There was more seasoning on my receipt than the food. Very basic and underwhelming. Nice staff but you can't eat the staff.

We're a family of Sardinians, and it tastes like home. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The restaurant is very elegant and the staff is very friendly. We will definitely come back again.

Expected SO much more. The tapas was bland, didn’t taste fresh and not up to standard at all! I used to visit Sabatinis years ago and it was top notch but I was sadly disappointed. There’s so much better competition in Newcastle and I really think Sabas need to up their game! The prawn skewers were the size of my thumb and had zero flavouring. The Italian sausage and meetballs just didn’t have a lot of taste and we all thought the same so it wasn’t just me. The beef was lovely though and the potato skins. I can’t comment on the rest of the menu as we all had tapas but sadly won’t be returning. Really gutted as I had been looking forward to this for weeks. Hope we were just a one off but the restaurant was pretty empty to. Sorry to have to write a negative review but I wish someone had of told me not to bother.

It’s a 600 mile round trip for us to visit Sabas but worth every yard of the journey Our family live in the North East and every time we visit them we go to Sabas. Yesterday was our Grandson birthday and he chose Sabas as it’s his favourite restaurant they made a fuss of him and made him feel very special Yet again great food great staff great value Thanks guys

Great dining experience, live music in the bar area, buzzing atmosphere in the smart restaurant area.We opted for quite a few things from the excellent Italian Tapas selection and couldn’t have been happier.Great food, great service.We had a particular girl, Fabiana, providing efficient service but so entertaining, literally crazy and enthusiastic, definitely 5 stars.

This was our first try at a bottomless brunch and were lucky enough to book here. The food was awesome, great choice, obviously freshly made and served as and when required. The meatballs were to die for.Staff were exceptional, very friendly, professional and attentive.Many thanks to all and hope to be back soon. Would highly recommend in a heartbeat.

Fantastic restaurant, the food & drinks were great and we really enjoyed these Italian ‘tapas.’ There was a wide selection of food on the menu to choose from, from pizza to Italian street food bites. The portions were ok sized however a bit expensive for what you get, nevertheless it was still delicious! Also, the staff were lovely & so attentive. If you like Italian food, you should definitely try this place out!!

Been twice to Saba’s this month, relaxed and more enjoyable atmosphere. New menu has just enough to satisfy most. Enjoyed the garlic bread with mozzarella and tomato as starters, linguine scoglio is really good. Food felt freshly prepared. Staff always lovely.

Had another enjoyable visit to Sabas and once again impressed by quality of service. Christian and Christine in particular managed the whole operation brilliantly aided by their team.

I have visited many times over the years and this place used to be so vibrant and enjoyable. Visited on a Saturday night to try the new menu but unfortunately I couldn't go beyond describing it as 'fine' and 'okay.I don't think the dishes really lend themselves to 'tapas' style delivery and they were just a bit bland and uninspiring. Certainly not to be compared with the amazing tradional Spanish tapas restaurants we have in the city.Service was acceptable but nothing that made us feel they were happy to be there. I realise the pandemic causes issue with capacity but there was zero atmosphere and the place felt nothing like the photo they use on TripAdvisor to represent it.There are far better restaurants in Newcastle now.

We have eaten here many times over the years in its many guises. Once again it’s changed it’s character and created another great restaurant and exciting menu.Food was really great with fabulous sharing dishes.Service was attentive and friendly.Would thoroughly recommend Saba..Thanks for a really great evening

Personally don’t think the change in menu is very good at all. We have always enjoyed family meals here but it’s unlikely that we would visit again as the change doesn’t suit.Although we were happy enough to go with tapas dishes, they fell way short of the mark. The presentation is sorely lacking, the tastes were ok and the prices have increased and are definitely over priced. For example a garlic ciabatta with cheese (listed in the starters) was £4 for two small pieces of bread that were just about burnt. Totally unappealing and quite frankly unacceptable.It’s lost it’s authenticity and feels rather tired inside now. Appreciate that it’s been a challenging time for the industry but we certainly didn’t feel like they are ready to welcome back customers with any excitement.

