We were a big party having a leaving do for one of our colleagues. We wanted to watch the World Cup (USA v England), which they accommodated immediately. The food is exceptional along a road with many Lebanese/Arabic food, this is by far one of the best Turkish/Iranian restaurants, with the kindest staff. Great atmosphere and warm welcome every time we go there. We cannot say how fantastic this place is.Every starter was amazing. Well worth the money. They catered to pescatarians, vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters so we could all eat together comfortably.

Had a lovely meal here on Saturday night. Cosy atmosphere, great service and delicious food. We had the mixed grill set menu, which included hot and cold hors d' oeuvres, followed by a mixed grill, served with delicious rice and salad. Excellent value for money compared to the other similar restaurants in the area. Highly recommended.

My husband and I have been regular visitors to the Slemani restaurant next door to Safa for several years. Sadly, it seems that Slemani has now closed down, so we tried this one. Never again! We chose a selection of hot snacks and 2 turkish coffees. Each individual dish was priced at £5.00, we ordered 4 of them. The bill when it came consisted of two parts, the bottom handwritten figure stated £42.50 (??). My husband queried that and was immediately told, ok, sorry, it should've have been £32.50, and this is how much we paid, but you see, it shouldn't have been £32.50 either, it should have been about £25.00 at the most. Very unpleasant bitter aftertaste as a result. We felt like being taken for gullible tourist idiots, as 99% of the customers seem to know the owners and each other. Food quality was average. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. Turkish coffee was particularly muddy.

Till this day i am not even sure what i ate! We came for a lunch and chose set menu for £11.50 per person but ended up paying £50 for two, the only extras we ordered were bread and a soft drink - so i dont know where they got £50 bill from and it was hand written! As i said im not even sure what the kofte was made of - meat or chicken. It wasn't good. And defenetly not worth the money. You can find much better food for much less money in Egdware road.

Service welcoming, I had emailed the day before to book and they were expecting us. Waiters charming and efficient. We had small mixed mezze to start with fresh hot bread, my tip is to eat the bread while still hot and soft as it goes crispy after a few minutes - still delicious but hot is best. Then Iranian style lamb stews, one shebzi with green herbs and the other with potatoes and tomato, plus 2 grilled minced lamb kebab. We all shared and each dish was tasty. As it was a hot afternoon the doors and windows were opened right back which gave a lovely atmosphere. Several ladies there dining alone so it's a good sign that they feel comfortable. We finished with mint tea. All good food and reasonable prices.

We went here for lunch before a business meeting and were pleasantly greeted by the host who took our visit as a personal visit to his own house, wanting to be sure that we knew what we were ordering (we were) and happy to offer his suggestions when we asked. We ordered a mixed starter plate, three vegetarian dishes, one of which was a vegetable stew, and a plate of kebabs; everything was served with a basket of fresh and warm pitas. We highly recommend Safa for its food and its hospitality.

Since our hotel was very near this location having lunch seemed a very good idea. We had lunch here in the past but never reviewed as I didn't get the name so this is based on two visits rather than one. The same waited who is extremely polite helped us both times and even though it was quite awhile ago he recalled us which is always nice. The potato and lamb stew is the one I really enjoy and we had humus and a freshly made pita as a starter a nice light wine was available and also enjoyed by U.S. This makes for a pleasant lunch and the food is very nice and reasonable. thanks for a a wonderful second visit really enjoyed it recommend and will return.

Choosing to eat at Safa because it was busy (which usually means a place is good), we ordered a starter and main. After waiting a fair while we received our starters which in fairness were pretty tasty. During the starter our main arrived and the waiter seemed confused when we said we weren't ready for them. Then when we had finished we waited almost half an hour for someone to clear our table and then another 15 mins to bring our main. My friend ordered a vegetarian dish and they brought out a meat dish. Again, seemed confused to why the meat was an issue. Sent back and brought out a vegetarian dish. During eating my friend found chicken in the dish! We told the waiter who, wordlessly, took the plate. We then sat there for another half an hour waiting for someone to clear my meal. Then we waited longer to receive the bill; we requested the 'vegetarian meal' removed from the bill as refused to pay. When we presented a credit card they told us their card machine didn't work. This wasn't communicated before the meal. Thankfully we had enough cash between us. During this whole time no one even spoke to us; not even an apology at the end. Serving meat in a vegetarian dish is completely unacceptable and service was overalls pretty horrific. Wouldn't recommend dining here.

This place is located near the Marriott at Marble Arch. We loved it for its nice blend of flavors and friendly service. We went three times during our stay in the area. Some of the more typical English food can be rather bland, so go the route of the more ethnic restaurants. we're sure you would like the offering here. Even the rose water glacee for dessert was off the beaten path and a nice treat.

Food ok- we tried Safa rather than our usual Middle Eastern restaurants around the area as they are one of the few serving lcohol and wanted to have a wine with dinner. Service was average, most of food was ok- shared nice starters, I ordered Shish Taouk as a main which was very nice but my partner's chicken dish was so dry we ended up just sharing mine. The price of food (excluding wine) though not expensive was still more than other restaurants nearby.

Our family have been going to SAFA for many years and it is always a pleasure. Safa doesn't pretend to be the smartest palce in town but the food is always well prepared and presented with some of its stews right up there with the best in Middle East cooking. The staff are a really nice bunch; friendly and attentive. Add to that the blended smells of food and the shisha hookahs and it's like being abroad. No family visit from Scotland to London would be the same without a trip to Safa.

There is more than one Safa in London. This one is not far from Marble Arch and 1 min walk away from the nearby Marriott Hotel. We were very please with everything about the restaurant. Service was prompt and courteous. The food was excellent and tasty. We had one Mixed grill meal and it was great. I would not hesitate to order the selection of hot or cold hor d'oeuvers again! We also enjoyed the Adana Kabab diner. The staff also brought us a sample of sweets. I would go again if not for wanting to try so many other places on a short stay here in London! If you are in the neighborhood give it a go And I think you will enjoy it too

Please try the authentic aromatic Iranian dishes on offer at Safa as they are absolutely exquisite... I've tried all the Edgware Road restaurants over time, but Safa is rather better than their rivals... The meal was freshly prepared, arrived piping hot and wonderfully fragrant ...rose water, saffron as stipulated on the menu and generous portion sizes were well worth the very reasonable prices... Perhaps, Safa could augment their charming service by providing more ambience music...Looking forward to trying their entire menu over time!!

Safa is situated in a little plaza (Nutford Place), barely noticeable from busy Edgware Road. Large glass windows allow patrons to have nice views of the activities outside. The ambience is comfortable and relaxing; the service attentive but not intrusive. We enjoyed all the dishes turned out by the Iranian and Turkish chefs: platters of char-grilled Lamb, Chicken, Sea Bass, several hot appetizers, with Tandoor bread and Basmati rice. The quantity is quite reasonable for the price. We opted for a bottle of Turkish Red among a selection of wines from France, Italy, etc. (Average price is around 20 GBP, or 5 GBP by the glass). Overall, we rate this restaurant a very good choice for quality Middle Eastern food.
