Love Saab’s grill from the friendly welcome from the owners either take away or eat in the foods fab tried most of the menu it’s always freshly cooked hot and delicious I highly recommend !!!

1st time ever used this place...ordered chicken tikka and plain nan...got home had a drink putting me over limit to return meal....id been given chicken tikka masala and nan bread!!

Saabs grill have gone down hill. Good food when they first opened but now not great. Tge quality has a alot to be desired. Fish grill was a slab of rubber meat. The fish parkora were salty. Mixed meat grill was just about okay and given the price of over £30 not worth half the cost. Safe to say saabs grill is off the menu. Very poor quality.

Certainly not plush by any means but...........Clean, welcoming and absolutely excellent food.I am no stranger to the local curry houses but you will have to travel some way to beat this place.Super curry, packed with quality chicken at a VERY reasonable price ....will be going again as soon as I can A1.

A colleague and I stayed local on business. We wondered round on Tuesday night and ended up in a pub chain to eat as every other place was empty ( never a good sign in a place you don’t know ) The next night we noticed a few people in here, so we tried it. The guy who served us was spot on, The food was really, really tasty, the best I’ve had for years to be honest. Can’t really fault the place to be honest. And thats from a Yorkshireman abroad ;)

Lovely welcome, and a clean, modern interior. Varied menu, especially with the vegetarian Quorn choices... rarely seen elsewhere. Very tasty food and very hot when served- that always gets my vote! Would definitely recommend and will return.

The food and service at this Indian restaurant were fabulous. We shared the pickle tray. I enjoyed the delicious paneer tikka curry, my husband had the lamb machoosi, an African curry with a delicious gravy like consistency. Our friend had the equally delicious lamb balti. Would have been great if we hadn't had the misfortune to get two very rude and openly aggressive idiots sat next to us looking for trouble. It was unpleasant. The owner has them on CCTV and promised to ban them when I complained so hopefully they won't be able to spoil anyone else's meal.

We have been here a few times now and the food is generally very good and I love the fact that they do Quorn dishes. Prices are reasonable and for some dishes you get a price difference for size of the dishes.However the service can be slow and I don't really understand why as it is a small restaurant. If you have the time and patience to wait you will enjoy the food.

Lovely food. Service was very good. Prices as to be expected with all the extras. We just had a curry rice and a naan. Can end up being a bit pricey but nice to treat yourself once in a while.

Just had our first saabs grill meal, it was a voucher from a charity event that they kindly donated to. The meal was absolutely fantastic. So much of it so you wont be left hungry. Very quick delivery. Food piping hot. Will definitely be using them again. Thankyou very much

Ordered veg jalfrezi and It was horrid. The curry was dirty green colour and tasted like coriander chutney put in boiled veg....not nice. Paneer and mogo sizzler was tasteless too. Will not be going there again.

All of my friends loved their food last night and so did I.

My second visit to Saab's in the last couple of months. Once again the food was perfect - tender lamb, tasty chicken and flavours to die for.

We had a dinner there tonight and had a metal pin in the food and wife had a vomit straight after and the owner said its normal it can be from the stapler or wire not accepted.

Has a private function room, was excellent food and drink. Provided a buffet and really looked after us. Food kept on coming and coming. Everything was clean plates, glasses, floor, bar, toilets etc.... Look forward to the next family do we have.

Really great food all around, but the star of the show was the chili garlic paneer. Absolutely incredible. You could probably put that chili garlic sauce on an old shoe and enjoy it. An absolute must to try.

Placed order at 5.30 to be advised (via Just Eat ) that delivery would be 6.20 ish - food arrived on time however x 2 starters ordered were barely warm ( not a good start ) called restaurant and advised that food has just been cooked as only opened at 5,30 and should not be warm should be hot - baring in mind if food was cooked at 5.30 my delivery was made at 6,20 and only 0.3 miles away.Lady spoke to had bad restaurant service , no apology given , will not be using them again , Onion bhaji looked like it had been cooked , reheated several times to say the least.