Always liked old style Sabatini's food and atmosphere were always very good. New style of serving Tapas style doesn't lend itself to a relaxing experience. Waiters are flying about - we had 14 dishes and they come as soon as ready it meant the waiters paid around 10 visits to our table to serve the food - hardly relaxing, being interrupted at almost every mouthful . Pizzas were average, lots of crust not much topping and also felt prices were a bit steep. Would expect to pay around £8-10 for a main course pasta. Pastas were priced £7-9 for what the waitress freely admitted were half portions.

Found Sabas when waking along the Quayside and liked the look of the menu. We were seated very quickly, drinks and food ordered within 5 minutes. The food was delicious, would recommend the tempura vegetables and king prawn skewers! Reasonably priced and attentive staff.

My group of 6 females had a table booked for drinks, didn't realise the time and ordered another round as our time was due to expire. Staff kindly provided us with another table so we could finish our drinks, which staff were happy to accept. On moving sections 2 of the ladies in my group wre told by a male staff member 'are you going to sit? Well.... it doesn't look like it, it's illegal to stand up!' Then said male continued to try and intimidate the girls into sitting down and stood and watched over them, even though one of the ladies was on her way to the toilet. No where do the covid rules claim it is illegal to stand up and no where does it say it is acceptable to try and intimidate females. Using covid as an excuse to belittle customers is appauling and when the manager was confronted all he could do was say 'well, it's been a busy day!' At no point was there an apology until i hinted on one, even then it was only from the manager. I explained even being polite and saying 'ladies please would you take a seat and i will be over to serve you' but that wasn't the case either. We left feeling intimidated by what we can only describe as a bald 5ft7 ish male who felt he could treat women with disrespect, rudeness and a quite aggressive tone. Any ladies thinking of drinking here rethink and book over the road at Slug and Lettuce or Pitcher and Piano. They look out for their customers unlike Sabas!

Always loved Sabatinis so couldn’t wait to come back after the re brand and try the new menu, the food was amazing as always however the chilled vibe that the restaurant used to have is no more, now because they are encouraging the tapas style, plates are cleared so quick as you are still eating, even some plates with bits of food on we were still picking at were taken away so quickly, felt like you couldn’t have a private conversation for more than 2 minutes as a waiter was always there clearing the table over your shoulder, absolutely love the food here but after the re brand don’t think I’ll be rushing back! Also had a couple of patronising comments from the waitress about drinking after ordering cocktails and then her bringing us water after telling her we didn’t ask for it and her still proceeding that we had and left it on the table, as if we were not trusted to have a cocktail bit strange!

Visited with my family for dinner while staying in Newcastle. And wow, amazing...staff were lovely, food was amazing as was the wine..we will definitely be back when everything is back to normal and we can travel again. Best wishes to all the staff and management through this uncertain times and fingers crossed you'll be open again soon making people happy

Intentamos hacer una reserva para 8-10 personas a las 7. 30 pm el sábado pero desafortunadamente no hubo disponibilidad hasta las 8. A las 30 pm, el gerente del restaurante, Mark, tomó nuestros datos y dijo que se comunicaría con nosotros si había algún cambio.Nos llamó aproximadamente una hora más tarde para decirnos que podía acomodar nuestra fiesta para 7. 30 pm después de haber tenido un par de cancelaciones.Cuando llegamos nos llevaron a nuestra mesa y rápidamente nos sirvieron las bebidas y nos dieron nuestros menús, nos dieron la cantidad justa de tiempo para decidir lo que nos gustaría y todos hicimos nuestros pedidos.Cuando llegó la comida era deliciosa y el servicio fue excelente, muchas gracias a Mark y su equipo por hacer de esta una velada muy agradable, sin duda volveremos y recomiendo encarecidamente el restaurante Sabatini.

