bombay potatoes rice like it got cooked last night And the naan bread a smallest slice of keema meat I've ever seen So disappointed it's turned out like this we've been coming here for year's

I wownt be ordering from here again. I ordered the first time , and i could taste lentils in the chicken curry, very strong taste , but i thought they use a recipe with lentils so not too bad. ordred again and this time chicken curry with chicken peices but i can 100% taste lamb in the sauce ( i stopped eating lamb years ago , and i can smell and taste it 🤢) chicken chat smelled horrible and stinked rotten . I threw away all the order. So now i can assume ( pretty sure) they mix left overs for take away orders. That's how lentils was in the curry sauce.and that's how lamb was in the chicken curry. Horrible 😞 i would never order from here ever again. Pay to eat a mixture of someone elses leftovers . Disgusting

Lovely staff and a lovely place to stop for an Indian. The portions are generous, so you definitely won't go hungry!

I've been a regular of Jamil restaurant since 2017. I moved to West Wales from the area in 2019. On my return to the area end of 2022 I couldn't wait to have another Jamil curry! The food was still excellent, and the owner and staff just as awesome, it was like I'd never been away! Great, friendly service, and fantastic food that's very affordable! I'd highly recommend!

The onion Bhajis were super overcooked, as was the chicken in our curries. Naan was oily and the sauce was just okay. Disappointing.

Horrible food. Full of food colour. Everything tasted the same. No sauce included with the grill. Extra portion of chutney was 5 pounds. Rip off. Did I say the food was horrible?

We found this restaurant after our actual booking got cancelled by another restaurant. We are not sure earlier how it qould be but i guess we hav we made correct choice, staff were so welcoming, food was amazing, interior was good as well. I am glad that we went there.... thank you for amazing food and service.

First time visiting here 21st Feb and definitely won't be the last. Service was fantastic, staff were very attentive, polite and friendly. Food was delicious and very good portion sizes. We were a group of 8 all together, 5 adults and 3 children out for a birthday meal. We took a birthday cake and after we had finished our meals the staff brought the cake out singing "Happy Birthday" Prices were good we had starters, mains and dessert bottle of wine, few pints of cider, cokes for the kids and a glass of rose cost was under £200 👍👍Thank you to all the staff we had a lovely evening.

First time ever we ordered a takeaway from this popular restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and was delivered hot. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone.Well done to the chef.

The food was nice but if I was to have one criticism it would be that it was a bit to sweet. The waiter's were very respectful lovely infact, the restaurant is very well decorated and has parking right outside. Cut back a little bit on the sugar and it will be 5 🌟

Im sorry to have to say this. But a few of us become ill 2 days after eaten here. My stomache was in bits. I had to leave my patients and come home on the friday as felt awfull. 3 others in the party had the same problem. Not good. I wont eat Indian food again now.

Had the worst dine in experience with rude customer service and no communication within them self and no food instructions followed after them suggesting the food. Never go for this place wastage of 40 pounds

Hubby and I went to eat here last night for the first time and wow were we impressed. The food was amazing, the service was excellent and so welcoming. I have eaten out in the past to many restaurants and this was by far the best meal out I've ever had. We will definitely be visiting this restaurants again and I would recommend Jamil indian restaurant to anyone. I actually can't wait to come back. We were so full up on stunning food that we couldn't manage a desert, but I do have my eye on the one I want for next time. Excellent place x

Probably the best tasting Indian I've had locally. Really fresh and good quality ingredients. Three of us had chicken dishes and all commented on how well cooked the meat was. One of us had a veggie Dhansak that was out of this world! Portions were a sensible size and everything was well presented. Service was really good and not too in your face as some places can be. Will be back for sure!

Ordered a takeaway. Had a nice glass of wine whilst waiting. Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Took a long time for the food to arrive, would pre order next time. Food was good.

Really lovely service, popped in here on a whim after looking through a bunch of Indian restaurants, found great parking. Service was polite and fast, simple menu but was really happy to see some home comfort dishes like nihari on the menu. Everything was amazing and cooked well, food was served piping hot. Asked for whole green chillis and yoghurt and was given exactly what i asked for. Really pleasant experience will definitely return! Sidenote the desserts were so damn good. No rosewater in the kulfi (i hate rose water), and quite a good selection!

Incredibly tasty good, reasonably priced and very generous portions. I've never dined in the restaurant but the deliveries are fairly quick. I highly recommend Jamil.

I placed an order online before 10pm and recieved a confirmation. I waited over an hour and then called up wondering where my food was, only to be told they had closed and I wouldn't receive my order. As I stressed how inconvient it was that I only found out I wouldn't be receiving my food once everywhere else was closed, they suggested I went to a kebab place instead. Very disappointed and hungry :(

Placed an order before 10pm that was confirmed via email to wait an hour and 30 minutes then to call up and be told our order hasn't been made and they are now closed.

Ordered a couple of curry’s, starters and poppadoms. The curry’s were watery and tasteless, with the chicken being rubbery. The prawn starter dish tasted rancid but the poppadoms were okay, not going back there again.

Very nice food really tasty and stayed hot all the way to Newport... We will be back for more ☺️😋

Fantastic food and great service. Ordered a lockdown takeaway for birthday for 5. Everyone enjoyed there meal. Shami kebab is one of the best I’ve ever had so flavoursome and cooked to perfection.

Disappointed with the meal this evening. Was aware 40/60 minutes delivery but arrived 60minutes and everything was lukewarm and the chips were cold and must have been cooked first. Will not be ordering again.