We were greatly impressed with Saab's Grill; the staff were very helpful and friendly. As this was our first visit to an Indian restaurant, we were fully informed of the ingredients in each dish as one of our party has food in tolerances. We were also told how the food was prepared and cooked. We had a pleasant experience here and we would highly recommend this restaurant

After reading reviews we chose Saabs to go to for my birthday meal, we were not disappointed. The welcome and atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed, the food was very good, especially the sizzler starter. Highly recommended and a return is on the cards

Amazing choice. They certainly aim to please. Big portions. It's our favourite local Indian. Lovely decor.

Booked a table for Friday night for 4 persons. The restaurant has no atmosphere and is more of a cafe than a restaurant. We were sat next to the door so as you imagine we're frozen every time it opened. A Porch would be a good idea. The young man that served us was very good and helpful. The toilets are situated next to the kitchen- one toilet shared by men and ladies - not ideal. The drinks were poor, g&t; served in a half pint glass! No draught beer! The food was okay but not spicy even though we asked for one dish to be served masala hot.

One of the worst Indian restaurants visited arrived after booking table for me and business partner not told there was time limit for tables after order expensive mixed grill starter horrible MAIN course lamb curry order came out in his to gravy told them not happy after are meal told to leave after paying Bill as they needed table how rude did not even give chance to finish drinks which we paid APROX 30 POUNDS for AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT

I have been to Saab’s on more than one occasion with different sized parties. The service was spot on, our most recent visit to the restaurant was very busy - we were advised before we sat down that we would need to wait for our food so based in on that we decided we would continue our experience at Saab’s and then when the food did come out it was undeniably the best Indian food I had eaten!! Thank you to the Saab’s team. We will definitely be back.

We visit Saab's Grill each year when we visit family in Leicester. Couldn't fault it. A wonderful welcome and the owners couldn't do enough for us. Marvellous food and service. My husband always asks if the chef will prepare a Keema Paratha for him which isn't on the menu. He always does. Apart from this, the menu is extensive and we thoroughly enjoy our visit each time. Keep up the good work. Will return again next year.

We've been here 3 or 4 times now and can honestly say Wigston has a little jewel in it's town centre. The atmosphere is always welcoming and very friendly. The owner and staff are attentive and make sure you have everything you need without you feeling rushed.Which brings me to the food. Each and every time I've been, we have always commented on how delicious the food is. It's well worth a visit but don't tell everyone!

Not my first visit but first review. Evening meal with a friend and it didnt disappoint. Such friendly service and the food was great. They didnt rush us for an order. Instead offered poppadoms and chutneys whilst my friend and i chatted away. The food did not disappoint. The mushroom masala and jeera rice was really nice. The house rosè was also quite nice. What suprised us was at how cheap the bill came too. It was only £30 for 2 curries,2 portions of rice, a portion of plain yoghurt , 2 house wines and the popadoms. I'm really fussy when it comes to eating indian food in restaurants but by far Saabs grill is the only one is leicester i enjoy.

We have lived in Wigston for just over two years and have passed Saab's Grill many times. I thought it was a small Curry house take-away. How wrong can I be! I fancied something different for our 48th wedding anniversary so we agreed to give this a go. Wow or what. Food excellent, service goes the extra mile and the ambience the best in the area. Best Indian restaurant we have been to and that is really saying something.

We were given a warm welcome when we arrived and the service was excellent. There were four of us, we each had different dishes, all were very tasty. The atmosphere was lively but relaxed and we all really enjoyed our evening.

A great night for my Dads surprise 60th birthday. Dilip and his his team were all friendly and attentive and couldn’t do enough for you. We had family travel from far and wide and they all commented on how good the food was. If you’re looking to hire a function room for up to 50 people with some top notch food then I highly recommend Saab’s Grill.

Decided to go to Saab’s for Father’s Day after several tasty takeaways from the restaurant. We all loved the food - very tasty and portions were just right. Despite the restaurant becoming busy the young waiter and manager were attentive, friendly and always on hand to take more drinks orders. A small place but that’s not a bad thing as it provides a more personal experience. Just round the corner for me, ample free parking and always fresh, tasty food - so can’t go wrong! Love the sizzlers and will definitely return :)

We were a party of 15 visiting to celebrate my dads birthday, I have to say they looked after us very professionally which is difficult for such a large group. The food was good and the staff were very friendly. I would recommend a visit here, the veggie selection was brilliant.

