Sabor in City of London, Westminster

Got there around 20/25 minutes before opening time. And a small number of people gathered under the canopy with a buzz of excitement from those that had a window view of the chefs peeping the food. Had not booked so was sat at the counter although the front of house did say they could make space for 2 upstairs. But that will now be for the next time we are back! Once sat the waiting staff come from behind the counter to have a little chat to you about the menu and drinks, explained the specials on the chalk board above. Very friendly and made to feel welcomed. We ordered the •Pan Tomate, Cecina - lovely and fresh tomato’s on a tasted bread with a little meat. Just a perfect little way to start off. •Hand dived scallops - this was sliced thinly along with small diced but which was set in a sautéed mushrooms with a home dashi broth, it was that good I only had one bit due to my wife eating the rest. Again the flavours just come together. •Txistorra tortilla - simple but just something special. •40 day aged ribeye with tximiturri and this was excellent, melted in the mouth with that tasted a the coal fires. All while the oiled juices built up on the bottom of the plate ( just tip that all over once you’ve served yourself ) All in all very very very good lunch which I’d without a doubt be back to sit downstairs however I think upstairs will be needed to eaten in also!!

We had a wonderful experience with a welcoming service and a great atmosphere, the food has consistency in quality and a high standard throughout. We were lucky to get the best table, as it is tucked in a quieter corner. We had 3 waiters assisting us in the Asador during our meal, and they all added to the experience in their own way. Thank you to David for their great attentiveness and care for detail, to Raul for a lovely smile and personality, and to Joaquin for their humor and fun approach to service. La ubicación es muy céntrica, a pasos de Regent Street, y lo encontré de casualidad mientras paseaba en mi día de shopping. Recomiendo sentarse en la barra, donde se puede ver de cerca el trabajo de los cocineros y disfrutar de un ambiente más dinámico. Asador Sabor en Londres ofrece una experiencia única dentro del mundo de los restaurantes galardonados con estrella Michelin. Su ambiente relajado y su enfoque en la cocina tradicional española lo diferencian de otros lugares con el mismo reconocimiento. Las entradas son espectaculares, destacando el pulpo a la gallega y los chorizos a la sidra. En cambio, los platos fuertes podrían mejorar, ya que servir el Lemon Sole entero, con espinas, no es la mejor decisión para una experiencia fluida. Los postres son un gran acierto, y la degustación de turrones es altamente recomendable. Además, la selección de vinos y la hospitalidad elevan aún más la experiencia. Un reconocimiento especial para Raúl, un excelente anfitrión en la barra, quien realmente hace la diferencia con su atención.

Experiencia de primera clase en nuestra primera visita a este restaurante bullicioso, amable y de clase alta con un ambiente fantástico, escondido en un rincón tranquilo de la calle Heddon. Muy ocupado para un servicio los miércoles a la hora del almuerzo, pero esto no resta atención y servicio personal. Platos muy bien preparados, ingredientes de buena calidad y una carta de vinos muy fina española. Destacaron los pequeños platos para compartir; Monkfish Tempura (tan ligero como las nubes con un ponzoñoso chile mayo) , Pudín Negro y Salchicha con pimiento rojo - ambos deliciosos.

Cola de 11 . 30 am para entrar, como se busca asiento de mostrador para la experiencia gastronómica vale la pena. Sentado por el chef en el número 18 , también gran elección un miembro del personal pronto estaba revisando cada plato en la pizarra diaria y sus méritos. Tomó un consejo de la pareja encantadora que estaba sentado al lado y se deshizo del hielo en el Sangria, que era delicioso y fuertes matices de raíz de vainilla. Sobre la comida y la presentación inmaculada por el chef mientras observaba su talento y talento. De lejos disfruto mejor de la bola de setas y trufas con un sabor cremoso a setas. Las langostinas están vivas para comenzar luego cocinadas y presentadas con una miga de avellana tan buena. Me di cuenta de que la merluza grande se agotó inmediatamente, así que probé la porción más pequeña que en su salsa de mantequilla también era una cocción excepcional y vi al chef mientras giraba la mano para hacer la salsa más intensa antes de presentármela, fabuloso. Para terminar tomé un helado de trufa que tenía avellanas, así como un excelente final dulce aquí.

Sabor never fails to serve delicious food in a cool, comfortable environment, with awesome staff. David, our waiter was fantastic - super knowledgeable and friendly. Everything on the menu is wonderful but don’t forget to order the monkfish tempura! Will definitely be back!

