Cuisine of India in Oadby and Wigston

Seems to have gone off the boil a lot now. We used to go here all the time and the food was amazing, but now the dishes all taste the same. It's like they use one sauce for all their dishes. There are far better curry houses now!!

No vengas aquí si tienes hijos que salieron sintiéndose decepcionados y discriminados Vine aquí esta noche por primera vez para mis sobrinas 5 cumpleaños con la familia incluyendo 4 niños La comida era preciosa, sin embargo, cuando se pagó la factura un total de £ 300 se dijo perdón, los niños necesitan estar callados, lo que me sorprendió, ya que después de todo, habíamos pagado por la comida y atienden para cumpleaños, esta no era la respuesta que esperaba y pensé que era muy grosero y nos hizo sentir muy desagradable cuando pregunté si los niños no se permiten aquí en este restaurante para que luego responda que no, en realidad! Do not come here if you have children came away feeling disappointed and discriminated. I came here tonight for the first time for my nieces 5th birthday with family including 4 children. The food was lovely however when the bill was paid a total of £300,we was told excuse me the children need to be quiet which shocked me as after all we had paid for the food and they do cater for birthdays this wasn’t the response I was expecting. I thought it was very rude and made us feel very unwelcome when I asked are children not allowed here at this resteraunt for him to then reply no not really! My sen children have hidden disabilities and no child wants to be sat to the chair for the entire meal and will not be quiet especially when comes to a family get together which doesn’t happen often and doing a birthday cake! I will not be returning here again and advise anybody with children or disabilities to avoid as you will come away feeling discriminated!

By far THE best takeaway I've had in a very long time. The tika masala is to die for!! Absolutely to annoy wait for our next one :) 1000% recommend

We have been coming here for years and we are still being welcomed by the same lovely owners of this long established business. 😊 The food is absolutely fantastic and it’s alway great to confidently try new things . The staff are so welcoming ,helpful and friendly. As a beer reviewer for a hobby , I have to say they deliver one of the best pints of Guinness in Leicester even surpassing Irish bars . Fantastic food , fantastic staff , a warm welcome and great beer . Their take away food is fantastic too and always gets delivered piping hot . Ticks all the box’s 👌🏻😁. Much love Speno and Janie

Never visited a restaurant like this where staff is not welcoming at all. Anything me and my friend asked they made faces. I work in hospitality from last 16 years and never been treated like this ever. Yes we know it’s not an Indian restaurant but I am sure Indian people are allowed to have a meal when we have spend 90 pound between 2 people. No one came to check if the food is good or not or we need anything. I can with me English friend who noticed this all and he said is this how these staff behave. We were told 10.30 is the last order but 10 pm staff is pestering us to say you want naan or not basically telling us go home. As an Indian guest I felt very annoyed and unsatisfied that firstly it’s not Indian restaurant but you have still used India name but then you treat your guest like this. Food was nice and when I said to waiter that my curry is full of oil he looked at me and said oh ok I will tell chef. Would love to speak to the owner of this place as I think he needs to know all this. I have been English guest eating poppadom in the lounge, but when I asked, I got a blunt reply said no. This whole experience made me very said and upset.

Boys, night out, customer service is brilliant. Food is reasonably priced and delicious. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. It's expensive once you factor in the alcohol. Apart from that I would highly recommend the restaurant.

Attended a Charity night here where there was a Indian buffet. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff and service was second to none. Highly rate this place and we definitely be back soon.

Fantastic food and service, Paps looked after us all night. Really enjoyed the hot version of the onion salad with popadoms, the food was amazing I had the chicken naga and would highly recommend it hot hot hot. Can't wait to go again 😁😁😁

Visiting Leicester for the first time and had to have a curry. What a great meal. The specialities were so different. Delicate, unique flavours with tender chicken. Lovey food and great service with happy waiting staff. Couldn’t fit in an ice cream but we will have one next time.

Outstanding authentic Indian dishes, brilliant service - the staff were very warm and welcoming - and a very beautiful, well looked after restaurant that I think could benefit from some darker mood lighting in the evening but that’s just personal preference :)

We've eaten at this restaurant for many years and the service and quality of food has always been first class. Sadly, both have gone down hill recently. Staff were inattentive and didn't respond to our requests when asked. The food was of poor quality both in the restaurant and in takeaways. We shall be eating elsewhere in the future which is a great shame.