Este lugar es hermoso, no puedo recomendarlo lo suficiente si estás visitando la zona, ¡es imprescindible! El servicio es de primera, nuestro pedido fue tomado en poco tiempo y nuestra comida llegó muy rápido y estaba muy caliente y los camareros fueron muy atentos todo el tiempo que estuvimos allí.Vale la pena probar los espaguetis de marisco, tienes muchos mariscos y la salsa es muy sabrosa y el pan de ajo con tomate es para morirse lo mejor que he probado. El tamaño de las porciones también es muy bueno por el precio que paga. Buenas opciones de vino para acompañar la comida a precios decentes.También recomendaríamos tomar una copa en el bar Signor al lado del restaurante, fue un toque encantador antes de nuestra comida y la señora detrás del bar fue excelente, lo siento, no me enteré de tu nombre, por cierto, el cóctel de la bañera es muy divertido, me encantó el patito de goma con el que viene nos hizo reír. ¡10/10 de nuestra parte para el italiano de Sabatini!¡Con amor de Sheffield!

Beautifully cooked meals from this newly reopened restaurant in this mad COVID world we live in! With a limited menu it was still excellent. I would recommend the Pollo Allo Zafferano (Chicken Breast with Sautéed Mushrooms) Best meal this year!

Visited this restaurant on 14th March 2020 with friends. Excellent food enjoyed by all. No complaints regarding food but the place was so dark. It could do with having a little more light at the tables. Apart from that it was very good indeed. Would thoroughly recommend Sabatini to anyone

Used to visit this restaurant regularly but hadn't been for over 10 years so decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed and cant believe we left it so long! We were early but shown straight to our table and the service was excellent. We had a bottle of house white wine and shared a starter of courgette fritters which were lovely. I had chicken in mushroom and saffron sauce and my husband had sea bass. My meal was tasty and my husband reported that his was superb. The fish was cooked perfectly. He finished with tiramisu and I had affogato. We had an Itison voucher so the meal was excellent value for money. We finished our night by having a couple of cocktails in signor prosecco next door. They had Friday night offers on so again it was a nice atmosphere and good value for money. We wont leave it so long to revisit!

First visit to this Italian and having seen pics of place and overall comments was hoping for a cracking night, I felt the place was tired, tables, floors, menus were damaged and greased in places. Toilets were a mess in gents and my partner said ladies wasn't great, never a good sign for a restaurant in my opinion. Staff were friendly and good welcome , waited over an hour for mains. Food tasted ok but presentation was sloppy, provably as place was packed and kitchen not coping with orders. Given other people's comments this is a restaurant that needs to get back on it's A game given its tradiiin in the area. Shame on you management your letting a potentially great restaurant slip badly here, and reputation is everything.

I used to be a regular at Sabatini's and was looking forward to returning but "what a let down".Booked for 6.00 to enjoy the Happy Hour. Upon arrival was handed the Main Menu and Set Meal menu. No mention of Happy Hour. I asked the waitress who initially advised "it's past", but after I reminded her it did not finish until 6.30, she changed her mind.Ordered from the set menu and 20 minutes later still no food, so asked the waiter. He went to the kitchen and it turned up minutes later. I ordered the classic Italian starter of Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil received Tomato, Mozzarella and Rocket.( not description on menu)For the main I opted for the Pizza, which I am pleased to say has not changed and is good.In hind sight I should have ordered Pizza only from the Happy Hour Menu, as ended up paying £7.45 for a starter consisting of one sliced tomato , couple of slivers of Mozzarella and couple of pieces of Rocket.Owing to poor service and inflated price of starter I think it will be a very long time before I return to Sabatini's or may never again.

Superb evening from start to finish! My fiancé and I came to Sabatini’s for a meal tonight and we had such a wonderful time I wanted to come straight on Tripadvisor and leave a review! We were warmly welcomed by the staff as we walked in and shown straight to our table. The staff were friendly, polite and professional throughout the whole meal and the food was outstanding! We shared the antipasti starter and had steak and tortellini pasta for main with a lemon sponge pudding for desert. The food arrived promptly and tasted amazing - we felt like we were back in Italy on holiday again! Lovely bottle of wine and Aperol spritz too! Thank you for a wonderful evening - we can’t wait to come back and bring our family and friends.

