Saffron in East Riding of Yorkshire

We have been several times over the years, as we sited our caravan nearby. Always been great. Pickle tray tasty and pickles. The mixed started very nice. Main courses always good too. The sauces like butter and tikka masala are on the sweet side. Great service, friendly staff, clean and tasty food. Plenty of free parking outside. Recommend

Our 1st visit to the Saffron on the 25th August, service brilliant and the quality of the food was very good, we will be back.

So I ordered a chicken korma the only thing I will eat from Indian take away, it arrived after 45 mins sat down started dipping my narn into my korma and tasted it I thought eww what's that funny taste few more dips and 2 bites of chicken I thought this ain't right! Got my partner to try it and it tasted like how baby sick smells, surly they haven't given me a tray of off sour milky tasting korma but they did after I payed 40 quid for my hole order witch wasn't anything special, early hours of the morning I had several visit to the toilet and belly ache NEVER WILL I GO BK, I remember last time I had one from here was years before and found little black hairs in my rice, I thought it had changed since but obviously not, bit crap when your limited to Indian take aways in brid...... Pay and eat at your own risk. I repeat I will not ever go bk to this food establishment!!! Hit and miss

We stayed at Primrose Valley for the weekend & traveled into Bridlington for something to eat, we ended up going to Saffron with low expectations due to coming from Bradford & we have a lot of good curry houses here. But the curry was beautiful & full of flavour - I would definitely recommend.

We travelled from Cambridge and came to our first Indian meal at Saffron. Needless to say, this was the best and most authentic Indian meal we had! I was more impressed to see they had a kids menu, which is not often found in many Indian restaurants. Both our children thoroughly enjoyed the food, as well as the approachable and friendly waiters Saif, Steven and Yusuf. Their warm and welcoming service made our evening even more pleasant. The quality of the food was absolutely amazing and the atmosphere was lovely, too! We had a handi chicken, garlic chilli chicken, Bombay Aloo, mushroom fried rice and the chicken nuggets plus fries from the kids menu. It is worth every penny, and the wonderful staff make the visit worthwhile.

Really amazing food went in while i was kn holiday with my family when no where else was open. The food was great and i he service was friendly and fast. Great restraint and fairly good value for money 100% recommend

I fetch med a take away for myself and my wife for the first night of our recent break in Bridlington. Having no knowledge of any Indian Restaurants in Bridlington. We looked on line and people recommended Saffron. Very disappointed. The owners and Chefs refused to add more garlic to a dish. It’s not their right to do this, I was the customer, I was eating it, our local Indian restaurant have no hesitation in accepting our requests. The food was just about ok but one thing for certain we would never go back and don’t recommend it to anyone

I went to this restaurant on a trip with friends and really enjoyed it. There's a great bubbly water tank as you go in and we sat by it and took pictures with it. The room was nice and big and I remember all the food being great too. The waiter was very polite and would bend over backwards doing what was asked. Afterwards I went back to the caravan to do some wrestling and watch jiggly. Lovely food lovely evening. Amen

Staying in Bridlington for a few days. Ordered over the phone. The food was ready in 20 minutes. Really good. Had Poppadoms and dips. Lamb chops. Special saffron curry and chilli garlic chicken. Absolutely no complaints. Pleasant staff. Thanks

We walked from the centre of bridlington to eat here. A 20 minute walk, but it was so worthwhile. The staff are friendly and helpful. I had the safron special which was delicious, a keema naan ....light and fluffy, again delicious. My partner had a vindaloo with a garlic chilli naan, he again said he couldn't fault it. The meal was very reasonably priced too, will definitely visit the restaurant again, and highly recommend it.

We called in after a day at Beverley races and the staff were very helpful in fitting us in despite us not having a reservation and them being busy (in the restaurant and with takeaways) The waiting staff were all very polite and attentive , and the food was beautiful , piping hot and super fresh . We were even given assistance getting back to our accommodation which was really going above and beyond . If you are after a top notch curry in Bridlington then don’t hesitate to go to Saffron - if I could give it more stars I would !

Called after a day out in Bridlington Great choice Food was delicious staff were very friendly the restaurant was very pleasant We have had curries in various towns/cities and countries and we can honestly say it was one of the best. Highly recommended

This place was highly recommended so we thought we would give it a try. The sheek kabab was wonderful as were the onion bajis. However the Saffron Special was disappointing as too mild and strange cuts of lamb possible from another dish? The staff were great but being a Monday evening, we were the only ones in except for those collecting take-aways.

