Leeja Palace in Oadby and Wigston

Just had a delivery not worth the price and no flavours at all in the food. On the takeaway menu it says 5 star winner in 2010,2011 and 2012 maybe they are still in 2012 cos the food was absolutely not the best in the midlands like they proclaimed

food was good, both vegetarian and non veg dishes, along with the naans.

Delivered food an hour late, all of it was cold. The staff member on the phone was rude and did nothing to speed the order up. Everything that we ordered arrived cold as if the food was sat on the side for the time delay. Even when reheated it tasted bland. They blamed the delay on being buys. Seems like they are not a good enough takeaway to be able to handle regular orders.

We ordered a takeaway only. The restaurant is very nice but little used since the reopening after lockdown,hence the ambience has gone,it’s such a shame. No longer serves alcohol soft drinks can be purchased. Alcohol can be taken and consumed. The quality of food is exceptional . We use it once a week

Scammers. Ordered food from them once on deliveroo. They marked the order as delivered without actually delivering the food. Refused to give a refund and deliveroo were no help.

Usually quite a nice curry, however this time it was extremely vibrant red and artificial tasting. Probably put way too much dye in.

Easily the worst meal I’ve had from the Leeja. CTM so salty unbeatable . Misha korai entirely chicken no lamb/ shishka etc in red sauce. Shame used to be a quality restaurant no longer the case

Chicken Pathia was quite watery and didn’t taste like how chicken pathia should be. However we enjoyed it . Delivered early and food was hot when arrived . The overspill in the bag from the containers proved quite a messy task when serving up.

I've tried this place a few times in the last 5 years as it's on my front door and everytime i say never again and same again this time. The worst curries in oadby in my opinion what they lack in flavour they the have in abundance in heat /spice. Inedible.

Food was delicious, would highly recommend to anyone looking for a tasty curry at a reasonable price, shall definitely be using again.

We tried this restaurant the first time and it was a big disappointment. Hygiene is 1/5, we had to clean our plates. The ceiling and the lights had spider webs, yuck!. All the food tasted the SAME!!, and the portions were not even filling for kids. The waiter was very very rude. I would not recommend anyone this restaurant.

AVOID! Food hygiene has dropped to 1/5 and so has their customer service. Ordered online on their website and it took nearly 2 hours to arrive. I contacted them to cancel this order and refund me. The order was cancelled their end and I was told a manager will call me to sort out the refund. Nobody called me back and upon speaking to them today the manager said he will not be refunding the money and when I asked for his name he said it was 'boss'. Just shows what a joke of an establishment this actually is. Again please avoid and save your money. I'm lucky I've paid on credit card and can claim this back through my bank!

Not at described order time at all

Ordered takeaway as we had one a couple of months ago and it was okay. Poppadoms and pickles were fine, starter’s okay but bland. Unfortunately the mains were disgusting - none of the ingredients that were supposed to be added, nasty tough chicken in all dishes, we threw most of it away but we all had a bad night with indigestion and sickness. Shame,but we won’t b returning.

Takeaway meal - starters very good, main course terrible, chicken tikka was tough and chewy, sauces not as described on the menu. Threw it all away. Shame because our last meal from here was brilliant. Perhaps the chef had an off day but all of the family had sickness during the night.

I last came here when my friend was over and he had loved it so much he wanted to come back! he is gluten wheat and dairy intolerant but there was still so much choice as to what he could have. the food was delicious....kept eating it although I was full it was so nice. Very friendly and attentive staff. i am sure to be back when my friend returns. Truly a great treat out.

Nice tasty food, good service despit is arriving early they looked after us. All nice and fresh food, naan breads particularly nice.

We had fond memories of Leeja Palace and it was always the go to restaurant for a special occasion. Fast forward many years and it feels similar..but different. The welcome and poppadoms were great. Sharing mixed platter at 13 quid was really lacking enough meat for two people. The mains were ok but easily finished all the meat. We all had Lamb and to be fair it was pretty good all round. £96 bill for a family of 4 seems expensive, especially when it's bring your own alcohol. Also was shocked to hear that the latest hygiene rating was 1 out of 5 🙃 It was OK but Tipu Sultan over the road is cheaper and much better quality food.