Experiencia maravillosa y un trato magnífico. Tenía ganas de conocer el restaurante y no me ha defraudado en absoluto. Un 10 para Nieves. Volveré.

Tan altas expectativas y algún lugar que hemos querido visitar durante siglos. Por suerte nos sentamos en el mostrador. Sin embargo, la carta de Tapas era muy limitada y el camarero recomendaba dos platos que eran prácticamente idénticos. Mi esposa es española, de Galicia y estaba muy decepcionada con la comida. Muy caro, pero supongo que es un restaurante con estrella Michelin en el corazón de Londres. No me importa pagar un buen dinero por una excelente comida, pero esto fue una mala relación calidad-precio. Mi verdadera queja fue la inclusión de un 14. 5 %, cargo por servicio ya que creo que todos los cargos por servicio deben ganarse y no simplemente incluirse en la factura.

Más allá de lo esperado. Nos resultó imposible elegir un plato favorito, ya que todas y cada una de las tapas, principales o desiertos eran excepcionales. La experiencia en el alsador se vio reforzada por el servicio verdaderamente excelente de todos los miembros del equipo, siendo David particularmente excelente recomendando vinos a cada plato pedido. Todavía puedo recordar los sabores de las croquetas de gambas, y el cochinillo con patatas fue muy memorable. También he comido abajo, que con un menú regional diferente, ofrece una gran variedad de experiencias bajo un mismo techo.

El restaurante ofrece dos plantas de comida española, con comida del sur de España en la planta baja y comida del norte de España en la planta superior. Probamos las "tapas sugeridas", pero la más interesante fue la "oreja de cerdo crujiente". Orejas de cerdo fritas crujientes servidas con alioli. Para el plato fuerte degustamos el Cochinillo de Segovia, un lechón de no más de 45 días de edad. Un manjar.

Comida increíble, el pulpo y el cochinillo se destacaron. La comida y el servicio eran buenos. Es muy caro, pero el verdadero negativo para nosotros, era que las mesas son pequeñas tan difícil de encajar todo en, y están tan cerca uno se siente como si estuviera cenando con la gente en la mesa de al lado, no todo el ambiente para una comida tan cara, o una comida de celebración (como fue el caso para nosotros). Estábamos en el restaurante de arriba.

Mi pareja y yo nos encantó nuestra experiencia en Sabor. La comida fue sobresaliente, especialmente la paletilla de melón y la empanadilla de cerdo. El personal es excelente también, David era particularmente atento. Nos explicó el menú claramente y nos hizo sentir como en casa. Gracias David y gracias Sabor.

We had visited the restaurant a year ago and in comparison now the prices are much higher and the size portions even smaller. For example you get only one pepper if you order ,grill peppers’, the slices of the seared tuna were so think you can see through them, the same applies to the tomato slices in the tomato tuna salad, both dishes priced at £16/£17. If you are going to charge insane prices for small tapas dishes at least have the decency to provide sufficient quantity. We left the restaurant disappointed.

We visited Sabor (upstairs restaurant) for the first time for our son’s 18th birthday lunch. The food was exquisite with a huge variety of dishes including octopus, prawn croquettes, tomato salad, divine sea bass and perfect cooked steak. The service was also excellent with very friendly, welcoming staff who made the special visit all the more memorable. We will definitely return!

Had a dinner date at the Counter. As it's first come, first served, we had to wait approx. 15 minutes before we were seated, but this was well managed. Once seated, we were quickly served. They recommend 2 dishes pp, so we went for the monkfish, octopus, oxtail and sweetbreads. Every dish was amazing, especially the octopus with the mojo rojo sauce. The service was also very helpful, and the atmosphere was incredible as you watched the chefs cook. Although this means it was a bit loud, I recommend the upstairs part if you are looking for a quiet, more intimate affair. Although the entire experience was amazing and delicious, the bill came to £110 inc service for one course with one cocktail. If you've got the money and regularly go to these sorts of restaurants, it is definitely worth it. However, if this is your one-off extravagance of the year, I'm not sure; I feel there are restaurants that do just as good food at a better price point with a more luxurious "experience".

Locale molto carino a pochi passi dalla fermata della metro di Oxford Circus. Cucina spagnola di altissima qualità. Abbiamo aspettato circa un’ora il posto per mangiare ma ne è valsa veramente la pena. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

Sabor is an absolute 10/10 dining experience. The food is incredible and the service was excellent- huge thanks to Raul!! What a guy. The oxtail sandwich, empanadas and the croquettes were incredible and so delicious. Highly highly recommend

Food was amazing. However the restaurant was extremely busy. It was not a problem for me but the staff gave me the impression that they were exhausted. Hope things have got better now.