Haven’t Been to Sabatini for a few years, but after deliberating which restaurant to go to we decided to go classic Italian! We booked a table and arrived - the signor Prosecco lounge was quiet for a Friday night however we made use of the drinks offers - which were great! We popped out and came back in - assumingly the staff would of taken the drinks to the table, however they didn’t so we carried them through a semi busy restaurant. Initial greeting was good and menu placed beside us. I chose straight away, I fancied chicken. My partner decided to go for a set menu which was great value. Order was taken and we had a glass of wine. My partners starter arrived and was lovely - garlic mushrooms. Mains then arrived, before we had started eating the waiter checked back on us. I tried my chicken and immediately wasn’t impressed. The sautéed potatoes were hard and undercooked and as for the £4,95 salad it was a small bowl of lettuce and onions nothing else! I tried a few more bites and pushed my plate to one side. My partner enjoyed his! When the waitress eventually came over, my partner had just had his last mouthful. She asked was everything ok and I told her it was not. As shown on my plate, it was almost full. She said ‘sorry we have lots complaints on this dish, I check with chef and come back’ 10 or so minutes passed and we asked her for the bill and I asked her .. as she wasn’t going to tell me what that chef had said. She remarked ‘ my chef been in since 10oclock and is long shift and tired so allowed to make one mistake as nearly 9oclock.’ I was super shocked that they would say that so was left speechless! I asked for the bill - nothing was amended on it and no offer of a drink or some sort of adjustment as I didn’t eat my main. Upon leaving, the manager was busy or else I would of spoken to them!

My husband treated myself and our party of 12 to a birthday lunch here as we regularly eat and enjoy meals at another restaurant owned by the same company. We had drinks the previous week and tried the tapas menu in the bar area which was lovely and were looking forward to a full meal today. The food itself was absolutely lovely and could not be faulted but the service given by certain staff members was not great at all. We had to ask 3 times for most things and repeatedly remind them of drinks etc. The atmosphere was lacking and overall attitude not really bothered about providing customer service. At the end of the meal there was a misunderstanding regarding a small round of after dinner liquors after already settling the food and drinks bill. When we questioned this as something that is often a nice gesture at the sister restaurant I was quite rudely told that I should have dined there instead after overhearing staff talking unpleasantly about us. Away from other diners I tried to point out that this was embarrassing and service not great and was told that we hadn’t spent enough to warrant any free drinks and to go elsewhere next time. Very disappointing to say the least and completely at odds with what we have previously experienced with the group.

I visited here with my friend on 1st February and I really enjoyed my meal.We were seated promptly, and offered drinks straight away. I had Funghi Con Crostini (wild mushrooms & cheese on toast) for starter and Nonna Isella (chicken filled with cheese in a peppercorn sauce). Although this is an Italian restaurant the array of dishes is much wider than pizza and pasta (though both of these are on the menu too!). Then finally I had Sicilian lemon sponge for desert, accompanied by a glass of dessert wine. The service was prompt and attentive. We had a good rapport with one of our waitresses and she was able to provide helpful advice on where else to go in the city for a few drinks. It doesn't take much to deliver great service and I feel Sabatini got it exactly right. I will certainly be back the next time I am in the city.

When I was a lot younger and went out at nights this restaurant was often visited, usually a group of us, always had a good night and enjoyed the food. As you will find out time moves on so it’s probably 25 yeas since my last visit. Last week during Newcastle restaurant week went for lunch, really excellent value and super tasty food. I had fish stew, I have to say having spent a considerable part of my life travelling it was probably the best ever experienced. So check their website and if it’s available get yourselves there, you won’t regret.

We have visited many times previously and the food and service is always excellent.Less than £90 for 3 courses and a bottle of wine.Each course was excellent and the service very good.The best Italian restaurant we have eaten in.We travel 30 miles to visit here.A must if you are in Newcastle and looking for a fantastic meal.We will be back.

Sabatini is very welcoming and the staff are super friendly. Nice and quick with getting the drinks order so your not seating there like a plum. Both menus where fantastic to pick from and the 2 for 15 was very nice. The food its self was top notch and well worth it. I would highly recommend Sabtini to my family and friends

I booked this table for my fiancé’s birthday very last minute, ringing it to book it at 5pm then sitting at 7pm, started off great, food was amazing.