Poor, ordered 2 masala dishes and 2 naans (cheese keema and a keema). Both masala sauces were completely different, one very watery and the other in a more usual texture but a very strange colour, both dishes came with 6 small pieces of meat… nowhere near worth the price. One naan was undercooked and raw in the middle and the other was burnt. The chips.. well more like cheap frozen french fries were as good as the rest of it. Very expensive for what it has to offer, poor quality food, there’s much better in Leicester.

WIters alway's standing about watching you, asking if you want another drink, so smothering, don't like it. Just leave you alone to enjoy your meal. It's all about making money on drinks. When I order a takeaway it's never ready they say do you want a drink. It's a money making ploy.

What sets this place apart is its OUTSTANDING STAFF... they're fantastic! This authentic Indian restaurant offers great prices and excellent service, making the food truly worth a visit. Additionally, there's a bar service and the option to make special requests off the menu.

Called for a family table of 5 and they were able to accommodate us within the hour! Service was next level, we were warmly greeted before I'd even got through the doorway. ● Good selection of drinks/beers/spirits/mocktails/cocktails. ● Cocktails tasted great. ● Staff were amazing, constant smiles and offers of assistance! Great Great Job! ● Toilets were very clean and well maintained. ● Good and Jovial atmosphere. ● Food arrived promptly and was hot. ● Portion sizes were great and HUGE. ● Good selection of dishes for guests with alternative tastes/desires. (Pizza looked great) ● Chocolates and warm cloths to finish. Just spot on. Would highly recommend and deffo intend on revisiting when back in Leics.

Just placed an order for collection, wanted to pay over the phone, chap on phone says you normally pay on collection. I replied does it matter if I pay upfront his answer should have been no , but instead argued the toss so I've told him to stuff the order!! Need to remember wasn't that long ago you was asking for locals to help you stay open...... don't count on me again. Disgusting arrogant manners

The best Curry this side of Town, however, is very expensive.

Disappointing. Expensive for what it is. Very bland, needed loads of salt, thin and watery curry sauce, puddles on the plate had to pour down the sink in intervals throughout the meal, minimal chicken. Sauce didn’t even cover the rice. Wouldn’t recommend.

Have used this restaurant for sit down meals and takeaways. The food has every time been amazing and the menu tells it like it is. We live 5 miles away with 4 Indian restaurants nearer but still go there. Can’t beat it. The food, the staff, service and the ambiance is top notch. Other you won’t be disappointed.

Ordered a takeaway from here today for the first time and I will definitely be going back, the food was perfect, we had the chicken tikka and chicken dhansak both were hot after a 10 minute drive home both of the curries were full of flavour and the dhansak was nice and spicy. Rice and naans were great too. Well done to the chefs. P.s front of house were very welcoming and jovial which was nice.

We ordered a take away last week. Was told it would be 45-60 min for delivery, took over an hour and a half. Food was cold and bland. Was promised a call back to discuss the quality and service, a week later, still not heard anything. Asked for fresh chillies in 1 dish, 1 small piece of fresh chilli was all we found.

Always rated this place until last Saturday. Not sure if they have changed the recipes or the chef. We had 4 different currys, the masala was good but the others had no flavour whatsoever, one of them was just pure hotness. The starters weren't great either. Presentation and staff was good. Was very expensive for what we had, my guests were very disappointed with the lack of flavours.

Such an amazingly chilled environment. So welcoming from every member of the staff and the food is simply always perfect.

I have always use this restaurant for my takeaways and never disappointed but this evening not so good, firstly I kept on asking the staff member to stop saying out loud my card details in a busy bar area and secondly when food arrived which was a quick delivery unfortunately the food was only lukewarm at most, both my wife and I have unwell for the last week and not eaten all day we just needed to eat something and not have to muck about getting a replacement.

5 of us came here for a meal. We all found the food to the bland. The meat was tender but had little to no taste. Chips and samosas were under cooked. Samosas tasted like they were frozen beforehand. For the prices they charge these should be fresh.