Just enjoyed another amazing takeaway meal from Jamil. Every time, the food is absolutely top notch in taste and quality. I highly recommend them.

Family made an order over the phone at 7pm due to arrive at 8:30pm. Order had not arrived at 9:15pm so we rang and the person on the phone could not remember us ordering. Person rang back to say they still couldn't find a record, very unhelpful. This is awful service.

We recently purchased the tandoori mixed grill (lamb, chicken, prawns and sheek kebab), chips, meat samosas and keema rice. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. Once the order was placed the food was ready for collection within 20 minutes. The staff were very attentive and we will definitely be having another takeaway very soon.

Food was great, the service not so! In their defence it was very busy however, having your order abruptly taken and rushed as soon as you sat down wasn't the best experience.

Went on a half price day and honestly was so pleasantly surprised in comparison to other restaurants during the eat out scheme. Of course like every other restaurant they had a maximum stay and was very busy but this did not affect their excellent customer service or the quality of food. Always recommend this place.

Visited on Wednesday 26th August 2020 had a table booked for 7pm for 5 people. We had to wait about 15 mins as the previous party hadn’t quite finished with the table. The restaurant had no social distancing and the restaurant was completely full to capacity with every table rammed full. There were no tables removed from the restaurant it was exactly how it was before lockdown with no signs on any of the tables that they were out of use. The staff were pleasant and we order our meals which consisted of a starter and then the main course. The starter finally arrived after a 45 mins wait. We finished our starters and our main meal arrived whilst all the dirty plates were still on the table. We were told to keep our cutlery for our main meal but by this time we had started to clear the starter dishes ourselves and had mixed up the cutlery we refused as we didn’t know who had used what and requested clean ones for hygiene reasons.We had our main course and in all fairness the food was extremely good. The waiter came over to ask if we had finished and could he clear the table when all of a sudden the manager came up to the table and told us he needed our table and basically we had to leave. We were not offered if we wished to have dessert and had to rush to pay the bill and give up the table. I totally understand that due to Covid they have to give a time slot but they should be making sure that they are serving customers more quickly to ensure that there is enough time to eat your food and not to be rushed out through the door.I have been to Jamil On a number of occasions and always enjoyed but felt on this particular visit they really let themselves down. They didn’t care about social distancing And people’s safety and were only concerned about profit and getting as many people through their door as possible. I think that there will be a few people that will feel the same about this particular night at Jamil

Where do I begin? We had booked a table for 8pm for four people. Upon turning up at the restaurant we were greeted by masses of people hanging around the entrance of the restaurant and inside by the bar.Instantly this made me fearful as there was NO social distancing in place, this was like a cattle market.I went to the bar and gave the man my name and informed him that we had a table booked for 8pm. His response was 'Yes yes we'll fit you in'......ummm, sorry? No, we should have had a table waiting as we had booked it. It shouldn't have been a case of 'fitting us in'. It soon became apparent what was going on. All of these people who had presumably booked were now all just waiting in a first come first served queue. At this point I looked around and immediately wanted to leave. I was extremely fearful and anxious due to the lack of social distancing. Not only had no tables been removed, every table was full to deal with capacity. Everyone was being squashed in and this meant that people were far too close to one another. The restaurant was incredibly hot and muggy - no windows were open, which is ridiculous considering they rammed so many people in AND given that covid is still very real. It was completely unhealthy, and god forbid anyone did have covid in that building, everyone would have caught it due to the humidity and lack of circulating air.I wanted to leave but my family insisted on staying as they did not want to cause a scene. I reluctantly stayed, and was seated at around 8.30pm. They had taken in so many customers and were turning tables over so quickly that they were unable to deal with the customers they already had, their only concern was to get more people in. We received our starter at 10.10 and didn't leave until 11.05 - and this was by cutting our meal short and missing out on the dessert due to how late it was. Completely unacceptable considering we arrived at 8pm for a table which had been 'booked'.The manager at this premises was more concerned in getting people in and turning over a profit - completely disgusting behaviour in these times where people's safety should be number 1 priority. Each member of staff were given either visors or masks to wear...and none of them were wearing them correctly. The masks were down off their face and hanging around their chin, and the ones wearing visors were pushed up and not covering their face. I used to love visiting this restaurant, but after today's experience and their sheer greed at profiting at the cost of other's safety, I will never visit this establishment again.

We had a brilliant delivery. I must admit our order was slightly not right due to miscommunication both ends but I must admit the best curry we have had. We ordered the green masala curry which was beautiful (not hot enough for me but my fault), the starters, rice, nan bread with poppadoms and dips were excellent. We will be a returning customer as you guys were brilliant, I cannot recommend you guys enough, keep up the great job and awesome curry’s in this hard time. Mr Williams x

Ordered on Saturday evening during lockdown so it took 2.5 hours to arrive. But they threw in a bottle of coke for the delay. When it arrived, the naan bread was missing. But they delivered one within 5 minutes. Problems arise with this period we’re in, so judge how they fix a problem, not the problem itself. Excellent service and delicious food! Will be ordering again.

The fantastic thing with Jamil is that we can collect a consistently great family meal for a celebration, and never be disappointed. It is worth spending the money and pushing the boat out when you know every dish will be stunning and different. If the restaurant could possibly be open for lunches on a daily basis, I think I would be in heaven.

Went on Wednesday 12th of February 2020 and wow the food is amazing the portion size are massive and the service is brilliant. We will 100% be back and will recommend anyone to go and try it! We definitely will be back.