I recently visited on our works Christmas night out. After looking at the menu I asked the waiter if I could have some of the dishes tweaked to my preference. This was no problem and can honestly say I received one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Cooked to perfection and exactly how I wanted. I will definitely visit again.

Having visited before I arranged for a family group of 14 at 5pm. We were told we needed to leave by 645. Food not received til 610 pm - complained and waitress was very rude and told me they weren’t a “fast food” restaurant - food was great but we didn’t have time to order pudding. Disappointing. Waiter was great and accommodated our order really well but the waitress at the end was beyond rude. A shame.

Eaten in Sabatini twice before in 90's and around 2005 did not disappoint - not quite as authentic as last time but food was excellent as was service thank you

This place is pretty much a Newcastle institution, and it's easy to see why. Firstly the decor is nicely modern, with no tacky chintz.

This is a nice venue and the staff where very welcoming. The starters where great. I had fried Bri and my partner had pork belly and black pudding. Both these starters where very nice. We the got our main course, my partner had lasagna which was really bland and quite tasteless. I have penne carbonara which was quite salty. We where both disappointed. My carbonara upset my stomach and I had indigestion all night bringing up fatty water. I will not be visiting again.

Había 15 de nosotros (entre 9 y 71 años) celebrando el 16 cumpleaños de gemelas Grandaughters. El restaurante es encantador, bellamente decorado y acogedor. Hay un menú Bistro donde puedes elegir 2 platos o 3 a un precio especial. El menú principal es extenso y tiene un precio razonable para la ubicación. Elegimos del menú de Bistro. Tuve Crostini y cuando llegó solo había 1 y pensé que parecía un poco malo, sin embargo, estaba bien cubierto con queso peccorino y salmón ahumado, absolutamente delicioso y 2 rebanadas habrían sido demasiado y 2 rebanadas con menos cobertura resta valor al rico sabor. Mi marido tenía calamares crujientes, que fue uno de los mejores calamares que hemos probado, no masticables y sazonados perfectamente. Nuestros platos principales eran conejos. Tuve un poco de mala suerte, creo que como un par de mis piezas no pude cortar y obtuve un hueso pequeño muy fino, pero mi esposo y mi hija estaban bien y me preguntaron por qué había dejado algo, no me había desanimado a comer ¡el resto!

Tasty pasta dish and excellent wine that the waitress recommended. Staff were friendly and chatty when necessary, a lovely spot for a quick lunch but would definitely go back in the evening.

Was in Newcastle with friends for a four day city break. Went to Sabatini by chance as it was not far from our hotel. It was a Tuesday night, so a bit quiet everywhere, but the friendliness of the staff and the general atmosphere inside was great. Then the food surpassed our expectations. We all had different main courses, I had the veal with pepper sauce and it was excellent. Our experience was so good that we went back a couple of night later. Again all four had different main courses and no one was disappointed. This was the best restaurant we found during our stay and was good value for good food. Can't recommend it enough.

We were visiting Newcastle Quayside for 3 nights and decided this restaurant looked good. We rung up and booked and went for a drink beforehand in their bar. The bar had live music and the drinks were good and reasonably priced- great value

This Italian has a amazing atmosphere, very nice setting indeed , I think the food is pretty good , had some decent pasta main courses , but probably not the best Italian in the immediate area , nevertheless still good quality tasty food . Lovely jubbly.

We stumbled across this restaurant and were blown away by the excellent service and delicious food. I ordered the Fish Stew and, if I'm honest, expected some soup with bits of fish in it. Nothing could have been further from the truth. I received a super array of shell fish and fish in a tasty tomato based sauce. My husband had the Carbonara which he really enjoyed.

We decided to go to Sabatini for an evening meal after it was recommended by one of our friends.