Visited for the Sunday Buffet. Pleasant greeting from staff. Good selection of food. Pizza for kids was on buffet but had to pay extra for chips. Food was all hot and tasty. Buffet was good price. £5.75 for a pint of Fosters was a bit steep though

We usually get a takeaway from here, personally I love the aam chicken tikka, peshwari naan and keema rice. Highly recommended.

What an expensive mistake … extremely watery sauces and poor amount of meat ... Naan bread undercooked. Emailed them twice hoping they would acknowledge my complaint ... Perhaps it was just a bad night ????? - but no reply

Last minute booking for 8. Wednesday night the place was quiet. Service was prompt, food was really tasty. Not one person in the group had a bad word to say about it. Would recommend.

I didn't expect much from this restaurant. After a night out with colleagues at the Cuisine of India we can ALL confirm how awful this place is. The food was VERY bland, we waited over an hour for the main course our drinks order was wrong. The excuse we got for the wait was "its a Saturday night and its very busy" this made us all laugh! If you cant perform & cope on a Saturday night, then you have no chance! All 9 of us wont be coming here again! Feedback from the the staff would be appreciated.

A frustrating start to the evening made so much better by the lovely staff and excellent food. I was happily surprised. Real taste and not just a slap of curry powder.... Very happy night. Happily recommend

We enjoyed a very delicious meal here and eat curry often, but this place has exceptional flavour and good value for money. We were surprised they offer free ice cream at the end of the mesl which was a lovely touch. Staff are efficient and friendly. The venue is not typical of a curry house and quite unique and can cater for large groups so we were pleased we could sit in a slightly to the side part of the room for a more intimate experience. I would recommend the mixed grill with a peshwari naan.

Our first time at this restaurant, it was wonderful, couldn't fault it. Some my day the service was slow, but it was ideal for us. They gave you loads of time to go through the menu and why you were waiting for your meal, there's a bar and lounge area where you can wait. The time between starters & main course was not rush and gave you time prepare for the next. Thoroughly enjoyable, reasonably price. Judging by the number of people there I was not the only one to enjoy the crusine

The starter was bland as we selected to have fish pakoras. They were also small in size in comparison to other Indian restaurants. The mains were really tasty including the naan. However in comparison to other restaurants the portion was small in comparison. Service is great in comparison to other restaurants. Would come again for sure.

I do not like being watched when I'm eating. We were rushed and we felt uncomfortable. I told my partner that they were waiting for us to put the last mouthful in and they would take my plate and the second I put my knife and fork down they were on my plate. I say they because we had 2 or 3 people watching us. I still had the food in my mouth when they took my plate away. This happened on every part of the meal. One waiter came over to see if we had finished at one point and then made out he was checking the radiator. The food was good although the starters were a bit bland and not worth the money paid. We would go again but next time I will tell them to not stand over us and we will let them know when we want them.

My first time at this amazing Indian restaurant, definitely not my last. A dining experience, card tricks at your table, very attentive service, not to mention the delicious dishes and such a vast choice. They were will to adjust and offered recommendations that were excellent. I can fully understand why this place is popular & busy. Thank you for the amazing dining service. Do not be disappointed at the outside, the dining experience starts as you walk through the door & are greeted by an extremely large bubble curtain tank. Very clean toilets as well.

Awesome food 1st time eating here wanted-something different but proper Indian food. This was absolutely 1st class. Waiters were a bit quick with food courses and we felt rushed - no time for food to settle down before the next course was out. Other than that I can highly recommend this place to everyone 👍🏻

Live in Market Harborough and can't get a decent curry here. So travel to Wigston for the best curry this side of Leicester. So tasty and every dish tastes different, not all from the base. Would highly recommend

Although the food was nice and came promptly, the Biriani had bones in it. Not a very high standard of food practice as I choked on the small splinters of bone in the dish. More concerningly, could of ended up a lot worse than what it did.

We haven't been here for quite a while. We were welcomed with open arms and made to feel very welcome. There have been a number of changes to the menu, including pizza! They also offer wraps which I think I will try next time. The service was attentive and the food delicious

Rip off. I ordered Coke, they only had Pepsi but offered a can of coke. Price for two cans was £7.00. You can buy a whole case of coke for that price. When I complained, I was told to do what I like.