Excellent food and service. The curry was so good and the lamb was cooked to perfection, a must try is the lemon rice 🍚 The service was brilliant. Friendly helpful staff.

First visit to Saffron and definitely won’t be our last! As one of our party is a wheelchair user, it is worth noting this place is very definitely accessible. We found parking just outside the restaurant with the blue badge . Food arrived, hot as in temperature. It amaze me how food can be cooked to order and yet still arrive at table Luke warm but not here. The food was fresh and plentiful and soooo tasty. The staff are little treasures, friendly, helpful and funny. Thank you. See you soon.

Cannot recommend enough, the food was fantastic and the service was above and beyond helping us get to and from the venue.

Out for a belated birthday meal, restaurant was very accommodating when we turned up with extra diners, we had our own dining area, food and service was excellent, definitely one to return to.

Nice place very friendly , slight problem with mains rice was warm not hot and Nan bread was raw in places but informed staff and rice was heated . They did take money off the bill for the Nan bread so can’t complain to much apart from that the rest of the food was hot and tasty and staff was welcoming

While having a holiday in Flamborough this november Bridlington we found an absolute diamond of a indian restraunt which was large and very very smart, the food was out of this world. Best indian food i've eaten in 41 years. We were treated first class and we returned a few time in the week. THANK YOU MUNA AND ALL YOUR STAFF AND THE SHEFS. WE WILL SEE YOU ALL AGAIN SOON !!! My wife and I have been regular patrons of Saffron for several years, celebrating wedding anniversaries, birthdays and any other occassion we can muster up to find a reason to visit our favourite restaurant. All of the staff are welcoming and pleasant, smartly dressed and a pleasure to chat with, helpfully offering recommendations and catering for any dietary requirements. At this point we have probably tried every item on the menu several times and I can not think of anything we have not enjoyed with voracious enthusiasm. There are so many tasty starters and side dishes to enjoy and I particularly love the Onion Bhaji's. The Handi Bhuna and Murghi Masala are both excelent main courses full of flavour with an excelent gravy that is unquestionably the best Bridlington has to offer. A big thank you to Abs, Muna, Stephen and all at Saffron for making our dining experiences so delicious and enjoyable. See you all next week!

Have used this restaurant for years,always good food, however I got a takeaway for 10 people, half of my order was missing, food,was tasteless and cold, I had to ring for the rest if my order, family meal was ruined, will never go back,disgusting service...

We visited here under the "Eat Out to Help Out Scheme" So like everywhere else it was very busy. They didn't disappoint, we enjoyed the food and the service was acceptable considering what pressure they were under.

Chicken tikka madras chicken tikka masala 2 pilau rice garlic naan and garlic and chilli naan everything was gorgeous and thoroughly enjoyed it we even received poppadoms and dips thank you for a lovely take away empty plates all round

Absolutely fantastic food! Never have a problem when we come here. The service is always outstanding! One guy in particular named Mo I believe? Was so lovely! Made us feel really welcome, had a laugh with us and asked how our meal was and took a genuine interest rather than asking because he had to! He is a credit to the team! They are all fantastic staff members! Highly recommend it! The food is always beautiful and tastes amazing. Never had a bad word to say about the place. Keep up the great work! :)

Good curry & attentive service. All had vegetarian meals & enjoyed them - but if you like it spicy, recommend specifiying a bit hotter than described. Onion bhajis nice but very little spice. Veg Pathia Balti main course was excellent. Only slight negative was the saag paneer side dish - unlike any saag paneer I've ever had - very odd - white & bright green sauce with cubes of paneer in it. Not for me I'm afraid. All in all a good experience.

We have eaten in the restaurant and had a takeaway. We have found it to be the best curry in Brid compared to the others we have tried and the standard of service for both is very high. Certainly the hottest Madras I have eaten in ages. It's a shame that the starters don't come with a little raita as they were quite dry and the naan bread isn't great. They need to bring these up to the standard of the curry.

