Best Indian take away in Penarth

Very small portions had the chicken Teka extremely disappointed it worked out that I paid £1 for every small piece of chicken Phoned to ask if they sent the starter and not the main dish but no it was the main dish complete rip-off as you can see in the picture it only filled half the container I never bothered to eat it I was so disgusted

I'm as close to positive as I can be that my madras was nothing more than a cheap packet mix you can but for pennies. Had that familiar texture and odd after taste. Very, very poor and as far away from authentic as you can imagine. An odd thing to say perhaps, but it tasted "dirty" I'm new to Penarth and this has been my second huge curry dissapointment in a row. And I'm not even that difficult to please.

It's a struggle to get a decent takeaway in Penarth but these guys are consistent ... Outstanding food every time! Keep up the good work! Fast delivery and the lamb Dhansak is the boy

It's a takeaway so can't review the atmospheric. However, it's sparkling clean in the shop. We have had the Midweek special a few times and it's great value and very tasty. We don't like hot curry, so perfect for us as sweet, coconut flavored. And the staff are friendly also. Thanks guys.

Worst curry I have had in decades. Curry full of grease. All poppadums burnt beyond recognition. Samosas dripping in oil and prawns tasted off. Saagor used to be the best last 2 been like this and will never order again

Since moving to penarth , sagor is the ultimate Indian for us , cannot fault the food , prices are reasonable and the delivery is always on time ( it can stretch a little on busy weekends but it's worth the wait ).

Best takeaway I know for quality and quantity of food, service and value for money. Personally love the Pathia and Madras curries.

Ordered 4 different dishes, chicken Phall, lamb Vindaloo, fish Madras and King prawn Balti. Garlic and egg fried rice. All very pleasant, delivered within the hour. Definitely recommend. Only reason I dropped a star is because I ordered 2 cokes which didn't arrive with the food.

I normally have a curry from this place when the rugby is on. Although it takes a while to be delivered, when you taste the food you will know why. the food has been cooked to perfection and i will never look at another curry house again. Thanks sagoor !!!!

Food was outstanding, some of the best Indian food I've had since moving to Cardiff and very reasonably priced. They also do direct delivery, do you don't need to use an app.

Delivery was very prompt. Starter lovely but main course disappointing. Jalfrezi had strips of chicken (as advertised in fairness) but there was not much chicken, and it was very dry. Not sure I would order again.

Our regular takeaway place for indian. Food always hot on delivery even if at busy times it takes up to 1 hour, the bhajis are amazing, the other day there was a mix up and they sorted it out perfectly and quickly no issues.

Stunning food with great service from staff... Forgot to deliver my can of Dr pepper, one phone call and ten minutes later and it was redelivered. Delivery guy is lovely.

Its ok and there is a good blend of flavours that is not just masked with spice in a ruch gravy. However had to mark down a star as the meat in the lamb madrass was very tough and chewy and tasted more like mutton. Ok, but for the price I probably wouldnt order again especially if they are selling mutton as lamb. (i might have just been unlucky my partner had no complaints)

Extremely disappointed if I'm being honest with you, as I gave this place the benefit of the doubt for the second time as everyone's reviews on here seem ever so positive, however unfortunately our meal wasn't anything to rave about. The dishes we're ever so bland and runny like I ordered soup which wasn't the case.

I am a frequent customer of sagoor for the past year or so and it’s one of my favourite Indian take aways the food is always hot and fresh. The staff are always lovely and it is always quick for collection. However the past few times I have ordered the curry hasn’t been as flavourful as past visits so for that I had to mark down one star. Recommend the lamb samosas and chicken tikka bhuna

Every Sunday I have a Indian and thought I’d try saagor for a change and I’m glad I did. Food is fresh and by far the tastiest I’ve had. Always piping hot and speedy delivery. Brilliant customer service. Cheers

One of the best Indian takeaways we've ever had. Everything was freshly cooked and the delivery took 30-40 mins which I thought was excellent. Will be using them again in thr future.