Our first visit last night, recommended by a friend. Six of us. The meal was excellent. the service was faultless, with six of us you would expect some issues but none at all. We will definitely be returning, probably quite often.

Our first visit and we found the food very good all starters went do well and all mains enjoyed the popadoms were slow arriving and the drinks service very slow we even had to chase the bill, but all in all it was good and we will return.

Really nice food and drinks. The decor and atmosphere is really traditional. truel india feel. I'll be honest the seating is not what I was expecting from a Michelin star restaurant but it added to the theme. Service was good and attentive, our dietary needs were noted and catered for. Another great evening at Saab's Grill! Group of 30 of us in the upstairs function room on a Sunday evening. Poppadoms, buffet style starters and mains all for a very reasonable price and with very efficient service. Thanks to Dilip and the team for their hard work!

Awful we ordered poppadoms and 1 paneer starter.. we were there 1hr 20 before and they hadn’t even started cooking our main meals. When I said we aren’t prepared to wait any longer they was rude and unprofessional.

Ordered a take away which wasn't particularly cheap. All dishes with the exception of the rice were extremely salty and inedible. Upon ordering we specifically asked for no salt as we had encountered problems before. Complained to the management the following day who were rude and not forthcoming in offering a replacement however under duress finally offered a replacement meal.

Ordered a takeaway from Sabbs grill, food was ready and hot. ordered the sabbs chilli & garlic prawn dish (£13) horified to find 5 prawns in the dish! food was average taste, same sauce diferent fillings.

Great experience third time round...good service and food was packed with a tonne of flavour. Highly recommend the sizzlers when ordering a starter. Good selection on the menu and great to see a good quality proper Indian restaurant away from the Belgrave area! This is the best Indian restaurant and take away in the area. We were a party of 7 and visited Saab's Grill in Wigston to celebrate a birthday last night. The staff were so friendly and helpful and even put up birthday banners for the birthday boy!

Went there for a family meal, food was amazing and the service was great. Really accommodated for our visit and didn't disappoint.

Quick last minute Saturday evening trip to Saabs Grill. Was busy and didn`t think we would get a table but the lady owner said give me 10 minutes as she knew a couple were about to leave. So nipped next door to get some drinks for a party later and after a few minutes following our return we got our table! They now also have an upstairs available for free hire. I had the potato and paneer cheese dish (medium) and my good lady had the curry fish dish (hot). Both were delicious as was the garlic nan and pillau rice. Excellent food and good value too. Recommended.

Great meal with friendly service - and they serve Tusker beer from Kenya! The Lamb Karahi was tender and very tasty.

My second review for this restaurant, the owners meet and greet with a sincere welcome, nothing is rushed, nothing is too much trouble, nice and relaxing which is just what me and my wife look for.On this occasion we would like to put a recommend on - Machoosi Chicken which I had, (African based dish), and Kaharai Chicken which my wife had, without any hesitation we highly recommend these two dishes - delicious.We love going to Saab's Grill, for the relaxed atmosphere, very pleasant owners and staff, you can see the kitchen at work, (nothing to hide, just as it should be), first class quality food, it can get busy due to its popularity and we have read a review which dams the restaurant - what the damming report does not mention is that they paid for nothing that they had, NOTHING!!Starts, mains, drinks etc.... they paid for zero and walked out.If you are reading my second review for this restaurant let me assure you I pay for all of ours to the last penny and its worth every penny - you will not be disappointed.Try the above dishes next time you go.Thanks to all at Saab's Grill - keep it exactly as it is don't change a thing.

Cracking - needed an Indian after a long day umber crunching numbers and then a 5 mile run. Only a c. 30 seat place but all the better for that. Here for another 3 months and will now be here at least once a week. Great staff and good quality food. Only comment would be to do their own Naans ! Best pitch is that you can choose your meal and THEN choose the heat. YES - I can get an "HOT" passanda ! Brill !