Food was ok but the nearly 2hr wait was too long. Food wasn't good enough to make the wait worth it.

The order was 2 hours late, they said it was ready and on the way multiple times. Clearly lying so I didn’t cancel. Food quality was alright but if you’re going to order here make sure you order the day before so it gets to you in time….

Early doors with friends. Not bothered about NO alcohol for sale as we were all driving. Lovely ,tasty food.

I was very disappointed. Had the karayali dish (at least I think that’s how it’s spelt) but the lamb was very, very questionable. Very tough, old meat. Very obviously leftovers from the weekend. Literally the kind of meat I give to my cats. I really don’t expect standards like this from a restaurant. Maybe a kebab house, but not a restaurant.

Very quiet on recent visits, however the food is always of a high standard, the prices are reasonable and the staff are always friendly.

Hadn’t been to Leeja Palace for a number of years—so pleased we returned! Lovely room perched above Oadby town centre. Yummy vegetarian delights enjoyed with fantastic friendly service, and surprisingly, BYOB. Will definitely be returning again soon!

Incredible food with perfect service! The "Bring Your Own" alcohol system is also a great way to save a huge amount of money, plus the staff provides glasses and ice!

Leeja's Palace is our favourite takeaway. The food is always delicious, hot and delivered on time. There are a wide variety of dishes, all cooked to perfection. We can't wait to order again!

Usually great food and no mistakes, but very disappointed this evening as was sent Tawali which I did not order and did not enjoy missed my East Indian Garlic Chicken Curry.

The other food is lovely, but they have absolutely no idea how to make a Parthia. It was just chicken in tomato sauce. Bland, with no heat at all. 2/3

Food came quicker then estimated. It's the second time we have order from here. Last time it was really nice. This time it was bland and seriously lacking in flavour. It all lacked seasoning. All the main dishes all tasted pretty much the same.

Firstly, the place is clean and the staff are friendly. The order was exactly what we ordered and the food was ready on time. Sadly the food was devoid of flavour. As someone else pointed out quite rightly there wasn't even enough salt on some dishes (but the tarka daal and tandoori chicken were over salty). My wife's tandoori chicken had no trace of ginger or corriander on it and my Methi chicken had zero fenugreek. Bland beyond belief.

Two curries that tasted of chicken stew tonight. My sauce so overcooked that the lentils were like mush and no hint of the chilli mentioned. We do live a way out but they shouldn't service here if they can't service here. Delivery was a little late. Won't be ordering again. Shame as have loved previously.

Excellent food super fast delivery 5*****

We’ve ordered take away twice before and the food was acceptable, but not great. I’d never dream of eating in as it’s void of any character let alone charm. We only returned as our favourite curry house didn’t appear to be open and we wanted curry. The gentleman serving us appears to be lovely but his English is lacking and this makes a task of ordering but it was the food this time round, bland, it wasn’t even seasoned with enough salt let alone spices. My wife’s lamb was mostly fat. We won’t be returning and giving them out money. If your looking a unauthentic curry with no depth of flavour in an equally unauthentic setting with no character or redeeming qualities, this will be right up your street!

We have been to the Leeja a number of times over the years and it has generally been unremarkable. However, following the latest reopening, the quality of the food is so much better. The decor is nice and the staff provide a pleasant and efficient service. Of course, the most important aspect for a restaurant is its food and the improvement is marked. The quality is now excellent. It’s worthwhile pointing out in advance that the restaurant no longer serves alcoholic drinks - it is a ‘bring your own’ establishment. Soft drinks can be purchased. Overall, great value.

