Food was perfect. Just right amount of spices. Flavour best I have had for a long while. Delivery on time and the driver had to negotiate the campsite we were staying on. Thank you for an amazing takeaway delivered to our campsite.

Great menu choice, never had a problem with the quality and service.

Thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and ordered again a week later. But ended up waiting 2 hours and after two phone calls of chasing, cancelled the order. Unfortunately couldn’t leave feedback for that order as the app won’t let you after you cancel an order. Would not recommend

Went with friends to eat in the restaurant rather than have a takeaway. Pleasantly surprised as the restaurant is tucked away near Bradford's builders merchants. Service was good and staff very attentive. Food was lovely hot and tasty. Leftovers were packed up for us to take home and enjoy. Menu is very extensive and would certainly cater for everyone. Would certainly visit again and highly recommend it if in the area.

Cold food. If you’re going to deliver to Lyme Regis, make sure it’s extra wrapped up. Food was also dry and obviously had been hanging around before delivery. Never again.

Pakora & Bhaji inedible, meal 4 1 missing popadoms. All chicken items were also inedible (dry) No dips for sides. Lukewarm by time delivered and overall poor quality. Samosas & rice ok. Lamb sagwalla was ok too. Overall very disappointing & the majority was put in the bin. WHAT A SHAME 🫤

Really disappointed after spending £100 combined for a birthday meal and requesting delivery at 7pm. The order arrived 2 hours later after two phone calls chasing. We order usually from another establishment on a regular basis, it’s a shame safar let us down as could be regular orders of high value.

Worst food for asian community who looks for authentic desi food. We ordered chiken and paneer curry and it was sweet in taste even though we explicitly told to make it spicy. No doubt good taste for white people.

Ironically, Safar means "journey" in Hindi, but in English, it felt more like “Suffer.” Both the Paneer Butter Masala and Chicken Tikka Balti were bizarrely sweet – it genuinely seemed like someone swapped the salt with sugar. The result? Dishes that tasted like dessert experiments gone wrong. This is not how Indian food is meant to taste. Authentic Indian flavors are all about the perfect blend of spices, not an accidental sugar rush. If you're looking for the real deal, Safar might not be your destination.

order two puddings from here from safari Indian restaurant in Axminster and they forgot them called up and asked about them and they said that will send the driver back out to redeliver and no one showed wouldn't normally complain but that was £12 in total I have lost

Ordered 2 different curry's, both tasty, no issues with these, we also ordered the tandoori king prawn and were horrified when it arrived, 15 quid for 4 prawns, nothing else. Rediculous money.

Never had a experience like this as our order took nearly 3 hours to get! Lady was on the phone lied as she said I put the order to be delivered by 7.45 and I didn’t! Made 3 phone calls to get the delivery going. No excuses and keep saying will send it within 15mins!! Very poor service. When the food arrive it was not so great as we ordered a special fried rice which had eggs and its shell pieces! Really wasn’t worth the wait at all. Disappointed with it.

Ordered a Chicken Korma 10/10 Chiken Tikla 10/10 Onion Bargi 10/10 poppadoms fresh are so much better than shop bought 10/10 Cheesy Garlic Naans were 200/10 and the Triple Chocolate Brownie 10/10 honestly never a bad experience with Safar. Delivery was quick and the delivery driver was the best such a great guy. 10/10 will happily order again sometime!

Brilliant night. Ordered the meal for two. The management was kind enough to change the chicken ceylon to a chicken bhuna. The food was cooked to perfection, and there was more than enough for two people. The staff we're really nice and polite, they came to the table a number of times to ask how the meal was etc, and walked us to the door once we had finished our meal. I would definitely recommend this place. Well done Guys!!

Original post: August 2024 Food was great, always is. We always order on the app and the delivery is so, so slow. We’ve just waited 2 hours for delivery (from 6:40 to 8:40 on a Sunday night). Whenever we order it’s always taken at least 90 minutes. Edit in January 2025: just ordered again, 5 months later. Delivery took an hour and a half. Only delivered when I chased it up…sort it out guys!