We went for a meal here with my sister and her husband. And the service was first class, socially distanced tables hand sanitizer available all staff were seen with gloves on. Very nice friendly staff. The curries in this Indian have got to be the best I’ve tasted. You have to try the “haandi Buhna” the flavours of this curry is lovely. There chicken breast is lovely and soft and you can tell it’s been slowly cooked so tender and juicy. I actually said to the waiter how nice the chicken was in the dishes and he said he gets it in locally sourced so that was so nice to hear. Not just a piece of hard chicken breast that’s been cooked from frozen. Really enjoyed our meal here would definitely return soon!

Just had an amazing last minute meal. Phoned at 5.30pm and a very nice gentleman on the phone and off got me a table for 8.30pm. Could not fault anything about the evening, everyone did very well handling the covid restrictions that are in place, it was every relaxed and you would not know restrictions are in place. Four of us ate here on a Friday night and had a really enjoyable meal. Service was swift and friendly and the menu had more than the average Indian restaurant. Two of us had ‘home style’ dishes (often cooked for the staff according to the menu) and they were superb. Portions were generous. Breads were light and airy. Loved the honesty too - one of us wanted a coffee at the end of the meal but the owner advised against it, saying he didn’t have a coffee machine anymore and instant coffee just wouldn’t cut it. We loved that! Great value, delicious meal. Thoroughly recommend!

We had an exceptional meal here. The place was packed to the rafters with Rishi’s meal deal. We came in late and the staff looked harassed but they provided us with first class service. As usual my wife asked for her favourite dish making ( keema buhna) which wasn’t on the menu. This was not a problem and when it came it was spot on. I had a mixed tandoori which was fresh and high quality. Couldn’t fault the place or the staff. Excellent meal in pleasant surroundings. Give this place a go if you like authentic Indian food.

My wife and I dine at Saffron each time we visit Bridlington. Both the food and service are excellent. We had dinner at Saffron on Monday evening and again, were not disappointed and on this occasion, we were overwhelmed with the kindness of the staff, who went out of their way to help us getting home when our taxi was delayed. Always a pleasure to dine here.

We ordered takeaway. Flavours are good but the food is floating in a sea of oil, way too much! Also, they're not exactly cheap.

This restaurant is very allergy aware. Every single dish is clearly marked on the menu with the details of any allergens. It made ordering vegan food incredibly easy. We were the only people in the restaurant and the service and food were great. It’s obviously clean as they have a 4* rating on scores on the doors.I would definitely recommend this restaurant and go there again.

Great meal last night, 2 pints of excellent draught Kingfisher, nice poppadom and chutneys, then chicken pathia with lemon rice and a perfect garlic naan - all for the bargain price of £24.15 I'll definitely go back if I visit Bridlington again

Nipped in for a meal with the husband last night sataday 10/8/19 but was so so busy so desided to go home and order husband had chicken tikka vindaloo i had chicken korma we had pilau rice garlic naan and onion bharjis was absolutley beautiful hubby said vindaloo was full of flavour and tasty thanks for fab meal

Have recently found this restaurant and tried it twice recently. We have tried most of the other Indian restaurants in Bridlington and we consider this to be the best. Parking straight outside. Food is good and price is reasonable. The restaurant has a large seating capacity so you can get a table easily. I would recommend.

Decided to go without booking on a Saturday night and as with most restaurants, 3 of us were greeted with “have you booked”, which we hadn’t but could see there were plenty of empty tables, I was told they would try their best to find a table, to which I replied”it’s ok, we’ll go somewhere else”, to which we were promptly shown to a table!! It’s a game!We decided not to bother with starters and just have 3 poppadoms and a pickle tray, which were very nice.Onto the main courses and they were very good, I had the Lamb handi Bhuna, which had plenty of big chunks of tender lamb and a thick sauce, my wife had Lamb Karachi Masala, again, lovely pieces of tender lamb in a tasty sauce. My daughter had the Goan Mach Shobji, big chunks of white fish, along with vegetables in a curry sauce. All three dishes were really tasty and good quality!None of us bother with nan breads, rice or chips, we prefer eating curries the traditional way with chappatis and with our fingers, it’s the only way, so we were extremely disappointed with the quality of the chappatis, they were dry and crumbly and if I’m not wrong, reminded me of the packets of whole meal chappatis that are available in most supermarkets?? I do wish restaurants would really make an effort with making fresh chappatis, it’s not hard and really does make a curry for us!!All in all, a very nice curry, shame about the chappatis!Along with 6 halves of Kingfisher lager, came to just over £50, so not a bad deal!