Excellent etiquette when serving customers. Foods always prepared to liking. Not a lot of bad things can be said about this establishment. The environment is very friendly and welcoming aswell.

Totally disappointed, tasteless food plenty of onions used in every dish . Ordered Balti and a boona which literally tasted both the same . Nan bread isn't homemade either taste like the nan bread from Iceland. Waste of money . If you know your curry 🍛 stay clear of this place .

It was quick but korma was like water and like a hot desert.... Wouldn't recommend it.

Korma had no flavour seemed watered down, tikka masala was pretty much the same, lamb biryani was full of fat, Overall was very disappointed definitely not visiting again.

Was expensive, took 1.5 hours to arrive and the food wasn't worth it when it did arrive (cold)....

We always order from Sagoor, it’s always earlier than predicted. Delicious. Vegan options and the driver is polite and courteous

Fantastic place. Got my third takeaway here yesterday and was impressed again. The quality of the food is great and the prices are very reasonable. The team are very friendly, even if they are busy. Forgot to order some rice yesterday - I rang up to order some for collection, and was told they would drop some off within a few minutes (I live locally). The driver came within 5 minutes and didn't accept any money for the rice! Excellent service. Edit: ordered delivery which was supposed to take up to 40 minutes, but ended up taking just over an hour. Considering it was a week day (not busy) and we live a few minutes away, this was very disappointing. I advise that you only order for collection from Saagor and avoid delivery.

Saagor is a great Indian takeaway in Penarth, ordered here quite a few times now, i would consider myself a 'regular' the food is outstanding, great value and amazing taste. Had 1 or 2 minor hiccups with delivery but quickly rectified its understandable were all human. Compliments to Hasan, and all the chefs at the restaurant!

Chicken Biriana, Tikka Masala and Chicken Korma. All delivered late, went to wrong address. Very small portions of chicken in the Masala and Korma. Chicken in the Tikka Masala was hard. Keema nan bread was in pieces. Won't be using Sagoor again. Very disappointing, this was my first curry during lock down. YUK!

Always excellent service, lovely food, delivered in good time, and at the moment following social distancing guidelines. Definitely recommend.

Wouldn't even rate 1 star!! Food turned up late, was freezing cold and also had items missing from order which turned up 1/2 hour after the original order. Multiple curries ordered were swimming in water.. Half and half - chips soggy due to being cooked and put in a container straight away. Would NEVER order from here again.. Hygiene rating definitely needs replacing!!

I've changed my review from 2 to 5star after a missing food and a later than usual meal I was given a free meal. I wasn't given this at 1st and £10 off wasn't a free meal so I put the phone down not happy .within 5 minutes I got a call back from saagor and they honoured the free meal and is now on delivery thank you very much saagor very happy customer .

The food at Saagor is absolutely stunning. So fresh and not greasy and so flavorful. The best Indian cuisine in Penarth. I had the Rajony Gonda and highly recommend it to try. Thank you for such great service.

First time I've used sagoor, food arrived piping hot, sag aloo was the nicest in ages, all the food was really tasty and not swimming in ghee. Only one minor we found the tikka massala and Korma sauces a bit on the thin side. Would deff use again

Had a beautiful lamb biryani. The lamb was so tender. Also had lamb shashlick which we'd never tried before. It's was mouth watering. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the grilled onion and tomatoes so tasty. Will definitely be a returning customer.

We have had many a good meal from here over the years but the last one on the weekend was awful. The rice was cold and the chicken in the Dhansak was disgusting, so much so it was not edible and was thrown away

Pleasantly surprised at this little find. Food ordered exactly how I like it as my family are fussy eaters! Plenty of non- meat options available to cater for my needs and the staff were more than happy to accommodate and make reccomendations . Definetly will be using Saagor again to cater for those unexpected guests.

We order from Saagor about 4 times a month and each and every time the service and food quality is amazing. I wouldnt go anywhere else for an indian takeaway. The Lamb Kerai and Chicken Rogan Josh is amazing along with the coconut rice. Keep it up guys we are big fans!