Well, where to start. A warm welcome from Mark and Christine. We were quickly seated, it felt only a few seconds delay from our drinks order to them arriving at the table; a couple of thirst-quenching Moretti’s. One thing I always look for in restaurants is recommendations...Mark suggested the rump steak for my partner (she’s a keen lover of steak and, was not disappointed!!). I’d decided for a pork-based dish and was keen for a white wine to pair with it. Mark recommended the Silenzi...A great choice, extremely refreshing and crisp. Worked perfectly with the salty pork. One thing that stood out across both courses, the freshness. From the mushrooms, to the pork, to the spaghetti...each mouthful was a joy! The cherry on the cake was the fantastic, personable service from Christine, topped off with two delicious espresso martinis. We’ll be back for sure!

Booked Sabatini for a colleague's leaving dinner. The restaurant itself is a lovely setting and the staff were all very friendly. I had the Bresola to start which was delicious, I could have happily eaten for every course! I had chicken for main which was really tasty and we had a lovely evening. Also, this may sound silly but the table was great for a group, it wasn't a long thin table, there were two people at each end and the table was wider which allowed people to converse easily across the table. Small detail but makes a difference!

Lunch at Sabatinis on a Friday. Had a very good Rib Eye steak with a salad. Decent wine list . The restaurant was rather quiet for a Friday lunch. Service was good . I’d certainly come back .

Excellent location on Quayside, very good setting, well appointed with broad menu. Food was quick and nicely presented. Hot and tasty ----- then notified that the toilets were upstairs. Impossible to reach for me, so because of one of my problems, we rushed to complete as much as we could, left the rest to get back to our hotel. Very bad that such an establishment should shirk it's responsibility in not providing a disabled toilet. The three steps from pavement to restaurant could easily be traversed by even a wheelchair and helpers, but the stairs present an unsurmountable obstacle.

When we work at the sage centre as it’s local and not to far to walk we always have a meal here. I really wanted Veal Milanese

Tuvimos una noche fantástica el sábado para mis hermanas despedidas de soltera. A la llegada fuimos a la zona del bar para tomar unas copas y había un cantante increíble. Al llegar al restaurante, calculé mal los números, pero no fue un problema para ellos. Más sillas llegaron en cuestión de minutos. La comida salió según lo ordenado y todos comentaron lo deliciosa que estaba. Comí filete y fue irreal. Cuando vuelva a visitar Newcastle definitivamente volveré de nuevo. Myself and six of my mates travelled up from the Channel Islands to watch Newcastle play their home game against Southampton over the Easter weekend and we went to Sabatini's for an evening meal. We had pre-booked the table and on arrival our table was ready. The restaurant was full which is always a good sign. We only ordered a main course along with some Irish coffee's to finish with. All of the food was superb. The staff were very happy and looked after us really well without being overbearing. I would highly recommend this restaurant and a big thank you to everyone there for a great night out.

Estaba allí ayer y tengo que decir que me fui tan enojado que recibimos la factura y pagamos con tarjeta cuando se comprobaron el chip y el teclado, la camarera se dio una propina de 40 si hubiéramos estado borrachos o no verificamos la máquina. ¡Nos hemos salido con la suya y cuando pedimos ver la gestión que ella no podía dar un tirón nunca volvería y se lo diremos a todo el mundo! ! Another lovely meal and fab welcome and service from the team at Sabatini. I chose calamari to start and chicken with peppercorn sauce for main. Lovely food, lovely company and well looked after. Thanks

Lovely restaurant, we both had pizza which was very tasty and a bargain during the happy hour. Clean restaurant, nice decor and atmosphere. Friendly staff.

6 of us are here on a Friday evening. The place was fairly quiet. Things started off well, but when it came to more drinks, we had to ask for soft drinks repeatedly. Main courses all looked great, except for the big empty space in front of me; they'd forgotten my order of belly pork. It was 10 minutes after everyone else, and in fairness was a lot bigger portion than I was expecting. However, belly pork should be melt in the mouth and this was anything but. When I pointed this out, I was offered something else, but everyone else had virtually finished their food by this point, so I chewed my way manfully through the meat. We weren't charged for my main course, but the service was slow, and we went be rushing back. I pointed all this out to the staff at the time, so this poor review should come as no surprise.

We visited Sabatini before a concert at The Sage for an excellent meal and service.