It's great to see the Leeja Palace open again. We had a home delivery takeaway. All the food was excellent, very high quality and plentiful - we had Vegetable Balti and Vegetable Karahi - both delicious - as was the Prawn on Puri. Very nice Onion Bhaji, Peshwari Nan bread and pickles.

Ordered a takeaway collection for New Year’s Eve. Meal was really nice, tasty and good portion size, one of the best takeaways we’ve had. Food was ready for collection on time and service friendly and helpful.

Just had a delivery and we cannot fault the food, the Salmon Curry was perfect the Honey Chicken great. It was fast delivery and all arrived hot.

i took my girlfriend for a xmas birthday treat.the food was not great and devoid of any xmas atmosphere.the service was the worse ever i have encountered .we were met by a waiter that didn`t even know what we were saying also found the communication was very slack and i found the service arrogant and cold also.if u want a celebration drink DONT BOTHER!!!! its a step up to a takeaway.i do not recommend this place for night out,it s just not worth it

Food quality was brilliant as always. However, the order arrived an hour and a half late. I did receive a message saying there was a slight delay and a new time of ten minutes later than requested. If I had known it was going to be so late I would have cancelled the order as it cut into the timings of other plans I had for the evening.

Ordered at 7 received at 9. Original time was 7:30. Eaten so many times in the past. This time it was awful. No taste and barely warm. This used to be such a good restaurant

2nd time I've ordered from Lee jack and the 2nd time it has been massively late. Ordered at 6.15 with an advertised 30-45 minute delivery time. Order confirmed with a 60-80 minute delivery time. Claimed order was on the way, missed the delivery slot and then moved the slot back food arrived at 8.30, cold. Never again.

Originally ordered at 18:20 for delivery 19:15-19:35. Order delayed and it's now 20:20 and still hasn't been delivered. No answer to phone calls. Very disappointed.

Food wasn't too bad but the staff were friendly enough and a good night was had by all. If I had one complaint it would be about the table next to us, in particular a man called DAN SEAL. wouldn't stop moaning all night.

Re-opened, thank goodness. Since having a devastating fire it opened again doing take away only. Now fully open restaurant,service,food excellent, nothing altered other than the decor. We use it on a weekly basis. At the moment it’s a BYO alcohol as it’s not licensed, not a problem as glasses are supplied. Try it,hope you enjoy as much as we do.

Tried to contact restaurant as I had ordered this two hours before It turned up late and cold - contacted restaurant and was advised they could not get hold of delivery driver so didn’t know when it would be delivered ?

We haven’t been since pre covid. The food has got even better. The service is friendly as it has always been. The decor has changed and now you have to bring your own booze. Which is perfect if you are a fussy drinker like myself! Great evening meal. We will be back

We’ve been to Leeja for a number of years and can’t fault it. Had a takeaway tonight chicken murgh lababda, lamb murgh lababda, aloo gobi and garlic & coriander naan. It was sooo good, meat was very tender the sauce was very tasty there was lots of it and the aloo gobi was very very tasty and as always the naan was just right - wouldn’t go anywhere else and now they’re back doing dine in! It’s been way too long and we are so glad they’re back!

Not had a curry for a long time as had bad experiences. Leeja palace restored my faith ! Really good curry , nice flavour , hot , nice delivery driver. Keep it up !

Food was great. However the delivery driver was very rude, because he could not find where the address. He called and when we tried ringing back the call would not connect leaving the driver annoyed. If the address is an option for delivery surely the staff should know where it is leaving the driver to blame us for other food delivery being late. We did not appreciate the lecture we were given

Been going here for years before they temporarily closed. Had a takeaway this evening, as always, best Indian food in Leicester.

The curries were tasty and fresh but I was really disappointed to have ordered two naans that were so obviously shop bought. They had a really tough cardboard texture, perfect round shape and were completely tasteless. I honestly could have bought them from a shop - I knew they were not homemade as soon as I saw them. Just not expected from an Indian restaurant and really put me off. It’s a shame because the curries were pleasant.