We were stranded at the station and decided to pop in here for some food. Our meal was outstanding but the service was truly what blew us away. Chris and his family, who run the establishment, are wonderful hosts and fantastic cooks. We can’t recommend them enough!

Food delivered an hour and 10 minuites late and arrived cold. Customer service was shocking after being lied to with the where about of the order. Had to ring several times

6.00pm Ordered a chicken masala chips and egg fried rice. Was told l had to have poppadoms (did not want them) to make up minimum order charges. Order did not arrive to 740pm no chicken masala only chips poppadoms egg fried rice and pilau rice. (Strange). Phoned to sort out order, was told l would have to pay for further chicken masala. When chicken masala arrived it was lukewarm at best and did not arrive till 8.00pm Total cost for one person delivered meal approx £30. We have been using Safar for approx 4 years. This was a total disgrace and we will no longer using Safar for our takeaways

Ordered via the food van takeaway at local campsite. Appalling service was told 10 mins but took 45 mins+ food was OK but overpriced & they did not have a system in place to cope with orders.

Without doubt the worst Tandoori mixed grill (or Indian meal for that matter) I’ve ever had. Very poor quality meat, very small amount, no onions or peppers whatsoever and also the most expensive I’ve ever had. The naan bread was OK.

Just had a meal from their van at Monkton Wyld caravan site. Worst Indian I've ever had. Looked more like soup than curry. Chicken was boiled and honestly tasted like it's been washed. Chips and rice weren't cooked as well, definitely. Best thing to come out of it was 4 tupawares for the caravan, not bad for 36 quid. Will update if I have the runs tomorrow.

Poor experience from end to end.. food was reasonable, luke warm due to the delays. Poor customer experience and blamed it on volume, don’t accept orders if you cannot fulfill them in a timely fashion. Certainly wouldn’t be ordering again.

Ordered for takeaway/delivery. Ordered at 8:30, finally received it at 22:45...chips were cold, stater was missing, and the driver couldn't find our house.

This place is terrible, I ordered my food and it came 2 and a half hours later. The chips were stale and it looked like my popadom was half eaten. The order was messed up in multiple ways such as the wrong things in the burger and being given the wrong sorbet. Never ordering from here again. Absolutely atrocious.

Having enjoyed delicious hot food promptly delivered this time, last night, we were very disappointed. Our order took 2 hours to be delivered, 40 minutes past the most recent promised delivery update. Food was missing from our order yet we were not refunded for this, although the receipt was amended so where is our money?

Food order got accepted at 5.41pm arrived at 7.36pm nearly two hours. Then it arrived looked in the bag and was missing the chicken korma. Yes they did go and get one and bring it back however it doesn’t taste right. It’s a bit sour. The butter chicken dish was lovely. But just a waste of money when it’s not been eaten.

wrong items received. We paid for a sizzler and received 6 small pieces which resembled a starter. The sizzler was a whopping £11!

A most enjoyable meal. A great menu to choose from, all served by friendly attentive staff. We would definitely call again if we’re in the area.

never had a better naan bread ANYWHERE! Thick, doughy and full of cheese. Tikka exceptional, sauce right consistency, rice perfectly seasoned and flavoured

Had the opportunity (read only option) to visit suffer. The place is nestled close to the train station. Went there with a group of kids and family. Be prepared for long wait times to get your food when the food arrived, kids were absolutely taken back with the taste and the spices. The only item they loved on the menu was their yoghurt. The food and service needs improvements beyond leaps and bounds. Ambience was the only saving grace but we go to places for the food primary which is a huge disappointment.

1 hour late phoned up half hour late to be told its out for delivery so waited another half hour outside . When got here food was lovely and very hot so don't believe it was out for delivery when I phoned and our poppadoms were all smashed up .

Delivery between 22:20-22:40 came just before 23:00 Drinks order was incorrect - ordered 2 appetisers got 1 lemon Fanta and 1 apple tango Hot dogs came with no buns