Once again this little gem of a restaurant never seems to let you down in anyway.I went here with my other half on a busy thursday night and the restaurant was full. Yet the service was outstanding, I was served drinks by this young lad and food by the manager.We firstly ordered poppadoms, then our starters was a large mix grill (very large indeed) and then for our mains we ordered mixed meat masala, chicken madras, egg rice, peshwari naan and roti.The food was spot on, full of flavour and spice. We had asked for extras in the food such as garlic and coriander and all was provided.The service by all the staff and the management was outstanding, they really go out their way to look after each and every individual.I'm a very regular reviewer and am not one that just leaves reviews that are negative. Food and service is impeccable and I would truly recommend that you visit this little gem of a restaurant in Wigston. One thing I would like to point out is that the review below "extremely poor service", well we were here the same night this incident happened (table very close) and I can truly state how exaggerated the review is ! The customer was very rude indeed and shouting his mouth off and tried to spoil the whole atmosphere for the rest of us - well he did not accomplish what he was trying to do. The staff and manager handled the situation very professionally and no inconsiderate verbal abuse was used by them. As a frequent customer to various restaurants including several local Indian restaurants my wife and I decided whilst on a Thursday night out to try the Saab Grill. We had discussed trying this out on several occasions but never had the opportunity. We entered the restaurant around 8pm or just after and was meet by a young lad who stated we could sit anywhere in the restaurant. We choose a table and the same lad gave us our menus. At this point it was quite clear that the general running of the dining area was by 2 young lads (this is important to note due to the situation later). After some time, our drinks order of 2 G&Ts was taken and subsequently arrived at our table. Again, it is difficult to give an accurate time frame, however, it seemed a very long time (we had finished our drinks) before another man (suspected it was the owner/manager) came to our table and we ordered our starters, main course and side dishes. We were offered free poppadums due to the wait so we could eat these before our starters arrived. After some time, the starters arrived and we promptly started to dine. Half way through the owner/manager appeared with the poppadums and we stated that they were supposed to be ready before the starters. He replied, “I forgot” and walked away. After our plates were cleared we asked one of the young lads for a drink. Unfortunately, he could not serve us so we had to wait for the other lad who had more responsibility. We ordered a bottle of Shiraz Malbec at £15.95. The young lad returned and stated that this was out of stock (only 3 choices of red wine on the menu), however a bottle of Shiraz was available. Glasses were placed on our table and then the wine arrived unopened in a metal bucket. I enjoy my wine and unfortunately this bottle was a very poor replacement for the price. It appeared to be a generic brand and had the taste and quality of it. At this point I was going to make an initial complaint regarding the service, however, my wife convinced me to let it ride and to try and enjoy the experience as best we could. As mentioned the general dining area was being managed by 2 young lads. We had no issues with them as it appeared they were out of their comfort zone and ultimately the dining experience and service is the responsibility of the owner/manager. We then started to wait for our main course and at this point my wife noticed that quite a lot of food was being taken to another area of the restaurant (upstairs she believes). Later we realised that a party/function has taken place as the guests walked through the restaurant. We also noticed that various diners appeared to have issues with the wait time and it seemed the quality of the food (this is only an assumption though).At around 9.20pm being 1 hour 20 minutes after we arrived I suggested to my wife that if the service did not improve we would pay for our drinks that we had fully consumed and leave. We however, decided to have the cut off point at 9.40pm. We also decided that we would relay our issues to the manager as we did not want to approach the young lads as the situation was not of their doing. The first dish arrived at 9.35pm and fortunately it was served by the manager/owner. As there were no apologises for the delay, I informed him that the service provided by his restaurant was the worst we had ever received and his immediate reply was “Why”. I mentioned the poppadums that he offered then forgot to serve and he then started to become argumentative and defensive stating “They were free” and his response to the wait time was, “It is only 9.35”. As it was clear that he was not prepared to take any responsibility or to placate us in any way I said, “Forget It” and my wife and I both stood up. He immediately took the dish back to the serving area. I approached him and said, “could you provide a pen and paper so I can give you may details”. He replied “don’t bother, just go. We do not want customers like you”. I said that I would be posting this experience on Trip Advisor and stated that with that sought of attitude he would quickly be out of business. His reply was something like “I don’t care”We both then left the restaurant. When we were outside we were flabbergasted at the way the owner/manager treated us. We were prepared throughout the 90 minutes or so to give the benefit of the doubt and try and enjoy the dining. When I mentioned the poor service the owner/manager could have has simply apologised, however, instead he wanted to argue the point with me. It appeared that this evening there were other dynamics at play and this may has somehow produced the response he gave.I cannot comment on the quality of the main dished and sides, however, at best the starters were mediocre and the quality of the wine for £15.95 was astonishing.Based on the experience I will never use this restaurant again and would not recommend this to any other diners. The owner/manager has implied by saying he does not want customers like us that he does not want middle aged couples who will order drinks, starters, main courses, wine, etc and spend more than £60 on a weekday night.After reading other posts I am certain that the owner/manager will review his cctv footage and look for a reason to blame us as it appears he is never in the wrong when poor service or poor-quality food is present. You never know, on this occasion he may own up to a very poor service experience.