10 out of 10. We sat up stairs and had an amazing view of the chefs art at work. It is also just beautifully decorated and so easy on the eye. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, and the food was incredible! One of the best parts of our trip to London.

Sabor is beautiful and authentic and I loved the food but didn't love the quite aggressive upselling of everything we ordered. It spoilt the experience a bit to be honest but the food really is excellent so if you are prepared for the service style hopefully you'll enjoy your visit a bit more!

This place is small but the food packs a punch full of wonderful flavors. I had the pulpo (octopus) and the quarter of the Suckling Pig. The pulpo was incredibly tender, probably the most tender octopus I've ever had (including from destinations such as Japan and Donostia / San Sebastian). While the suckling pig had a very crispy skin and succulent meat, perfect for sharing. The quarter pig should feed about 2-3 adults. The food was a bit pricy but you should try it at least once because the food is very much worth it. I'd highly recommend reservations for this place as it is limited seating and space.

The food is delicious and superior to most tapas and the restaurant clearly had a very strong reputation. In a fairly busy pre Easter period our party of three were placed in a tiny corner area literally eating off a narrow shelf not a table nowhere near big enough and the experience felt rushed and uncomfortable. The portions are incredibly small and when sharing with tapas as everyone does you come away still hungry . Admittedly we walked straight up without booking but three very small shared courses each and one shared bottle of wine was just over £100 not the special occasion that the place promises if you don’t have a comfortable space.

One of the best restaurants in London. The food was exceptional and the staff was super friendly and helpful with the menu. The atmosphere was very nice and warm. It would be better if you made an reservation before your visit cause there are not a lot of tables but there is a chance that you might find something without one.

Service was excellent beginning with the host who was able to find us a spot really quick and then Laura and Jose Luis made our night unforgettable!!! Their service and dedication are above everything. Food is amazing, great cocktails as well

Been coming here for a couple years and the attention each member of staff give to customers makes you feel you're among friends just like in the first time I came here. It still has the best rice I've ever had and on top of that I get to see the chefs cooking in front of me, which for someone who loves cooking like myself is a big bonus. I want to single out Pedro at the reception and Nicole who was serving us that night for the outstanding service, you can see they enjoy providing a great service and for a Michelin-star restaurant where sometimes being nice is a bit forced, this is truly a gem for me at all levels. Nicole was so kind to go and get me a glass of another wine at the end of service for me to taste and order the next time. Love you guys, will keep coming back!

This is the best place to go for lunch I visited with my daughters and we had an exceptional meal all bits of tapas served with a smile great sangria and wine I can’t wait to visit again all the staff are so lovely this visit made my stay in London complete !!!!

The food was spectacular and we really thought we travelled to Spain for one evening, classic dishes include croquetas, pulpo and roasted suckling pig. Celebrated my birthday at El Asador in Sabor, expecting a Michelin-star experience. Unfortunately, our visit left much to be desired. We felt like mere numbers, seated at an inconvenient corner table en route to the toilets. The food, while decent, lacked the extraordinary touch one anticipates from such establishments. Surprisingly, they didn't inquire about the birthday celebrant and, when presenting the dessert, handed it to the wrong person, resulting in an awkward moment. The rushed conclusion was the final blow—asked to leave immediately for table turnover. Regrettably, this experience falls short of Michelin standards, and I won't be returning.

Un excellent restaurant à tapas. Les produits sont frais, le service agréable et les prix raisonnables. Une mention spéciale pour l’excellent cochon de lait cuit 3 heures dans un four à bois, un délice !

"I would like to note that as well as the food, which was delicious, the service we received from Nathalie (?, pretty sure that is her name, lovely Colombian waitress) was exemplary!...She explained the menu and answered our questions with a smile and great patience. Sadly excellent service is quite rare these days hence when it happens, it deserves to be noted. It was our first visit and hopefully not our last.

This was our 2nd visit to Sabor a Michelin * restaurant off Regent St in London. They do not take bookings downstairs so you need to be prepared to queue a little or take a chance. We dined mid week and had no problem getting in. Everything we ate was first class with quality ingredients and an open plan kitchen to watch the theatre. The downstairs counter menu is a selection of small plates (tapas). The standout for me was the black rice with monkfish. We had a selection of plates an aperitif each + a decent bottle of white Rioja. Service is friendly and professional. Any gripes - maybe a lack of carbs - though this is minor. I rarely give 5 stars - on this occasion faultless. The damage £100 each.