This used to be our go to restaurants for all occasions until we moved to the other end of town. We went on Sunday as it was a special dinner before my son in laws deployment. The service from the moment we walked in was very poor. We were often ignored and it took a while to get the attention of the staff.The cutlery was dirty and although it was replaced straight away our drinks order was also wrong.The main meal was delicious. It really was lovely.The dessert fell short. The mango ice-cream should be avoided at all costs, the profiteroles were still frozen and my daughters ice-cream (that comes in a wee plastic penguin) dropped on the floor and smashed yet it was still served to her. There was broken bits of plastic in her ice-cream and I returned it to the bar. Apparently it was the last one and they gave us a sundae for her free of charge instead.We couldn't wait to leave.I'm so disappointed as I have always recommended this restaurant to people who have visited Brid and sincerely hope they haven't suffered the same experience as we have.

We visited the saffron on a quiet Monday having read other reviews and we were not disappointed. We chose the mixed platter starter for 2 and everything was very tasty and hot. For mains my wife chose the saffron special balti and I had lamb haandi bhuna. Both dishes were equally delicious with just the right amount of spice. The waiters were very friendly and knowledgeable. Our bill came to less than £40 which also included 2 beers. I would thoroughly recommend the saffron for a good meal in very nice surroundings.

Went here on 21/4/19 bank holiday weekend seven of us and this place is bad the curry tasted really bland as if there wasnt any spices in it and my wife ordered a lamb curry but I think the sheep must of had sex with a cow cause it was beef the starters were very poor only nice thing was the garlic nan,the waiter was a joke he even stood there as we was leaving expecting a tip after I told him it was poor.dont waste your money

We have lived in Bridlington for 18 months but only visited Saffron for the first time last week. Lovely restaurant & nice staff. Had a lovely fish curry. All the starters, naan & side dishes were great. Can highly recommend. We will definitely be visiting here again soon.

Its somewhere we had never visited before we were treated like royalty from the minute we arrived till we left we were swifty shown to our table (we had pre booked ) we took a while to order as we couldn't decide the menu is vast great choice when the food arrived we were not disappointed its was fantastic we had starter main and sweet and all was great we paid and as we left the door was opened for us keep up the good work we will definitely be returning very soon

Rude waiter we were talking to him to order our meals and he didn’t speak or interact in any way just looked at us wrote down what we ordered and walked off.Once we go to our main course it was very bland food, we had asked if mine could be made more spicy as I like quite hot and spicy food but was told they wouldn’t do this we were extremely disappointed and won’t be visiting again!

Having gone to Saffron for years and never trying the banquet meal for two we decided to venture into pastures new, what a good choice.

Ordered a take out from here - Just a Lamb balti, which cam with rice and Naan of your choice. I chose Pilau rice, and Garlic naan.

My partner and I went here on Saturday night. We had to wait 15 mins for a table, as we had not booked and it was worth the wait! The food was exceptionally tasty; I had the Lamb Shaslik and it came out sizzling on a hot plate with onions, peppers and tomatoes. My partner had a King Prawn Balti. Both meals were delicious and came in decent size portions, so we shared a Garlic Naan bread and Pilau Rice.

Walked in and enquired about a table for two. Lodas of atbles empty. The reponse, once some one actually bothered to acknowledge us, 'probably not'. So we went t the Indian Palace up the road and had a pleasant meal.

Went last night and the staff and food were exactly what we have come to expect. We come up to our friends caravan 6 or 7 times a year and always go to Saffron (sometimes more than once!). It was outstanding as usual. Had 3 chefs specials including a new one called Patilla Bhalti which was superb. The whole family look forward to our evenings at Saffron. We went in on the recommendation of the barber next door.The decor was lovely, the staff were pleasant and attentive, and the whole atmosphere NICE ! The food was beautifully prepared and the portions generous, and delicious. Do not miss this place!!!

We had a variety of dishes on our visit and each one was absolutely delicious, the choice they offer is wonderful there is something for everyone and all the staff are brilliant, warm and friendly in particular our waiter by the name of muna was very attentive. We will definitely be here again trying something new.