I am a regular customer at Saabs Grill and they never cease to amaze me with the quality of food served! I was so impressed with the food here that i recently organized a graduation party as they provide free venue hire. All my guests commented on the excellent service and quality of the food. Looking forward to visiting the restaurant many more times!

Fabulous evening at Saab's Grill! Group of us from local church- 16 of us in all- and Dilip did us proud. We sorted out a very reasonable price per head and were amazed by what we got as part of that- delicious starters and mains with a mixture of veg and non veg dishes. The food was excellent as always, starters and main course done buffet style and all piping hot. The karaoke was very good and the group of people that was dining all enjoyed the evening. Please DILL don't leave it to long before you put on another special night.

Where to start? The food here is simply fantastic its so delicately flavoured an has bags of taste, myself an my partner eat here all the time. Dillip an his family never fail to make us feel welcome, Its a nicely laid out restuarant with veiwing of the kitchen. If youve never been its definately worth a visit. Mark & jojo

Tuesday evening visit here whilst away on business with a colleague. The food was absolutely first class, freshly prepared, very tasty and a decent menu. Service was attentive and spot on. Would highly recommend this place. Will visit again next time I am in the area.

So, after many trips to Leicester over a period of a few years, my husband eventually found a non-halal Indian restaurant! From start to finish we would rate it 10/10. The service was professional and polite. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. The food was warm, freshly cooked to our exact tasting and standard! Using my 8 year old daughters own words, "I think we had such a phenomenal time together at Saabs Grill restaurant, thank you." The food was reasonably priced and overall we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Thanks so much to Saab parji from The Sond family in Walsall. We will definitely come again.

Visited last friday night. Lots of free parking on the local car park at the rear of the restaurant. Requested table had been reserved. We were greeted on arrival by friendly waiters and shortly thereafter by Saab (Dilip, the owner) who was keen to ensure any questions about the menu were answered. Menu is good, with lots of vegetarian options. The chicken wings and lamb chops are great starters. The food can be cooked to your liking regards heat and is good quality. We were asked if we were ready for the next course, which is welcome if you need that little extra time for food to go down. The portions are generous, and we were full with two courses. Appreciated the complimentary drink to end the evening. Big thanks you to Saab and his team. Very much recommended

Two of us went last Wednesday evening, arrived later than intended and, although we were the only ones there, were made very welcome. Main course (spiced just right) salad and a fresh, crispy extra garlic naan. Spot on.

Visited last night 5th May 2017 with husband and old friend, restaurant was extremely busy with some large tables of people but this was not a problem for the very fast and attentive staff, we didn't have to wait to be served as I had feared with them being so busy. We were made extremely welcome by smiling friendly staff who were quick off the mark taking orders and bringing out our food. There was a nice homely atmosphere too. I had the butter chicken which was really tender and tasty my friend being Vegetarian had lots of choice. Good price for an excellent meal (compliments to the chefs) including drinks and starter. This was our second visit, I wish I could go every week.

Couldn't recommend this place enough, I've been meaning to review for a while but just haven't got round to creating a TripAdvisor account. I have been a relatively frequent customer since December last year and it is always outstanding. Saab's Grill is a credit to Wigston, serving the best curries I've ever had (and that's no mean feat, I'm from Leicester!) The staff are always extremely attentive and nothing is ever too much trouble. All the dishes are made to order, and although this can sometimes take some time when they are busy, its always worth the wait. There's no bland curries that all taste the same, they're all individual and complex. Whenever I go to Saab's its always a 10/10 experience, so please don't be afraid to try it!!