The restaurant is expensive but the quality of the food was very good. Not a very large choice of pizza and pasta dishes to choose from. If you were a fussy eater, you would struggle. I highly recommend the sea bass

We’ve been wanting to try Sabantini for ages, having walked past it so many times. I’ve read some of the review and cannot understand why people think it’s so good! The service was fine and we didn’t experience the rudeness that has been referred to in some of the poor reviews. For us it was the poor quality of food that let it down. I had a glass of the house white with was served in a wet glass and tasted vile. The starters were ok. My partner enjoyed his garlic bread and I enjoyed the garlic prawns but both nothing more than average.

Lovely relaxed atmosphere and great location by the quayside. Almost all of the staff were welcoming and attentive, and the service was relatively quick. The garlic mushroom starter was beautiful! However the mains were disappointing - we came for lunch menu expecting for at least one vegetarian option based on the website set menu but found that there were no options offered, so had to order from the normal menu and had extremely minimal choice of either pizza or plain pasta. I ordered the asparagus ricotta dish and found it to be really plain and disappointing, and my partner ordered the belly pork which seemed very dry. Overall a lovely place but not worth the price

Sabatini's has become one of those places that we feel we must visit. It is our restaurant of choice owing to the fantastic staff and amazing food. It keeps us returning to Newcastle.

Visited on Valentine’s Day. Set menu was out but decided to go off the normal menu, the lasagne was unbelievable. Very good sized portion and cooked to perfection. Staff were really friendly and very nice inside.

We were in early evening so took advantage of the fixed price menu. The food was very tasty and the service was excellent. A couple of bottles of Peroni also went down well. Happy to recommend.

My wife and I visited Sabatini last night as part of Newcastle NE1 Restaurant Week. 2 courses for £15. Fantastic meal. Starter of meatballs on crostini followed by pan fried pork scallops in a mushroom sauce with lovely chips. Staff are extremely pleasant and efficient. We would have no hesitation in recommending this italian restaurant. We will definitely be returning SOON.

Had a lovely family meal at this family run restaurant. Well worth a visit. Great service and atmosphere in the place.

Popped in on the off chance, as our hotel is close by. A warm welcome, friendly service and delicious food. Plaudits go to the bruschetta and the lamb chops. The Sicilian sausage was huge, so take care!

Needed to eat early and fast before a concert in the SAGE and they were totally helpful. Friendly staff, very good food, nice surroundings. Will definitely be back.

Service was very good and a good varied Italian menu with tastes for all. It was quiet with just three tables being occupied when my wife and I visited. We ordered a chicken dish and a pasta dish, both served hot and presented very well. The pasta was very salty likely just the dish and the chicken was excellent. The meal was spoiled by music being turned off and lights lowered to a level that made seeing the food actually difficult. It didn't take long for us to get the hint they wanted to close so we opted out of more drinks and deserts and left having hardly finished chewing. How un professional! This was my third visit here and my wife's first but sadly it was both our last. Mistakes and errors happen but this was just rude and far from welcoming.

Visited as a family of very young to old. Staff were very good with such a large group of people but we had a large table ready and orders were taken reasonably fast.

Fantastic king prawn starter followed by an old fav spag Bol with a cheese and tomato side ( was hungry) only passing thought why not and pleased I did. Can’t fault the place very happy staff clean tidy decent food what’s not to like👍

I was in last night for a meal for my boyfriend birthday and omg it was amazing.

Visited this restaurant with my partner last night for the first time and had a great meal. Good decor with pleasant drinking area. Service good. Used Living Social Voucher, 2 pizza/pasta meals for £10. Prices a little more expensive than some Italian restaurants in the area. Worth visiting. An enjoyable night. Will go back. Wine a little more expensive than some places, had a good red for £18.95.

A bunch of us met for lunch here, I chose calamari which was well cooked, for main I had pizza which was very nice. The house white is totally acceptable. The waiters all remembered who ordered what even though we were a party of 10. A good service skill being demonstrated.

We had booked a table in advance which was lucky as the restaurant was very busy. There was a lively atmosphere without it being too noisy. Once our order was taken the food arrived reasonably quickly and was delicious. Very reasonable prices. Would definitely visit on our next trip to Newcastle.
